Ditzy vs Derpy · 4:28am Oct 20th, 2013
You know, I never understood why people call Derpy 'Ditzy Doo'
I mean, I wouldn't mind if it was just a preference, but you occasionally get your bleeding hearts who fill their heads with silly and say things like 'Derpy is an insulting name because it insinuates this and that'. I find this argument silly, considering 'derp' is not even a real word - it was made up by Matt Stone and Tray Parker, I do believe, in what can be equated to being extremely clumsy/clutzy - which Derpy is. The negative connotations of the word (or rather the offensive ones) are little more than the result of people who read too deeply into the concept.
So, everytime I see someone call Derpy 'Ditzy Doo' I can't help but find myself thinking 'please tell me this isn't someone who thinks the name is mean - because Ditzy is not much better at all.'
But that's just my thought.
(Also? Lauren Faust preferes 'Derpy'. HAH!)
I agree. The whole "scandal" of Derpy being an offensive name doesn't make any sense at all. The name fits her, and it's not there trying to offend anyone.
Also, I didn't know Lauren used it, but other than that I have the excat same oppinoin.
