Hi there, followers old and new. And ROYALS fans.
Royals was always intended to be a short story. It got a bit longer, but I didn't want THIS part of the story to go long. The date, mixed in with the flashbacks, was the tale. Given the response and how much fun it was to put together, there will be a follow up later on.
But here's the thing- it came from a prompt that Cola Bubble Gum brought to me- namely what if DT and SB, as teens, were forced to spend the night tgoether at a sleepover? Bitter enemies forced to actually have a conversation? What if DT's mom had died, and what if no one else knew about it?
From there (don't ask how) I got the idea- what if the reason for the sleepover is that Rarity and FR are dating? What if they're worried their siblings/kids don't get along? What if they try to make them get along- before telling them that they were dating... what would happen then?
What if, what if, what if....
I give you...
I worked backwards. Cola worked forwards. Our fingerprints are all over each other's stories.
I 100% recommend this story. It's a beautiful, painful and real teenage story. RUM PUNCH, a story about young kids as a chaser to my story of older ponies. When I get around to the next ROYALS story, RUM PUNCH is what happens in the in-between. And the ending is a humdinger.
(And to those who were sad ROYALS ended so soon- I did say it was a three part story....)
