    Also, Commissions For Charity

So right now I’m offering vignettes (roughly 1000-2000 words) as commissions, but instead of paying me you make a donation to charity. Any charity. If you need suggestions, then:

    Charity: Center for Disaster Philanthropy

So okay. Originally I was going to raise money for something closer to home but the barn has secured a grant that makes me less worried about it, and I think my efforts would be better focused here.

    Next Month: Charity Time

So I'm thinking that next month I'd like to run a charity event, but this will be a little different from previous events and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work.

    Happy Hearts and Hooves

In other news, I'm going to be getting a charity thing up and running maybe next month, so that should be exciting. We'll see how it goes, though. The format will be a little different but hopefully it'll be a lot of fun for everyone.

    Here's To The New Year

So it hasn't been exactly the best year, really. While I've had a record amount of commissions, it's cut into personal writing time. There's also the whole "working with actual horses" thing, and the fact that, you know, that seems to be even more of a passion for me than writing is. Not that I'm planning to stop writing or anything.

Here's To The New Year · 12:38am Jan 1st, 2020

So it hasn't been exactly the best year, really. While I've had a record amount of commissions, it's cut into personal writing time. There's also the whole "working with actual horses" thing, and the fact that, you know, that seems to be even more of a passion for me than writing is. Not that I'm planning to stop writing or anything.
Of course new adventures bring new pains, too. Early in the year, the first horse I'd ever trained died suddenly and unexpectedly. That sucked.
Much later in the year, a few days after my birthday, my dad died, also suddenly and unexpectedly. Like one in a million chance suddenly and unexpectedly. I ended up making the trip to Canada by myself for unfortunate reasons and then came back on a plane. First time on a plane, let alone flying internationally. I at least liked the plane a lot.
And I was glad I made the trip, as harrowing and impossible as it seems looking back on it. All a haze, still.
But not everything is terrible, or terrible-adjacent. I adopted a rescue horse a while back that no one else could get through to, and discovered so much skill and talent I can barely keep up with him. Trained him from the ground up myself and now we're terrorizing farmer's fields and jumping as high as some of the young competitors at the barn.
Although he's stubborn and difficult, as you can see here, where he scores a good kick on me before apologizing.
So I'm ready for a new year, and hopefully a better one than this one has been. And hopefully, finally having the time to write that last big story I have planned.
Not that I think I'll ever be done with ponies, really. The show can end, but I'm sure I'll still be here.
Happy new years, everyone, and the best of luck to all of you out there, and thanks for sticking with me and this weird adventure it's been.

Im sorry you went through all that, but it sounds like you're getting a lot out of working with those irl ponies. Air Canada is a good airline, if that was your first.

That horse apology was pretty cute. I didn't think he was actually going to come back to you

Thanks. I appreciate it. I really am, yeah, and have some exciting announcements regarding it in the new year, too.
And I think it was Delta? Either way it went great. I thought I'd be terrified but turns out I'm only afraid of ladders, not heights. Ride was really nice.
He and I have a weird bond. No matter how mad either of us makes the other we always end up coming back together in the middle.

Happy New year to you too. Hopefully things are better for you. The horse is cute and I'm glad he likes you.
