Just got an email from Brony Soprano concerning my health (given that my last blog was about me getting Covid, I understand that some might be a bit jittery). Rest assured, I overcame Covid and am in good health lately (probably better health because I've started working out some).
Well, after nearly two years of dodging and playing it safe, I've finally been "blessed" by Grandfather Nurgle's plague. I tested positive for Covid this afternoon.
I'm gonna be an uncle come July!
Rest assured the kid will be raised as a proper servant of the Emperor if I have anything to say about it.

Well, after three days of pain, I finally did my first large scale fanfic review. I chose My Immortal, just to get into the swing of things and get used to the reviewing format, but I am currently taking suggestions for the next review

Why would you do that to yourself. I was cringing in horror from the lines you referenced. How are you still alive.
I expected to find something humorous... but all I can feel is sad for that author. All the energy and time it takes to write a story, and for it all to go so bad... the waste of it all just makes me frown.

Wait, you talked about a fan fiction for speech class? All of a sudden, I feel better about my speech defending Aquaman.
Also, I'm amazed just how oblivious this writer was. She's insulting the gay community, Christians, Harry Potter fans, the elderly, anyone in authority, and anyone who doesn't share her taste in music and fashion. Even ignoring the horrible quality of her writing, why in the world would she think people would respond to this positively? I'm not even sure what demographic she left to not be offended.
And why the heck does Power Girl keep following me in all the articles I'm reading?

Oh my god. This was one of the funniest stories I've ever read. This is the equivalent of the Room. A fan fic that is so incredibly bad that it's actually kind of enjoyable.
I think you did fantastic for your first review. And I really cannot wait to see and read more from you.
As I'm reading the review, I'm not only laughing at your jokes, but some of the decisions she made. I've never read My Immortal, but as bad as I though it would be, is nothing compared to how bad it really is. I was just shocked it was that bad.

2221965 Well good luck. I usually find it best to do a long one and then a couple short ones, so you're not overwhelmed, but you do what you think is best.

My biggest problem is identifying the really bad ones from among the not that bad ones and the good ones
2222034 Sometimes I look at the comments of the story to kind of get an idea of how bad it might or might not be. Granted you have to scan through like 40 people who say "THis is Amazing!" written just like that and usually its not a very reliable source.
The rating system can help, sometimes, but not always. Example is a story where you have a lot of likes, (usually 30 or so) and it turns out that the story is awful, even though it has more likes than dislikes.
Overall, in my opinion, you can never know what is good and what is bad until you get down to it.
