Visionary Music Mk. II · 2:11am Oct 9th, 2013

You all know what time it is. Time again for music from our good friend SocraticBrony, who, like me, has been spending too much time in real life, and denying us all the music that we want. While perhaps it is not the HoaD OST piece we were all expecting, it is no less deserving of our attention.

I am pleased to present you with his latest work of art, and (as it should by now go without saying) to shamelessly exaggerate that it is perfect in every way.

As always, Socratic has outdone himself, this time with a most masterful use of male and female choirs to carry the melody. This piece represents the conversation between Chrysalis and the Changeling Council, right at Visionary's beginning. I find that the imposing nature of the council and their implied power, as well as Chrysalis' shame and defeat, if not necessarily regret, are made perfectly clear. Perhaps more clear than I made them in the short section of the story itself, which inspired this piece.

The second track of the Visionary OST, generously created gratis by SocraticBrony, is aptly named Fallen Queen.

As always, clicking the picture at the top will take you to the video, or you can just play it at the bottom of the blog. This is my way of hopefully tricking you all into reading what I have to say about this magnificent bastard and his musical creations.

I have this one downloaded and on repeat,
Razorbeam.

P.S. - Here, you lazy bastards.

Always a treat.

Always.

Always glad to hear something from Socratic, kind of wondering if that story of his got cancelled though.

As my most recent comment on the story describes, something tells me I'm willing to wait for as long as you need for this one. It's a cool idea with that mythic tone that I just can't seem to read enough of.

I'm thinking the reason I can't seem to forget it is the way it was left. Every cancelled/comatose story I've seen was either low quality, comment-nuked into oblivion, or went on for about thirty thousand words of slowly dropping quality until a merciful execution. Contrarily, Master of Stars was two enjoyable chapters of pure hook and set-up, then silence.

I'd like to think there are more and I'm just being the most vocal, but at least one person will still be waiting when Chapter Two makes its blessed arrival.
