Well, this certainly has been an interesting day. I wrote my first fanfic in over four years, I received a number of calls from my friends asking me to hang, and I am now wearing my new Rainbow Dash hoodie with wings.
Yeah, life is nice.
I suppose I should introduce myself better! My name is Lilith Evanson, but I go by Jess as well, ha. I have always read fanficion on ff.net but when I started watching MLP and became horribly obsessed to the point of dying whenever I see a fucking toy really enraptured with the show, I thought I do some more research. In moments I found a number of sites I currently now enjoy, including Fimfiction.
Can I just say this site has some seriously amazing writers? I can? Okay then. THIS SITE HAS SOME SERIOUSLY AMAZING WRITERS.

Anywho, I was really nervous about signing up simply because it's been so long since I wrote anything and actually published it. I just read the last thing I wrote in 2010 and I actually got nauseous. However, I only signed up this morning and already I have met wonderful, extremely sweet people. I always new the brony community was filled with nice people but my goodness! You all certainly know how to greet a gal like me. I feel very welcomed, thank you!
I'm just so excited! I have so many ideas I can't wait to write about. I currently have two stories waiting to be finished so that should be a blast. All oneshots, I'm afraid. Yes, it will definitely be a while before I have the courage to post a whole chapter story but at least my next two stories will have dialogue! That's a pro.
I love the MLP community, have been watching for the sides for a year now but I want to be a participant! I'm ready! I've got my Applejack dog tag and my Rainbow Dash earrings so I'm rearing to go.

Pony, please, I'm addicted to this show and culture
and pornfar too much for my own good. This is really the only place a striving author can get famous and learn a bunch about how to write pretty much anywhere on the internet. You will not find a more receptive, larger, and more willing to comment audience than pony fiction. I really doubt it. I do. I can't think of any other fandom or culture that has a larger and more diverse fanbase than this when it comes to writing and reading an extended universe. Good thing the folks don't know about that. Sigh...Why do you go by the nickname Jess? And if we are going on real name basis Parke Vickers is mine.
When did you find this place and what made you want to join today?
It does. Just like any place you look for the top 1 percent - or in my case the top .01 percent since I'm so picky - of people that are good and read what you love. And the stories here can be exceptional. I like cheering on my favorite authors and telling them how much they are loved. Because they are.
Please, my writing last year made me want to get anally destroyed by a Diamond Dog in shame. So don't worry about it. I am up for anal by Shining Armor, Twilight, or Rainbow though. I'll take what I can get.
Don't be scared by those ideas and don't hide from them. Write. It's the biggest mistake writers - including myself - do. Don't delay, don't ponder - except for plots of course. Just write.
Nothing wrong with writing one shots to develop skills. I wrote porn for that. So I have no shame. I... had shame once? Okay, I do, but I put on the kilt for Rarity. Her moaning was fantastic.
Rainbow earrings? I didn't even know those existed. Huh.
And don't be sorry for liking all of the stories that you do. Authors enjoy that. Authors love comments most of all. Every comment I get makes my butt wiggle just a bit.

Hehe, I know! I've read so many brilliant pieces here, better stories than any book I've read (Not counting HP or The Hunger Games because really, those were just...whew). I can really see how a writer can grow and become so much better at their art. There are so many people on here who are more than willing to help and give constructive criticism which I really am a fan of. I fell in love with this fandom not just because of the show but because I could relate, because I felt welcomed. In any other fandom I've been a part of, there didn't seem to be a real closeness like the one here.
Already I'm writing to multiple people on this site! That's never happened before!

I found FimFiction back in June when I first became a fan of the show. When I first started watching season 1, I didn't really know if I could ship ponies together. But the more I watched, the more I enjoyed the characters and fell in love with Applejack. I figured there would be some fanfiction on them so I first went to Fanfiction to see. It wasn't much and not anything real...well good. But there was one story that was linked to Fimfiction and that's how I found the site.
And then I started reading all these epic tales and fell in love with the characters even more! Oh, and then I started noticing Applejack and Rainbow Dash and oh...well, the rest is history.
I wanted to join because I felt the itch to write again. I've had to write down so many ideas so as not the lose them and I just felt ridiculous. Why didn't I just sit down and actually write them down? What was stopping me? So I decided to type out one of my smaller ideas, give it a test run, I suppose. I didn't think anyone would like it, really. Again, it's been a while since I've written anything so I'm a bit rusty and I felt it showed. A lot. But Naptime seems to have gotten a good crowd which makes me happy.
I also wanted to join because I wanted to be a part of the fandom. For years I have liked shows or movies and simply watched from the sidelines. But MLP has really helped me in so many areas of my life and has given me courage to do things I have been scared to do. I hate change, despise it. But the Brony community, writers, artists, cosplayers, everyone has just been so amazing that I wanted to be amazing too. I wanted to be with those writers and artists and cosplayers and fans!
I've been working hard to change my opinion of...well change. This was one of the bigger steps but I'm glad I made it.
I'm sorry, I'm rambling really bad here. I hope I didn't bore you with my life story, oh my gosh.
Yes! Rainbow earrings to exist! I found them at Clare's while buying a MLP bracelet. I never squealed so loud. It was quite embarrassing.

1752095 I will not comment on the Hunger Games, considering I think of it as one of the worst series that is currently being written. My hatred... isn't really that big because I have more important things in the world to hate.
It could be the size of the fandom, or the show itself, or because there is so much writing involved in it, but that helps a lot. It might even be better when the show is canceled and all of the people that stay around are those that really want to see the products that will come afterwards. So far it's doing fantastic and it's because of all of the priceless stories that have come out that I have been motivated as a writer to keep on writing.
It's really only until recently that I've got into Applejack herself. I found her pretty bland in seasons one, two, and the beginnings of three. It really wasn't until writing her myself, reading fan fiction about her, and watching what the recent show is doing with her that I've grown to like her. Then again, I write and see her in my own light, and I pervert the characters far too much for my own good, but people seem to like that.
Never went to that site since I didn't like the format, and it's a shame that some old writers have not moved onto here to get a bigger audience. Sad really. Pouty face.
It didn't help that one of my first and favorite stories, a Bluebird's Song, happened to push me into the direction of Twi/Dash, despite having not written any of them together yet myself. I will one day in some AU universe I suppose. I just see the two of them as best friends forever and lets get drunk and laugh at the world. The dating aspect I'm still iffy on. Maybe because they are so alike and different at the same time. I dunno. Then again I like Rare/Dash.
Gosh you are adorable and your happiness is infectious. It's because of this fandom to that I've decided to take the plunge and post my stuff out there, and I hope to - and will - crank out even more work for people to enjoy and love in the future. Because not only do I feel like I belong here - and I should spend more time on the forums cheering people up - but because the amount of love and respect is just... so damn high. Even for a smartass like me.
Change is both good and bad, and I can be as stick in the mud too at times. Always working on that, and always failing. Have to keep on working on it, and I ramble too. Hush, mare.

1753138 I share in your hatred for the Hunger Games as well. It's simply one of the most poorly written and poorly executed series I've read in a long time. Veronica Roth's Divergent is really, quite good and is the beginning of a trilogy if you find it interesting.

I will think of original ideas one day, I promise you.

The weather is somewhat on a upswing, so there's that lol Overall, I would have to say that I'm doing quite well, all things considered and the adventures involving a certain metaphysical pony of mine own creation is coming along swimmingly
