Yes, you read correctly; Sassafras, not Sassaflash. Having mulled the idea over for some time, I've decided it's time I began writing again—and my current rather impecunious state helped me narrow down what to write rather nicely. The possible Celestia fic I mentioned may still happen, but today is not its day—nor will my own worldbuilding yet see dawn, as that's still in rather too unformed a state, story-wise, for me to be able to make something of it. Instead, I've decided to devote myself seriously to translating The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash from Equestria to Earth, with the hope to eventually get it scoodled off to some publisher or other and on to shelves.
Now, why mention this here, if I'm only just beginning the task? The fact is, you—all you wonderful folks who have read and commented and encouraged me as I wrote my two fanfics—can help me once again, if you're willing and able to. The fact is, I need funds if I'm to devote time to writing, and to that end I've started a Patreon devoted to this project. Earth-verse; this will be a completely de-ponified work, with the only connection to my fic The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash being the overarching plot and the characters' personalities, goals, and (to a lesser degree) pasts. Sassaflash herself is a background pegasus, never actually named in-show, who I turned into an embittered necromancer for my fanfiction, and Sassafras is essentially a humanized version of her, with similar goals, attitudes, and motivations, but living in a very different world.

It's great that you're taking his next step. I feel compelled to point out part of the original's charm is the cognitive dissonance between the happy candy pony world and Sass's eldritch horror one. Are the humans baseline humans with the same aesthetics and cultural mores that we're familiar with, or is some attempt planned to replicate the Cheery Happy Land?

Baseline humans, but I'm aware of the issue you point out, and I do think I can preserve some of that sense of delicious incongruity.
