Rainbows and cupcakes and lesbian ponies. Shippers and cloppers and all of the bronies. Applejack licking all up Rainbow's wings. These are a few of my favorite things!

A struggle between light and dark. · 8:25pm Apr 24th, 2014

Don't you hate it when you think of an idea that is extremely uplifting and heartfelt only to write it dark and scary?

I am hitting myself in the head for this. I really am. See, I'm writing this story and the original concept was going to be happy, meaningful, and family safe. However, as I was editing the first half of it, I starting thinking about the reality of the situation my characters were in. Things would not be happy and go lucky in real life with the problem the two characters in my story are facing. In fact, it would most likely be chaos. The idea was so simple when I came up with it but it just didn't seem as complicated as I wanted it. So I added a bit of drama and that's when I noticed how unrealistic the whole situation was.

I want to write it as realistically as I can but I also want to keep the original happiness that was intended. Maybe the story will be better being a chaotic mess instead of the joyful story I was aiming for?

Honestly, it's a fucking toss up.

P.S. Soooo...they made a MLP p0rno. With real people. And I downloaded it. And I actually liked it. So yeah, there you go.

I really want to do a review on it.

Okay, bye.

EDIT: Can we please talk about it!?

I've seen this sort of thing happen before: a seemingly simple premise gets developed, the author cheerfully outlines and develops and types away, and then someone looks at it askance and asks "wait, but doesn't that mean... :rainbowderp:"

I've seen several stories taken down when some commenter pointed out the unfortunate implications of a comedy. Even when I understand or agree with the authors' reasoning, it's still a sad moment. :raritydespair:

Of course, whether or not your story would work as 'dark and crazy', rather than 'cheerful and care-free' depends on the premise, and since you didn't elaborate, all your readership can say is "maybe...?" :duck:

Really? It took four entire years before someone tried it? With how popular clop fics are, it was only a matter of time. :twilightblush:

...yes? :applejackconfused:

Yeah, the original idea was simple and carefree but as I continued to edit the story it all just seemed so...I don't know, fake, I guess. I didn't want to explain the idea because I didn't want to spoil anything too much but the story deals with a small filly helping out a very hurt friend. I originally has the idea of the filly knowing exactly what to do in her tough situation but this kid is just that, a kid!

Thank you for your imput. I think I am actually going to keep the story dark in the beginning then lighten it up as I go along. But seriously, thank you!

Yes! After so long a group of people actually made a video! The acting was terrible and they mostly did it for fun but you could tell the actresses had a great time with it, which makes me happy! I'm glad they had more fun and goofed off then actually taking it seriously, it was enjoyable more than it was hot, haha!
