I ramble and try to make sense of a scene in today's episode (Spoilers). · 5:47am Apr 27th, 2014
So, the new episode is here, and my favorite background pony made a cameo. Unfortunately, that cameo is... trying to figure out just how it worked is currently making my brain hurt. For those who aren't familiar with the scene and want to know what I am talking about but don't want to watch the episode, Rarity goes mad with power and decides to fancy up a birthday party by changing the mariachi band into a fancier orchestral piece. Octavia is one of the ponies created/summoned/transformed.
That last line is where the problem is at for me, because each one of those scenarios offers so much hilarious potential for my that story I write occasionally. Created seems possible, certainly Rarity would be familiar with Octavia and so when she is imagining a classical musician, she would naturally imagine the friend who helps her out on occasion. Summoned would be even more interesting and slightly more terrifying as it would require Octavia to be teleported through time and space, and place under a geas to perform, because the way my Octavia is, she would absolutely freak out after being teleported to a filly's birthday party with no damned warning (Although I think a vast majority of Octavia's would freak out if such a thing happened to them, there's being a professional and then there's being a robot).
Now that I think about it, the idea of Octavia being magically compelled to perform at a child's birthday because one of her friends went absolutely insane strikes me as something that is totally in line with the spirit of my story. Look forward to it in a future update.
I instantly thought of this story when I saw Octavia appear. Your Octavia is my cannon Octavia and no-one will tell me any different!
But I would love to see how you incorporate this into your story

One thing that got my attention was this is the first time in the show that Vinyl and Tavi shared an episode. As for Tavi's reaction I mentally see her as performing at an event and then she and the others get summoned and she's all like *shrug* and keeps playing, after all she's had weirder things happen in Ponyville.
