Hey, you know that really good author who has quality stories that everyone loves? I'm not that guy, he's over there. I'm that mediocre guy that's lucky to have as many followers as I do. Thanks!!!

tfw you get more writing done in the last 2 weeks than you did in the 50 before that...

Fuck's sake. With everything going on and with my self-imposed deadline coming up, I've been able to get a ton of writing done. Hopefully I can have the rewritten Chapter 16 ready to go, but it should be ready within the month.

Large part of it is because this chapter grew in size again. I don't know what it'll be when it finishes, but it's looking pretty hefty.

Word Counts - Interesting Facts · 5:28am Oct 17th, 2013

It is a fact that I have published 200,658 words in The Apprentice, the Student, and the Charlatan at this point in time in 18 chapters.

It is also a fact that the first three Harry Potter books combine for 269,338 total words in 57 chapters.

This means J.K. Rowling averaged about 4,725 words per chapter in her first three Harry Potter books. I'm averaging 11,804 words per chapter in mine. Almost three times as many as her.

Overall, J.K. Rowling wrote 1,084,170 total words in the Harry Potter series in 199 chapters, averaging out to about 5449 words per chapter. I'm writing just over double that.

Why do I make a mountain out of such a molehill, you ask? Well, it just struck me. I always thought her chapters were longer than they actually were. If someone made a book out of TATSATC now, with the same spacing as the HP, same format, etc., it would be slightly thicker than Goblet of Fire, but still not quite as thick as Order of the Phoenix. As for what I have planned for TATSATC including its ending and such, we're looking at a book about 20,000 words longer than Order of the Phoenix. Given the same formatting, we'll use a formula to figure out about how man pages longer that is.

As it is the easiest, we will be using Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (UK Version). It was 76,994 words long, split up on 223 pages. That puts it at about 346 words per page. 20,000/346 = ~58. The total page count in the UK version of Order of the Phoenix is 766. So, 766+58 = 824. We're looking at a book 824 pages long, not accounting for page breaks and chapter endings.

And consider that I think the second story will be even longer than that! It's going to take over a year since I first published Chapter 1 to finish this bad boy up, and I had thought I would get this done during the summer! Now imagine this, but even longer!

Yeah, so I'm feeling proud that I've accomplished all of this. Just felt like bragging a little bit. All of this in my first actual massive effort at writing a good story,
