Hey, Everypony! Sorry for the lack of any updates, but I need to tell you something! · 8:08pm Dec 23rd, 2023
You read the title!
Yeah, I know it’s been… five months? Sweet Celestia, I have not been proactive with this. Whoops!
For those of you who are wondering what’s been going on, let me explain.
Back in October, I offered to be an editor for BronySonicFan, as his stories needed some grammatical help, and he accepted! I also got fired from my job that same month, and with me dealing with the traveling to college and keeping up with things, it’s been a wee bit crazy.
Now with the next term coming up, and me going into college full time, I may have even less time than before (Or lack thereof, since my time management skills are trash).
Now, onto the reason you’re likely here for. Last night, a thought popped into my head regarding a specific ‘element’ of my story: Tionic’s Element of Harmony, Leadership, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Something about it just doesn’t make sense in the overarching story. Like, I just shoehorned it in to give Tio a place in the story. Then again, when I first created him back before the pandemic, I didn’t have much of an idea of what, or rather, who Tionic would be. Heck, he was originally supposed to be a half Mobian with a human father!
But after I wrote My Little Spark: The Movie, and gave my boy a real backstory and reason to be with the Mane Seven, I think that was the start of my doubts of Tionic being a ‘Forgotten Element’. I’ve seen a lot of stories on this website that have another Element or two (or three), and no offense to them, but it doesn’t seem right. Like, where would the others have come from? Nopony else except the Old Six, Celestia, Luna, and the Mane Six even know of its existence, much less the Elements of Harmony. How would there be lost Elements if they never existed in the first place?
Anyway, what I’m trying to say here is that I’m doxing Tionic’s Element from the story. It’s early enough that I won’t have to worry about any major changes linked to the Element, and much of the story will stay the same.
So mainly, the beginning and end of Dawn of the Storm will be the only changes to the over arching story, and everything else will be unaffected. Unfortunately, Tio will no longer be able to access the powers of Harmony to further his strength, but he’ll have his own path to path now.
As for any updates to Dawn of the Storm? Well, I think I’m gonna put it on the back burner for now. I’m currently working on its sequel, and so far, four out of the… wait, does the short even count? Bah, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, four of the twenty one chapters fully written out of ready (they are not the beginning chapters, I just had a spurt of inspiration to write them), and I want them to be mostly written out before I even think of publishing them.
So as for 2024? I don’t know how far I’ll get, but keep an eye out for any updates!
And with that, Merry Christmas, everypony!
