Alright... I'm not sure if I've ranted about this before, but I will always, until my dying day, come hell or high water, spell it Princess Cadence. Why? Because if the writers of the show decide to use a dictionary word for a character's name, they better damn well stick to the dictionary spelling. What is the basis for changing her name to Cadance? They've tipped the balance in the battle between A's and E's. The vowel world as we know it may never be the same.
Besides, I like to think of her as a capable singer which would coincide with the musical definition of a cadence.

Not really the same reasoning as you, but I prefer Cadence as I think Cadance doesn't seem right, even if seen it supposedly spelled that way in movies or other stories, which is just weird... even if ponies have their own unique names/spelling (possibly), more often than not.
And not read that story, but maybe I'll add to my mega-large list of Read It Later stories.
Actually, upon closer examination, I already have added it! But not up to reading it at this time, even if wouldn't take long, probably.
