Three thousand words, been in contact with the editors. Turns out he conversation between Spike and Twilight is giving me more trouble than i thought... First one was way to melodramatic (Thanks Chief Big Tree for pointing that out) and my current one is...kinda dark and will probably throw every one for a loop, so yeah going to tone it down.
Also going to make the statement now so that later down the line I won't get flamed for it, but Twilight (and by extension everyone else) are not their cannon counter parts, they are different and have slightly different traits and experiences that will turn up later. Honestly cannon Twilight wouldn't last five minutes in half the action/dark fics on this site anyway, she's kinda weak, naive and totally unfit for the rage of war. So yeah, just saying now, there will be deviations from cannon though i will try to keep as close as i can without sacrificing the story.
Having not-completely-canon characters is fine, quite honestly (so long as you don't go too far with it). It's understandable considering a lot of fanfictions are written in plot environments that are moderately or very different from the show. It'd be hard to predict the characters' exact reactions to a situation unless we actually saw it, and for that to happen it would have to happen within the show itself (of course, that's highly unlikely). However, canon (personality wise) also differs from person to person. One person could say that Fluttershy would help an injured timberwolf and nurture it back to full health (I know they can automatically regenerate, but just bare with me for the sake of an example), and someone else could say that Fluttershy would be scared of the timberwolf and leave it to be on its own. It's sort of an opinion kinda deal, I suppose.
Just know that warning a fire in advance that it shouldn't get too big isn't going to stop it...
