We Need a Firefly/MLP Crossover Written ASAP! · 1:11am Jun 25th, 2014
For those that have seen the show Firefly, ya'll know what I'm talking about! :applejacksmug:

So...in regards to Firefly characters, who would play who in a crossover?
(I'm personally vouching for Iron Will as Jayne and Firefly as Mal...cuz ya know, Firefly and all)

PS: I've begun work on the next chapter of Blue Angel. Not sure how long this one is going to be, but it may cross 20k. However, A LOT of questions are finally going to be answered!
There is one written already with applejack as Mal and Sorrin as Zoey, and some side and main characters rounding out the crew, the world is translated pretty well into the MLP world but hasn't updated in a while which is a same, I would like to see it become something like fallout equestra (not a huge fan) in its own little sub-universe.
P.S: you know there's a game coming out based on firefly, right?
Honestly, I do not see this working well because the ponies do not really fit the personalities of the Firefly characters well. The closest you get to a good fit is Trixie as Mal, and that is mostly because Trixie's canon personality is nebulous enough that you can fit most of Mal in there without causing any obvious conflicts.
That said, I think it would be absolutely hilarious to dump the Firefly crew on the ponies and watch the chaos, but it sounds like you are thinking of a character substitution which is different.
I would prefer to see a crossover with Battlestar Galactica. Seriously, Dash is the perfect Starbuck, and AJ is the ponified Apollo!

Finding Serenity
A neat crossover so far. It could use a little work but overall it is quite good.
I so believe there's one on FF(fanfiction.net) that has the crew of Serenity crash land on Equus (or whatever it is that people care to call the planet) after a Reaver attack.
Unfortunately, IIRC it hasn't been updated for most of a year (or more).

As for Battlestar, that's a hefty order on its own, the theme's, characters and conflicts would have to be we translated in pony versions, if done right than it could be pretty good but most likely a long read, like really long. As fore using alternate intros, it would be cool, but sadly I think the fact that would make it a bit confusing for the younger audiences, but hey you never know.
2231828 I do have an outline being formed for a ponified BSG fic. also, I am having thoughts on a separate HiE fic, where instead of Earth, they end up in Equestria.
2231854 Its always a classic, it could make a interesting take about earth refugees interacting in equestria, like Defiance. Tensions between ponies and humans could from a interesting nertive, just make sure you can properly grasp the characters and themes.
2231876 The HiE one would be perfect for an alliance between the Changelings, Diamond Dogs, and the Cylons.
Lets just be thankful that to Tzar Bomba class nukes survived to that point lol. (The Cylons DID use some in the 50MT range in their initial attack, including one over Caprica City in the BSG pilot. Was not shown, but Adama received the report.)
2231883 True, an Alliance with Changelings and diamond dogs? would the Cylons do such a thing or is there a need to, I mean they do kick the humans asses pretty hard, and when they take over the city that was built latter on there wasn't to much fighting, so you need a pretty good reason for a alliance in the first place, information, spying magic interfering with there tech, something for justification,

2231893 The Changelings would give the Cylons spies, knowledge, and added troops. The Diamond Dogs would give engineering support, as well as added knowledge and more troops.
You have to remember, the Cylons were pretty much wiped out, themselves at the end.
2231906 sounds like decent enough reasons, I would love to see it come to fruition, just make the human and character interactions good, because that always trends to be the beef of HIE stories. And with this idea it can add to more complex themes of unity, death and survival the show utlized and didn't like difference and cultures interacting.

I honestly couldn't say, I only got to see one episode and even then only part of it..but I DID see the movie...and understood the reference joke made on SG-1 about the show.
On the other side of things... I wonder how many questions will get answered... I am sure the readers have quite a few they are curious about.

haven't read much of the first one, but they're both ok, nothing too terrible about them.
Is it even possible? A Firefly fic would probably be a large challenge.
That would be most interesting, althou I might advise the use of OCs as the ponyfied versions of the Serenity crew since most of the MLP cast dont really fit the Firefly one.
What Im personally waiting for is a Macross crossover, but with so few people actually knowing what Macross is the chances for that are slim.

Also Macross should honestly get a bit more exposure, but they didn't quite make the same inroads on the US like some other animes have...though I recall running across a part of it once on a cable channel of sorts a decade back or so.

2232290 I am inclined to agree with you. Coming up with an interesting way for Serenity to appear in equestria for one thing. Not some random magic portal or something with the engines. Unless the later was made to sound very convincing. But Firefly is awesome! So I am all for a crossover.
