I recently learned that time, in the perception of the individual, is a completely subjective condition. In years that were rather unpleasant, I had time rush past me and a year felt like a mere two months. In pleasant and happy years, that were filled with exciting activities and positive progression, the year felt like three years at once to me.
This is how everything becomes even. The passing of time in one's mind is different from the objective passing of time. The good years balance out the bad ones. And as long as you have fun and feel fulfilled, a few years will feel like an entire lifetime.
