Once everyone arrived in the Comm Central, Alia began the debriefing. "Alright, here's the situation in Doppler Town." She called up a map of Doppler Town on a slightly damaged view screen. "While there are numerous Mavericks under Doppler's control via his Neural Computer, eight have been assigned the roles of Generals, taking control of their regions. Mostly you'll be facing Mechanaloid enemies while getting to the Generals."
X stepped up. "Unfortunately, with the attack on HQ, Doppler Town is officially in revolt against the rest of the world. Civilian authorities are already trying to pressure the military for direct action. However, it's still under our control...for now."
"A General I happen to know has informed me that it will be at most two weeks before the military will take direct action," Dr. Ciel added, breathing somewhat heavily. Time was starting to weigh on her, and it upset many to know that she'd soon be following Dr. Cain into her final rest. However, she hadn't let it slow her down yet.
"CiCi, how's progress going on those neutralizer devices?" X demanded.
"It's coming along well," she replied, raising herself up on her tentacles. "Two are currently finished. However, I only have enough materials to make seven more, and I won't be able to get more until the two weeks are up."
"So...we can only save nine," Zero murmured.
"Not necessarily," Octavia suggested. "I was looking over the data CiCi gathered on the Neural Computer...if we manage to destroy it, any Reploids still being manipulated will default to stand by. So as long as we're able to find it and destroy it..."
"True, they've likely moved it," CiCi agreed. "I can provide you with a scan upgrade for your optics so you'll be able to tell if a Maverick you're facing is affected by the signal or not. I wouldn't put it past Doppler to build his own enforcers that are naturally loyal to his Maverick ideals."
"Alright," X agreed. "How long to have it installed?"
"We can be certain of it's reliability...by this time tomorrow," CiCi confirmed.
"Then tomorrow we go after the first General," X ordered.
X and Octavia teleported into the Ice zone first, deciding their first target should be Blizzard Buffalo. Not only was he the physically strongest Maverick - meaning he could take the most damage without shutting down while they figured out how to use the neutralizer - but his nature prior to being controlled by the Neural Computer was peaceful, an artist in point of fact. This made him the ideal first target.
While the area itself was rather straightforward, the ground everywhere was covered in ice, making footing difficult to find, especially on slopes. On top of that, flying mechanaloids with missiles were positioned over the slopes, making it very easy to run into them or their ammo without meaning to. Octavia resolved this issue by siccing Classic on them, as he was able to grip the ice with his claws. Seeing the effectiveness of this strategy, X called Piano in to assist as well. The fluffy robot dog resolved the problem with the simple expedient of body slamming into the Mechanaloids, as his fur absorbed the kinetic impact to keep him from taking damage.
Between the four of them, the trip through the frozen region was much easier, allowing them to descend into the caverns unmolested. The only annoyance there were mechanaloids disguised as boulders, and long range shooting mechanaloids positioned to shoot at the top of ladders.
Once they were out of the caverns, Piano decided to be helpful and retrieve a Sub Tank suspended on a high platform out of reach. He accomplished this by body slamming the wall until the platform crumbled, allowing X to catch the Sub Tank as it fell.
The rest of that final region was filled with a snowstorm, generated by a large device similar to the ones that had generated sandstorms in the desert where they'd faced Overdrive Ostrich. Making their way far to the right, they found a hidden alcove containing a Light capsule. Approaching it, the capsule opened.
"This capsule has perfected the upgrade to your dash boots I gave you last time," Light explained. "It will allow you to dash in any direction in mid air."
"Any progress on that Piano Adapter?" X asked eagerly.
"It should be done in a week or so," Dr. Light replied. "It's proving a bit more difficult than anticipated." The hologram smirked. "With any luck, I should be able to deliver it to you at some point in Doppler's Fortress, once you find it."
"Is that where we'll always get the super upgrades?" Octavia asked with a roll of her eyes.
"Likely," Light replied as the hologram vanished.
X stepped into the capsule, and received the upgrade in a bright flash of light. As Varia downloaded the upgrade, Octavia expressed a question. "How come it's always so flashy?" she asked.
"No idea," X replied as he put the new upgrade to the test, dashing straight up.
Down below that alcove was the place where Blizzard Buffalo waited for them. "I will crush you!" he proclaimed angrily. "Behold the art of destruction!" He charged towards them.
X quickly leapt overhead, using an air dash to evade the charge. Octavia merged with Classic, taking to the air as she bombarded Blizzard Buffalo with charged shots.
While the charging continued, eventually Blizzard Buffalo changed tactics, charging up energy to fire a freezing beam at X. While X was caught in it and temporarily frozen, Octavia saw that it temporarily depleted Blizzard Buffalo's energy. Acting quickly, she lunged in and attached the device to his skull, right between his horns.
Blizzard staggered back, shaking his head to clear it...and the device activated. He blinked his eyes. "What...what happened? Where am I? Why..." He shivered. "What have I done?"
"It's alright," Octavia reassured him as she disengaged from Classic. "You were under someone else's control. If you stay here, you'll be safe until this is resolved."
He sat down heavily as X broke free. "How...how can I thank you?"
"Your weapon would be helpful," X replied as he approached.
"Certainly," Blizzard agreed readily, letting them download the weapon program. His eyes turned to Octavia. "Before you go...may I...sculpt you?"
Octavia giggled. "Alright. Any pose in particular?"
"Cuddling your wolf around the neck and looking up pleadingly as though asking, 'can I keep him?'" he specified.
Giggling, Octavia assumed the position. X shook his head as Blizzard Buffalo began sculpting.
roll
I always chose Tunnel Rhino because of his weapon.
Blizzard's stage music is very relaxing.
Excellent as always, though I must admit, the interaction between Octavia and Acid Seahorse might prove to be interesting.
I'm just wondering now... When will Octavia be 'flirted on' so to speak. We had Vinyl (kinda) flirted on with one of the other robot masters but wondering how someone is going to try and woo Octavia with X being the overbearing (and very caring) father he is would make for a very funny and awkward situation. Hmm... Then again, not all your stories has the ponies falling in love though...
Hopefully Blizzard Buffalo won't decide to take a stroll through Frozen Walrus' turf this time around.

*sniff* He just wanted to make art and they TOOK him!
Beyond X-2, I get lost.
I played a little bit of one of the later titles. I think it was one of the ones that bridged the X-gen games and Legends. Outside of that, I have little to go on.
Not that any of this is going to stop me; I'm reading A Sparkle in His Eye despite only having played the first three and Size Matters.
6666352 Does
Mr KrabsBubble Crab count?6666352 Well seeing she's Lolli, many who would get branded with
Will Blizzard Buffalo suffer the same fate as in the Official Manga? Only time will tell.
Ah Bilzard Buffalo, good times.
Ok......I knew that the Mega man series was weird......but when I saw the name Blizzard Buffalo....ugh.
WHO IN THE HELL DESIGNED THESE NAMES!?
....because when I first started reading this story and Wily's Wittle Wub, I thought you just made up these names.....and then a looked them up out of curiosity and it finally hit me.
The people who designed these names are morons!
Forgive my language but that is how I feel.
6666830
Actually, these are the names they were given when the games came to America.
The original Japanese names were a lot more interesting.
6666830 Well, considering almost all of the robot masters in all the games were designed by children and teens....
6666573 Well... he didn't flirt so much as he would have attempted to sell her into sexual slavery had X not killed him.

He's not the only victim
6666992 WHY MUST EVERY DEFINITIVE EVIL CHARACTER TAKE AWAY SUCH DECENT PEOPLE... REPLOIDS... WHATEVER?!?
6666840 Never played or seen the actual game or lore, so I know nothing.
6666861 I guess that's true.
6667154 Ever heard of Bond Man? He's a legend in Japan.
EDIT: http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Bond_Man
6667182 I didn't even know he existed until now.
6667332 That's because, technically, he still doesn't. He never made it into the final game.
EDIT: He's a Manga Exclusive. They had a chance to bring him into a game, but decided to let him stay the Living Legend that he is.
6666573 No, as in a legit steady relationship.
6666607 Loli in form sure but what if there was another Cyborg/Reploid or some such that might be able to match her later on? Granted said suitor would be much younger in terms of age but at that point closing the age gap would be impossible right?
At this point, I'm wishing Blizzard Buffalo's name was Ice Bison Man instead. Or something similar to the original Megaman names.
DAAAAAWWWWW
So saving the eight generals and Doppler??? I can't wait to see X and Octavia's reaction to the Super Upgrades and the various Ride Armor they'll find.
Aw... I was hoping for a Bob Ross joke. Oh well.
My only experience with mega man the star force games but I enjoy this never the less.
Missed opportunity. Should've called him Bilzzard Buffalo. Still loving this story regardless
I always go after Blast Hornet first, because the fight's much easier for me.
Yes, that's right. It's easier for me, than facing the other 7 bosses.
This game had a lot of fish.
7165533 Mackerel, salmon, tuna, or sardine?
7181663 I'm guessing herring... except the red ones.
that name acid seahorse makes me wanna laugh and cringe at the same time
A look all parents have seen at some point.
one buffalo ice sculptor returned to normal, the heroes better hope the rest are as kind as the big fella.
