Another Sombra based “Alternate Universe” story. Btw, this is not the same as my first story, it’s completely new and different.
This story will be about King Sombra and Flurry Heart having a weird adventure. How weird? Discord will be involved kind of weird. Cozy Glow is gonna be in this story too, and some of the characters will have a problem with Discord’s highjinks later on in the story; that is all. Oh, and supposedly Chrysalis will offer to help them as well; for a price.
Before the main events that took place between King Sombra, Flurry Heart, and others, there were other events that happened before all the main events took place. How? Well, King Sombra was taking a stroll in Ponyville. Now, knowing the ponies of ponyville, they would usually warn everypony of Sombra’s return, again. Or they would simply try to beat him up in case he would try anything villainous. But strangely, nopony seemed to care one bit of Sombra’s return for once, and he was fine with it. Once he arrived at Sugarcube Corner, he decided to enter, play (or attempt to), with the Cake Twins for a few minutes, browse whatever it is that the ponies behind the counter are selling, and order something once he made his choice.
The reason being is that he was hungry, and wanted something to snack on. He tried going back to the Crystal Empire for a snack and some coffee from the Crystal Empire cafe, but the entire kingdom was under attack by a pack of yetis. So he went to Ponyville instead; which was a lot more safer of course. However, right before Sombra can order something, he noticed something... peculiar. For instance, there’s no customers. Not really peculiar; except for the fact that none of the tables were set up yet. Secondly, he noticed that there was nopony behind the counter; not even his archenemy: Pinkie Pie. Thirdly, the spot where the Cake Twins would play, is empty. Not to mention messy because of all the toys lying around. Lastly, he didn’t see anyone in the back area of the counter either. Plus, when he decided to grab one of the cakes in the showcase, Sombra noticed that the cake was plastic, and that it was glued on there real good. He even went as far as trying to make a cake on his own. Unfortunately, he couldn’t. Reason being is that not only are the cakes a fake, but literally everything is a fake; even the money in the register. He also soon realized that literally nopony is in Ponyville either, but he didn’t care.
With that in mind, he decided to just leave, and never come back, (well, at least until tomorrow). However, right as soon as Sombra left, he was confronted by a mailpony who goes by the name: Derpy Hooves. He waved nonchalantly, but then was given a mysterious letter from the Crystal Empire. It read: “Dear King Sombra, I know that we are enemies and all, but I could really use your help. You see, when I was in the kitchen, making some dinner for my daughter and husband, yetis just came out of nowhere and attacked us. Everyone was fine, but Flurry Heart is missing. Not only that, but the entire kingdom is swarmed with more yetis. I fear that at this rate, our kingdom will be in ruins. Most importantly, our daughter is still missing. Considering that you’ve probably heard about Flurry Heart before somehow, we need your assistance. Find Flurry Heart for us, and bring her back safely. If you do this, then you’ll be greatly rewarded. If not, then all hope will be lost. I sincerely hope that you’ll do this for us. You don’t know how much our daughter means to us, so please bring her back if you can, and we’ll guarantee your safety. Sincerely, Princess mi Amora Cadenza. AKA, Cadence.”
With that in mind, Derpy left, and Sombra placed the letter in his pocket for safekeeping. How he has pockets is because he’s part shadow; that’s all. Anyways, Sombra then decided to look for Flurry Heart; despite him being a villain. Even though he wasn’t going to accept the mission, he had no choice. It’s either help out, or have yetis take over Equestria. With his choice made, he sets off to find Flurry Heart. And so the story begins...
King Sombra is currently scouting the Everfree Forest for Flurry Heart. Unfortunately, the only things he found are cockatrices, and Zecora’s home; which is surprisingly abandoned.
Sombra was about to give up the search, when suddenly he heard rustling in the bushes. He used his magic to conjure a spear, and went into a battle ready stance. “Show yourself!” he commanded. After that, he heard crying. He went to investigate; only to find none other than Flurry Heart. He sheathed his spear and held out his hoof. “It’s alright”, he said. “Your parents sent me a letter to come find you and bring you home. Now I know that it’s a little strange and all, but you have to trust me on this one.”
Sombra was waiting for Flurry Heart to respond. She nodded and said; “okay. But it doesn’t mean I’ll trust you though.” She then grabbed Sombra’s hoof and pulled herself up.
“Okay then”, said Sombra. “You don’t have to trust me you know. Just let me keep you safe till we can make it to your home.”
Flurry Heart was reluctant, but agreed. “Okay“, she said; “but I’m warning you. Do anything funny, then I’ll hurt you.”
Sombra smirked at the princess, and said; “oh please; if anything, I should worry about you hurting me.” He then started to chuckle, which made Flurry Heart lash out at Sombra, but missed. “So, how old are you exactly?” Sombra asked Flurry Heart that question because of two reasons: one is that she can speak clearly. And two is because she’s still in diapers.
“F-four”, Flurry Heart said with a blush. “B-but I’m not a baby anymore. I-I’m a big filly now.”
Sombra smirked and said; “you may be a big filly, but you’re still not potty trained yet.” Flurry Heart was about to say something harsh to King Sombra, but thought better of it and just let it slide for now. “So,” Sombra continued, “where should we go now?”
Flurry thought for a moment, and said; “I don’t know, but I miss my mommy.” Flurry’s eyes started to tear up. Sombra got close to Flurry, and asked; “and what about your dad? Don’t you miss him too?” She nodded, but said; “he’s hurt bad. The yetis have hurt him real good.” Flurry Heart then began to sniffle. Sombra then wipes one of Flurry’s eyes and reassures her; “it’ll be fine. Once we get back to the Crystal Empire: my old kingdom, we can get to your home, and see how better your dad is feeling. Also to make sure your mom is okay too; alright?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “owkay then”, and wipes off her tears. “B-but how are we gonna get back?”
Sombra thought for a moment, and said; “we’ll need help. But first, we gotta get you someplace to rest. Follow me, I know where we can stay for the night.” Flurry Heart nodded and followed alongside King Sombra. She turned to him with curiosity, and asked; “what’s this place we’re going to?” He pets her head, and says; “don’t worry about it. I know a place. It’s safe for everypony, and every creature.” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “I hope so. Because we need all the help we can get.”
It was basically a cloudy day in Ponyville; as all of the clouds have turned gray, and doesn’t seem to go away. I mean, after all; there’s literally nopony in Ponyville; not even Rainbow Dash, or the Wonderbolts. Something tells the two ponies that it’s gonna be like this from now on, and throughout the rest of their adventure as well.
Sombra and Flurry Heart are walking around Ponyville; supposedly trying to look for Sombra’s home; if he had one that is. Sombra was looking at how all of the houses seem vacant. Meanwhile, Flurry Heart was feeling a little uneasy; since not only is she having to follow her enemy, but she too noticed that all the houses seem vacant.
Unable to contain herself, Flurry Heart tapped at Sombra and asked; “I’m feeling a little scared. Where’s your home?” He thought for a minute, and asked back; “ever seen your aunt’s castle before?” She paused for a bit, then replied; “y-yeah?” Sombra then pointed to Twilight’s castle, and said; “it’s like that, but with black crystals.” Flurry Heart pointed, and asked; “like that one?” She was pointing at a castle that’s similar to her aunt’s castle. How nopony noticed that in the first place is a mystery. Sombra smiled, pets Flurry’s head again, and said; “that’s the one. Good job.” Flurry got all excited and cheered at her accomplishment, but only for a little bit since she felt embarrassed. Sombra chuckled and said; “Cmon little one. Let’s get into my house before anything from the Everfree forest finds us.” Flurry Heart got scared and climbed onto Sombra’s back. He sighed with a smile and said; “calm down now. If anything’s gonna hurt you, then it’ll be me.” Flurry was a little frightened by that comment, but then calmed down; having some strange satisfaction that it’ll be okay.. for the most part.
Once the two entered the castle, they were greeted with a strange sight. All of Sombra’s decorations were replaced by pictures of Fluttershy. They were once pictures of Sombra supposedly taking over the Crystal Empire, but no longer. Not to mention that he mounted some weapons on the walls to add a little “flavor” into the decor. All of the colors were changed into Fluttershy’s colors; which were once dark and decrypid looking. And not to mention that all of the dishes were replaced with nothing more than tea sets; which were once fine silver and China. Sombra slammed the door behind them, gotten enraged, and shouted; “whoever did this is gonna pay! You hear me?!” After that outburst, Flurry and Sombra could hear laughter coming from the map room, (or Sombra’s version of it). “Cmon”, he said with a huff. “I think I know who did all this. And I’m gonna teach him a lesson.” With that in mind, Flurry cowered behind Sombra’s back, and King Sombra ran to the map room with Flurry Heart in tow.
Once Sombra bursted into the room, he was met with the same decor as last time; especially with the tea set being within the middle of the map. He paused for a minute, then used his shadow magic to conjure a pair of arms and hands, used them to grasp onto Discord by the neck, and slammed him against the wall. How he found Discord already was simple. He was waiting for Discord to get near since he was invisible. And when he heard Discord get near, he strikes.
“Why have you done all this?!” Sombra demanded with anger. “Change everything back, now! Or I will send you straight into the depths of Tartarus for this!” Sombra was basically not having it, not one bit.
Discord snapped his claw to teleport out of Sombra’s grasp and says; “oh don’t be such a baby about it. I mean..” Discord snapped his claw to turn everything back to normal, except that now Sombra’s wearing a diaper, has a pacifier in his mouth, and a pink bonnet on his head. “..you’re apparently far too easy to mess with. Not like that pampered princess, eugh.”
Flurry Heart gotten enraged by that statement, and shouted; “hey! I heard that!” Discord laughed and simply pinched one of Flurry’s cheeks gently. Flurry Heart swatted his claw away and demanded with a glowing horn; “if you don’t stop this funny business right now. I will..!”
But before Flurry could finish her demand, she was stopped by Sombra putting his shadow hand in front of her. She stopped, took a breath, and stopped her horn from glowing. Sombra nodded, and then spat out the pacifier, took off the bonnet, and took the diaper off. “Look, pal. Something weird is going on, and I don’t have time for games; especially the ones you play Discord”, Sombra said with a huff. He was still angry at what Discord did to his castle before.
Discord made a sarcastically sad face, and said; “oh, I know.” He then flew on top of Sombra and continued; “but it’s just been so lonely here without Fluttershy. And I just don’t know what I would do without her.” Discord then took out a tissue and blew on it. Where the tissue came from is up to debate.
Sombra sighed and took a breath. After that, he said; “so what? Stay home. You’re not welcome here.” Flurry got angry and said; “yeah big meanie. Leave my new friend’s home or else!” Sombra stopped Flurry once more with his shadow hand, and then says to Discord; “either way, we do need help. Now then.. you can either choose to help us, (which is unlikely). Or you can stay home, and me and Flurry Heart can go to the Crystal Empire without you.”
Discord thought of that statement, and then nodded. “I’ll help you. But you’ll have to do something for me.” Flurry and Sombra looked at each other with concerned looks, and then looked back at Discord. “I need you two to go find Fluttershy, and bring her back here please. She’ll be in the school of friendship, so no worries.”
Flurry Heart responded; “okay... but what’s in it for us?”
Discord thought for a moment, then said; “if you do this task for me, then I’ll help you in your quest.”
Sombra thought for a minute, and asked; “and if we don’t?” Discord replied; “if you don’t, then I’ll leave, and you two will be left to fend for yourselves from the yetis tonight.” Sombra and Flurry both looked stunned. They’ve never expected Discord to make such a threat like that. They both huddled and whispered somethings to each other; deciding on what they should do.
After that, Sombra and Flurry unhuddled, and then Flurry said; “deal, but no funny business; not even a prank, got it?”
Discord had a whoopie cushion out, pouted, and then shoved the cushion back into his arm, (or sleeve? Don’t question it, it’s Discord). “Fine”, Discord said with a huff. “But I’m not gonna enjoy it.”
Sombra walked towards Discord and said; “no one is gonna like this; not even me.” He patted Discord on the shoulder, and backed away. He then continued by asking; “so... where exactly is this, school of friendship?” Discord grinned, and rubbed his claws together. Something tells Sombra and Flurry Heart that this adventure is gonna be off to a rough start... .
King Sombra and Flurry Heart; having accepted Discord’s offer, decided to go and prepare first for just in case the quest goes sideways. Sombra went to go get some weapons and supplies from his armory; which Discord hasn’t touched yet. Meanwhile; Flurry Heart went to her aunt’s castle to retrieve some things of her own, (which may or may not help in the quest). After the two of them got what they needed, they regrouped in the map room in Sombra’s castle, and started devising a plan.
But before that can happen, Sombra suggested that they should take inventory first for just in case. Flurry Heart agreed, and laid her stuff down on the map. Sombra laid his stuff down too, and started to keep track.
“So; I have one sword, one armor set, one shield, and some rations for in case we get thirsty or hungry”, said Sombra while tracking his inventory on a scroll.
Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “I have one weapon, which only I can use, a few sippy cups filled with juice for me, some cookies, and a few plushies.”
King Sombra looked over at Flurry’s inventory, and said; “so that’s one small silver spoon, drinks, snacks, and plushies?” Flurry Heart nodded. Sombra continued; “but why plushies? We don’t need those.” Flurry hugged one of her plushies, and said; “I need them”, while looking at Sombra with baby eyes. Sombra sighed, and went to go get something to pack his stuff.
Flurry Heart smiled and laid out her belongings so she can pack them too. But before she could, Discord appeared in front of her and said; “you know, for a little baby and all, you sure are prepared.” Flurry Heart got red in the face and said; “I’m no baby; I’m a big filly.” Discord rolled his eyes with a smirk, and stated; “oh; sure you are. Just be sure to not have an accident in there”, Discord pointed. He was pointing at Flurry’s diaper, which made her blush. He then decided to stretch her diaper, and released; causing it to snap at Flurry Heart. Flurry started to whimper, but then she saw Sombra tossing a heavy backpack towards Discord; which caused him to fall. Flurry Heart giggled, and then resumes gathering her stuff so she can pack them.
Sombra approached Discord and said; “since you allowed us to go on your quest, you’re helping us, got it? I don’t trust you around my house. Not to mention that you’re starting to look skinny; like a stick bug.” Sombra smirked, and Discord got angry, but decided that it wasn’t worth the effort, and nodded his head in defeat. “Good”, said Sombra; “now help us pack up.” Discord obliged, and helped them pack up.
Before all three of them left the castle, Sombra and Flurry both checked to see if there was anything missing, or rigged to become a prank of sorts by Discord in their bags. They didn’t find anything, and continued heading towards the front door. “Alright”, began Sombra. “If any of you need to go to the bathroom, do so before we leave. I went already before I got my stuff, so I’m good.” Flurry Heart shook her head no, but Discord was raising his claw. Sombra sighed and asked; “do you need to go?” Discord nodded, and Sombra sighed again. “It’s at the end of the hall”, he pointed. “And no funny business, got it?” Discord nodded in approval, and flew straight to the bathroom. While they waited, Sombra turned to Flurry, and asked; “you sure you don’t need to go? It’s a long trip after all.” Flurry Heart shook her head, and said; “no. But if I do use my diapee, then I have more. See?” Flurry turned to show Sombra her extra diapers in her bag; for just in case. Sombra nodded, and said; “alright kid, good job.” Flurry Heart clapped in cheerful accomplishment, and waited for Discord with Sombra.
They hear a flush and saw Discord come out of a random room; which apparently wasn’t the bathroom. “Whew. I wouldn’t go in there if I were you”, Discord said while pointing towards the door he came out of. Sombra was about to shout at Discord, but thought the better of it, and said; “alright. Now that everyone has done what they needed to, let’s save Fluttershy.” And with that, they’re off to the school.
All three of them were almost at the school, when suddenly Flurry Heart started to whine. They stopped, then Sombra turned to ask; “what’s the matter? You hurt?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “my feet huwrt. Cawwy me pwease?” Discord started to laugh, but Sombra stopped him before he could continue. “Alright kid”, said Sombra with a sigh. “Up you go.” Sombra laid down so Flurry can climb on top of him. Flurry Heart flew onto Sombra’s back, and held on. “Now that Flurry’s okay, let’s continue.” Sombra got up, and started to walk with Flurry Heart to the school. Discord however; was far too busy laughing to follow them; until he got pulled by his ear by Sombra, and was dragged back into the group.
Now that they arrived at the school; the three of them decided to separate for a while in order to look for any clues of Fluttershy’s presence, and planned to meet up by the cafeteria to regroup once the search was complete. But unfortunately, as they separated, Flurry Heart got trapped in the janitor’s closet, Discord was locked in the library somehow, and Sombra was stuck in the cafeteria. Before all three could process what just happened, a cute yet villainous voice spoke in the intercom.
“Greetings little ponies, and Discord”, said the voice in the intercom. “Welcome to my lair. For if you want to see Fluttershy again, you’ll have to do this task for me. Sombra, you’ll be tasked with making me a sandwich. Flurry Heart, you’ll be tasked with giving me one of your plushies to play with. And Discord, you’ll be tasked with finding me a nice cute book to read, ASAP. Now then, do all of these three tasks, and I will grant all of you your freedom. Fail to do this, and you’ll be trapped in here forever. Ta ta. *laughs maniacally*”. The intercom was turned off, and was no longer in use.
Flurry Heart started to cry; due to sheer fear and all… . But eventually thought the better of it, and began to decide on what plushie to give to this mysterious stranger. Discord meanwhile, was going through all the books in the library; trying to find that one book to give to that evil being. Lastly, Sombra was busy looking for some ingredients to make this “little filly” a sandwich. Once all three have done their tasks, they were all released, and led to the head mare’s office for a debrief of sorts. Meaning that all three are freed, but are being led to an office by some type of magic force to meet this mysterious villain somehow. Once all three reunited and entered the room, they encountered Cozy Glow; who’s clearly just laughing herself silly. Sombra got mad at first, but decided otherwise and gave Cozy Glow the thing he was tasked with doing. The other two did the same, and waited for Cozy’s response.
“Well… ?” said Sombra impatiently. “Where’s our freedom?” Cozy Glow shrugged, and pointed at Discord; who is now red in the face, and sweating from guilt. Sombra and Flurry glared daggers at him, but then Discord confessed; “okay I lied. I’m so sorry. Fluttershy also disappeared. She was never in Ponyville to begin with. I’m so sorry.” Discord then took out a lollipop from out of nowhere as an apologetic gesture of sorts. “Apology accepted?” Sombra smacked it away from Discord, and stomped it on the ground; shattering the lollipop into pieces. Sombra then grabbed Discord by the fur, and said; “you’ve got a lot of explaining to do. So just spit it out!” Discord agreed, and began his explanation... .
Discord; having explained his reasoning for knowing about Cozy Glow, was apparently in distress, and slightly nervous because he assumed that Sombra would beat him up. Instead, he lifted Discord to his feet, and then gave him a good punch in the back of the head. Discord rubbed his head, and then nodded to Sombra’s punishment; knowing that if he did anything like that again, then it’ll get worse from there on out.
Sombra turned towards Cozy Glow, and then asked; “so kid, why are you here? Not to mention, how did you even get here?” Before Cozy could answer her question, she made a noise; like as if she was trying to say something, but couldn’t make out what it is... . Sombra asked; “you okay? Can’t talk?” Cozy nodded, and pointed towards one of the drinks that Sombra has brought for her. He obliged and gave Cozy her drink. After she was done, she sighed in relief, and thanked Sombra. “Don’t thank me yet; we still have to get Flurry Heart back to the Crystal Empire; which I remind you was my old kingdom.” Flurry rolled her eyes at that statement with a smile, and went rummaging through her bag to check and see if anything was missing when she was trapped in the janitor’s closet.
“So... what do we do now?” Cozy Glow asked since she was at a loss as to what’s the plan for the day. Sombra looked towards Cozy Glow, blinks, then says; “what do you mean we? We’re not taking you with us.” Cozy Glow then replied; “yes you are; don’t you remember? Discord told you I was coming with. Didn’t you listen?” Sombra blinked, and then said sheepishly; “to be honest, yes. But I was so angry at Discord that I simply forgot. Regardless, even if you’re coming with us, I highly doubt that you’ll be of any help to us. I mean; Discord wasn’t much help at all during the entire trip. And he was mostly busy with looking around the school, and messing with some of the decorations when we arrived.” Discord pouted at the reply, and crossed his arms.
After all four of them checked their supplies, looked out the window to see if the coast was clear, and then checked to see if they had to use the restroom before going, they all went to the front door of the school to leave.
Unfortunately; before they left; Sombra turned to Cozy Glow, and asked; “so, how’d you end up free and back in Ponyville?”
Cozy looked a little uneasy, and says; “I don’t know to be honest. One minute I was a statue with the other villains; the next I was free, the other villains were still statues, and then I was being chased by a pack of yetis.“
Sombra’s eyes got wide, but then narrowed in concern. “So; since you’ve been chased by yetis; then maybe there could be more out there”, Sombra said with concern and slight worry.
Cozy nodded, and says; “on second thought; maybe we can spend the night here for now. I mean; there’s still some empty bedrooms for the students to use; so why not? And besides; it’s starting to get dark out.”
Sombra nodded, but paused and asked; “wait... . If mostly everypony is gone, then how are the sun and moon still being moved?”
Flurry gasped in realization and says; “auntie Luna and Celestia are still here!” Sombra agreed, but then says; “true. But I don’t think going to Canterlot is a good idea. For all I know; Canterlot could very well be under attack by yetis too.” Flurry Heart grew uneasy of that statement, and nodded in agreement.
Discord sighed and says; “cmon now, I’m tired. Let’s get some sleep. Who’s with me?” The three of them nodded in agreement, and all four went to their respective bedrooms for the night.
However; before all four could get some shut eye; Flurry Heart was kicking her covers off; mainly because she couldn’t get comfortable. Sombra came into her room; having heard all that ruckus, and asked; “you alright? Can’t sleep or something?” Flurry Heart nodded, and then patted the bed beside her so Sombra can sit down next to her. He did, and sat next to her.
Flurry Heart shuffled in her bed to get comfortable, and then said; “mommy and daddy would usually read me a story before bed. But since they’re not here, I was thinking maybe you could. I mean; I really miss them both. And...” Flurry Heart’s eyes then began to tear up. “A-and... I don’t know what I’ll do if anything bad were to happen to them. I-I...”.
Flurry Heart was about to cry, but then Sombra patted her back and assures her; “yeah; that may be... . But if so, then we will do anything to protect them; even you. Am I right?” Flurry Heart sniffled, and then nodded in agreement. “Yeah”, she said with a smile. “We will protect my mama and dada.” Sombra hugged Flurry, and then says; “alright then... . Now; time for bed kiddo. Chop chop”, he clapped. And then Flurry Heart did as she was told.
But before she can get to sleep; Flurry Heart turned to Sombra, and asked; “c-can you read me a bedtime story though; please… ?” Flurry Heart started to look at him with baby eyes again. He sighs, and then says; “alright kid, but just this once; okay? I’m not usually the bedtime storytelling type you know?” Flurry Heart nodded, and smiled while waiting for Sombra to tell her a bedtime story. He sat beside Flurry Heart, and began with; “once upon a time..” and continued.
Meanwhile; Cozy Glow and Discord are at the door frame, just snooping on them from afar. Cozy turned to Discord, and asked; “hmm. You sure that those two aren’t related? Cuz I think that they are. And they’re surely acting like it; right?”
Discord thought for a minute, and then said; “yeah... but they’re just buddies is all. After all; Sombra didn’t marry Cadence you know”, he smirked.
Cozy blinked, and said; “he didn’t? But that’s what I thought.” Discord looked at her with disapproval, and a smile. Cozy then blushed, then said; “you’re right, they’re not. You win.” Discord smiled again, and then the two of them start to see Flurry Heart starting to fall asleep with a yawn; with King Sombra following alongside her. They both dawwed at the sight, and then left them alone for now.
Soon after the two arrived at their bedrooms, Cozy Glow asked; “hey, uh, do you think maybe we can one day become a family? I-I know we’re not related and all, but..”.
Cozy Glow was about to finish her sentence, but was stopped by Discord; who then said; “not really. But eh, who knows? Maybe not in this universe, but another one; okay?”
Cozy Glow frowned, but sighed and smiled. “Okay”, she began. “I guess you’re right.”
And with that, the two went to their bedrooms, and fell asleep. Things were going so well for all four of the group. Until something, or someone else; threatened their peace of mind in the morning. What’s that something? They’ll have to find out once they wake up in the morning... .
The sun started to rise above the heavens; shining ever so brightly across the morning sky. The light from the sun shone across and above the windows of the school; bringing light, and brightness into the once dark; yet not so empty dorm rooms of the school. Flurry Heart and King Sombra were still asleep; having just been wiped out from Cozy’s trials the day before. Meanwhile, Discord and Cozy Glow were just about to wake up the two for themselves, when suddenly they see a being that they thought they would never have to see again until now... .
“Mmm. So much love from those two”, Chrysalis thought to herself; “I can’t wait to salvage this moment.” But just as she was about to feed, Flurry Heart woke up, and started screaming at what she saw. This made King Sombra become jolted awake, and was looking around; unaware at first of the threat before them. As soon as he regained his composure; he saw that the queen of changelings was just about to pounce on them, and feed off of them of their love. But; just before the two were attacked; Discord and Cozy Glow tackled Chrysalis, and binded her with one of the blankets from the top of the bunk bed that Sombra and Flurry Heart were sleeping in.
Sombra got up and approached the queen with a magic dagger in his shadow like arm. As soon as he approached the Queen; he demanded; “so; Chrysalis; we meet again. I have a few questions for you, and you’re gonna answer them truthfully; got it?” Chrysalis attempted to break free, but it was no use; as the blanket that binded her was too strong to be broken out of.
Sombra then got up close to her face, and asked her the first question. “So.. tell me; what are you doing here?” Chrysalis thought for a moment, before replying; “I was hungry, and looking for something to eat. So when I saw a pink like aura near the school; I knew that there’s love to be fed off of from someone... . But I never knew that it would be you two that I’m gonna feed off of.” He was glaring at her for a moment, before backing off of her, but still keeping an eye on her for just in case.
“Second question: how did you get free?” Sombra demanded. Chrysalis thought for another second, before replying once more; “I don’t know. Last time I remembered, I was set in stone with Tirek and Cozy Glow. But when I was freed, I saw that Cozy was freed too, but not Tirek.” Sombra glared at her again, but then stopped afterwards.
He then asked; “final question. Who freed you?” Chrysalis got a bit nervous, and said; “I don’t know about that either. I just know that I was freed, and that’s it. Honest.” This made Sombra get angry, and he raised his voice saying; “yeah right. Likely story. I bet that it was you that freed yourself somehow.” Chrysalis shook her head in anticipation, but then paused and asked; “well what about you? How did you get back to normal? Like; how did you reform yourself back into Equestria?”
All eyes are now on King Sombra. He took a breath, then replied; “I’m King Sombra: King of Shadows. When I’m defeated, I’m never really gone. After all; Sombra is just pony Latin for shadow you know. Which means that I’m part shadow; as well as being part pony. Does that answer your question?” Chrysalis gulped in nervousness, and silently nodded in agreement. All three; even Flurry; were looking at King Sombra with slight shock and horror; not knowing that he can reform himself anytime he wants to; mainly because he’s part shadow. They all didn’t know it, but now they do.
The room was eerily silent; until Flurry Heart broke the silence, and said; “I’m hungry”, while clutching her belly. Sombra sighed, and then said; “cmon kid. Let’s go to the cafeteria, and see if there’s anything for you to eat. After all; eating only cookies is not good for you; okay?” Flurry Heart nodded, and then Sombra continued by saying; “I’m hungry too. So let’s go. However..” he turned to Chrysalis, and said; “you’re coming with us, and staying with us until further notice. In the meantime; you need to eat too, so let’s go. Oh and if you do anything rash, then I’ll personally imprison you into stone myself; got it?” She nodded, and he continued again; “alright. Now that that’s in order, let’s go eat some breakfast. But first we need to get ready for the day.” They all agreed, and then went to their respective bathrooms to tidy themselves up, and get ready for the day.
Discord and Cozy Glow went into their bathroom to brush their teeth, and fix their manes. Discord however, was filing his horns since he doesn’t seem to have a mane of his own; just horns. Flurry Heart was in the bathroom with Sombra and Chrysalis; attempting to brush her teeth on her own; since she was only four, and was also being trained for proper hygiene; as well as potty training. Meanwhile, Sombra was trying to help Chrysalis get ready for the day by helping her brush her teeth. Chrysalis was moving her head away each time, and then stopped and started saying; “I’ve already gotten ready back in the Everfree Forest, so I’m good.” Sombra stopped, and then shrugged as he then cleaned up the toothbrush that he was using to try and help Chrysalis get ready for the day.
After all three were finished, they went to the cafeteria to go and get something for breakfast. Meanwhile, Sombra was brushing his teeth, and looking at the mirror so that he can see Chrysalis’s reflection so that way he can keep an eye on her. Chrysalis frowned in slight annoyance, and asked; “do you really have to keep me here? I mean, we’re all villains; except Flurry Heart. So why don’t we just ditch her, and try going to the empire ourselves?” Sombra paused, spitted out the toothpaste in the sink, and then said; “We can’t. Because firstly, I have a job to do, and it’s to protect my enemy: Princess Flurry Heart. Secondly, she’s just a toddler you know? So not a chance. Thirdly, if I succeed, then everypony will trust me, and then I will no longer be hunted and captured. Lastly, even if we could, we still can’t; albiet the possibility that not only Flurry Heart will be attacked by yetis from out of nowhere, but us as well.” Chrysalis then blinked, and said; “alright”, before looking down at the ground to wait for Sombra to move on. Once Sombra was finished, he picked up Chrysalis, and carried her to the cafeteria to join the others while she was still binded by the blanket she was wrapped in.
Discord and Cozy Glow were eating some toast and eggs because they cooked their own food. Meanwhile, Flurry Heart was hungry, and was busy fighting her urges to spoil breakfast by eating one of her cookies. Just then, she saw Sombra carrying Chrysalis, and flew towards him to ask impatiently; “where were you? I was hungry. And... I don’t know how to cook.“ Sombra sighed, patted Flurry on the head, and said; “sorry kid, but I was making sure that I too get ready for the day. And to keep an eye on this villainous queen over here”, he gestured to Chrysalis; which made her hiss and scoff at him.
He then continued; “so kid, what’re you hungry for? We have orange juice, hay hash browns, eggs, and some toast. What would you like?” Before Flurry Heart could answer, Chrysalis interrupted her, and said; “I would like some toast please.” Sombra gave Chrysalis a scowl before turning back to Flurry Heart, sighed, and then asked; “and you, kid? What do you like to eat?” Flurry Heart thought for a minute, then said; “orange juice and toast, please.” Sombra nodded, and said; “coming right up”, before setting Chrysalis down at a distant table so she won’t interfere with the others’ breakfast time, or try to sneak in some bites from the others’ food.
While Sombra was busy cooking some food for himself, Chrysalis, and Flurry Heart, Flurry walked up to Chrysalis, sat next to her, and asked; “so, you’re back huh? Why do you like to feed off of love from us? Can’t you share it?” This made Chrysalis get a little angry, and raised her voice by saying; “I would if my hive haven’t betrayed me thanks to your excuse of an aunt.” Flurry Heart got teary eyed of that statement, which made Chrysalis sigh, and then lowered her voice by saying; “look kid. Your aunt seemed nice as a villain, but since she made my hive betray me as a hero of sorts, I’ve decided to hate your aunt and loathe her as a result, understand?” Flurry nodded, and wiped the tears from her eyes. “Owkay”, said Flurry while shuffling in her seat from herself almost crying.
Chrysalis sighed again, and then said; “relax kid. At least you have my old friend; or should I say, ‘old ally’ to protect you, right?” Flurry Heart nodded, and then Chrysalis continued; “right. So if you’re feeling down, or if you’re in danger, then I’m sure that he can help you. Okay?” Flurry nodded again, and then smiled. Chrysalis smiled also, and then whispered into Flurry’s ear; “if it makes you feel any better, I kinda wanted in on this quest too. But I don’t know how to break it to him.” Just then, Sombra placed all three of their plates in front of them, and said; “you’re in. But you have to gain my trust first before I can allow you to join us, okay?” Chrysalis blushed, and nodded in agreement. “Alright”, Sombra said before sitting down next to Flurry Heart; “let’s dig in.”
After all five of them finished their breakfast, they went back to their dorms to gather up their stuff. But before they can leave, Flurry turned to Sombra, and asked him; “wait, is she really coming with us? Cuz I don’t know if it’s a good idea. I mean, what if she were to betray us, and kidnap me for herself?” Sombra blinked, and then said while petting Flurry’s head; “relax buddy, Chrysalis isn’t gonna hurt you. And if she does, or escapes with you, then I will keep you safe, and imprison Chrysalis into stone as I’ve stated before, okay?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “okay”, before going to their bunk, and gathering up her stuff.
Meanwhile, Sombra turned to Chrysalis while gathering his stuff, and asked; “so, since you’re coming with us, aren’t you gonna get ready?” Before she can answer, Flurry tugged on Sombra’s cape, and said; “I need to go potty.” Sombra stopped for a minute, then said; “alright. Let me take you to the bathroom, and then I’ll get my stuff ready, okay? Let me know when you’re done, and I’ll help you out, alright?” Flurry Heart nodded, and raised her hooves. Sombra picked her up, and carried her to the bathroom. He then sat Flurry down to where the bathroom was, (also known as “the potty”,) and turned to leave. But before he did, he turned back and asked; “need anything else before I leave you be?” Flurry nodded and gestured him to leave. Sombra laughed for a bit, and said; “alright then, just let me know when you’re done.” Flurry nodded, and then waited for Sombra to leave. He then closed the door so Flurry can have some privacy.
Once that was taken care of, he then turned to Chrysalis, and asked again; “aren’t you gonna get ready?” She thought for a minute, then frowned, and said; “I don’t have any stuff to bring for the trip. And even if I did, they wouldn’t be useful anyways. I used to have a lot of food, drinks, and weapons for my trip. But when I was at the edge of the Everfree Forest, I was ambushed by the yetis, and then had my stuff demolished by them. After that, they left, and now all my stuff was gone; even my plush teddy bear.”
This made Sombra blink in surprise, and he asked; “you had a plush teddy bear?” Chrysalis nodded with a blush of embarrassment. He then continued by asking; “why? Why did you need a teddy bear? Aren’t you a little old for that?” Chrysalis blushed, and then said; “yeah. But it keeps me calm through all the tough times you know? I mean, you used to have one before you decided to take on the Crystal Empire by yourself; remember?”
Sombra blinked again, and then said; “yeah.. I did. But that was a long time ago. I don’t need it anymore.” Chrysalis nodded in content, and then said; “well, if you want, we can get a new one for ourselves after this quest, right?” Sombra nodded, but said; “maybe. But I don’t think I will. I’ll be fine, I promise.” Chrysalis asked; “you sure?” Sombra replied; “I will, don’t worry. I mean cmon, I’m a villain too you know? I can’t just keep myself occupied with anything soft and plushy, am I right?”
Chrysalis nodded again in agreement, and then said; “alright”, before turning away to look out the window. “Just, let me know okay? I could use a partner in this quest, alright?” Sombra nodded, then said; “alright, but we’re technically all partners here. So I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s okay.” Sombra then approached Chrysalis and smiled at her. He then said; “if you want, we can have a family together one day you know? If you want to that is. I’m not rushing you.” Chrysalis nodded again with a smile, and then said; “okay”, before looking back at the window.
Sombra was gonna go back to get his stuff prepared, when he heard Flurry say something from the bathroom; “I’m finished. You can help me out now.” Sombra turned to the bathroom door, and said; “okay, one minute.” Before he can open the door, Chrysalis stopped him in his tracks, and said; “you know what? I think I can hold you up on that offer, if you’re up to it that is, you know?” Chrysalis said with a smile. Sombra then smiled back, and said; “I am. I’ll be sure to let you know, okay? But first, we gotta get this little princess back to her homeland, alright?” Chrysalis smiled again, and said; “okay”, before stepping aside to let Sombra into the bathroom so he can help Flurry Heart out of there, and for her to wash her hooves before getting prepared to leave with them.
After all five successfully gotten everything ready, Flurry Heart was smiling that she went to the bathroom like a big filly, and that she was glad that Sombra helped her out; albeit to his disgust, and slight uncomfortableness. Regardless, he was proud also that his archenemy was growing up, and of course learning all the basics; including personal hygiene, and what to do in potty training; which also includes, flushing the toilet when finished, and washing her hooves afterwards. Discord and Cozy Glow were also smiling; since not only did they get ready for the trip ahead, but also that they were starting to become best friends too. And not to mention that Cozy also went to the bathroom like a big filly; since after all, even though she’s villainous, she is also a little filly who has basic needs too, and or training as well.
As soon as all five of them went to meet at the front door, Sombra went up and asked; “so, since everyone is ready, are we missing anything? Or do any of y’all need to use the restroom as well before leaving?” Everyone shook their heads, but Discord raised his claw and asked; “can I go before leaving? I forgot to when I was helping Cozy Glow with going to the bathroom herself.” Sombra sighed, and says; “alright, but make it quick. And no funny business, got it?” Discord nodded, and flew himself back to his original dorm to do his business. After a few minutes, he was back and sighed with relief whilst saying; “whew that was tough. I wouldn’t recommend going in there for a while.” All four groaned, and then Sombra asked; “next time; keep that stuff to yourself, okay? We really don’t need anymore problems than what we have right now, alright?” Discord nodded again, and then Sombra continued; “alright then. Let’s go to the Crystal Empire.”
However, as soon as he turned to open the doors, Flurry Heart asked; “are we gonna be okay?” Sombra smiled, and said; “yes we are. After all, you have all four of us to defend you. And besides..” he said with a nervous grin while facing the front door. “What’s the worst that can happen?”... .
King Sombra, Flurry Heart, and the gang are at the edge of the Everfree Forest; contemplating whether they should take this as a good shortcut to the Crystal Empire or not. Back then, they tried to use the trains at first to travel there. But unfortunately; those too were also abandoned like the other places in Ponyville… .
They then went to Canterlot; only to find that it was still under attack by yetis.
Lastly; they’ve decided to use Twilight’s friendship map as a last resort in order to navigate a safer shortcut to use so that way there’d be less yetis to encounter, and so Flurry Heart wouldn’t whine and fuss from all the scary locations there are and that they’ve been through.
After the decision was made; they’re now to where they are standing; wondering if they should’ve gone back to the train station in order to try to operate it, and transport themselves to the Crystal Empire on their own; or whether to go back to Twilight’s castle, and then decide on a more better shortcut that doesn’t seem more dangerous, or scary. But since they’re at a loss; they chose the latter, and went ahead with it.
“So”, began Sombra. “Any of y’all sure that this is a good idea? We can always plan out something else as a means to get to the Crystal Empire safely; without any trouble in the way of course.”
All four thought for a minute, before Cozy Glow raised her hoof, and said; “maybe... but maybe we should try to go back, and try the trains again? Who knows? They could still be in working order.”
All four agreed with Cozy Glow, but then Sombra stated; “I guess it’s possible… . But then again… ; it’ll be too time consuming to check and see whether the trains still work or not. For all I know; none of us knew anything useful about trains… ; let alone on how to operate them even… .” All four frowned, and nodded in agreement.
Just then; before all five could come up with a different plan of action; they suddenly hear roaring coming from behind them. They all turned to see a pack of yetis heading towards them from the school of friendship. All of their eyes grew wide, and then Cozy Glow yelled out; “run!” and sprinted into the Everfree Forest. The rest of the gang followed suit, and then lost the yetis into the forest. Unfortunately; that’s not the only thing or things that they lost within the forest... .
“Wait, where’s Cozy Glow?” Sombra asked with a heavy breath from running too fast.
After all four regained their composure; they then started shouting for Cozy Glow, but failed… . Eventually; they’ve all decided to spread out, and look for Cozy Glow on their own.
Flurry Heart went with King Sombra to search for Cozy Glow with him, and because she doesn’t want to be left all alone again. Meanwhile; Discord and Chrysalis paired up, and flew high to the skies to help the other two search for Cozy Glow.
Sombra found a hidden spring, but no Cozy Glow. Flurry Heart saw some interesting lizards and glow bugs, but no Cozy Glow. Discord found an eagle’s nest, but got attacked as he was too close. Chrysalis found a phoenixes’ nest, and also got attacked as well; as she was too close to the nest too… .
All four of them eventually decided to meet up at Zecora’s old home to regroup, and plan out a different strategy on how to find Cozy Glow… .
“Where could she have gone?” said Chrysalis. “We’ve been searching for what felt like ages… .”
Discord then rubbed his knee caps, and stretched to pop them whilst saying; “yeah; and I’m getting cramps over here just walking everywhere with you three… .” All three looked at Discord with raised eyebrows, and then Flurry Heart said; “I saw you with Chrysalis flying. You weren’t walking remember?” Discord chuckled and said; “whoops. Must’ve slipped my mind… .”
But; just as all four were beginning to lose hope; they suddenly hear crying. “Here!” pointed out Sombra. “I think I hear her; let’s go!” All four of them then ran as fast as they could whilst calling for Cozy Glow at the same time. After five minutes, they saw Cozy Glow crying in a ditch; battered, and bruised from supposedly falling.
“There you are”, said King Sombra. “We were worried sick… . What happened?”
Cozy Glow got up, wiped away her tears, and said while whimpering; “I was go-gonna run away from the y-yetis. B-but then I got lost. A-and I was scared.“ Cozy Glow paused to wipe her nose with a sniffle. Then she continued; “A-and then I was running because I h-heard something scary. A-and then I fell. A-and... I hurt myself.” Cozy Glow then started to cry really loudly from getting hurt.
Sombra sighed, picked up Cozy Glow, cradled her, and said; “well don’t worry about it kid. Luckily for you; I brought a first aid kit for just in case I was hurt, or attacked.”
Chrysalis looked at Sombra with a raised eyebrow and asked; “you carry a medkit with you all the time? Why?”
Sombra replied; “for in case something like this happened… . Or if I were to be hurt like Cozy did.” Cozy agreed with a teary eyed nod.
Chrysalis sighed, and said; “okay then. I still think it’s weird though.”
Sombra then replied back; “not really. Besides; I don’t call you weird because of how you look; do I?” Chrysalis blushed, and then shook her head no. “Exactly”, said Sombra. “So don’t call me, or anyone else weird, okay?” Chrysalis nodded, and said; “okay”, before leaving to get close to Discord for just in case she were to be attacked somehow.
After Cozy Glow was patched up, she was then carried onto Sombra’s back, and she then held onto him so she wouldn’t fall. Sombra then packed up his medkit, and stood up. “Alright”, he began. “Now that Cozy Glow’s okay, we can finally continue going to the Crystal Empire through the Everfree Forest. Any questions?” All three; even Cozy Glow, shook their heads no. “Alright then. Let’s go.”
But before they left; Flurry Heart tugged onto Sombra’s cape, and said; “I have a question.” Sombra turned, and asked; “what’s the question?” Flurry Heart tensed up due to the question that she was about to ask, but then said; “nothing…” and looked down. Sombra sighed, and said while petting Flurry’s head; “hey; it’s okay. It’ll be fine; trust me. And if you have any problems or issues, then let me know; okay?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “okay”; before turning to walk with the others… .
Sombra then turned to Cozy, and whispered; “it’ll be fine kid. Try and get some rest. I’ll let you know once we’re out of this forest. Okay?” Cozy nodded, and said; “okay”; before starting to fall asleep. Sombra whispered; “alright”, and smiled before turning to join the others for their journey… .
Once they got out of the Everfree Forest, they saw what looked like an abandoned train on the horizon. Discord and Chrysalis went onward to investigate. Meanwhile; King Sombra and Flurry Heart sat down and unpacked their stuff so they can have a snack, and a drink.
Sombra looked up at the afternoon sky, turned to Flurry, and asked; “you sure you’re feeling okay? You can let me know if something’s wrong.” Flurry Heart nodded, and then said; “well, maybe... . But it’s not just that.” Sombra said; “alright”, and waited for a response. Flurry Heart responded by saying; “I’ve been thinking… . Not only are you: my enemy, helping me out with getting back to my mommy and daddy… . But the other villains are helping me out too… . Why?”
Sombra sighed, and then said; “well… I bet that it’s because they feel guilty for what they did.” Flurry Heart looked on with curiosity, and took a bite out of her cookie. Sombra smiled at Flurry, and then continued; “that, or they just wanted to not be labeled as villains anymore… ; like me.” Flurry Heart asked; “why?” and then Sombra replied; “well, maybe they feel bad, or they just don’t want to be known as villains anymore so that way they can commit more villainous acts like me. But I’ll never tell; you’re just a filly after all.” Sombra smirked, and took a bite out of his oats and chocolate bar. Flurry Heart pouted and growled while getting red in the face at that statement. But then she eventually sighed, and got calm while she’s no longer looking angry… . Defeated; she simply nodded, and took another bite out of her cookie.
Sombra then got close, wrapped one hoof, (or shadow arm); around Flurry Heart, and said; “it’ll be okay. I’ll let you know if my old colleagues are bad again; alright? That way; me and you can defeat them together one day if that happens; is that alright with you?” Flurry Heart giggled, and said; “okay”; before going back to her snack. Cozy Glow meanwhile was just mumbling to herself in her sleep. What is she saying is unknown… .
However; just as soon as Sombra and Flurry Heart were done with their snacks; they got up, and proceeded to brush off the crumbs off of themselves because of their snacks getting them all messy. Soon afterward, they saw something moving in the distance, but couldn’t make out what at first. As soon as it got closer, they realized what it is… . It was a train with one passenger car that can seat sixteen ponies in there. Sombra turned to Flurry Heart, and motioned her; “let’s go”; before turning to run towards the train car. Flurry Heart followed behind, and caught up to him while getting to the train car. Once everyone was inside the train; they were seated, and then the train started moving again.
“Wow. I didn’t expect the train to move at all… . How’d you two do it?” Sombra said to Chrysalis who was sitting aside and across from him. Chrysalis replied; “it wasn’t easy… . But it turns out that all you have to do is to just press the on/off button on the train controls.” Sombra and Flurry Heart looked at each other in bewilderment, turned towards Chrysalis, and then Flurry Heart asked; “you can do that?” Chrysalis shrugged, and then said; “why not? It wasn’t that hard really… . And what happened to Cozy Glow?” Sombra then pointed to her, and said; “she’s asleep. I’m deciding to wake her up once we reach the Crystal Empire.” Chrysalis said; “oh, okay then. Nice.” and then turned to look out the window.
Flurry Heart was smiling and moving her back hooves on the seat; when suddenly she paused, and then asked; “w-wait? Who’s controlling the train then?” Chrysalis raised an eyebrow with a frown, before gesturing; “take a wild guess”, and then lowered her hoof. Discord then spoke on the intercom, and greeted; “good evening ladies; and Sombra. We’re just about to reach the Crystal Empire in less than an hour… ; no rhyming puns intended.” All three; including Cozy Glow who’s still asleep; groaned, and rolled their eyes. Discord then continued; “oh come on now… . I’m just trying to lighten the mood here.”
Flurry Heart unexpectedly stood up, and then shouted; “well we don’t want that, meanie. So pipe down!” Sombra looked at Flurry Heart all shocked, and then she shrugged back; “what?” before sitting back down in her seat.
Sombra regained his composure, and then said; “well, I mean... ; that’s okay and all... . But you still don’t have to yell at him like that. I mean yes, he is rather annoying… . But it doesn’t really give you the right to yell at him like that regardless; okay? That’s just not nice.” Flurry Heart got red in the face again and then stood up while looking at Sombra with an angry look in her face. She was just about to say something mean to him, but eventually calmed down, and sat back in her seat. Flurry Heart then started to look sad, and says; “sorry”, before looking down at the ground with tears in her eyes.
She was just about to cry from getting in trouble; when suddenly Sombra leaned towards her, puts his shadow like hand on her shoulder, rubbed it for a bit, and says; “hey now; it’s okay. You’re just learning about new experiences you know? And probably stressed out from the trip too… . Tell you what; once we get back to your kingdom; we can stop by and get you a new plushie to bring home along the way. Is that alright with you?” Flurry Heart’s eyes lit up, and then asked; “you mean it?” Sombra nodded, and said; “I do”; with a smile.
Flurry Heart jumped up at King Sombra, and gave him a big hug whilst saying; “thank you thank you thank you. You’re the best.” Sombra was speechless; but then chuckles a bit, and returned the hug whilst saying; “no problem kid. And no worries.” He then started to lean into Flurry Heart’s ear and whispered; “ how about this… . I won’t tell your parents about what you did… . And you won’t have to explain anything about the new plushie as well; okay?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said; “okay”, before returning to giving Sombra a big hug.
Once all four of them arrive at the Crystal Empire Train Station; all three got up to stretch, and move their hooves freely so that way they can move more better now; since they have been in their seats for a total hour without moving at all of course… . Meanwhile; Cozy Glow is still asleep, and clinging onto Sombra’s back. While Discord however; was too busy stretching, and popping his joints so that way he too can move more freely; since he was the conductor for the train after all.
Once all four got off, they then checked to see if anyone is either missing anything, or needing to go to the bathroom… . Once that’s settled; they all walked towards the Crystal Empire castle; where they would supposedly meet the royal parents… ; safe, and unharmed. However; once they arrived… ; they soon founded out that that’s just not the case anymore… .
Once Sombra and the gang entered the Crystal Empire castle; they were met with crystal guards on the ground; (supposedly wounded with bruises and such… ), many decorations and paintings destroyed… . And of course… ; the rest of the castle staff all injured and barely moving… . Mainly because they’re either knocked out, or hurt too badly due to the sheer surprise of the attack… . And mainly because of the brute strength from those yetis too that caused all this… . Ouch… .
“Be on guard you guys”; said Sombra cautiously. “I fear that we’re not alone in this castle… .” Sombra then proceeds to unsheathe a spear from a holster on his back while magically levitating Cozy Glow off of him while he’s doing so… . So that way she won’t get hurt while he was getting ready for a fight… . Flurry Heart got out the only weapons a filly like herself could use; her magic, and a silver spoon. Discord started to spark out magic with his claws as a means to defend himself for just in case. Chrysalis then got out what looks to be a sword of some kind, and a dagger as well for just in case. “Alright”, said Sombra. “Let’s go and see if we can look for anyone that’s able to help us in our search.” And with that; all four of them went to look for somepony to help them, or who’s able to tell them where the royal parents are at… .
Cozy Glow then started to wake up, and asked; “what’s happening?” Cozy Glow was back on Sombra’s back, and still holding onto him. She then saw Sombra’s spear, and started to whine because of the sight of it.
Sombra looked at Cozy, and said; “relax buddy… . We’ve just entered the Crystal Castle… . If you want; you can either go back to sleep… . Or you can help us look for the parents… . Okay?” Cozy Glow nodded, and said; “okay… .” before getting out a wooden spoon as a weapon, and clutching it while holding onto Sombra’s back as well. Sombra said; “okay then… .” and patted Cozy’s head. “Try and get some rest. I’ll be sure to wake you up once we find some yetis that you can hurt… ; alright?” Cozy Glow giggled with a smile, and said, “okay… .” right before falling back asleep with a yawn. Chrysalis looked at Sombra, and said; “you know… . If you want; maybe we can adopt Cozy Glow after all of this is said and done. What’ya say… ?” Sombra thought about it for a bit, and then replied; “maybe… . I’ll think about it once I’ve thought it through… ; alright?” Chrysalis nodded and felt happy about that answer.
But just as soon as the group was about to separate to cover more ground; they heard a scream coming from a distant room somewhere. “Mommy… ?” Flurry Heart questioned. They all stopped and leaned in to listen for somepony to call out again… . Eventually; somepony did. “Flurry Heart? Is that you? Where are you honey?” Flurry Heart got all excited, and said; “mommy! That’s my mommy! She’s in danger out there… ! Let’s go save her!” Sombra and the others all nodded in agreement; except for Cozy Glow. She’s still asleep; trying to catch up on her rest since the trip.
Flurry Heart was about to run off, but Sombra stopped her and warned; “wait. I wouldn’t go to her just yet. There could be more yetis in the castle; especially with her. We have to approach her slowly… and with caution… . Okay?” Flurry Heart whined, but then nodded in agreement. “Just... don’t let them hurt my mommy... okay?” Sombra then leaned down, put his shadow hand on her head, and said; “I won’t kid… ; don’t worry.” He got up and started approaching the room where Cadence’s voice last came from. The others soon followed after.
After what seemed like five minutes; they made it to a room that looked like a little baby’s room. Flurry Heart called out; “mommy… ? You in there?” The room’s double doors were opened slightly when they first saw it. Suddenly; they saw one of the doors starting to open some more… ; causing the group to ready their weapons. Once the door was completely opened, they saw Cadence at the front of the room. Flurry Heart got all excited and ran towards her mommy in excitement. “Mommy, mommy!” she said with happiness; knowing that her own mommy was safe and sound, and unharmed by those mean yetis. Cadence then spreaded out her hooves, and embraced her child with a warm hug.
After a few minutes; the group then hid away their weapons, and started to approach the two. Cadence looked at them, and they stopped. Sombra then spoke out; “I believe that we had a deal in mind?” Cadence looked like she was thinking, but then her eyes grew wide, and said; “oh… ! Right! The deal… ! Hehe… . Sorry about that… . Please, come in! It’s no trouble really… .” Sombra said; “alright,” and walked forward. The group then soon followed, and all were inside the room. But not before looking to see if the coast was clear, and then closed the doors behind them before locking it.
After Cadence letted go of Flurry Heart, she got up, turned to the group, and then said; “thank you… all of you… . If it wasn’t for you four, then surely my daughter would’ve been hurt.” Sombra smiled, and said; “it’s no big deal, really… . I was just doing what you wanted me to do. And besides...” Sombra stopped for a moment to set Cozy Glow down on one of Flurry Heart’s pillows that was strewn on the floor, and continued; “… if anyone’s gonna hurt you, then it’d be us; right?” Cadence blushed with certainty, and then sheepishly nodded in agreement. Sombra smiled, and then said; “so… . Now that we’ve rescued your daughter and saved you… . Where’s our reward?”
Cadence was about to answer, when suddenly a pack of yetis bursted through the doors, and started growling. This made Cozy Glow wake up startled, and then she raised her spoon in front of her to combat the yetis while looking at them… ; after looking all over the place first… . The rest of the group; even Cadence; got out their weapons, and were just about to attack… .
Just then; they saw some yetis getting knocked down. They didn’t know what was causing it at first, until they saw the last yeti fall. Flurry Heart’s eyes lit up as she soon saw who it was that took them all down… . “Daddy… !” she said in excitement.
Flurry Heart then hid her weapon away, and then went to fly towards Shining Armor to give him a big hug… . He felt his daughter tackle him, and then giving him a nuzzle while hugging him tightly. He patted Flurry Heart on the back and said; “okay kid… that’s enough. I’m here now… . You can let go of me.” Flurry Heart obliged, and released Shining Armor from his hug. He then started to look around the room, and said; “wow... . You guys sure do like to make yourselves feel welcome… . Huh guys… ?” Sombra frowned, sighed in slight annoyance, and said; “well… ? We didn’t had much of a choice now did we?” Shining Armor blushed slightly, and nodded. Sombra then continued by saying; “that’s what I thought… . Now then...” he clapped with his shadow hands as he began. “What is our reward for helping your daughter getting back home safely… ? Huh pal? What’s our prize… ?” Shining Armor thought for a moment, and said; “I’ll be right back… ;” before leaving the room.
After what felt like five minutes… ; Shining Armor came back with five medals in a case. “These are your rewards… . Now; since you all helped my daughter get back home safe; I suppose we can grant you these in return huh? What’ya say?” Sombra thought for a moment, and said; “alright, but what’s the catch?” Shining Armor was confused, and looked at him in confusion. Sombra then rephrased; “meaning; how’re these our rewards?” Shining Armor finally understood, and said; “well… ; if you have these medals, then you’ll be known as heroes of the entire kingdom. Plus you’ll no longer be labeled as villains from here on out. Understood?”
All of the villains looked at each other with amazed looks and cheered. “Sweet”, said Cozy Glow. “But what am I gonna get in return?” Sombra walked towards Cozy Glow, tickled her belly; causing her to giggle, and then stated; “we’re getting medals and being labeled as heroes from here on out. You wanted something else?” Cozy Glow nodded and said; “I wanted something else after the medal and title.” Sombra shrugged, and asked; “alright then. What do you want?” Cozy Glow was about to answer, when suddenly her stomach started growling. Sombra nodded and chuckled with a smile, and said; “alright then. Let’s go get something to eat, and then we’ll see what happens… ; okay?” Cozy Glow nodded, and said; “okay”.
After Sombra picked up Cozy Glow; the group then followed The Royal Family to go get some dinner. Everything seemed to be great, until... .
In the royal dining room, there was a big buffet big enough for the entire table. Discord was eating what looks to be some kind of jello that was supposedly alive, and it wailed each time he took a bite out of it. Chrysalis was eating some interesting slime substance that apparently was very rough, but still soft in nature. Meanwhile, the rest of the group were eating some food made from the royal kitchen; consisting of some sandwiches, salads, and some wraps filled with certain wild flowers, lettuce, and herbs.
“Wow. I’m impressed. You guys have really outdone yourselves”, Sombra said before taking another bite out of his sandwich. “Oh cmon”, began Cadence, “it’s no trouble really. We’ve just thought that you guys would’ve been parched from the trip is all.” Sombra nodded, “true, we were. But wait..” he paused, “..what are we gonna do after this? Like, what about all those ponies back in the castle hallways?” Flurry Heart gulped and looked at Shining Armor; who then said, “it’s fine really. I still have some royal guards still capable of bringing the injured to the medics.” Sombra nodded again, and said, “nice. You know, for my enemy and all..” he paused to gulp his food down before continuing, “..you really are organized. How’d you do it ever since you first took over the kingdom when I was defeated?” Shining Armor paused eating, and then said, “well, I did get some help from my wife here after all”, he said with a smirk. “Besides, you’re not the only one who had help right?” Sombra paused for a bit, and then said, “true, true. But there’s really no need to be so smug about it”, Sombra said with a frown of annoyance. “He he, my bad”, Shining blushed, right before continuing his meal.
After all five of them finished their dinner, they all got up and stretched before going to their respective rooms for the night. Discord went to a random bedroom whilst traveling through a portal he created. Cozy Glow was looking around; trying to find out which ones her room for the night. Chrysalis was finishing her meal, and began to go look for her room as well. Meanwhile, Sombra and Flurry Heart were just about to walk back to Flurry’s room to go and grab their stuff so they can unpack it. But, right before they could, Flurry started to feel uneasy, and started to tug onto King Sombra’s cape. This caused him to stop, turned to Flurry, and then asked, “what’s the matter kid? Need something?” Sadly, before Flurry could answer, they both heard a noise coming from Flurry’s diaper. Before they knew it, Flurry has wetted herself. Flurry Heart then looked down at her now soiled diaper, and then started to tear up. “Aww, it’s okay. Come here.” Sombra then picked up Flurry Heart, and gave her a hug. Unfortunately, this made Flurry Heart start to cry from not only the fact that she just wet herself, but she also was feeling embarrassed because she peed her pants. Not to mention that King Sombra heard it too. “Hey hey, it’s okay. Cmon, let’s get you cleaned up”, Sombra said as he then started to carry her towards her room.
Once the two entered the room, Sombra then began to sit Flurry Heart down on her changing table, so he can go look for some of Flurry’s diapers to change her with. Just then, Chrysalis entered the room, and asked to see if everything was alright. “It was..” Sombra began, “...until a little princess couldn’t hold it in any longer.” Chrysalis looked confused, and asked, “so did she, I don’t know, have an accident?” Flurry Heart started to cry again, and nodded. Sombra sighed, and then asked, “hey, since you’re here, do you wanna help me change her?” Chrysalis blinked, and asked, “why?” Sombra rubbed the back of his head with a slight sweat and said while chuckling nervously, “well.. he he, you see... I.. don’t know how to change diapers.” Chrysalis raised her voice in surprise, and asked, “you what?” with a slight angry tone. Sombra chuckled nervously again while still sweating slightly, and then said, “yeah... sorry bout that, he he.” Sombra then asked again, “so you’ll help me?” Chrysalis sighed in annoyance, and then said, “fine. But it doesn’t mean that I’m helping you. I’m only trying to get this child out of that, ‘thing’, so that way it won’t smell in here.” Flurry Heart then started to cry again in embarrassment, and then said with tears in her eyes, “it’s not funny.” Sombra asked Flurry, “no one’s laughing at you are they?” Flurry shook her head, “uh uh”, and started to wipe her nose. Sombra nodded, “exactly”, before approaching Flurry Heart, and asked, “you ready?” Flurry Heart nodded, lifted her legs, and then said, “make it quick”, while still having tears in her eyes. Sombra sighed, and said, “alright then, here we go”, before snapping his shadow fingers before he got to work.
After what felt like hours, (despite it being only a few minutes), Sombra and Chrysalis successfully changed Flurry’s diaper; albeit with Flurry making it a bit difficult by moving too much because of her being ticklish. “So”, said Sombra with gasping breaths, “now that that’s over with... what do we do now?” Chrysalis breathed for a bit, and said, “let’s get ready for the night before we get too tired, or pass out, okay?” Sombra said, “alright”, and went to go unpack his stuff so he can get ready for the night.
After Sombra returned to the room; having gotten ready for the night, Flurry Heart was laying in her bed, and was starting to fall asleep. Sombra laid next to Flurry Heart in his guest bed, and asked, “you feeling okay now?” Flurry Heart nodded, and said, “thank you; for changing me. And for everything.” Sombra chuckled, and said, “no problem. Anything for a little stink bomb”, he smirked. Flurry growled a bit, and laughed; having been playful to her new friend. Soon enough, both began to fall asleep.
The royal parents went asleep already; long before everyone else. Discord and Chrysalis were in their rooms, brushing their teeth and getting ready for bed. As mentioned already, King Sombra and Flurry Heart were already asleep; after getting ready for the night of course. However, Cozy Glow was looking all frightened while wondering the halls, and then eventually saw Flurry’s room. She then softly opens the door and asked, “c-can I come in?” Sombra woke up slightly, and said, “come on in, it’s okay.” Cozy obliged, and went inside before closing the door behind her. “Y-you know..” Cozy began with slight nervousness, “I-I’ve been thinking... c-can I sleep with you guys?” Sombra and Flurry woke up a little, got up slightly, and both asked, “why?” Cozy got a little teary eyed, and explained, “I-I don’t wanna sleep on my own tonight. I-it’s too scary. A-and I don’t wanna be alone.” Cozy then started to cry. Sombra got up, placed one of his shadow hands on her back, and said, “hey hey, easy now. Hey, why don’t you share the bed with me tonight, okay? I can keep you safe. Flurry can too.” Sombra then pointed to Flurry Heart; who was nodding and pounding her forehooves against each other while trying to look tough. Cozy Glow giggled, and said, “okay then”, before smiling and wiping her tears away. Sombra then laid back down onto his bed; with Cozy Glow nuzzling up to him for comfort and warmth. Sombra smiled, and then asked, “need anything?” Cozy Glow shook her head, and said, “I’m good”, before nuzzling closer to Sombra, closing her eyes, and started falling asleep. Sombra turned to Flurry, and said, “goodnight princess”, before laying back down and starting to fall asleep as well. Flurry said, “night night”, and laid back down on her bed to fall back asleep.
And with that, all five of them; even the royal parents, were all fast asleep; waiting for the perfect day that’s about to happen tomorrow....
In the morning, everypony from the Crystal Empire gathered in front of the castle to celebrate the villains; who courageously not only fought the yetis, but also returned the Royal Toddler back to her family. And with that, a ceremony was made in honor of them.
Cadence began her speech: “My dearest subjects; today, we honor these four individuals. For not just their courageous acts of bravery, but also kindness when facing adversity in its wake.”
The villains were smiling and waving embarrassingly because they were now being treated as heroes now; which in this case is all too new for them. Flurry Heart just couldn’t control her excitement, and then decided to fly towards King Sombra, and hugged him. Sombra; in return, hugged her back, and smiled.
Cadence smiled at that act, and then turned back to her subjects to continue her speech. “And so, it is with great honor, that I present to you, your new heroes of the Crystal Empire. No longer will they be recognized as villains, but as heroes for not just this kingdom, but for all of Equestria. And with that, I propose to you, these medals of honor, so that way they can be remembered for their good deeds, for all time.”
And with that, the crowd applauded and cheered, and Cadence then bestowed each medal for the villains to wear. After that, they all bowed, and waved farewell.
Meanwhile, at the royal Banquet Hall: “Wow, what a day huh?” said King Sombra. “I cannot believe we did it.” Cozy Glow replied, “me neither. But hey, we did it. And to that, I say..” Cozy then raises her cup, and toasted, “..a toast. To my greatest friends!” And then the rest of the villains toasted; chanting, “to our greatest friends!” and drank from their cups.
While the festivities were still in motion, Sombra looked to see Queen Chrysalis leaning with her forehooves crossed against the window; with her head resting on them. Sombra excused himself, and asked, “you okay? The party is still going on you know. So why aren’t you celebrating?” Chrysalis looked towards Sombra, sighed, and then said, “I don’t know. Maybe I’m just not feeling it.” Sombra blinked, and asked, “you sure? Cuz I can go and..”. But before he could continue, he was interrupted by Chrysalis putting a hoof to his mouth, shushed him, and said, “no.. it’s not that. It’s just... ever since I lost my hive, I felt so empty. So I figured... if I came along with you guys, then I won’t feel so empty anymore.” Chrysalis gave a sigh before continuing, “but I guess that’s not gonna happen then.” She frowned and then turned back to rest her head on her crossed forehooves again. Sombra sighed, rests one of his shadow hands on her back, and says, “I know... it’s never easy. But hey... just look on the bright side. You’re now a hero, right?” Chrysalis nodded, and said, “uh huh.” Sombra then continued, “so there you go. And besides..” he then wrapped one of his arms around Chrysalis, and said, “you have us. We’ll never leave you alone, or forget you for that matter, okay? So stop being so gloomy, and let’s have some fun huh? What do you say?” Just then, some fun dance music started playing. Chrysalis smiled, drank her entire drink in one gulp, and said, “let’s have some fun!” before dragging Sombra by his arm, and started spinning him around as a means of dancing with him.
And with that, the Crystal Empire is safe, Flurry Heart is safe and sound, everyone is happy, and the night moves on without a hitch.
