Alright, so for those of you who are aware, Arch of Shadows is roughly halfway done, or so it would feel.
Actually, the conclusion is only two or three chapters away; there is a tremendous amount of filler that I have decided could stand alone as one shot side-stories. At this point, I plan on trimming the non-essential portions of the story, which is actually a significant portion as my pre-reader will notice.
Part of the reason for this decision is that the pacing drops off like a rock in the upcoming chapter, as far as story advancement goes. There is plenty of information introduced, but much less resolution and plot forwarding, and I feel that the story would pace better if I cut out some portions.
They will very likely be seen again, and I will choose wisely what I cut, but for as far as this story goes, as of tonight, I see an end in sight. This story, if all goes as planned, may be finished as early as the 5th of April.
