    Note

As you may have noticed, I haven't written anything for a long time. I don't really have much energy left for writing pony fiction anymore, as much as it pains me to say it. If I'm being honest with myself, I don't foresee any updates to my incomplete stories, so consider them officially dead. Most of them have been for too long anyway. I don't want to bog you guys down with my personal life,

    The Future

So I expect that this story will be finished this week in the next two weeks relatively soon now. Once it's done, I was wondering what you guys would like to see updated first: Story A or

Hey all, my apologies for the delay in the next chapter of Turn That Frown Upside Down (henceforth 'TTFUD', because I don't feel like typing the whole title every time :rainbowwild:). I got slapped with a big project that was due yesterday, so now that it's done I can get back to working on fanfic stuffs. Expect an update in the next three or four days.

On an unrelated note, I tried submitting The Name Game to EqD a while back, and it was sent back to me citing errors with semicolons and hyphens as reasons for not being sent to prereaders. If any of you are more savvy than I am with those two types of punctuation and would be willing to look over TNG (The Name Game (yes I am that lazy) ), I would appreciate that.

Lastly, I'd like to thank all of you for following me to begin with. I appreciate every one of you.

TTFN (ta-ta for now),

Well lemmie just say that the EQD prereaders are totally stuck up.

Don't waste your time

Agreed. I've seen this happen so many times now to writers - GOOD writers - who submit to EQD, and all it does is discourage them because they believe EQD to be some kind of prize to be attained. There may not even be anything wrong with your story. Certainly I loved The Name Game.

There's a good recent comment about EQD's prereaders here.

888312 Yeah, I've read dozens of damn good fan fictions that will probably never get there.

Really? That's... kinda depressing. :applejackunsure: Here I thought EqD was supposed to be a fairly balanced deal with regards to fanfic. That does actually make sense, though, which is the scary part. I've seen plenty of awesome stories never make it to EqD... I always wondered what was up with that.

888859 Oh yeah totally.

Take this one, Mare-Do-Well: Regeneration, which is a VERY DARK take on the whole Mare-Do-Well thing and just might be the single most awesome fan fiction I've read so far. (bonus points: it's main character is Trixie)

The main reason they turned that story down: It was written in Third Person, Present Tense.

Like this:

He reaches for the cup and takes a drink

That's really the only real reason.

To add to what others have said, I've actually found some pretty horrible fics make it there. There was one, I can't remember the title nor would I cite it if I could, that I quit after one paragraph. There were literally around a dozen comma errors in the opening paragraph.
If you'd still like to use them as a way to get your work out there, please do, just don't take their criticism too harshly.
