RBDash47 is closing the Pony Fiction Vault and that makes me very sad. The dude has been working hard and showcasing the best of the best, with interviews, for a long time now. I am proud, deeply, that he considered my work worthy of inclusion there, and I will always be grateful for all that he's done for me. The man is a badass, is what I'm saying, and everyone should stop by the site and throw some respect his way. Hello again! Feels like it's been a while. How is everyone?
I'll spare you all the lame excuses and long-winded rambling about not being around. Long story short, I had to change jobs, again, and move, again, and yes my life is awesome and stable thank you very much.
So no, I haven't been writing much lately. Luckily, there is still a new PVU chapter being posted, courtesy of the ever-awesome Device Heretic. There's no "Who wrote what part" caveat this time, either. This is pure, uncut DH writing. The good stuff.
A little bit of backstory to this - context, if you will:
I don't think I'm very good at writing anything involving Twilight/Celestia.
I'm not against the pairing - I think it can be very awesome, and it's delightfully canon (har har.) But I think it's just one of those things as a writer that I don't connect with like I do other characters or pairings. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about here - certain characters, I feel like I can just be in their head effortlessly, and their voice flows from the keyboard. Others, not so much. It has nothing to do, I think, with what characters you like or don't like, it just is. Pinkie Pie, for example - I like Pinkie Pie just fine, but I'm sure some of you have noticed I don't write much involving her, and I've never written from her perspective. I just don't feel qualified.
Twilestia is like that for me.
Anyway, at some point I thought a little bit of Twilestia was in order for PVU. I didn't have any specifics planned out, I just thought it would be neat. I mentioned this to DH, as one does, and he very instantly had many very good ideas, far and beyond anything I had come up with. I should probably mention that Device Heretic is, as far as I am concerned, one of the foremost authorities on the pairing and an undisputed master of this craft. DH writing Twilestia is like asking Bob Ross to paint a happy little tree or listening to Carl Sagan explain how many stars are in our galaxy - the dude is in his element, is what I'm saying.
So I asked him if he'd be interested in doing the chapter, since at that point I'd just be cribbing his ideas anyway. This coincided nicely with me moving and starting a new job at stuff as well. And that's where we are at now. I really enjoyed it, and I think it's an excellent addition to the story.
I'll be back for the next chapter - things are slowly settling down for me and I'm itching to get back in the groove. Clouds/Earth has also been on the back burner for a long while, and I'm eyeing up those half-finished chapters I was working on for that as well. Looking forward to posting again!

Disagree with you being bad at Twilestia. RR alternate ending was very satisfying and the hints in that direction you put in the base story was what actually inspired my interest in the paring.
Well you may not like your Pinkie Pie but I must say I find your Pinkie intriguing as you keep her as being a mystery, in her chaotic ways, but still understandable. She tends to have a those hidden depths we all like to see such as when she was explaining to Twilight relationships via the perfect cupcake and with how she treats Rainbow Dash often without Rainbow Dash even realizing that Pinkie is doing something for her, or from an outside view how she is changing Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy feels for the better.
I can see why writing in her POV could be daunting though. It can be hard to describe what Pinkie thinks and does because half the fun of Pinkie pie is not knowing how or why she does things. Still I look forward to everything you write to seeing if you add that little hint of Pinkie Pie and then find myself enjoying everything else because the writing is that good.
Can't wait for that.

I really wish that maybe he could post his fics somewhere where people who wanted to read them had the chance to enjoy them because I would love to read all of his fics completed.

All of his stories are marked complete. Except for Eternal (still gives me goosebumps just mentioning the name) they were one shots. He started two and then discontinued (public) work on them, however. No traces remain on this site of the stories that shall not be named.
I do miss that guy, rampant blog deletion and all. He added a lot of flavor to my day. Sweet balls the man can string a sentence together. Woo *shiver*.
Damn you DH, now I'm going to be all tired in the morning. I definitely would send him booze, except a) I'm underage and a fake ID would be too much of a hassle and b) I don't know his address. Also c) I'm broke.
Seriously though, that chapter made me all warm and tingly on the inside. I can't stop smiling.

I've very much enjoyed your writing, but I haven't read PVU yet - though I went right off and read most of Scar Tissue, and of course it was awesome. And now I'll go back and read it from the beginning. You and DH make a remarkable writing team!
Two more things: You undoubtedly know your strengths as an author, but I have to disagree with you on Twilestia: Unless you haven't told us something about who authored of the Alternate Ending to Romance Reports, I think you do a wonderful job of pairing those two.
And, I've been looking forward to more chapters of Clouds/Earth for a LONG time. Seeing you finish that would be... nice.
