And what's more, I can prove it. Kind of.
As per my promise to do stuff over the holiday break, I totally did stuff. The mileage isn't astonishing, but trust me when I say that this is just the beginning, and that I have way more words in my notes now than I did before. As for the actual story itself, the "write and don't stop writing until you feel like it's time to edit" version is currently only eight-thousand words long, but that's the prologue, and I wrote four-thousand of it today. It was fun as hell. Yeah, this project is going to work out great (not sarcasm). If I can still put down four-thousand words in about three hours then I haven't gotten rusty at all, and this could happen faster than I thought it would.
I will probably continue writing the rest of the night, and am only taking a break from writing the story to write this blog, so even when I take breaks from writing, I'm writing.
I don't think anyone still has dreams for me to crush, or fucks to give, but in case you do I'd like to reiterate that I'm not currently sharing this work I'm doing. Hence why I can't really, actually prove I've been working. You'll just have to take my excited, run-on-ish banter about it as proof.

In other news, I didn't break my leg while skiing as anticipated, the alternator went out in my car on the way to the airport, I made my flight anyways by God's divine grace (also known as typhoon level rain in winter), and just generally had a great time emotionally, and a shitty time financially. Since I apparently do not get paid for holidays that the company literally prevents me from working during by policy, things have been a little tight wallet wise, and I've been reduced to swallowing my pride and accepting money from people that I have no way of paying back anytime soon, which is the worst kind of debt, because they don't care if I pay them back right away, but I care a shitload.
So I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it's all been overwhelmingly neutral. Most of the time it feels like it's going bad, but that's because all the good things happened at the start of the month, not in the middle of all my problems, so their weight in my life is a little miscalculated right now. Hopefully the numbers line up when I look back on it a while from now, and I can spin it all a bit more positively than just saying 'oh well' like I have been.
Anyways, looking forward to an awesome (yes sarcasm) semester of eight am classes and full time work, recurring car troubles, tight paychecks, and stuff of that nature. Also looking forward to the awesome (not sarcasm) things that will help balance all that out, like writing, going to the bar, working on Cavalry Studios stuff, and being better at my job than the guy we just hired in for double my salary. It's like having a really, really expensive puppy, but at work.
Happy belated Christmas and Drunken-Forgiveness Day. That's New Year's Day for you delusional people. Time is relative, so there is no New Year, but it's the only day of the year where everyone is drunk and nobody cares at all. So let's call it what it is.
