Brony Bookclub, Round Two · 4:55am Mar 25th, 2013

We interrupt the incredibly important discussion of oversized plushies in my last blogpost, with this way-more-important announcement. As you may recall, I made a guest appearance way back in the day on The Brony Bookclub. Well, they're getting ready to celebrate their twentieth episode. Apparently, Roy and Sam liked me so much (mwa ha ha, the fools, I have deceived them all, etc) that they're inviting me back along with a handful of their other favorite guests. In next week's episode, I'll be appearing alongside Kavonde, author of A Teacher With No Class, The Strange Destiny of Prince Blueblood, and The Prince of Ponyville, as well as Corey Williams, author of The Vinyl Scratch Tapes. Why am I being invited alongside such tremendous talent? Because I'm a dirty dirty ho.

Also, do you like MLCT? Because Roy likes MLCT. And Roy told Sam about it, and now Sam loves MLCT. And when they told Kavonde about this twentieth episode idea and he looked me up, he now digs MLCT too. So if you like MLCT too, come listen to Brony Bookclub Ep. 20, wherein at least three people will yell at me to freaking update already.

For your nostalgia pleasure, here's a link to a reupload of my original appearance, from back in July 2012.

Maybe I missed it in the video, but when is it?

Just finished listening to the Bookclub audio. Nice!

One of the things I'm constantly worried about in my fusion is that Trev and I aren't making it pony enough. Things like "The Magic of Friendship" and other such themes in the show haven't appeared too much and I fear that we're doing the "copy-paste" treatment. We intend to branch into our own plot elements away from the game but I still think the handling of the two universes isn't as seamless as MLCT.

Well, I suppose we'll have to address these things moving forward. Till then!

Look at you go, Pav, hockin' your stuff all over the place.

Awesome stuff though, man. I enjoyed the last Brony Bookclub you were on, so I'm looking forward to seeing what filthy lies you come up with for the next episode.

You want me to unveil basic information about the podcast I plugged? What is with all of these unreasonable demands?!

Brony Bookclub is prerecorded not streamed, so it'll be popping up on their Youtube channel as soon as it's recorded/edited/published. We're recording circa Thursday. I don't recall exactly how long Roy needs for editing, but maybe this weekendish? I'll make a new blogpost when it's up.

Well we can chat on Skype, but you might be selling yourself short there. I say it time and again, but FIM's strength is in its characters. By keeping the characters true to themselves (plus or minus a plot-related change, like making Twilight or Big Mac (respectively) technically minded), you really help to enable them to own the plot. Thematic overtones are certainly nice, but there's still time to address that, as you're still heavily in the character introduction phase. As for going off the rails, it's all about what's organic from the characters' standpoints. While I've been fairly conservative here myself, it really seems like it's the little things that pay off the most.

 Indeed, there's been quite a many developments since my last time on the show. Filthy lies, eh? Perhaps we need to come up with some more #Seattlefacts :trollestia:
