    Ponyfeather Edition of Mendacity!

Very, very belated post, this, and I daresay many folks who would be interested in this have already found out one way or another on their own, but better late than never, I suppose. As of, um, about a month ago, Mendacity is available to order from Ponyfeather Publishing, in both hardcover and softcover editions!

    Not Dead Yet!

Well! Um. It's, ah, been a while, hasn't it? Lots of water under the bridge, lots of stories unwritten, lots of comments unanswered...

    Calling all artists!

Well! The first chapter of my de-ponyfied version of Rise and Fall is complete, and all that remains is the final tidbits and tiddlywinks for those folks who most generously opted for one of the higher reward tiers. I just completed the illustration for the chapter this evening, and, well...My artistic chops, it would seem, are not quite up to

The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord...Sassafras?

Yes, you read correctly; Sassafras, not Sassaflash. Having mulled the idea over for some time, I've decided it's time I began writing again—and my current rather impecunious state helped me narrow down what to write rather nicely. The possible Celestia fic I mentioned may still happen, but today is not its day—nor will my own worldbuilding yet see dawn, as that's still in rather too

The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash is Complete!

Exactly what it says on the tin. More than 100,000 words later, my tale of an angsty necromancer and her unflappable minion and friend has come to a close. Here it be. If you haven't already taken a gander, and if you liked Mendacity (or heck, even if you didn't), please, take a look—and if you've

Ponyfeather Edition of Mendacity! · 6:19pm Sep 30th, 2023

Other than some consultation regarding formatting, editing, artwork, author's bios, and suchlike, I can take very little credit for this; the lion's share of the plaudits for bringing this about goes to RBDash47 of Ponyfeather Publishing, who undertook all the hard labor of initiating, formatting, organizing, proofreading and editing, contacting artists, and general realizing of the project. Thanks should also be given to Maxiima, who undertook the beautiful reimagining of the cover art for Mendacity, and to Wanderer D, who was instrumental in, um, enabling RBDash47 to actually get in touch with me (...it is, ah, possible I am no longer particularly assiduous in checking my FiMfiction mailbox).

Hey, I couldn't allow your story to NOT have a tree version! My only regret is that I couldn't get your signature on my copy. Unless we can arrange something? Hint/Wink/Hint

I got a copy at Everfree Northwest. I practically had to; Mendacity is still one of my favorite stories on the whole site.

Got mine at EFNW too! Definitely on my shortlist.

Big shoutout to Wanderer D for repeatedly being like "there should be a print of Mendacity there should be a print of Mendacity there should be a print of Mendacity" until I finally went "God, FINE!" and got it together.

(...Honestly I would have done it sooner, but I sorta had it in my head that it had already been printed... not sure why...)

Also seconding the shoutout to Maxi for acing the cover, they are as ever a delight to work with!

Already got a copy myself. Amazing story, grats for getting it published!

5748623 If I recall, that conversation went something like this:

"Hey, you know what story needs its own print? Mendacity."
"It doesn't have one? I could've sworn—"
"I already emailed him and he said yes."
"Okay, I should—"
"Yes."
"Okay, but I—"
"Yes."
"...fine."

Did any of the editing make it into the version on this site or strictly the print version?

Only $7 for the softcover too? That's a steal! This was one of the first stories I ever Favorited on this site and I look forward to reading it again.

Ah, no; the edits made were very minor, with no substantive effect on the story (mostly it was a matter of altering phrasing slightly in order to make certain that the formatting of the text on the page worked well; nothing that alters the feel or the substance of the tale).

Congratulations!

Oh this is perfect I'm so gonna grab a copy

Oh, very cool! Mendacity is a great story, and it deserves a print version.

I believe the phrase is "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"

Is it possible that maybe a print version of The Rise And Fall could also happen? I have money that says it should. Not a lot of money, like two hardcovers worth, but money...
