Yeah, the P0nies may hold a resemblance to Earth's Ponies, but you can't deny their sapience. That's the definitive difference to me, you're being sexually attracted to the form and body of an alien, sapient being. If you want to bring in bestiality and all that other kind of shit, then by that point you can make the argument that interracial relations are a form of bestiality because the human gene has noticeable variations in different continents and regions of the world, due to evolution and natural selection.
As far as I care, it doesn't get creepy until you see guys jacking off to actual horses.
2241597 Sentience is above all, the most defining and attractive trait, and I think ponies have done a good job in breaking the humanoid standard/requirement. Honestly, if a non-humanoid species was discovered in real life and they turned out to be pretty cool and intelligent, I imagine there would be massive backlash against the first couple that got together. But overtime what is culturally acceptable would hopefully broaden and allow such relationships work.
TL:DR: Ponies are a step in the direction of someday being in a relationship with an alien.
I like girls who are into more 'manly' things like fishing, offroading, working on cars, and being outdoorsy. why is it soo hard for guys who are into the less 'manly' things such as a kids show?

I could see there being some backlash, but really, honestly, in this day and age, where you will be metaphorically castrated if you so much as don't fall within the politically correct line of accepting love for what it is, would there be that much back lash? I mean, as long as the human is of age, and the alien follows what ever customs there is on their side, I think people would be seeing them as an example, proof that the two races can coexist, and even fall in love. There might be negative PR from both side's extremists, but they would be damn celebrities over night.
And I'd just like to point out that I'd probably be me among the first to be in such a relationship because the one thing I want to do most, above everything else, is fuck an alien.

i like ponies but i still find it... odd.
yes they are attractive (they appeal to me as well) but i still find it hard to ignore the sane and rational part of my mind telling me that they are horses... cute and have varied lovable personalities, perhaps, but still just horses :/

2257109 There is only one main reason, why people should not have intercourse with animals. Bacteria, illnesses, hygiene. Because in the past, some of the worst diseases were created this way.
It's dangerous to do with nonsapient species and even if we met other sapient species, we would first need to do a research, if some of the organisms, that are safe to them are safe to us and vice versa.
Don't forget that our own bodies contain a large numbers of bacteria, that are harmless or outright helpful.
Additionally, of course, we cannot get a direct consent out of nonsapient being, so it's also classified as rape.
But, as long as it's safe and mutually consent, it's okay. It's what changes bestiality into xenophilia.
The point: if we ever met MLPonies, both conditions would have potential to be satisfied.
