I wrote this for a random shipping game in the Writers group. where you were supposed to ship two random characters.
Well, I slapped something together from what I drew. It's first draft quality without much revision, and I am not planning on doing more with it. I don't really write shipfics anyways. Still, here's a little drabble that ships Derpy Hooves with Silver Spoon. :P
Well, this sucked. Stupid assignment. Cheerilee just had to assign writing projects to be done in teams, and had to pick them at random. This'd be so much easier if she could have worked with Diamond. But no, she was stuck with Dinky. She'd thought about just making Dinky do the whole thing, but she wanted a good grade on this. So she was stuck tagging along to Dinky's home after school.
She kicked a stone petulantly.
Dinky, naturally, was oblivious as ever. She just skipped along ahead of her, eyes closed, stone passing between her hooves as she went. She obviously didn't have a care in the world, with the bliss of the terminally dumb.
Soon enough, she was at Dinky's house. Dinky knocked on the door cheerily.
"Mommy, we're home!"
Then the door opened, and Derpy swept Dinky up in a hug.
"Muffin! Did you have a good time at school?"
Noticing Silver Spoon standing there, she put Dinky down.
"Oh, the two of you were working on that project today, weren't you? Why don't you go into the living room and get started, and I'll get you both something to eat?"
Letting them in, Derpy turned around, and, swaying slightly, disappeared through a door. Watching her flank as she left, Silver flushed. She'd just started noticing other mares recently.
When did Dinky's mom get so hot? Why didn't I ever notice that before?
She managed to put it aside as she started in on the project with Dinky. Soon, a delicious smell started drifting in, distracting her. Not long afterwards, Derpy walked in with a basket of hot raspberry muffins.
Setting the basket down between them, Derpy gave each of them a muffin, than left the two of them alone.
Silver Spoon bit into Derpy's muffin. It was delicious. Staring at the spot Derpy had been in, Silver spoke up.
"Do you suppose I could come back over sometime, and maybe help your mom make muffins or something?"
Oblivious to the lovestruck look in her eyes, Dinky replied.
"Sure! That'll be fun!"
Silver Spoon sighed. It took quite awhile for her to get her thoughts off Dinky's mom, and back to her schoolwork, where it belonged.
Wait wait wait...
Silver Spoon...
And Derpy?
Ok, screw the contest. You need to write that just cause.

Well, the above was 374 words or so. If I actually fleshed out what was happening in the scene, I could probably get it over a thousand words, even ending around where it does, and post it as a oneshot.
While I'm planning on doing a fair amount of writing this weekend, though, I really need to spend a fair amount of time on either Just Winging It or Cubic Zirconia. Preferably both. Trouble is that both are being difficult.
It doesn't help that I did a rewrite of the first chapter for a different story under another account earlier today. You might have even seen it if you know what my other accounts are. ^_^
I've read far more disturbing things on this site this week, but you get a tiny participation trophy for trying.

To be fair, I wrote the second draft of the first chapter something far more disturbing today, too, just not on this account. At least this is a G rated one-way crush.
But no, I'd never have shipped this pairing if it hadn't come up as the two ponies corresponding to the numbers between 1-50 I picked. I'd rather pair Silver Spoon with Twist, or somepony similar.

Well, they're also on my mind because one of the two story chapters I'm supposed to be working on this weekend has Twist and Silver Spoon in it. Though not being shipped, other than being friends.

Yeah. Two stories, both with their next chapter halfway complete on the first draft, both of which haven't been updated in a month. I'm going to have to fight not to just release my first drafts once they are complete.
One, need to properly describe real sigil magic in the spot I'm at, and the other, I need to properly write out a shouting match between Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. With Twist involved. Maybe I should start writing the next scene on both, then go backwards.
At least this and a few other things have been keeping me in practice somewhat, even if some of it's disturbing.

Thanks! I keep meaning to try to see if I can either flesh it out to 1000 words or extend it, but the two fanfics I've been writing (Cubic Zirconia and Just Winging It) tend to crowd out the oneshots I have floating around waiting to be finished...
