Okay.
I'm thinking of putting a one week time limit on betareading chapters.
I know it's not exactly fair to you guys, considering you're finding errors I never would have thought of, but as it stands, I've sat on the first actual chapter for two weeks, and I'd really like to get it out soon.
I think I sound like an asshole putting it like that (and for the following line), because it puts an arbitrary time limit and sorta forces you to do it fast or not do it at all, but that's the thing; betareading isn't an obligation. You guys're volunteering to do it, and if you're busy, you can just step down for a little bit or read chapters whenever you get the chance. So long as they come out better than they went in as, I'm happy.
Apologies, but honestly, I don't want the story to stall.

1291515: Usually I wait until all four betareaders have had a chance to harpoon the chapter and drag it onto the beach, where it can die.
It'll go to Heaven, which, in this case, is the story.
Generally, though, I know spu is busy in meatspace, and Prothean... god, man, where did you even go?

Hmmm, I do recall only me and Natzo (Natza? I dunno) checking on the chapter....
Mayhaps you should have some spare pre-readers to fall back on for situations like this, or enough pre-readers to make you comfortable regardless if some are not available.
1291974: Like I said. So long as it comes out better than it went in, or, alternatively, at least one person checks over it and gives me the go-ahead, I can post the chapter in peace.
