How Season 4 will affect TATSATC and its sequels · 6:11pm Nov 23rd, 2013
First thing's first. Premiere. Good premiere, not particularly great. Season 2's was better. More on that in a few months when I roll out my ratings for each episode/2-parter, like I did for Season 3.
I wondered about this for a bit while I was writing, especially with the Comic-Con preview showing the rise of Nightmare Moon. I was like "What should I do if the show Josses things I write? What if it Josses things I want to write?" etc. etc. Well, I will go over that as we come to it. For example, what I know now.
1) The Rise of Nightmare Moon: Being left alone. It mostly appears as though I can leave that entire chapter untouched, sans a few details (I'll have to edit the stone balls as little gems). Other than that, I'll just leave it be.
2) The Old Castle (as in "Castlemania"). I've already changed some details in the one chapter Nova visits the Old Castle in the present. Nothing else to do here.
3) Of course, Twilight and Nova. Well, quite simply, allow me to hand-wave. Sort of. Sort of a hand-wave, sort of Alternate Universe. Continuity from the Equestria Prime universe will have some effect on this one. I will nod to events. Nova will, naturally, remain unseen. However, as the overall plot has nothing to do with Season 4, I think I'll just be all like "Season 4 takes place between TATSATC and the next one (which I'm still thinking up a name for). That being said, as I come to them, I'll have to explain things. But that's the fun of being a fanfic writer, eh? Sometimes show plot twists mess with you, sometimes they help. Twilicorn, for example, gave me an ending on a silver platter. I OMNOMNOM'ed it up.
All in all, should be a fun experience. As for a writing update, as of right now, I'm 6,300 words into Chapter 1 of my as-yet-unnamed sequel. Still think I might write a couple of little on-shot filler side-story chapters to tack on to the end before starting the second one.
Well, stay pony my friends.
Rytex out. Have a good day!
