It may not be what y'all been waiting for, but perhaps it's sexy enough to pass.
I reiterate, this is not a rewrite. I haven't been spending this past month re-doing every scene. I did, however, re-read it and tweak things where necessary. The whole fic is still about 90% the same, but for a trainwreck of this magnitude, that's still a lot of changes. The real work comes next, as I force myself to dredge up this beast from the depths. From now on, I intend to have chapters smaller and more bite-sized, like the ones you see in this fic as of this re-upload. There once was a time that I thought I could do each arc in 5 chapter increments. There once was a time when I was also an idiot.
Come to think of it, I'm still an idiot. I guess I just do things these days with more stylin' and profilin'.

Turning the 24 mega-chapters of EoP into 52 consummable little turds was the most enjoyable aspect of this painful endeavor. With Background Pony, the large-ass chapters made sense, especially considering the format that I was aiming for. With End of Ponies, I had originally planned on a certain structure, but that couldn't maintain itself. So, screw it, y'know? EoP is painful enough as it is; I might as well spread the concussion out as squarely as I can.
Ponky was kind enough to help me with thinking up some of the Dredgemane chapters. Some of them are rather obvious in their influence. Ugh, moving on before I depress myself any further.
"Ba-COCK" indeed...
And, last but not least, a ghetto list of all the major changes I've made. Take note, this list does not include tiny changes. This is simply alterations large enough that I felt they warranted commenting. You'll notice that the details get smaller as the chapters go on. Part of this is laziness. Another part is that the further I got into the fic--especially into Dredgemane--the better the original editing was, and the less changes I felt compelled to make. F'naaaa.
Ghetto End of Ponies Changes List For Make Great Victory Skirtistan
Chapter 1:
-Removed the italics for the entire opening sequence
-Changed a few grammatical bits to make the intro a little less jarring
-Eliminated LUS moments with "blue pegasus"
-The bottom floor of the Harmony is now called the "storage compartment" instead of the "hangar."
-Though I made this change months ago, Scootaloo no longer says any dialogue in the hotel room as she waits for Philamena's arrival (Matrix be damned)
-(New Chapter 2) - I'm aiming to make past and future chapters of EoP shorter. In that spirit, I've removed the scenes after the phoenix battle and placed them in a new chapter two (Chapter Two: The Last Pony)

-I know that these are becoming microscopic chapters now, but I want to see how long I can keep this up. It means that, ultimately, EoP will have a gazillion installments, but it also means that they should be a heck of a lot easier to read. There is no need to treat this fanfic like Background Pony. The chapters are not necessarily self-containing masterpieces or whatcrap. F'naaaaa
-Getting rid of the "Lady" in every instance of "Lady Rarity." Wtf was I thinking? I owe you many apologies, Vimbert.
-The Applejack arc finally has its own take on the "Pinkie Pie likes to get wet" running gag
-I removed the italics from teh tiny Cloudsdale flashback Harmony has in the bathtub
-Added a bit during the dinner conversation about "Rarity and 'Anastasia.'"
-Fixed "Sweetie Bell" so that it reads "Sweetie Belle." I guess back in that day, I thought some things were too good to be true.
-(New Chapter 16) - "A Gift in the Darkness" (Originally Chapter 9) - everything after the meal at the Apple family dinner table
-I'm trying to figure out why I had such a hard-on for italics and bold back when I started EoP. I think the reason is because I'm an illiterate moron who only reads comic books.
Chapter 10:

That drawing of the Harmony is pretty much exactly what I was picturing in my head...though I was basing my mental image off the airships from the Golden Compass. You know, those huge red and gold ones? Only much more worn down and all the color gone.

Too much volume. I am unsure if I will be able to re-read this much until summer break.
I used to get such a feeling of accomplishment when I finished a chapter of EoP... Oh well. More consumable is probably better for everypony. Looking at some of those chapter lengths made me temporarily flatline the first time I looked at this fic, so now that should stop. I really need to catch up before new chapters are uploaded...

It's one hell of a commit. Or tag/group of commits, I hope, for his health and sanity. Usually it's a good thing to break work into atomic revisions. Doubtless though, he's slaved away in front of his ghetto black and red word processor screen for many a night and without breaks for our reading enjoyment.

Now I just have to find a time when there's a break in the updates of my favourited stories, work, and insomnia so I can read this, because I tend to read good fics all in one meaty slab of sleep-deprived lunacy.
