Carthaginian military. · 3:57pm Apr 5th, 2014
So I'm thinking about going back and working on Equestrian wars and I figured I fill in my few fans on the organization or the Carthaginian military. The Carthaginian military has three official branches plus two militias that work strictly for the National Socialist Restoration party (the Sashas).
The Reichswehr- meaning "State Defence" this is the army of the Carthaginian Federation. Composing of over 80 divisions and armed garrisons, the Reichswehr is not to be underestimated. Composed of millions of dedicated men and furs to fight for the Carthaginian reich they are highly trained and well equipped with the latest battlefield technology.
Famous Landstreitkräfte divisions include:
The Tenth Armed Garrison "aka" the Tenth Army, led by Field Marshal Georg Solomon. Considered the best armed garrison of the army, the Tenth Army is considered the pride of the Carthage army. Degrelle served in this division back during the Carthaginian civil war and when he took power, he personally assigned it to legendary commander Georg Solomon widely considered the best and most excellent strategist among the Carthaginian generals.
The Wüstenkrieg Korps the "Desert Corps" led by Field Marshal Ulrich Reichter known by his nickname the "Desert Jackal". This groups composed of many armored and ground infantry groups are masters at desert warfare. Ulrich Reichter is a well respected field commander although he personally disagrees with the Sasha party.
The Jaegers. The Jaegers are elite special paratrooper forces trained to survive long periods behind enemy lines with limited supplies. They specialize in airborne assault, counter partisan warfare, sabotage, and recon. While they are official apart of the Army, they are mostly led by the SK and many Jaeger groups are apart of the SK.
The Luftstreitkräfte- meaning "air army forces" is the Air Force of the Carthaginian military. Consisting of dozens of bomber and fighter squadrons, the Carthaginian Air Force is one of the best in their field. Carthage has some of the best fighters and aircraft. The favorite fighter of choice is the Me Bf 109 G but the FW 190 is also very popular with Carthage aces.
Famous pilots include:
Erich Hartmann von Richthofen. He is one of the most skilled pilots in the Luftstreitkräfte. He is a young but very skilled pilot nicknamed the "White Werewolf" do to him painted a white wolf on both his FW 190 and his Me 109. He is a very skilled ace with years of training and experience having been flying planes since he was a kid with his uncle. Beside being a fighter pilot, he also occasionally volunteers as a test pilot flying many new aircraft for the Carthaginian air force.
The Seestreitkräfte- meaning "naval forces". This is the navy armada of the Carthage. If the ground forces are the hammer of the Carthage military, the navy is the anvil. Mostly composed of Edo Carthaginians (the equivalent to the real world Japanese people) the navy is the backbone of the Carthage military. Large and powerful composing of over 10,000 combat ships, this fleet has plenty of strength and firepower to beat any enemy into submission. It also operates it's own naval air force, mostly composed of Mitsubishi planes.
The Cerberus Sturmkommando korps. Not officially apart of the army, the Sturmkommandos or SK are an elite trained militia which operate personally for the Sasha party answering only to Degrelle. They have their own separate armed garrisons and I highly trained and heavily armed. They also serve as Degrelle's personal body guards. They are ruthless fighters and highly dedicated to the Sasha code and they would rather commit suicide then surrender to the enemy.
So this is the Carthage military. Hope any military bronies find it interesting.
Your German is really bad. Couldn't have bothered to just look up the Bundeswehr?
You used Boden to mean ground. It means ground as in soil or turf. There is Grund as a better synonym, but it has meanings similar to foundation or reason. Germans would say something like "Die Landstreitkräfte" The Ground Armed Force, or more simply, Das Heer.
Germans do not tend to use Truppen to refer to soldiers. It can be used to mean something more along the lines of a military, but it is typically used to either describe specific units or pieces of equipment such as APC's or things relating to troops, but seldom to describe the soldiers themselves.
I also recall you saying something about your story taking place with modern arms and equipment. Why am I seeing obsolete planes from the Third Reich? Also, what about the guns?
1985823 Actually, I can't speak German so I relied on Google translate.
1985823 Also I changed it. Now they only have access to WW2 firearms. Their standard issue rifle is the STG 44. Their main battle tank is the Panther. And they use old WW2 radar. Also they do have access to some early Cold War toys.
1985823 Thanks for the correction though. I actually changed the army's name to Landstreitkräfte instead.
