Rarity's Daily GemFlax Seed's Spirit Quest
Far out banner art by, like, Harwick
I'm Flax Seed, and I'm beaming this message out to all Equestria through the power of print. It's crazy! I feel like we're all becoming one mind, sharing in the journey to enlightment together, like we've reached a new plane of existence made of pure positive thinking and newsprint. Whoa!
My friend Rarity is basically my spirit-guide: she's always helping me read my aura so I can follow my one true path, like last year when she explained what taxes are, and helped get Big Mare to back off and leave the farm alone. Or when she figured out that the pan-dimensional psychic convergence in Sedonkey was probably going to be delayed for, like, at least a year, and helped pull all our bits out of that power pyramid business. Or when Tofu got abducted by space ponies and Rarity somehow knew they'd left him in the sugar shed at the back of the farm (he was all jittery and confused, but otherwise totally fine). Or, like, today, when she bailed me out after I got lost in Canterlot and somehow ended up recharging my energy in this crazy fancy dressing room all painted with moons and stars and stuff. Trippy! This tall blue lady who found me and woke me up seemed really agitated about something, but Rarity totally got her to mellow, and even introduced me later. I only wish I could remember that lady's name now!
Anyway, I guess I'm the co-consensual elected spiritual advisor of Flax & Wheat Beauty - we sell all those goops and stuff ponies like to smear on themselves. Crazy, right? My life-bond-partner Wheat Grass runs most of the stuff, but I still work the machines sometimes, and on weekends I go into town to make sure everything is groovy at Tempeh's shop in Canterlot. Rarity lets me crash at her place, which is great, because this green unicorn who lives here always helps me get a drum circle going in the courtyard, which is supposed to happen later tonight if the planets are singing.
I guess I'm supposed to share a deep thought to set your brain on fire with the light of knowledge and righteousness, right? That's what Rarity does, I'm sure. Um, well, Wheat Grass told me last week that she read some book about a seagull who somehow flies into outer space and can then like, teleport around like some kind of crazy unicorn bird. I could be wrong about any or all of that, but, anyway, Wheat Grass said it changed her whole perspective on life and everything. I tried to read it, too, but it just sort of made me start thinking that all the birds on the farm were watching me. I put the rooster in time-out until he stopped staring at me, and then I slept for, like, two days. So it wasn't a total loss.
Maybe that's the lesson here. Sometimes you just need to listen to your body and take naps, and if everything is in alignment, it'll all work out for the best. Like, that angry blue lady ended up buying a thousand tubs of glowmelon withers cream, and, before Rarity got me out, I taught the other stallions in the holding cell how to center themselves through meditation in exchange for this nice letter opener carved out of a block of soap and a toothbrush handle. It's a beautiful world, brothers and sisters. Namaste.
Oh, also, Flax & Wheat Beauty is having a special Hearth's Warming promotion on Lavender-Honey Mane & Tail Wash at the Canterlot shop. Like, fifteen percent off and bonus points on our club card. Rejuvenating your body and spirit has never been so reasonably priced!

Like, far out, man. I would totally get some Lavender-Honey Mane & Tail Wash, if only I had a mane and tail to wash with it! Can I use it to wash my man hair and beard, or would that be, like, crossing my spirit streams or something?

What episode did this guy show up in? I know I've seen him before, but the MLP Wiki didn't seem to have him listed.

Flax Seed and Wheat Grass are from Rarity's micro-series comic. They're two of the more popular characters to come from the comics, but they haven't yet appeared on the show.

Ah. Okay, thanks. I keep hearing that issue is one of the best; I need to get around to buying it one of these days.
It takes a very dedicated space cadet to aimlessly wander into what are presumably some of the most highly-secured areas of Canterlot. Predictably, however, our man Flax here was up to the job.

And likely won't sadly.
Your spot on rendition of Flax Seed demonstrates why.
I hope that tall pony got a good deal on all of that product after Flax's inadvertent intrusion. I think she and her sister must use a lot of product to get their signature look.
Flax's entry did not disappoint! I would love to see him become a member of Rarity's recurring supporting cast. As it is, I'm just happy that he and the products of his farm have made some more background appearances in the comic.
Now if you'll excuse me, there's a drum circle I want to try to get in on...
When the moon is in the second house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars....Then, peace will guide the planets! And love will steer the- Nah, never gonna happen.
I'm pretty sure if Flax Seed made it onto the show, it would immediately get shut down by angry parents thinking their children are getting high just by watching him.
They might actually be right, too.
This was absolutely perfect, by the way.
I want to name my kid Juan Salvador Gaviota. That's the name of Jonathan Livingston Seagull in the spanish translation of the book. Of course that would lead to other kids making fun of him.
Can't stop staring at dat header,
Flax meets the Princess of the Night. Reaction? "Whoa! You're tall and very blue!"
Okay, let's try and decipher this. The tall, blue mare is obviously Luna. The green one is probably Lyra and Big Mare = Big Mac? Boy, how high did you have to be to make that mistake, Flax?

Big Mare is the establishment, man... The fascist government oppressors who, like, want money for their wars and stuff.
Or for roads and schools and whatever. I don't know... Don't trust any pony over 30.
