So, here we are. After a year, Twilight Sparkle: Night Shift is at the doorstep of its finale. I remember awkardly fumbling around in Gimp to paste the fic's display picture together like it was yesterday.
Goodness, how far we've come.
This blog post is basically a huge thank you to all of Night Shift's readers. Frankly, had it not been for the downright amazing response the fic got at the beginning, I probably would never have gone past the first few chapters. You kept my spirits up. Seeing my fic hit the Feature Box, update after update? That's pretty amazing.
I (Microsoft) painted this masterpiece way back during last year, after a dream I've had. I knew I'd have to use it somewhere. Do you recognise it?
Those of you who have read up until the latest chapters of Night Shift have by now seen the Author's Notes at the bottom that detail how the fic was entered to a community voted contest. If you haven't, here's where you can vote. Remember that you can vote every day, so even if you've voted already, you can do it again.
The contest ends tomorrow; I'll also be removing said Author's Notes from the fic once the poll closes.
As for what's coming: I'm going to give a little time for everyone to catch up on the story. A week or two, or so -- and then, with a final batch of updates, Night Shift will end. I won't say it's going to be a happy ending. I won't say it'll be a sad ending. All I can say is that I sincerely hope that it will be a satisfying ending.
On one hand, I'm incredibly sad that it'll be over soon. On the other hand, I am overjoyed. It's been a good run... hasn't it?

But happy that this can only mean the start of something even better. (No pressure.
So long as its a good ending, not the nature of cruddy ends that feel like it was tossed out there as an afterthought.
Just discovered this at 3:15 AM and it's now 7:50. Looking forward to when the finale chapters come out.
