Crossroads (Commissions?) · 3:35am Oct 22nd, 2014
Hi there.
You may have noticed the pile of unfinished stories.
I don't want to put any on hiatus (although, to be honest, I wouldn't hold your breath on The Cells) but I'm having major trouble continuing them to a point where I'm happy. So I (we?) have a problem.
I know the responsible thing would be 'just do the work'. But I've been telling myself that for awhile. The reality is, the last completed thing I did was a contest, and that's because I had a deadline. Well, I'm not sure what contests there are, and I don't just want to go from one to the other. The solution, really, seems to be: deadlines. Not set by me. Also, I seem to thrive when the original seed isn't my idea, but something I build off of (that's where Faster and Royals came from).
So! What the hell. I am opening up shop for commissions.
Imagine the Fritters are Stories
Never done one before. But let's see if this gets engines running.
Rules are simple:
A) One shot unless I decide there's enough there. You don't have to have the completed idea, but I'd like more than 'A Twilight Story.' It can be as bare bones as 'Applejack goes to the Dentist', but not that idea, as it's been done.
B) Genre is wide open, with a few caveats: I don't do grimdark. I don't do gore. I do do that voodoo known as creepy, dark and sad. But the bodies will not, as they say, hit the floor. If you want a HiE or Crossover better be really clever.
C) Since the point is to produce, you'll have to give me a deadline. I will ask the usual suspects of editors, who will get the requisite credit. I get final cut and I will put it on my account, but you get the idea/concept credit. If you're unhappy with the product, I will not publish it, but just send it to you.
D) I will work for art, a meager amount of money or some other thing. I have no idea what is fair, so, talk to me. You owe nothing until it's done.
Will this be a resounding success?
Or a total disaster?
No idea.
And here... we....
...go!
It's too bad, but I understand. The downside of the "serial" format is the risk of losing inspiration. But no, once it ceases to be enjoyable for you and you are just writing for us, I don't think it's good for anyone. Hopefully you get some good suggestions, and get the ol' creative gears turning again.
Egads! I've been found out! A suspect!
I'd offer to commish, but as I am broke, I could only trade my lucrative writing services...
...or my meager artistic skills in shoe-painting.
Standing by, ready to take on the challenge. HAVE AT THEE, FOUL ERRORS!
I hope this works out well for you!
If your a fan of "great gatsby" you should write " The Fat Fancy" fat= cool/not obese, with similar themes. I'd love to pay you, but I'm poor.
I'd pay you in Steam keys.
I am one and at peace with my chopped-liver-ness.

I can pay you in EA games! >_>
(And I'd commission you to work on adorkable love. Bwahaha. )
