Important update on...well, everything I guess · 12:27am Apr 4th, 2023
hey yall! Im still alive and kicking, even if the Army decided to send me to the woods for 4 days of mission drills and land navigation (more fun than it sounds, for those who dislike sweating in the florida sun).
I wanted to make this update post for a couple of reasons, but for mostly where I stand on story writing. As of today, I am goint to be putting both Dogs of War and Mark of the Butcher on hiatus. I've been trying for almost 3 months now to add onto either of the stories, but honestly all its been doing is stressing me out, to the point where I need a break from those story lines entirely. As of right now, I'm not cancelling them, as I plan to come back and finish them, but there's a bigger project I'd rather focus on instead...
...namely, the sequel to Era of Harmony. That story was my starting point on this website, and I loved every bit of the time I put into the story. So much so, that I keep finding myself drawn back to ideas for it while typing up chapters for the other 2 stories I have.
So yeah, Im officially taking a break from DoW and MotB, and there will probably be a sequel story for Era of Harmony coming out within the month.
(and sorry if this upsets some of yall, I just dont want to push chapters for a story I dont have the motivation to write for atm.)
I'm sure - your readers do understand most of the hardships writer could encounter. Stay safe out there, lad.

thanks, you too! maybe one day I'll get back to those stories someday, but right now its best if I focus on where my passion is atm
I know what it's like when you get orders to go train. Not that it can't be fun running around all geared up and put munitions to work, but still. That time away can suck and mess up your rhythm.
Either way. I hope you can find some enjoyment sucking it up and sweating your ass off.
Best of luck to ya, and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Trust me, I enjoyed the hell out of it...but yeah it totally messed with my rhythm.
And So am I! I just got to get around to writing it

I still remember my training with anti-armor platforms. Great stuff.
Otherwise, the whole writing process is kicking my ass a bit, too. This second arc of CTTB is starting off so differently from the first, and so much has changed.
Thinking about it that way makes me really curious to see where you take your continuation.

I know how that feels. Iv've only begun writing mine and I can already feel the weight of the past story on the characters. It's such a sobering feeling writing their lives down after putting the words "epilogue" on paper

I suppose another big part of it is the time gap you choose to go with. How much has changed between the stories? What do the readers need to be reintroduced to or have explained what happened between the last epilogue and this new chapter one?
For me, there was no time jump, but changes were still enormous in scale. Even still, there was so much that had to be re-explained to give the content context. In some cases, it was to give context to the old content.
Saying that reminds me that I need to brush up on your story again.
