    Also, Commissions For Charity

So right now I’m offering vignettes (roughly 1000-2000 words) as commissions, but instead of paying me you make a donation to charity. Any charity. If you need suggestions, then:

    Charity: Center for Disaster Philanthropy

So okay. Originally I was going to raise money for something closer to home but the barn has secured a grant that makes me less worried about it, and I think my efforts would be better focused here.

    Next Month: Charity Time

So I'm thinking that next month I'd like to run a charity event, but this will be a little different from previous events and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work.

    Happy Hearts and Hooves

In other news, I'm going to be getting a charity thing up and running maybe next month, so that should be exciting. We'll see how it goes, though. The format will be a little different but hopefully it'll be a lot of fun for everyone.

    Here's To The New Year

So it hasn't been exactly the best year, really. While I've had a record amount of commissions, it's cut into personal writing time. There's also the whole "working with actual horses" thing, and the fact that, you know, that seems to be even more of a passion for me than writing is. Not that I'm planning to stop writing or anything.

It still doesn't have a title. · 10:35pm Jul 9th, 2013

But I'm glad to say that at least I'm done Act I. I already know how it's going to be divided up, I have a rough idea of where it's all going, and... now I just need to work on it. Which I'm really hoping to find the time for. Then again, while today wasn't so good, I've been managing to pace okay. It's just a matter of not losing that momentum now.
The closest thing to a title for Story X right now is Glory Be. The three people who know about Scrivy's Writing Blog will kind of recognize that from when Allonym hacked it and put up a poem. I am so incredibly lame. But uh. Speaking of imaginary worlds, I'm playing Ni No Kuni right now. I didn't think I'd like it, but I thought I'd give it a try after I came across it for cheap, and I needed something... immersive, anyway. Wasn't. Quite prepared for how immersive it is, though, and I'm finding time between... everything to put a few hours in here and there? But who needs sleep, right? That's what being dead is for.
That's pretty much everything right now. I just wanted to toss up a short update so anyone interested knows how things are going. I just wish I could come up with a damn title for Story X. But. There's probably months left yet, at least.

I liked the poem.

Like. Taking questions and stuff? I suppose I'd have to make a tumblr for that, really, since the blog is just kind of silliness to keep me doing something ponyesque between stories. But my lack of artisticness kind of keeps me away from the realm of tumblrism.

Thanks. It was just something silly that popped into my head. It sounds best if you yell it with all the rage of capslock at appropriate parts.

Oh, right, yes. I haven't put the link down for a long time, right. I kind of. Mentioned it offhoof at some point but uh... here it is.

Oh yes. I figured if I reply at all to any comments it'll have to be in character with Post Lunar Lights Scrivy so. Yes. I try to do something every Friday. Each month usually consists of something two vaguely writing related posts, a random life blog post, and a silly poem.

It's nice to hear you are doing well and that the story is coming along. Personally I can hardly wait - I have already taken to re-reading the whole thing from the start, I guess I'm just that addicted to your writing.

Would it be possible to coax some hints out of you about the story? A nudge in the direction of what we can expect in terms of plot? Will Twilight finally get to visit the world of Little Luna and Nice Celestia ? (These new meetings never get old, as well as reactions to Twi's condition).

*Goes back to rocking back&forth in a corner*

Uh... if I remember right, which is always questionable... the original few posts for the blog happen before Lunar Lights, actually. Then there's a long period where I didn't really have a chance to do. Much with anything and fell out of practice with the blog, so when I came back, I decided... "Time lapse? Okay. That's when Lunar Lights happened." So everything up until the latest post is now stuff that's all happened post Lunar Lights, and before Starlit Knights.

Oh Gods. I don't know if I could reread the whole thing from the start, and it's my own damn story. I'm very happy to hear you like it all so much, though.
And well, I know you mentioned you aren't a huge fan of first person stories, but Kvasir's bit introduces a few important characters and sets up for what's going to be happening in Story X. You don't have to read it, but you may want to take a glance at a few of the happenings in the chapters if you haven't already.
But I will say that the First Act heavily concerns Iron Gymbr. That's my clever nickname for him. Even though it. Uses Gymbr's actual name. I'm. Smart. Gymbr will continue to be important right up until the end for reasons that will become clear.
And also, I will mention that this story will contain another story. A secret, hidden story. A... DLC pack, if you will. It won't really have anything at all to do with the main story, but. I think it's somehow going to prove just as important.
I probably haven't really. Made any sense or helped anything. But yeah. I'm at... uh... 408K words now, and we're not even halfway through yet. My only worry is that when I try to post this story it's going to end up getting rejected. Hermit's Tale got rejected when I tried to put it up and I've been OCDing about that for months now.

1207358

Aye, I did say that first person perspective doesn't sit well with me in storytelling (and by "doesn't sit well" I mean "never read stories written as such"), and so I'm sorry to say I haven't touched Hermit's Tale. Though it sounds like I might have to grit my teeth and plunge in regardless if I want to enjoy Story X to its fullest, which I definitely do.

Though what do you mean by Hermit's Tale getting reject - it getting very few comments and attention? I can't speak for all, obviously, though for me it's the whole first person deal. It's not that I'm not interested in Kvasir's side of things (anything that expands the Blooming Moon universe is good in my books), and I'm sure the plot is as good as it has always been - it's that the storytelling format is one that's bound to drag down my reading experience, and thus I haven't touched it in the first place. Perhaps there are more that feel the same - I do believe first person is somewhat of an acquired taste compared to 3rd.

I wouldn't worry about X though - if the first person is what drove people to pay less attention to Hermit's Tale, know that this here is one fan whose anticipation for the X story hasn't diminished in the slightest because of it. (If I could find you and pry those 400k words from your fingertips so I could devour them immediately, I would!).

And Iron Gymbr eh ... considering where he was seen last time, why do I have a feeling that translates to Clockwork Gymbr ... which would be madness and damnation of a half dozen kinds.

And to needle you a bit more about Twilight ending up meeting Little Luna/Nice Celestia (and her own version of that world) - or just about any other set from a world she has yet to visit - do we have a chance of that happening? I'm sure you have heard a dozen times now that I can never get enough of all these meetings between alternate universe selves, and that goes double for Twilight because of her situation.

I was very much looking towards the conversation between the two Twilights on Angry Celestia's world (where they met Thesis for the first time), and it was mighty disappointing the native Twilight ran upstairs of her library, shut herself in and was never seen again. (Though at least the rest of the group got in some good reactions and interactions concerning Lich Twilight). There is just something morbidly fascinating about watching others being exposed to her and the reactions/interactions coming from it.

And you should definitely find a reason for her to raise/set the Sun/Moon at least once - she has the ability after all, but has never really used it aside from the time straight after her transformation. The mental imagery of some alternate world's Celestia's/Luna's/Twilight's jaws dropping at the sight of Twi handling the celestial objects would be priceless ....

I mean when I submitted Hermit to FIM, I failed moderation. It's fine, though, I got it through after I... "fixed..." the line spacing and formatting. I mean, I always. Kind of expect the worst to happen anyway, though. And it is a silly story and I mean, a lot of my work is all... weird. I just don't want to have to change everything again when I put up X. So I suppose it's laziness that makes me fret more than anything else.
I'm. Not entirely sure about what's going to happen with the alternate realities yet, though. I mean, there will be layer jumping, yes. I'm just. Not sure how it's all going to come together. And I don't think any of my ponies have actually moved the sun or moon since like... Decretum. I think that there's finally going to be a chance for that in this story sometime, though. It's just that I honestly have no idea what's going to happen until I'm actually writing it. Also it's six in the morning and I haven't had my coffee yet, so my brain is full of sludge. Which. Doesn't help with knowing what's going on with anything.

1208205

Ah, got it. Well, here's hoping you get it right from the get go this time - I imagine having finally finished the story but failing to have it uploaded to be mighty vexing indeed.

And yeah, it has been a while since your ponies needed to move the Sun/Moon (aside from Celestia using it as a flare in her scuffle with Luna) - no need on Looking Glass World. I just thought it would be nice if Twilight got a chance to do it, for the sheer novelty of it and the WTF reactions all around (I have a feeling even those who know she can, have probably forgotten about it at this point).

And yeah, Layer Hopping is a must *Jedi hand wave*

Seeing how things have developed in Censored Equestria, for example, would be quite interesting (imagine returning to finding it embroiled in a civil war, heh). Or for the group to visit one of the worlds without a strict time schedule this time - character interactions I love reading about the most (you do a wonderful job at them), and those offer plenty of unique ones. Heck, I think I could read ten chapters straight with Luna, Scrivy and Twilight going through their everyday lives and the shenanigans they get in to, with no world ending plots looming over them, and still be superbly entertained and craving for more.

I'm writing as fast as my pretty red slippers will let me. And my little dog too. Also thank you for basically favoriting my entire life. There should be an update on how things are moving along shortly, it's just. Kind of a race against life in general. And it's going to be stupidly long. Which is probably no surprise.

1283236

I like stupidly long stories!!! :pinkiecrazy:
I favored your entire life because you are one of the few authors to portray Luna as a go-getter, others usually portray her as mopey/ jealous/ sad/ or hopeless in ever becoming accepted by society again. You took the story of MLP and turned it on its ear. For that I am forever grateful.
