    Anyone at Trotcon?

I am. Let me know and I can say hi.

Also, I've been prepping some chapters of Good Griff to bomb (Steven Unoverse style) and if anyone were interested in editing (I haven't heard from my previous editor, PingSquirrel in a forever) let me know.

    New Year. Resolution.

    TL;DR: Finishing GG this year.

    Long form:
My god, I haven't posted a blog in a year and a half. I posted that place holder chapter for Good Griff and never actually posted a real chapter. I've really left you guys hanging. (That's kind of a joke there, but for reasons I'm not going to get into.) For that, I'm sorry.

Dungeons and Discords and Ogres and Oubliettes, oh my!

I liked the new episode, but I felt like it was a mixed bag. On the one hand, I love the concept of a D&D episode, but I felt like it was poorly executed. The episode felt like it was 2/3 setup. By the time they actually got to the point and Discord put them in the game, I looked at my clock, and it was already 22 minutes into the episode. And then they went to another commercial break. Then they

    PoNYcon NYC!

Anyone going to be at Ponycon NYC this weekend? I am! I'm helping a friend run his table, so I'll be in one spot most of the time, where you can find me, corner me, and, uh... I don't know. Whatever it is people do. So come on down to My Little Ties in the first floor vendor hall if you want to say hi and shake tentacles. (Note: shaking tentacles highly discouraged as you risk your hand getting

    Season 5 Finale

Okay, this might get a bit ranty, so bear with me.

I wanted to like this episode. I knew going into it that it was going to be about time travel. I was psyched. My three favorite story hooks are:
    1) Time travel
    2) Alternate dimensions

So if you read Good Griff!, you almost certainly read the original Five Score, Divided By Four. So you almost certainly know that that story as ended (minus the epilogue). Sad times. Also, Gilda wasn't in it. Double sad times. Twisted and I had messaged each other a few times since he had opened up the possibility of crossovers about him intending to use Gilda. He had said he planned on using her, not just for a brief cameo shoutout, but for an actual story purpose. There was going to be a dragon or some other such big baddy and Gilda was going to swoop in and be a big damn hero, all, "Sup, Dashhole." and hold the monster off while the main characters went on to do their important things. But he forgot to add her at the farm. So she was just going to show up out of nowhere to truly big-damn-hero it at the end (that's the convenience of having a friend who's clairvoyant). But then he forgot her again. Needless to say, it's disappointing, but hey, that's how storytelling works. It's his work and he's gotta do what he's gotta do. She might get shoehorned into the epilogue, but you know, whatever, as Gilda might say.

As for my own ending, I had hoped to finish Good Griff! on the one year anniversary of the story (or at least that's what I was looking at back at the beginning of March), but that's a month from tomorrow and that doesn't look to likely. We still have a ways to go yet, figuratively and literally. We still have to get to the main action of the story. The first part was supposed to be the transformation and the forming of the team (any good adventure needs a 5-man party. (The tank, the crowd control, the bard/rogue, the caster dps, and the engineer.) The second part was going to have a fairly short part in Vermont, and then get into the main journey, but took alot longer to get that going than I thought it would (had to rearrange some events) and we've been mired down in character drama and shit. We're just about to start getting underway at the end of this next chapter that is almost done. I thought I was going to have it out pretty soon after the last chapter, seeing as how it was, like, I don't know, 90% done, but hey, it's me. You know how slow and unreliable I am. So yeah, my end is still prolly a ways off. So look forward to that, I guess?

Well, my story never made it into the mainfic, but it's still fine to me as it means I can do my own thing, and it also still got the opportunity to cross over with other 5s/4 stories instead that I've really enjoyed.

Character drama and such are nothing to feel bad/ashamed for, I don't feel it killed the pacing especially since it allowed for a lot of character development especially for Gayle/Gilda and her ties she had in her life pre-griffon and I've enjoyed this story muchly for that.:moustache: I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how she'll resolve all of that.

Also, Sunny Daze is hilarious and provides great comic relief to contrast the two protagonists' darker, more troubled states.

All in all, your slowness doesn't bother me because thus far each chapter's been worth the wait. :moustache:

Just wait for the next chapter in regard to Sunny. I'm super happy with the way he's shaped up. I actually just typed up a whole huge exposition about how my characters have progressed, but I decided to save it for next chapter's author notes. But trust me, if you like Sunny now, you're going to like him more soon.
