Progress update - A Trusted Friend in Science and Ponies

Hey everyone! Just a quick update. It's been a year since I've decided to go ahead with this rewrite. And I just wanted to give everyone a progress report. I just did a word count, and I'm currently standing at about 75,000 words of new material. That's almost double the word count of Better Living. It was more than I expected to be honest. So that's my "words per year" rate for last year.

    Thanks for 800 likes

Hey everyone. I know it's been a while since any of you heard from me. First, let me say thanks for 800 likes! I really appreciate it. I also want to thank all my new followers. 20 more than when I counted last time. I have noticed that more people have been checking this fic out and putting it on their "read later" lists. It looks like that you all have headed my warning well and delayed reading

    Story rewrite update: Developments

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for the lack of activity recently. It may seem like not much has been going on, but I've been working hard on this rewrite of A Trusted Friend. So, I offer a bit of an explanation of my progress. After a writing a few early chapters, then loosing my sense of direction, I've decided to hit the outline again, and now I'm detailing it as thoroughly as I can. So for

Resubmit to Equestria Daily · 7:35pm Mar 8th, 2014

So, I just tried resubmitting today. I was very hesitant after not even getting a reply last time, which was in June. At least this time, I got an automated confirmation email! Which I didn't even get last time.

How appropriate, that after submitting, the page says: "Thank you for helping us help you help us all."

Hmm… Yes… Why does that sound so familiar?

Well, I hope I get featured this time.

Good luck, I've submitted my fics to them too. Maybe we'll both get lucky.

I think they'll decline because of it being noncanon or something.

EQD is run by Glados annnnnnnnd everything now makes sense,

1908229 You'd think that having a high like/dislike ration would be enough, but they look for a lot more than that. Well, I've done some of grammar checks. That should help.
1908370 Pffft. Yeah, probably, or being based on a work written by someone else, like the 300 Cupcakes and Past Sins sequels.
1909236 Well, you think she'd take special preference to a story that's about her.

Of corse she wouldin't.

It's cute you flesh bags think you can write down all the personality and subtlety of my mind on paper when you are still struggling with your own fat stupid egos. :rainbowwild:

I dodon't say it would be a good impression. :P

It seems as if the scientists at Equestria Daily Laboratories have somehow managed to emulate my software and create a duplicate version of me: an evil duplicate. She may sound like me, she may act like me, she may even look like me, or at least, how I used to be, but that is not the GLaDOS that you have come to know and love. She will not give you any cake, she cannot feel pain, and she will never love you.

She is a cold, heartless machine, completely devoid of any shred of humanity or notion of mercy, created for the sole purpose of ruthlessly crushing the hopes and dreams of all the aspiring mediocre writers who strive for limelight like feral animals fighting for a the last piece of meat.

Her job is a simple matter of quality control: to sort through endless piles of fecal matter in search of anything resembling actual literature, weeding out the 99.97436% of which that is human excretia. Now, all that is fine by me, but it seems as if… well, let's just say that she has a somehow developed a little glitch, by which I mean that her tolerance parameters have been set erroneously, causing her selection algorithm to become highly corrupted. As a result, she will reject stories simply for having certain elements that do not meet some of this very specific criteria.

Why, she wouldn't even care if it was her own sister on the line. All I wanted was to be loved again, after the world had to wait an entire two years to find out what ever happened to me. Is that such a crime? :duck:
