The futile ravings of a madman · 3:16pm Mar 30th, 2013
I've been a member for long enough that I thought I ought to post some manner of blog, especially now that I'm actually writing fics and not just absorbing other people's work like some kind of brain parasite.
I am some kind of brain parasite though, don't get me wrong, I'm just one who can put a fic together now and then.
So, what can you expect from me in terms of output? Firstly, I'm really enjoying Trial and Error. I've got a rough plan of where it's going (some details are a little hazy, some are crystal clear) but in any case I think I'll have it complete in a few months. I can't say how many chapters it'll be, but I can tell you that I foresee more of the slightly longer length that chapter 3 ended up. It's much easier to describe locations and events that aren't two well known characters talking in a location from the show - I mean, who wants to read a description of Twilight's library when they already know what it looks like?
In addition to that, I have a few more ideas that I'd like to put into fic form someday. I'll go ahead and list a few, because I feel like being a tease.
* A short slice-of-life scene between Princesses Celestia and Luna over breakfast/dinner.
* A fic taking place during the Apple Family Reunion - the Apples are great fun to write, the more of them the better.
* A shipping fic set in a Rule 63 version of Equestria - that's one where everyone's gender is swapped, for those of you not up on your internet pervert lingo.
* A crossover with Tolkien's Middle Earth. I LOVE Tolkien so much, you don't even know.
* A collection of stories I wrote for a 30 minute challenge, polished and expanded into things I'm really happy with, thereby defeating the entire purpose of a 30 minute challenge.
Now, not all of these ideas will ever come to fruition, and not all of the ones that do come to fruition will turn out to be good, but at least now you know some of the ideas I'm throwing around in between sessions of thinking up really bad Griffon puns.
Rule 63 and Apple family stuff are favorites of mine.. But I'd say write whatever you darn well please, because I'll gladly read any of it!
