Shining Armor and Cadence came back from vacation only for Shining to be turned into a foal. As Twilight and Cadence try to find the culprit, Shining suddenly dissapears! And Sunburst and Flurry Heart goes out to search for him
Its been a week since Sunburst was turned into a foal. He's enjoying himself playing with Flurry Heart, and when Shining armor and Cadence return from vacation. They fall in love with the colt and allow him to be a foal for a few more days. But trouble strikes as Shining is suddenly turned to a foal himself. As Twilight and Cadence search for the culprit Shining vanishes, and Sunburst and Flurry Heart set off on a new adventure to find him.
Sunburst woke to the sun streaming through the windows. He raised his tiny limbs in the air and blinked wildly getting used to the bars that now surrounded his crib. He soon was transfixed by a mobile with little suns swirling around his head. He stretched his hooves trying to grab the objects, not realising that they were too distant for him to reach. He heard a yawn and turned to see Flurry Heart on her side with her pacifier sliding from her mouth. Sunburst smiled, rolled over, crawled towards Flurry Heart, put the pacifier back in, and watched her suckle it. He then heard, “Oh, did somepony wake up?”
He was then lifted out of the crib by an aura of magic. He turned to see who it was and squealed seeing it was Starlight Glimmer. She stood there seeing Sunburst in his full foal glory, his chubby body and his small and wispy mane and tail. He had a big pudgy white diaper with a plastic sunburst on his front, with bright yellow tabs stuck on it. Starlight snuggled him and covered him in kisses as she crept a hoof under his padding and checked it, not surprised to find that the bottom was wet as she babbled, “Are you a soggy foal?”
Sunburst babbled incoherently as Starlight just took him to the changing table. Sunburst, now used to the routine, lifted his back legs to make the change easier. Starlight smirked, “Oh, such a gentlecolt,” Sunburst gave babble and blew some bubbles from his mouth making Starlight Glimmer daww, “Oh you're not a gentlecolt, you're my Sunny Bunny.” She put her mouth on his tummy and blew some raspberries into him making him giggle and squirm. She then got up and started the change by un-taping his diaper slowly. He revealed himself to her making him blush, “She's been doing this all week but it's still so embarrassing to be changed by her.” He thought, though Starlight didn’t seem to mind it too much (even his dirty diapers no longer seemed to phase her).
She made quick work wiping him down, lathering his rump and nether regions with foal cream, and finished off by sprinkling foal powder all over his rump. Sunburst watched with a big smile at Starlight who cooed, “Oh, is my Sunny bunny loving his diapee change?” Sunburst nodded in approval. Starlight smiled and whispered, “Good, because I’m still getting the hang of this,” She finished the diaper change by sliding a new fresh diaper under his rump and taping it slowly over his front. She lifted him in the air and asked, “So, what do you think?”
He kicked in his new diaper and babbled, “Ya di a good job!” But only foal babble sputtered out . Starlight just smiled and kissed him ,”I’m glad you love it.” She turned to a crying foal and spotted Flurry Heart waking up. Starlight chuckled, “Better get her changed too.”
She placed Sunburst down, who began crawling to his blocks and began to stack them up. As Flurry Heart was placed by him she crawled over and hugged him. As Sunburst hugged him back she asked, “Hey Sunnybuwst how ya doin?”
“I doin good, why ya cwying tough?” Sunburst asked.
She whimpered,”I tought ya dissapweawed when I woke up.”
Sunburst giggled and said, “I onwy dissapwed one time.”
Flurry Heart giggled, “Otay, I jus gwad ya otay.” She turned to his tower, helped him stack the blocks, and asked, “So, wha do ya wan ta do todaw?”
Sunburst shrugged, “I don know, I hope Twilie wets us go to ta pawk.”
Flurry Heart shook her head, “I don know, isn Daddy and Mommy comin back fwom vacwation?”
Sunburst nodded,”I tink so, bu I stiw wana go to ta pawk, I wove wowwing in ta sand.”
“Yeah, I wove pwaying in the sand and wowwing in it, bu it gets aw in my diapee.” Flurry babbled.
Sunburst poked his diaper, “Wememba when we put as much sand in owa diapees as possibwe?”
“Yeah! And Twilight chased us aw ova ta pawk,” Flurry giggled, “I wememba tat. Awso wememba when Gem Stone and I took off owa diapees and had Twilie chase us twying to put them back on?”
“Then I tewepowetd them on me!” Sunburst squealed, “Tat was so much fun!”
They both giggled as Flurry asked, “Awe ya weawwy going to tuwn to a aduwt today?”
Sunburst nodded, “Yeah, I gots too. I can’r be a foww foweva.”
Flurry cried and hugged him as she mumbled, “I gonna miss ya.”
Sunburst patted her back, snuggled her fur, and babbled, “Ya, bu I stiw gnna be hewe, jus as a adwt though. I’ww stiww be youw cwystawer, so we’ww have wots of time to spend togethew..”
She giggled and nodded as Twilight entered the nursery and cooed, “Oh, how are my two favorite foals doing?” They both shouted, “Twilie!” And crawled across the floor as she scooped them and hugged them.
Starlight gave a motherly smile and said, “Hey Twilight, just got them changed .
Twilight whispered, “That’s good, want to feed them too?”
Starlight nodded, “Sure, I would love to...you think I can do it?”
Twilight replied, ”Starlight if you can change diapers, you can feed them too. You don’t have to wait on me all the time.”
Starlight sighed, “I know.” She came over and Twilight gave Sunburst to her, as she placed him on her back she continued, “This is still strange to me, being his caretaker and all.”
Twilight replied, “Well, it’s only been a few days, and so far we’ve had zero incidents with our foals since their little escapade.”
Starlight nervously replied, “Do we still have to tell Shining and Cadence about that?”
Twilight nervously whispered, “Yes, I’m afraid we do.”
Starlight quickly apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring that up.”
Twilight laughed. “It’s fine, I’m still getting over the fact that not only did we lose Flurry Heart, but Sunburst got turned to a foal.”
Sunburst blew some more raspberries and babled gibberish at that, making Starlight whisper, “I still can’t believe it either, in fact seeing my best friend like this is just so enchanting.”
Twilight responded with a smile, “Yes it is, Sunburst is just a little cutie.” This made him giggle.
The group eventually made it to the dining room table where two high chairs were already set up . The two foals were settled in and had bowls of foal food brought to them. As Starlight and Twilight began to feed them Sunburst turned and asked, “So Fwurry, whats fwava ya got?”
She savored the foal food and babbled, “I gots powidge and stwabewies.”
Sunburst smacked his lips and said, “I gots ta same fwava.”
“That’s, coow I tink tat it's my favowite too.” Flurry Heart babbled.
As the two continued to eat Twilight turned to see Starlight making faces as she fed Sunburst and asked, “So, Starlight, ready for Sunburst to be an adult again?”
Starlight smiled as she removed her spoon from Sunburst’s mouth, “Kind of. He’s such a little trouble maker, but he’s still so adorable.”
Twilight giggled as Flurry rubbed her foal food all over her face. Twilight bopped her on the nose playfully, making her giggle Twilight did it again, making Flurry squeal in laughter as she hugged her and whispered, “Well, at least you won’t grow up anytime soon.”
Starlight giggled and commented, “It’s going to be so weird when she becomes an adult. I can’t imagine her being anything but a foal.”
Twilight cooed as she said to Flurry Heart, “Yes, I admit it, I’ll miss your cutie butt when you become a big mare. Yes I will, yes I will.” As she nuzzled Flurry, making her giggle.
Starlight then asked, “So, are Shining and Cadence coming back today?”
Twilight nodded and said, “I believe so, they sent a letter telling me that they should be arriving soon.”
Starlight sighed and asked, “So...that's when you're transforming Sunburst back to normal?”
Twilight gave a sly smile, “Well...I was thinking, we could actually have Sunburst stay a foal, just for a bit longer.”
Starlight looked at Twilight oddly and asked, “But why? I mean, I don’t mind, but wouldn’t Shining and Cadence freak out seeing Sunburst like this?”
Twilight finished feeding Flurry and began wiping her face as she explained, “Well, I’m going to tell them what happened anyways so I think they’ll believe me if Sunburst looks like this. And I think that Shining and Cadence would love to see Sunburst as a foal.”
Starlight whispered, “You're not scared about telling them what happened?”
Twilight turned and said firmly, “No. I have to tell them, Starlight, even if I get in trouble. As I’m sure Applejack would say, it’s the right thing to do,” She then picked up Sunburst and Flurry, placing them onto her back. That was when she heard the doors open down the hall! Twilight gasped, “That's them!” She then ran down the hallway with Starlight by her side, and found Cadence dropping their suitcases.
Cadence rushed towards her daughter, took her into her embrace, and smothered her in kisses as she cooed, “How’s my little angel doing?”
Flurry babbled incoherently as she kicked her tiny legs and hugged her mom’s face. Shining was the first to spot the orange coated foal and asked, “Um, Twilight, who’s the other foal?”
Twilight turned her head and with a nervous stutter said, “This is Sunburst.”
Cadence and Shining gasped and went wide eyed as Shining looked over the orange coated foal in astonishment, “How could something like this happen?” He asked.
Twilight explained, “Well, you see…. Sunburst’s parents wanted to enjoy some time with their son. And so they turned him into a foal. After that, well..” Cadence and Shining both eyed her as she gulped and whimpered, “We...we lost Flurry. I created a tracking potion and it was supposed to teleport me to where the powder that transformed him into a foal came from. But it fell on Sunburst and then Flurry Heart escaped to go look for him. I went out to look for the two and we eventually did find them. I put Sunburst’s parents to work at a daycare for punishment. I’m sorry for any trouble I’ve caused. If you don’t trust me with Flurry Heart anymore I understand.”
Twilight bowed her head in shame. Shining hugged her and whispered, “Twily, it’s okay. Of course we trust you with Flurry Heart. One little incident isn’t going to change that.”
Twilight smiled and hugged her brother back as Cadence turned to her daughter and cooed, “So you escaped the palace again, huh?”
Twilight looked over with surprise and asked, “Wait, she’s escaped before?”
Cadence laughed, “I’ve had Shining go search for her more times then I could count. Heck, even I’ve had to occasionally go look for her outside the palace grounds.”
Shining blushed and continued, “Yeah, she’s a little trouble maker. Trust me, Cadence and I have a lot of work to do keeping her out of trouble. You did a good job of keeping her safe despite that little mishap. I’m proud of you.”
Twilight sighed, “Well, thanks. But it was a lot harder than I expected. At least now I know Flurry Heart has a tendency to escape if left alone. Might have to look into some kind of spell to keep that from happening, or make it easier to track her down.”
Cadence nodded, then she turned to Starlight and smiled, “So, Starlight? Are you caring for little Sunburst?”
Starlight smiled and explained, “Yeah, and I love it! He plays with Flurry Heart so well and it’s a joy to be around him like this.”
Cadence cooed, “I’m sure he is,” Then she asked. “So, did you find a cure yet?”
Twilight laughed, “Yeah, we did. But we thought it would be fun to let him stay like this for awhile.”
Shining smirked, came over to Sunburst, and ruffled his mane making him gurgle. “You're just a little cutie, aren't you?” Sunburst squealed and clapped his hooves, as Shining picked him up in his magic and nuzzled him. He then asked, “So, how much longer do you want him to stay like this?”
Twilight responded, “I was thinking we’d turn him back to normal today.”
Cadence shook her head, “I think it’s fine if he stays a foal even longer. As long as he doesn't mind of course, I think he could use a break from his crystaller responsibilities.”
Sunburst squealed in laughter and bounced up and down, babbling happily. Shining, unsure about this, asked, “Um Cadence...shouldn’t we maybe talk about this first?”
Cadence took Sunburst, placed him right behind Flurry, and cooed, “What’s there to talk about? He'll be a foal for a few more days. But I think we can handle two foals, Flurry Heart could use another playmate.”
Shining gulped as Twilight smirked, “Well, I don’t mind staying here a bit longer.”
Starlight replied, “Yeah, I don’t mind either. It’s been a lot of fun caring for the two. As long as you don't mind me being here.”
Cadence blushed and smiled, “Of course, I don’t mind at all. Now come on, let’s go play with the foals.” She then trotted happily away with Starlight tagging along.
Shining just watched them go and mumbled, “If it’s all the same to you, I’m going to go unpack.”
Twilight hugged her brother and said to him, “It’s going to be fine. I’ll keep an eye on them, and make sure Sunburst becomes an adult again soon.”
Shining smiled slightly, “Okay, and thanks again for watching Flurry while we were gone, and helping Sunburst out. I'm glad your staying a bit longer, especially since I still owe you.”
Twilight blushed as she rubbed her hoof on the ground and said, “Funny you should mention that, as there is one thing you could do to repay me.”
Shining gave her a questionable look as he asked, “What is it?”
Twilight whispered, “We can talk about that later.”
Shining nodded and hugged his sister one more time, before picking up the luggage and carrying it away.
A few hours later…
Cadence was playing with the foals, chasing Sunburst and Flurry Heart around the nursery, and she couldn't help but snicker as Sunburst crawled around in his diaper, making it crinkle and sway back and forth, She eventually caught him and began smothering him in kisses. “You’re just the cutest colt ever.” He giggled and sputtered foal babble. Cadence’s heart melted and she wrapped her hooves around him. Starlight was right next to her, doing the same thing. Chasing Flurry Heart, catching her, and throwing he into the air while cooing,” “You’re just the cutest little filly ever! Yes you are! Yes you are!” They then settled down with the foals in their laps, as Cadence asked, “So, are you enjoying being a mom?”
Starlight blushed, “A little it’s definitely more interesting than I imagined it would be. But are you really okay with Sunburst as a foal?”
Cadence smiled and whispered, “Yes, I admit it’s strange, but I think that Sunburst is quite adorable and very obedient for a foal his age. Trust me, I speak from experience.” She kissed and nuzzled him, making him giggle and kick his little back legs, making his diaper crinkle.
Just then, Shining entered the room and asked, “So, is everything alright here?”
Cadence snuggled Sunburst and replied, “Everything is just wonderful!” She kissed Sunburst again and then looked up, “Do you wish to join us?”
Shining shook his head, “No, I just wanted to check up on you and make sure everything was okay.”
Cadence smiled and patted the ground. “Come on, Shining, your daughter hasn't seen you in over a week. Why not spend a little time with her now that you’re back?”
Flurry looked up and quickly crawled over, babbling and cooing. She hugged Shining’s legs, making him blush as he bent down and nuzzled her. He whispered, “I’m sorry, I’ve got a lot more business to take care of right now.”
Cadence rolled her eyes as she said, “You work too much, Shining.”
Shining smirked, “We still have a kingdom to run, and it ain’t going to run by itself.”
Cadence then got up, kissed him, and asked, “So, how about you take care of the foals, and I go take care of business?”
Shining shook his head, “Cadence, I’ll go finish up with the nobles, you just worry about the foals. It won’t take long.” He hugged Flurry Heart and gave her one more kiss, before turning to Sunburst who also crawled up to him. Shining bent down, kissed him and whispered, “Thanks for doing this for Flurry.” Then he got up and went down the hallway.
He then went on his assigned throne of the Crystal Empire, and began talking to the nobles about trade and taxes, his mind drifting back to Cadence from time to time. When he felt strange one of the nobles suddenly called, “Shining...Shining…” Shining turned and replied, “Yes?”
“Um..are you alright?” The concerned noble with a monocle asked.
Shining rubbed his eyes, “I’m fine, just got back from vacation. Still not fully in work mode yet.”
The noble nodded and laughed, “Yes, I've been there a couple of time myself.”
Shining asked, “So, what were we talking about earlier?”
The noble explained, “Just tax relations for my business. They can wait until later though. We can discuss them when you’re back in work mode all the way.”
Shining nodded, “So…” He began, before he felt his body shrink slowly, as if he were losing a few feet. The noble’s eyes went wide and he exclaimed, “Shining ...you...you shrank!”
Shining replied in a confused voice, “What?! No I didn’t!” He then got up and said to the noble, “I’m done for tonight, let’s do this tomorrow,” He got up and walked away. He felt his body shrink again, and this time he got worried as he ran down the hallway in fear, as he looked around shouting “Twily! Twily!”
Twilight came down the hall as Shining turned the corner. “Oh, thank goodness.” Shining said in a cracking, pubescent voice.
Twilight’s eyes went wide as she saw Shining! He looked like a teenager with a smaller, leaner body, and a longer mane. She asked. “Shining what’s going on?”
“I don’t know, but I think an age regression spell was placed on me!” Shining replied with fear in his voice.
Twilight, with a worried tone, said, “Come on, let’s get you to my room!” She rushed him along the hallway to the room she was staying in! As they entered, Shining shrank again, this time he was no older than a school colt! He then started to cry, “Wha...what’s going on?!”
Twilight got him onto the bed, looked him over, and quickly said. “Look, if this is a spell, I still need to run tests.”
Shining whimpered, “Find out what’s wrong with me, please!” Twilight quickly turned to a spell book, and began scanning the pages. But as she did, she heard a toddler babble “Twiie, huwwy! I shwinking!” Then it dawned on Twilight, the powder that transformed Sunburst could be the culprit! She opened a drawer under her desk. But the cure she had stowed there, it was gone!
Twilight turned and she saw a tiny, chubby, white coated foal with little wisps of blue for a mane and tail, wiggling about and wailing at the same time. Twilight came over and picked up the baby Shining, hushing him, “It’s alright.” She cooed, and he slowly stopped his crying as he stared up at his sister with his tiny blue eyes. Twilight could only gaze in astonishment at his foalish body, with his baby fat bloating him up, making his cheeks and tummy puff out. She looked down to see his hooves were giant and thick, and he started to try and grasp her mane that was flowing down her face.
Twilight giggled and nuzzled him a bit as she whispered, “Now, now, Shiny, Settle down.” And with her magic, she drifted a pacifier into his mouth. He suckled it gently and slowly began to quiet down. Twilight held him, gently rocking him in her forelegs, as he curled up around her under belly snuggling close for warmth. As he began to drift to sleep whimpering and kicking his tiny legs, all Twilight could do was look down at him with confusion and wondering what to do. She thought, "I don’t know how this happened but I promise I’ll get you back to normal.” She kissed him on the forehead, as she gently placed him on his back and left her bedroom, heading towards Flurry Heart’s nursery.
Twilight carried Shining on her back, who was trying to realize what had happened to him, “This...this a dream, I just went to bed and now I’m a foal.” As he kicked his tiny chubby legs, groaned and looked down at Twilight's giant purple mane. He could only whimper and suckle his paciifer until he looked down, “Well, even if I'm a foal. that doesn’t mean I have to act like a foal.” He thought. He spat out his pacifier and babbled, “Twilie, I not a foal. Just put me down so I can go back ta wowk.”
Twilight turned and asked, “Shiny, where did your paci go?”
Shining babled, “I not a foal, Twilie. I dun need a paci.” But all Twilight heard was garbles. She saw the paci on the floor, lifted it up with her magic, and cooed,”You don’t like it, huh? Well, we can put that away for now.”
She was nearing Flurry Heart’s nursery, and Shining started squirming and shouting, “Nuh, I dun wan Cady ta see me wike tis!” He jumped off her back and tried to crawl away as Twilight shouted, “Hey, get back here!”
Twilight chased her now younger brother down the hall and caught him into her embrace as he started to wail again. She hushed him and patted him on the back as he slowly quieted down. She then lightly cooed as she said to him, “Now Shiny, I know you don’t like being a foal. But you are a foal, and we have to care for you until I find the cure.” But Shining only got angry, crossed his hooves, and turned his head in a pout. Twilight booped him on the nose, making him giggle. Seeing that it delight him, she booped him on the nose again as he giggled louder. She then put him down onto the ground and blew a raspberry, he squealed and kicked his legs in the air. Twilight kissed him and cooed, “Now let’s go get you to cady.” Twilight then placed him on her back and skipped right into the nursery.
Shining was still nervous and hugged Twilight’s mane as he tried to hide in it. Cadence herself was finishing taping up Flurry Heart’s new diaper, and had just placed her on the ground as she turned to see Twilight, “Hey Twilight, good to see-” That was when she turned, saw the foal quivering underneath Twilight’s mane, and asked, “Who’s the foal?”
Twilight gulped and she lifted the white coated foal with her magic. He started to kick about as Cadence gave him a look over and whispered, “Don’t tell me that’s...that’s…” Twilight only gave a slight nod, as Cadence paused for a few seconds with her eyes wide open! Then she squealed and rushed Shining, pulling him into her embrace, swirling him around, and shouting, “Oh my Celestia! Shining, you’re so adorable!”
Cadence snuggled Shining and smothered him in kisses. All he could do was groan and endure it, “You should be glad I love you, Cady.” He thought.
Starlight’s eyes went wide as she commented, “Wait...hold on…” She took a deep breath and asked, “Shining Armor got turned into a foal?”
Twilight only gave another nervous nod, still completely astonished at Cadence’s reaction.
Cadence looked her now foalified husband over, looked down at his rump, and asked, “Where’s your diaper, Sweetie?”
At that Shining started to squirm and babble, “No, Cady, I not gettin in a diapee!” He jumped to the ground and tried to crawl away as fast possible. Cadence only cooed, “Oh no you don’t, you're getting padded, mister!” She chased him down the hall and caught him in her magical embrace. She then placed him on the changing table as Sunburst and Flurry Heart watching him, giggling to each other. Cadence got out a poofy white diaper, and zapped it with her horn. Shining Armor just watched as a little plastic shield that looked similar to his old cutie mark, of sorts, was taped on the top of the diaper, with even smaller shields serving as wetness indicators that decorated the diaper. The foalfied prince gulped and curled up his back hooves as he whined, “Cady, I dun need diapees tough.” But in a few seconds she had Shining all padded up, taping tabs over the plastic shield over his crotch. She kissed him on the forehead and brushed his wispy mane from his face as she cooed, “There, all protected from accidents, my little Shiny,” She gave him a big kiss on the cheek one more time and placed him right next to Sunburst and Flurry Heart as she then asked, “So, Twilight, did you turn him into a foal? I know you had plans to do so, you wrote to me asking for my compliance, and I told you no. I hope you didn’t decide to do it anyway.”
Twilight’s eyes lit up in shock as she shook her head, “No, I had nothing to do with this! I just found him regressing in age, and took him to my room, where he turned into a foal!”
Just then the foals all began to wail. Cadence took them all into a big hug and hushed them as she placed them in her under belly. She made some funny faces and soon the three were all giggling and reaching for her. She nuzzled each of them and kissed each of them on the forehead as she asked, “Starlight, can you take care of the foals for abit? Twilight and I will just be outside. There are some things we need to discuss.”
Starlight, still a bit shocked, nodded and replied, “Sure, no problem.” The two princesses left Starlight with the foals.
Flurry Heart and Sunburst now turned attention to the foalified Shining Armor, as there was little else to do. Flurry Heart already pounced on him shouting, “Daddy, ya a foal! Daddy ya a foal!” Sunburst laughed as the two rolled around for abit, jumping up and down too.
Shining got out of the foals grasps and was scooting away (not surprised he could understand them, since it seemed none of the grown-ups could understand a word he was saying) as he babbled, “Wook I don know whas goin on. Bu ya two betta not make me do foaw stuff.”
Sunburst replied, “Bu ya a foaw now, Shiny.”
“I not a foaw!” Shining whined. “Jus becawse I got tuwned into a foaw’s body doesn mean I an actuaw foaw! I stiw a bi cowt!”
Flurry giggled and asked, “Then why ya weawin a diapee? Bi cowts don weaw diapees.”
Shining grumbled as he tried to tug at the plastic shield with his teeth, “Cady dwessed me up, Fwuwwy! Bu I can stiw use ta big potty.”
Sunburst patted his own diaper and said to Shining, “I tought so too, but as a foaw ya goin ta use ya diapees awot.”
Flurry nodded, “Yeah! I use my diapee um...a miwwon times a day!”
Shining shook his head and said firmly, “Nu uh, I gonna pwove ta ya two I stiw Pwince Shiny, a bi cowt!” He turned to the door of the nursery, knowing that there was a bathroom not too far down the hall. He asked the foals, “Um, how do we get to ta potty though?”
Flurry gasped, “Wait, awe ya sayin Daddy is twyin to escapwe the nusewy?! Isn tat against ta wuwes?!”
Shining replied, “They onwy agains ta wues fow ya two, I...um allowd to escapwe, becawse I hewped make ta wules.” Sunburst and Flurry shrugged as Sunburst then replied, “Otay ten, if ya wna ta go use ta bi potty, ya goin to need owa hewp. Bu ya pwobabwy goin to get caught and ya might even get a spankie.”
Shining gulped and shook his head, he didn't want to imagine being spanked by Cadence or Twilight. He shuddered as he said firmly. “Tey betta not ow..um...I’w tew Cewestia, and tey wiw get in big twoubwe.” He blushed at how foalish that sounded.
Flurry asked. “Wait, ya mean Auntie Tia? Is she wike ya mommy?”
Shining shook his head and explained, “No, my mommy is ya gwandma, Twiwight Vewvet. Tia is ta pwincess of aw of Equestwia!”
Sunburst nodded and said firmly. “Oh otay, wew we stiw might get a spankie, ya betta wite a wetta to hew jus in casw.”
Shining (still grumbling about his diaper) waddled to the middle of the room. He took up a blue crayon and some paper and wrote on it as he babbled. “Deaw Cewestia, I Shiny, I is a foaw and ya gots ta hewp. Cady has gone cwazy and put me in diapees. I twyin ta pwove I can use ta potty, bu Cady might spank me fow bein naughty. P.S. Can ya fin a cuwe, pwease?” Shiny took the paper in his mouth and said to the foals. “Otay, I made ta wetta jus in casw. Now wets go!”
Flurry looked up and commented. “Wew, fiwst we gots to distwact Stawwight and get hew away fowm ta doow. Ten Sunbuwst, can have Cady and Twilie chase him, givin ya a stwaight path to ta potty.”
Shining sighed and agreed. “Otay, wets do it ten!”
Sunburst and Flurry both whispered to each other and turned their heads. Flurry then warned Shining, “Wew ya goin to owe us, becawse we goin to get spankies fow suwe if we hewp ya out.”
Shining sighed and asked. “Wha do ya two wan?”
Sunburst replied firmly and demanded. “When ya aduwt again, ya gots to wet us go see ta Cwstaw Heawt.”
Shining shook his head as he replied. “I can't do tat, not aftew what Fwurry Heawt did to it wast time!”
Sunburst then retorted. “Tat’s ouw pwice fow hewping ya, so deaw ow no deaw, Shiny? And ya betta huwwy, ya pwobaby gots ta go potty soon.”
Shining did sense his bladder was feeling a bit full. He figured he could hold it for now, but the urge to go came a lot faster and more unexpected than it had at any point when he was an adult. Reluctantly, he grumbled as he reluctantly agreed to the terms. “Fine. I’w twy, bu I not makin any pwomices.”
Flurry flew into the air, ”Otay, wets go hewp ya use ta big potty!” She then flew into Starlight who was lying down. She bopped her on the nose, making the mare smile “Hello Flurry Heart, it's nice to see you happy and active.” Starlight commented.
Flurry Heart giggled, and her horn glowed. She teleported across the room, making Starlight turn and smirk. “Oh you, get back here!”
As Starlight chased Flurry Heart around the room. Sunburst waddled to the door with Shining Armor. Shining Armor grumbled, hearing his diaper crinkle and make noises, it only made him blush and feel embarrassed. Shining mumbled “Ya know, I didn weawise how smawt Fwuwwy is.”
Sunburst chirped with a smile, “Yeah, she supa smawt! She comes up with aw ta pwans to expwoe. We caw tem Adventuas.”
Shining mumbled with his eyes widening as he asked, “Tat what she caws it when she dwiving me and Cady cwazy?”
Sunburst giggled and babbled. “Wew she does take awot afta ya if ya ask me.”
Sunburst peeked through a crack in the door and looked down the hall at Twilight talking to Cadence. Sunburst babbled to Shining. “I going to have tem chase me. Ya betta go to ta potty as fast as possible though, once I caught they suwe to go wook fow you!” He crawled across the room as fast as possible, and soon Twilight and Cadence were running after him.
With all the grown-ups currently occupied, Shining crawled down the hall to the bathroom with his diaper still making crinkling noises. He managed to open the door to the bathroom, but then he saw the toilet. it was huge! Far bigger than he remembered, and it looked like it could easily swallow him up if it wanted to! He whimpered a bit, scared at the size. One mistake could cause him to end up who knows where!
He waddled over to the toilet, somehow managing to climb up to the seat of the bowl, and he looked down at the water below. Shining tried to take off his diaper, the urge to go becoming stronger by the minute! His clumsy hooves made the task difficult, so he tried to tug at the diaper shield with his teeth! Suddenly, he slipped and fell into the water with a splash! Popping his head up as he struggled to stay afloat, he squealed in terror, cried, and shouted, “Cady! Hewp me! I can’t swim!”
Upon hearing Shining’s cries, Cadence came in and rushed to the toilet, picking him up with her magic and hugging the wet foal! She cooed as she dried him off with a towel., “Oh honey, did you try to use the big potty without permission?” Shining whimpered and subconsciously curled up over her shoulder, whimpering softly. Cadence carried the soggy Shining to the nursery with Flurry Heart and Sunburst looking up as she said to them. “Now, I know Shiny may have told you that he can use the big potty. But you two should've known better than to help him do it. You’re lucky I was there to fish him out. Now, I think after I dry up little Shiny here, it's straight to bed for all three of you.”
Both foals looked down in shame, Sunburst especially as he knew given his circumstances, he should’ve tried to be more responsible.
Twilight, meanwhile, was examining the letter on the ground that was barely legible. But she managed to more or less get what it was saying, and dawwed. “Did you make this letter, Shiny?” She asked him. She picked it up with her magic, as Cadence came over to the paper, read it, and couldn’t help but smirk. “Crazy, huh? Well we better let Celestia know what happened, and I'm sure she's just going to love knowing that I'm not going to spank you, even though what you did was dangerous. I know we talked about potty training Flurry Heart, but I don’t think she’s going to be ready for that anytime soon.” She said to Shining, as she nuzzled him, and blew raspberries in his tummy making him squirm and squeal again.
Cadence then gave the letter to Twilight who giggled. “I'll give it to Spike with my own letter. Princess Celestia should hopefully know what caused Shiny to regress. Even though he looks cute in his precious little diapers.”
Shining blushed, feeling really embarrassed. Even his own mother never babied him to this embarrassing extent (though his father sure seemed to delight in doing so). Cadence then set Shining on the changing table and started untaping his soaked diaper full of toilet water. She quickly put foal cream over his rump and powdered him until his rump was white. She taped him up in a diaper(this time thankfully without the plastic shield), and patted it a few times, making audible crinkles. She then placed him in a crib right next to Flurry Heart and Sunburst. Shining whined and cried kicking about shouting in foal babble, “Nuh, I dun wan ta weaw a diapee! I dun wana be a foaw! I can stiww use ta potty, I just need hewp!”
Cadence hushed Shining and placed a foal bottle in his mouth. At first he tried to spit it out, but he began to like the taste of the formula, and started to suck on it even more. Sunburst and Flurry Heart were all given bottles filled with formula and they suckled them happily. As the foals finished up their bottles, Cadence pulled them out. She then drifted he foals under their blankets, placing them up to their necks as she kissed each of them on the forehead. She came up to Shining and nuzzled him as she whispered, “Twilight and I got everything figured out, Shiny. We're going to get you back to normal soon. In the meantime, just enjoy being a foal again, you deserve some time off.”
Shining whimpered as he garbled, “Cady I ..gotta use ta potty. Can ya hewp me, pwease?” But only foal spit came out, as Cadence kissed him on the forehead and turned on the mobile above the trio of foals heads. Shining watched it and cried a bit as he felt his diaper filling up with pee. He began to cry, but Flurry Heart quickly came over and alongside Sunburst hugged him. Shining still babbled, “I made a wettie.”
Flurry Heart kissed Shining and cooed, “Ya a foaw, is otay.” Sunburst added, “Yeah, Shiny, ya a foaw. And we aww make wetties and poopies in owa diapees.”
Shining reluctantly asked, “Sunnybuwst, tew me, is bein a foaw fun?”
“Ya, of cowse, Shiny, I wove bein a fowl!” Sunburst babbled, he lifted his foal blanket. Shining looked down and smirked seeing Sunburst’s diaper was yellow as his. Sunburst then replied, “Ya see, I made wetties, and I not gonna cwy.”
Shining rolled his eyes and sighed as he fell on his pillow. Flurry came up to Shining and asked, “Daddy, you don wike bein a foaw, huh?”
Shining looked at his doe eyed daughter and reluctantly said to her. “It’s otay, Fwuwwy Heawt, I kind of wike bein a foaw. Just a widdwe.”
Flurry Heart waddled up to Shining and hugged him, and he hugged her back. Sunburst laid down, delighted to see that Shining was finally happy. As the foals drifted off to sleep, Shining just curled up under the sheets and whimpered. Being a foal was going to be quite the adjustment.
Cadence and Twilight were now standing outside Flurry’s nursery. As Twilight gave Spike Shining’s letter and telling him what to write to Celestia, Cadence cooed, “I know this must be torture for him, but I can’t help but adore my husband like this.”
Twilight blushed and confessed, “I have to admit I actually did have something similar planned, but I would’ve at least waited until he was done with court for the day before trying to do it,” She then turned to Spike, who had written down everything on Shining’s note, and had included Twilight’s instructions. “Okay, I'll send this out immediately.” He said to Twilight.
Twilight ruffled Spike’s spines “Thanks and please be sure to tell her that Shining is okay, and that Cadence and I have everything under control.”
Spike rolled his eyes “I got it…” He then ran off before twilight could get him to care for three foals (Spike did NOT want to be stuck with diaper duty)..
Meanwhile, Cadence, curious about Twilight’s statements, asked, “Really, you were going to turn Shining into a foal? What was your plan?”
“Well I wanted to ask Shining if he wanted to be a foal for a few days. But I wouldn’t have turned him into a foal without his permission.” Twilight explained.
Cadence whispered, “That’s so sweet, but how would you have done that?”
Twilight replied, “I told you earlier about how Sunburst was turned into a foal by the powder his parents made. I had a sample and copied it, and was going to use it on Shining. I had it in my room, but it was taken along with the cure. ‘Why?’ I don’t know!”
Cadence nodded and asked Twilight, “Do you think we should lock down the palace and get the entire staff to integrate everypony that was in the palace today?”
Twilight nodded and sighed, “We may have no other choice, but do we really want the entire empire to know that Shining Armor is a foal?”
Cadence pondered this for a few moments, “Why don’t we put out a gag order? Anypony we speak to has to be under strict orders not to talk about it.”
Twilight sighed, “Even if we do, it’s going to get out, maybe we should investigate on our own?”
Cadence shrugged and replied, “Well...maybe..we can...but..”
Twilight eyed Cadence, “But what?” She asked.
Cadence sighed, “Shining is okay, it’s not like he’s in danger. We can take our time and find the culprit, as well as learn why they did it. If it was a prank we can probably forgive it, and if it’s more serious then we can be sure to handle it.”
“Right, but still,.not a lot of ponies knew about the powder. And I don’t want to tip off whoever did it that we’re onto them.” Twilight explained.
Cadence nodded and said to Twilight, “Well, I guess for now we’ll just wait for Celestia’s reply and tell the guards about the power, but order them to keep quiet. For right now though, I do have a kingdom to run. Can you keep an eye on the foals?”
Twilight nodded, “Sure, i’ll make sure they're cared for.”
Cadence smiled at Twilight and whispered, “Alright, and, uh...try to get Shining to enjoy it. I think he should make the most out of being a baby again.” Cadence then went down the hall as Twilight went back to look after the foals.
Shining woke up the next morning to the feeling of being carried and he was soon placed on a table. He shivered and open his eyes to see that he was on Flurry Heart’s changing table. He grumbled, “Wew, it’s otay if Cady is changing my diapee.”as he has been changed by her and Starlight Glimmer countless times yesterday. But he then heard a mare whisper, “Oh is Shiny waking up?” He recognized the voice immediately as Twilight’s and looked up to see her about to untape his diaper! He put his hooves over the front, completely embarrassed as he squealed “Twily, dun! Can’t ya get somepony ewse?!”
Twilight smiled at Shining, “Oh, are you embarrassed that you sister is going to change you?” She brushed his hooves from his crotch and he could only grumble as she continued to untape his diaper. As she wiped him down, he could only whimper as the foal wipes touched his crotch. He quivered and whimpered, but couldn't do much else as Twilight continued on. She eventually wrapped his rump up in a new diaper. She taped the tabs over the small plastic shield on his front, then she kissed him on the forehead and cooed, “There, Shiny, all changed and dry.”
Shining peeked at his new diaper and groaned seeing that it was the same one from yesterday. Twilight giggled, “Consider it a early birthday gift from me. I had Cadence make more of those special diapers. I couldn’t help it, you look so cute in them,” Shining blushed and curled up not really knowing how to take that. Twilight just picked him up and hugged him as she cooed, “Now how about you go play with Flurry Heart and Sunburst, huh? And happy birthday Shiny.” She then had him set back down on the nursery floor where Flurry Heart and and Sunburst were all dressed up in pretty dresses, and having tea around a pink plastic table, with stuffed animals and tea pots and cups with imaginary tea.
Shining was shocked and asked, “Wait, how wong have ya two been up?”
Sunburst turned and commented, “Fow a few hours.”
Shining, feeling a little left out, whined, “Bu why did ya not wake me up?”
Flurry babbled, “Sowwie Daddy, we thought ya was weawwy tiwed. We thought we wet ya jus sweep a bit wonga.”
Shining looked down at his new diaper in embarrassment. “Why am I getting jealous?”He thought to himself, as he crawled up to them and asked, “So, ya pwayin tea pawty?”
Sunburst nodded and said, “Yeah, we pwetend Fwuwwy is aw gwon up and she havin a pawty wike ta gwown-ups.”
Flurry babbled, “Yeah,” She turned to a stuffed rabbit and said to it “Sowie, Mw. Wabbit, so I was sayin tat ya gots ta make mowe diapees fow ta foaws, ow no cookies. If tey not padded, tey make messies on ta fwoow.”
Sunburst shivered and babbled, “Ya, we dun wan anotha diapee showtage.”
Flurry made a cute gruff voice for the stuffed rabbit as it spoke, “Otay Pwincess Fwuwwy Heawt, I’ww make ta diapees and send tem ova.”
Shining burst out laughing seeing how Flurry was trying to mimic her parents making deals with actual nobles. Shining crawled over and sat right next to Flurry and asked, “So, Fwuuwy, how about I teach ya how ta deaw with ta stuffy nobwes?”
Flurry giggled, “Otay, bu ya not weawin a dwessie tough.”
Sunburst blushed in his pink princess dress as Shining turned to Flurry Heart and asked, “Wew...um...can’t I just be in a diapee?”
Flurry shook her head and said, “At ta meetins ponies got to weaw cowthes, and I dun tink we got any suits.”
Sunburst was now smirking at Shining as a pink dress went over him. He squealed as the pink ruffles went around him and the dress barely came up to his belly, exposing his diaper plainly. He tried to push the pink dress down to hide his diaper, as a giant pink bow was tied in the back. Twilight with her magic picked up Shining who began squirming around trying to take it off. Twilight giggled, “You look so adorable in your little dress, Shining,” and she helped him back on his chair. He just sat there pouting and crossing his forehooves. Twilight patted him on the head and cooed, “Now, now, Shiny, just play along with Flurry Heart. She’s been waiting for this all day.”
Shining looked up at Flurry who was smiling at him. He sighed as he thought, “Well I'll just do this for Flurry just this once, but if anypony asks I’ll deny this ever happened.” And he asked softly, “Can I have a cup of tea, pwease?”
Flurry giggled and chirped. “Ya, Daddy, hewe.” She hoofed him a cup of invisible tea.
They all started drinking as Sunburst asked. “So Fwuwwy, di ya gets my wetta?”
Flurry took out a paper with scribbles and replied. “Yeah, I did. Tank ya, Sunnybuwst, it was beautiful!”
Shining looked around, grabbed a block, and said loudly. “Hewe Fwuwwy Heawt, I gots ya a bwock.” Sunburst and Flurry laughed, as Shining pouted and asked “Wha?”
Furry replied. “Ya gots ta make me somethin, wike a hoof painting ow a dwawin,” She take the block anyways with her magic as she added. “It’s otay, wew get ya to be a foaw soon.”
Sunburst smirked, and Shining got a bit jealous, as he crawled off his plastic chair and waddled across the room. He found a paper and a crayon and began coloring. Twilight just watched with a motherly smile, as Shining doodled away. She couldn't help but think. “He’s so adorable, and creative. It makes me a bit jealous that I'm not a foal playing with him.” Shining crawled back and gave his drawing to Flurry, who took it and hugged the drawing making Twilight daww.
The tea party soon continued as Flurry leaned over to Shining and asked, “So Daddy, I gots a question,” Shining leaned in as she explained. “Puwpwe Dwagon wants mowe diapees, becawse he wan out and is askin Mw. Fwuwwfes if he gots mowe.”
Shining looked at the stuffed animals and asked. “Who-” He was then interrupted by Sunburst who explained. “Mw. Fwuffwes is ta gwyphon.”
Shining glared at Sunburst smirking and Flurry replied. “Yeah, and Mw. Fwuffwes wikes his diapees and doesn want ta give tem up.”
Shining nodded, “I see, so Mw. Fwuffwes is bein gweedy.”
Flurry nodded as she sipped her plastic tea cup, “So, wha do we do?”
Shining pondered and asked, “Can ya ask Puwpe Dwagon if he wants my diapees?’
Sunburst babbled, “Tats cheatin, ya can't give ya diapees away!”
Shining shouted back in protest. “Yeah huh, Twilie made me diapees with shiewds fow me!”
Sunburst replied. “Ten I’w give my sunny diapees away!”
Shining shook his head. “Too wate, ta deaw is mine! I cawed it fiwst!”
Sunburst turned to Flurry and pleaded. “Fwurry, can ya pwease wet me give my diapees to Puwpe Dwagon? Tey can howd mowe and awe mowe comfowtabe.”
Shining babbled. “Nah uh! Mine got shields ta gives me extwa pwotection!”
Flurry looked down at her blue diaper and suggested, “Wew, how about we do a test?”
The colts turned to Flurry Heart who explained. “Ya two wiw have to put stuff in ya diapees fow a whiwe, and ta one tat can howd ta most gets to give theiw diapees to my dwagon.”
The colts glared at each other as Shining babbled. “Fine, I accept!”
“Me too, Fwuwwy!” Sunburst said seriously.
Flurry nodded. “Otay. Wew ten Puwpwe Dwagon, does tat sound good ta ya?"
"Sure, I don mind. Tis is goin to be fun,” Flurry replied in her fake gruff voice. Shining and Sunburst sat down across from each other. Then Flurry said to them. “Wew, I gots to get somthin to put In ya diapees.” She crawled across the room as Sunburst asked Shining. “Why ya bein so bossy?”
“Why ya twyin to make me wook bad in fwont of Fwuwwy?” Shining protested.
Sunburst cried, “Am not! I jus twyin ta teach ya how to pway tea pawty!”
But Shining babbled. “Na uh, ya twin to be Fwuwwy's best fwiend! I hew best fwiend cause I hew daddy!”
Sunburst babbled in protest. “Weww, I hew Cwystawa, and I was a foaw befow you got tuwned into one! You didn’t even twy to be a foaw at fwist!”
Shining then replied “Well, wew see who is ta bestest fwiend when we put somthin in owa diapees!”’
Sunburst babbled. “I aweady put sand, mud, and foal food in my diapee.”
Shining babbled. “Oh yeah?! Wew my mommy towd me I use to put aw kinds of stuff in my diapee, pwus my diapee couwd suwvive being in the toiwet wheweas I’ww bet youw’s wouwd faww apawt!”
Just then, Flurry Heart came back, she had foal bottles in her grasp. Each bottle was full to the brim with formula. Flurry babbled. “I gots tem fwom ta chanin tabwe. Now dump aw ta fowmuwa in ya diapees. Ta one that can soak up ta most wins!”
Shining took his bottle and clumsily unscrewed the nipple, as did Sunburst. They both levitated their bottles, and Flurry Heart opened the waistband of their diapers with her magic as she said, “Weady, go!”
Twilight was giggling thinking how grateful Flurry was to get foal bottles for Shining and Sunburst, before she heard a sound that sounded like glugging. She turned and gapsed in horror when she saw that Shining and Sunburst were dumping all their formula into their diapers!
Surprisingly enough, the diapers held, but they started to sag. Not to mention a lot of formula was now all over their dresses and the table and floor. Twilight scampered over to stop it, but Shining and Sunburst were had already jumped off the table, crawling off as fast as possible. Twilight shouted, “You two get back here!” She ran at them and then giggled, somewhat enjoying the chase. She eventually caught them with her magic and picked them up, their diapers soaked with formula and leaking as well. “You two are in big trouble!” She growled. Shining, now scared, started to cry first, before Sunburst followed suit. Twilight just sighed and called, “Hey, Starlight!”
Starlight came over as she asked. “Hey, Twilight, need help?”
Twilight nodded and said to Starlight. “Can you start cleaning up the mess the foals made and put the toys away? I’m going to have to give them a bath.”
Starlight nodded and turned to Sunburst whose fur was covered in formula. She smirked. “Looks like those two were having fun with their formula.”
Twilight replied somewhat grumpily. “Starlight, please, can you just start cleaning? “
“Okay, okay. No reason to be grumpy.” Starlight retorted, as she left to go clean up the mess. Meanwhile Twilight pulled Shining and Sunburst’s dresses off, untaped the colts diapers, and took them along with Flurry Heart to the bathroom to get cleaned up.
The three foals were now all in a bathtub together, getting scrubbed by Twilight, as they all giggled and splashed about in the water. Shining couldn't help but feel excited, seeing the small bath now looked like a decent sized pool. He even tried swimming a bit (the water in the tub wasn’t as deep as the water in the toilet bowl had been, plus there was no chance he could be sucked down the drain by mistake) but the water was shallow so he just splashed about, giggling happily all the way.
Sunburst babbled, “Awww, Shiny wikes ta bathy.”
This made Flurry blush as Shining got up and proclaimed. “Wew say whateva ya wike, Sunnybuwst! I won! My diapees awe betta than youws!”
Sunburst shouted. “Na uh my diapees hewd ta fowmuwa wonga ten youws, and tey didn’t have a shiwed to pwotect tem!”
Shining stuck his tongue out. “Nope, I won faiw and squawe. Bu if you wanna pwove it, go stick youw diapee in the toiwet and see wong it wasts!”
Sunburst ignored Shining and turned to Flurry as he asked. “Well, wha ya tink, Fwurry? Whose diapee hewd ta fowmuwa ta wongest?”
Flurry slid under the water and giggled. “Weww….I tink both ya diapees did a good job howding ta fowmuwa.”
Shining rolled his eyes and babbled, “Awight Fwuwwy, aw Sunnybuwst’s diapees awe betta than my diapees?”
Flurry giggled, “Not weawwy, I couldn tew. I tink ta Puwpwe Dwagon is goin to wike ta diapees fwom both of ya.”
Shining and Sunburst grumbled, then Flurry looked around the tub and said. “Aww, I fowgot my fwoggy.”
Sunburst looked around and picked up a rubber duck. He gave it to Flurry as he said to her. “Hewe, ya can have my duckie.”
Shining immediately grabbed a tug boat and said to Flurry. “Hewe, ya can have my boat.”
Sunburst growled. “She wikes duckies betta.”
Shining retorted, “Nah uh, I know she wikes ta tug boat betta! I bath hew mowe tan you do!”
Flurry got frustrated and shouted. “Can ya two stop fightin?!” They both turned as Flurry shouted while splashing the water, “Ya two awe both my fwiends, I wike both toys. But I dun wike ya two fightin aw ta time. We aww foaws, we aww have to get awong.”
They both looked at each other and Shining grumbled. “Otay, I won fight with ya anymowe, Sunnybuwst.”
Sunburst looked up and babbled. “Otay, I pwomice ta stop fightin too.” He and Shining shook hooves, before Flurry splashed them with a wave of water. They both giggled and started splashing back. Soon they were having a splash war, giggling and wallowing through the bath water as Twilight stood back with a smile and let them play.
Just then, Cadence popped in, watching Twilight trying to keep her calm as she was getting splashed by the foals. But upon seeing the little chubby (and naked) Shining Armor blowing bubbles under the water and splashing about, her heart nearly stopped. She instantly came in and scooped him into her hooves as she cooed. “Hello Shiny, enjoying your bath time?” He shivered and began squealing as Cadence laughed. “Oh, Shiny is super sensitive,“ She placed him back in the water where he looked down in shame as Cadence nuzzled him. “You’re just a little cutie. Yes you are. Yes you are,” She cooed. Shining couldn't help but gurgle and blushed. Meanwhile, Cadence came up to Twilight and asked, “So, Twilight, how was everything?”
Twilight sighed, “Shining and Sunburst spilled their formula straight into their diapers.” Cadence burst into laughter and she had to catch her breath as she asked. “Did you get pictures?”
Twilight shook her head. “No, I was too busy trying to stop them from leaking everywhere.”
Cadence smirking turned her head towards Shining, “You’re just the little troublemaker, aren't you?” Shining lowered himself deeper into the bath water, as Cadence winked at him, then turned her attention to Flurry Heart and Sunburst and asked, “How are you two doing?” She kissed them and let them babble about their day as she cooed, “Oh, I wish I could understand foal,” she gave each a kiss and a nuzzle before she looked at Twilight and said. “Twilight, I actually came by to ask if you could get the foals to the kitchen when you’re done here? Right now I’m getting the palace ready for Shining’s birthday party, and I would like them to get something to eat before it starts. That way they won’t fill up on cake and ice cream.”
Twilight nodded and turned with a smile “Of course I can do that, Cadence. I’m sure meal time won’t be too much trouble.”
“Thank you, Twilight. You're the best!” Cadence replied as she hugged Twilight. She then added, “Don't forget to have Spike send the invitations.”
Flurry gasped! “Daddy, ya biwthday is today?!”
Shining nodded. “Yeah tat’s why ya mommy and I wen on vacation, to have our own cewebwation befow ta big pawty. But I don know how I’m going to have a pawty as a foaw.”
Sunburst grew an evil grin as he said to Shining. “Ya don tink she’w twow ya a foaws biwthdya pawty?”
Shining’s jaw dropped, as he realized his birthday bash full of beer and old buddies from the royal guard (including the likes of Flash Sentry, Bucket Bridle, Cannon Feather, and Bright Wing), was likely becoming a party full of balloons, cake and foals with their mothers and fathers. He screamed in horror, “Cady betta not be doing tat!”
Flurry squealed in delight. “Tat would be so coow, I didn even hawe a biwthday pawty yet! Bu I went ta Gemstone’s biwthday pawty and thewe we pwayed thwo ta cake! The wook on hew mommy’s face was pwicewess!”
Sunburst giggled, “I wemeba tat. I was an adwlt too. Ya and the otha foaws stawted thwoing ya cake aw ova ta pwace. You made quite the messy.”
Shining just gulped, realizing that his parents were no doubt coming for the celebration. He whimpered and shook all over at the thought of them seeing him like this. And he worried over this, as Twilight drained the tub, took the foal into her magic, and carried them over to the counter next to the sink. She powdered their rumps and put them all into new diapers. She then took them up onto her back as she continued, “Now, you three better stop causing trouble. I’d rather not have you three get sore bottoms at Shining’s birthday party.” Shining groaned and buried himself in Twilight’s mane, he really hoped he wouldn’t get a spanking from his sister (or Celestia forbid his own parents, his mother was usually gentle enough but his father seemed to make sure it stung, especially when he felt his son had really done something wrong).
As the foals were being taken out of the bathroom, Flurry Heart eyed the toilet and asked Shining. “So, Daddy, why didn’t ta big potty make that scawy noise when you feww into it?”
“Tat’s because I didn’t pwess the handwe, that siwvery tingy,” Shining explained, pointing to the handle. “Tat’s what makes the toiwet fwush the watew and evewyting in it down the dwain. It goes thwough the pipes and into the sewews.”
“And when we adults again and ya owder, Fwuwwy Heawt, we gonna twain you to use it instead of youw diapees.” Sunburst added.
“Nah, me wike diapees,” Flurry Heart replied. “The toiwet is scawy, what if it twies to eat me?!”
“It wun eat you if you dun pwess down the handwe,” Shining explained. “And we not gonna twain ya to use it untiw we and Candy tink yow weady.”
“Wucky you didn’t get fwushed, Shining!” Sunburst giggled. “My mommy says I awmost did it to mysewf when Stawight and I wewe younger! If my daddy hadn’t shown up when he did, I might have gown down the dwain!”
Of course, to Twilight, the entire conversation just sounded like gurgles and gibberish.
Twilight carried the foal to the kitchen, where butlers and maids were decorating it with streamers and colorful balloons. Twilight laughed, “I should've brought Pinkie Pie with me. She would've had this entire palace decorated by now.”
Shining groaned as he thought. “If Pinkie Pie were here, all of Equestria would know I got turned into a foal.”
Twilight sat Sunburst and Flurry Heart in their respective high chairs, while a butler brought in a new high chair and sat it next to Flurry Heart’s. Shining was slid right into it, and three bib were soon tied around the foals little necks. Twilight then stirred up some foal food and began feeding them one by one, starting with Sunburst and continuing to Flurry Heart. Then, she took out a spoonful of green glop and came up to Shining. He grimaced and refused to open his mouth. Twilight giggled and said. “Oh, Shiny, come now. You need to eat. Now open wide.”
Shining shook his head in protest, he was certain the foal food would taste awful. But Twilight then pleaded. “Come on, Shiny, be a good example for Flurry Heart.” She knew this would create a response, as Shining opened his mouth and she shoved the food in. He chewed on it and swallowed. He shook his head feeling the nasty vegetable flavor go down his throat, as Twilight continued down the line, feeding each foal respectively.
As she continued to feed them. Sunburst asked, “So Shiny, is ya biwthday weawwy today?”
Shining nodded. “Yeah, it is.”
Flurry giggled and started bouncing in her high chair shouting, “I can't wait! Is goin to be so much fun!”
She and Sunburst laughed, as Sunburst opened his mouth to let another mush of foal food enter it. He swallowed it and asked Flurry. “So, ya tink Gemstone, Pwumice, and Tuquowise awe gonna come too?
Flurry nodded. “Yeah, of couwse, Mommy is goin to pwobaby invite aw ta foaws at ta Cwystaw Pwaypwace!”
Shining groaned and sank in his high chair. As Twilight spoon fed him another bite he complained. “Bu why?! Can’t Cady jus twy ta find ta pony who tuwned me into a foaw?!”
Sunburst just babbled. “Wew Fwuwwy and I weawnd somthin whiwe we wost in ta Cwstaw Empiwe. And tat’s foaws awe smataw tan ta adwts sometimes. Maybe one of owa fwiends knows who tuwned ya into a foaw, and then we can find that pony owaseves.”
Shining pondered this, still trying to endure another spoonful of foal food. “Otay ten. But if Cady can find ta pony who di tis, I wiw make them change me back.”
Flurry nodded as she chewed on her foal food. “So wha we goin ta do befowe ten?”
Shining shrugged. “I gwess I have to get used to this yucky foaw food.” He took another bite of it and still grimaced at the flavor. Flurry nodded. “Ya wunch is ta wost, it always yucky vegitabwes. Bu we get babas wata and ten nappies.”
Shining whined. “We gots to hawe a nappy?”
Sunburst explained. “Yeah, as foaws we get tiwed easiwy. So we need owa naps.” As he chowed down another gloop of foal food.
As Twilight finished up feeding the foals and was wiping their muzzles, Spike entered the kitchen and looked upon Shining Armor. He couldn't believe his eyes, seeing the pudgy, diapered, white coated foal that was once Twilight’s older brother. He commented. “I still can't believe it. Shining is actually a foal!”
Twilight nodded and said to Spike. “Yeah, crazy huh? Cadence and I investigated all night, and still we can't seem to pinpoint who did this.”
Spike sighed. “Well, there's more bad news, at least for Shining. Celestia can make a cure, but it will take a week to make.”
Twilight nodded and mumbled solemnly, “I expected that. It took me almost a whole week to make the regression powder. To be honest, I didn't even know it would work.”
Spike replied cheerfully. “Hey, it's not that bad. He is cute after all.” He turned to Shining who was now staring at Spike. He started to babble something, making Spike dawww.
Twilight gave a giggle. “He’s been so talkative this morning. I kind of hope that Sunburst and Shining can give us some insight on how a foal sees the world.”
Spike replied. “Well, I'd rather not find out. Also I sent all those invitations to the caretaker at the Crystal Playplace. Are you sure it's a good idea to throw a party, even if it's for Shining’s birthday?”
Twilight shook her head. “I don't know, Spike. In fact, I'm starting to think Cadence may be taking Shining less seriously than I would imagine.”
Spike asked Twilight. “Did you talk about cutting the party off?”
Twilight turned and said to Spike. “Actually, this party may attract the pony who did this. I imagine they must of turned Shining into a foal for a reason. The party may make them see an opportunity to foalnap him, and we can lay in wait to capture the culprit.”
Spike nodded and with a gleam in his eyes he proclaimed. “Yes, I think it's about time that Spike The Brave And Glorious saved the Crystal Empire again, and captured the culprit who turned their prince into a helpless baby!” Shining started to babble angrily at Spike who turned and said to him. “Not to worry, Shining! I'll find the villain who did this to you.” And he rushed off as Twilight shouted, “Wait, Spike! I was just…” But he was already out the door, as Twilight just rolled her eyes and mumbled. “He better not do anything crazy.”
Twilight Velvet and Night Light were coming up the long, grand steps of the Crystal Palace. Some butler crystal ponies carrying suitcases packed full of stuff, were struggling to climb up the stairs along with them.
Twilight Velvet gasped as she suddenly realized and asked her husband, “Oh honey, did you get the present for Shining?!”
Night Light smirked and replied smartly, “Of course, he’s going to love it!”
Twilight Velvet laughed and said, “I hope it’s not too embarrassing for him.”
Night Light shook his head as he stated, “Of course not. I think it’ll be nostalgic for him. He used to carry that thing around the house like it was his pet. Just like how Twilight would do the same with Smarty Pants.”
Twilight Velvet hugged her husband close as she whispered, “Such wonderful memories, it’s a shame the kids grew up so fast.”
Night Light nuzzled his wife and said to her, “Well, they couldn't stay in diapers forever.”
Twilight Velvet rolled her eyes, “And why I would want them to? Remember Shining’s dirty diapers? He was such a stinky foal!”
Night Light giggled, “Yes he was, I always used to joke about what you were feeding him, and I was so glad when we finally got him potty trained. I still can’t believe how old he’s gotten.”
Twilight Velvet commented, “Yes, married to a princess and now we have a granddaughter. Great, now I’m starting to feel old.”
But Night Light shook his head, “Nope, you look as young as you did when I first met you. I don’t think you’ve aged a day, honey.”
“Oh stop teasing me, I know I’m not gonna stay young forever!” Twilight Velvet cried, lightly pushing her husband aside, causing the the couple to laugh. As they neared the giant front doors, Twilight Velvet asked, “Don't you think they could’ve met us at the train station?”
“They’re probably still setting up for the party,” Night Light explained. “Either that or they’re busy with Flurry Heart, probably diaper duty.”
The doors were pushed opened up, and what the two saw made their mouths drop! Streamers and balloons of childish colors hung all over the throne room, in the middle of the room was a playpen, with a whole bunch of foals waddling around. Surrounding it were a series comfy couches, where moms were laughing and talking to each other. Overhead was an arrangements of letters saying “Happy Birthday, Shining!”
Twilight Velvet spotted Cadence and nervously asked her, “Um...Cadence?”
Cadence quickly got up from her spot on one of the couches, hugged her in-laws, and exclaimed, “Hey, I’m so happy you could make it!”
Twilight Velvet laughed nervously and whispered, “Yes, but...um,” She looked around and asked, “Did I miss something? Because this looks like a party for foals.”
Cadence blushed and said nervously, “Well, about that...you see, Shining...he’s over here.” And she pointed to some foals playing, one was an orange coated colt, one was Flurry Heart, and another was a white coated foal. He wore a pointy party hat and had his forehooves crossed while grumbling under his breath.
But Twilight Velvet recognized the foal immediately. She gasped in surprise and whispered, “No way! Shining is a foal?!”
Night Light asked with a confused look, “But.. how did this happen?”
Cadence smiled at the two confused ponies and continued in a soothing tone, “It’s a long story. Twilight and I have been doing everything we can to fix it, and find the pony who turned him into a foal.”
Twilight Velvet asked, “So, does everypony know about that?”
Cadence giggled and whispered, “Well, everypony in the palace is under a strict order not to speak about it, and every mother here also promised to keep it secret. We’ve made arrangements to ensure they’ll keep their promises.”
Twilight Velvet eyed Cadence and questioned, “So, you thought throwing a birthday party would be appropriate?”
Cadence cooed, “Well, I thought it would be nice to throw a birthday party for Shining. I mean it is his birthday.”
Meanwhile, Night Light had already gone up to Shining and scooped him into his embrace. Shining began to squirm about, trying to break free. But Night Light hugged him close and even patted his diaper as he cooed, “Hey Shiny, it’s your daddy.”
Shining put his hooves over his eyes and his parents dawwed at this. Twilight Velvet cooed, “Oh Shiny would do this all the time when he was in trouble,” She took him into her embrace and cooed, “You trying to hide from us, crinklebutt?”
Shining began whimpering and babbling incoherently, but two words did manage to escape his mouth, “Mommy, Daddy.”
Twilight Velvet held him close and and cooed, “Yes, Shiny, Mommy is here for your birthday, and so is Daddy,” She kissed him and nuzzled him, and he started to calm down. He hugged her and began to whimper, “Mommy,” again. Twilight Velvet started to tear up as she whispered, “This...this is so surreal. This brings back so many fond memories of when you were just a baby.”
Night Light came and joined in the hug, and then Twilight Velvet said to Cadence, “Oh, almost forgot, we got a present for him.”
Cadence replied. “We’re opening presents later,” She turned to a pile of presents on a table. Twilight Velvet laughed as she asked Cadence, “How long is he going to be a foal?”
Cadence shrugged as she commented, ”For a week at most, Celestia is already working on a cure. We’ll probably hold a proper birthday party for Shining when he’s back to his normal age. Nothing special, just something for his friends and family.”
Twilight Velvet smiled and looked across to her husband before she said to Cadence, “Well, I guess we’ll go settle in. Is it okay if I help take care of him? With Flurry Heart and all the foals here, you’ve probably already got your hooves full.”
“Of course, he’s your son after all,” Cadence nodded. “I’ll have your things put away and have a room ready for you.” She explained, as the butler ponies from earlier set off, while Cadence took Velvet and Night Light’s package and placed it with the rest of the presents.
Twilight Velvet sat among the other mothers, and Starlight Glimmer as well who was fussing over the orange coated foal from earlier. Velvet asked, “Starlight, is that you?” She’d heard about Twilight taking on a student.
Starlight looked up and whispered, “You’re..you’re Twilight’s mom, right?”
Twilight Velvet nodded, “Yes, so nice to see you,” She looked down at the foal and smiled as she asked, “So, is he yours?”
Starlight gasped and shook her head, “Oh no, this is...um..this is Sunburst, he’s supposed to be Flurry Heart’s crystaller.”
Twilight Velvet's eyes went wide as she whispered, “Well, that is something. Two regressed stallions, huh?”
Another mare with a white coat and blue eyes replied, “Can you believe it?! I hope maybe my husband gets turned into a foal next! Then we’ll have all the time in the world to spend together!”
The other mares laughed as Twilight Velvet smirked. She then placed Shining down and let him crawl off to his friends. Flurry babbled as she looked at Velvet, “Is tat Gwanma?”
Shining nodded and said, “Yeah, tats ya Gwanma Vewvet, Fwuwwy.” Sunburst (having crawled off Starlight’s lap), saw Shining shaking and asked, “Awe ya newvous?”
Shining nodded, as he turned to the other foals all playing. Flurry then dragged him off to a group of foals and shouted, “Fwiends, I wan ta intwoduce ya to my daddy!”
Three foals crawled up to Shining. The first, a blue coated foal with a small silver lock for a mane and tail with silver eyes babbled,” I Tuquowise.”
A white coated foal with a brown mane and tail that was scruffy and wild with a blue pair of eyes greeted, “I Pwumice.”
“I Gemstowne.” Babbled a green coated filly with long locks of yellow for a mane and tail, with bright yellow eyes.
Shining blushed, scrunched his diaper, and whimpered as he thought “They’re just like any other citizens of the Crystal Empire.” He took a deep breath, looked the foals in the eyes, and introduced himself, “Hewwo, I Pwince Shiny of ta Cwystaw Empiwe.” He stood on his hind legs and bowed, showing off his diaper bulging around him, then he lost his balance and fell on his padded rump.
The foals all giggled as Shining blushed a deep red and went back to scrunching his diaper, trying to hide it. Pumice was the first to come up to him and asked, “So ya ta pwince of aw of ta Cwystaw Empiwe?”
Shining nodded and explained, “Yep, I ta pwince!”
Gemstone crawled up to him and babled, “Ten can ya make ta wuwes?”
Sunburst nodded and explained, “Yep, ta pwince can make ta wuwes.”
Gemstone asked, “So can ya make it tat foaws can go ta sweep wheneva we wan?”
“Yeah, no mowe bedtimes! We can stay up and pway aw day and night!” Pumice babbled.
Turquoise added, “And can ya make it so tat we can buy any toys we wan?”
Shining sighed, “Guys, ya mommys and daddys contowo aw tat. I can’t make tose kind of wuwes.”
The foals all moaned, then Gemstone asked, “So how ya wike ya diapees? Awe tey comfy?”
Shiny bounced in it a little and said, “Yeah, it’s otay. I gettin use ta tem.”
They all smiled as Sunburst bounced on his padding, “Wew diapees, I tink, awe ta best abou bein a foaw, tey jus so comfy!”
The foals all burst out laughing. Gemstone then turned to Flurry Heart and shouted, “Fwuuwy is so coow now ta ya cwystawa and daddy awe foaws!”
Flurry nodded and she crawled over to Gemstone and shouted back, “Yeah! It’s been so much fun, I hope tey stay as foaws fow a wong time!”
Shining mumbled, “Wew, we wiw see. I pwobabwy wiw onwy be wike tis fow a week.”
Turquoise turned to Shining and asked, “So, Shiny, how di ya tuwn to a foaw?”
Shining shrugged, “I dun know. Yestadaw, I got back fwom vacatiown, ten ta next thing I knew I was gwonin smawa, and I tuwned into a foaw.”
Pumice gasped, “Ya mean somepony tuwned ya tinto a foaw wike Sunnybuwst?!”
Shining nodded as the foals all babbled together and Gemstone replied, ”How abou we go find ta pony who tuwned ya into a foaw?”
“Yeah we can hewp ya and it wiw be fun!” Pumice shouted.
Shining smiled and said to the foals, “Tank ya, ta wiw be gweat.” But he was suddenly lifted up onto Cadence’s back as she cooed, “Come on, Shiny, it’s time for cake.”
Shining start to whine and kick about while crying, “Nah, I dun wan cake!”
Cadence just carried him off, the other moms taking their foals and sitting them around the dining room table, where tiny party hats were now being placed on the overly excited foals. Shining was placed into his highchair gently and Cadence patted his diaper a few times, making sure it was dry, and cooed. “You ready for some cake?” Shining only whimpered, as she placed the tray over him, took a piece of cake and placed it on his tray with a single candle in it as she instructed. “Now, let's all sing ‘Happy Birthday’ together!”
The moms (as well as Shining’s parents) all sang ‘Happy Birthday’, even Twilight and Starlight (who were in the back of the room) were singing along. Shining sighed and thought. “Well, I guess this could have been worse. I think my mom said I once messed myself during my first birthday party, thank Celestia I didn’t do it this time.”
After the singing had stopped, Cadence cooed. “Okay Shiny, blow out your candles.”
Shining took in a deep breath and spat all over his candle. He blushed into a deep red as all the mares dawwed. Twilight Velvet was flashing a camera, and all Shining could think was. “She better not show anypony those photos! Doesn’t she have enough of those embarrassing baby pictures at home?!“
The cake was cut up, and the moms began spoon feeding it to their foals. Shining looked up at Cadence who began taking pieces of cake with a spoon and cooed, “Open up, Shiny.” He just did as she asked and ate bite after bite of cake. He chowed down, actually enjoying it, when he suddenly heard, “Thwow ta cake!”
All of a sudden Sunburst began throwing cake at Shining! The cake landed on his face, making every mare gasp! Shining wiped the cake from his eyes, took his own cake, and threw it at Sunburst, the piece smacking into his face! Flurry soon picked up her part of the cake and threw it into Twilight’s face!
Soon, all the foals were throwing their cake, and smashing it on their trays! Giggling happily, while the mothers (or fathers in some cases) were quickly gathering their foals, and getting them cleaned up. Cadence took Shining who just watched the scene unfold, and stared at Sunburst who spat his tongue at him. Shining wiggled out of Cadence’s grasp, and took a piece of cake on the table, as Sunburst got one too and waddled towards him. They came up to each other stared into each other’s eyes. Shining said furiously. “So, ya stawted ta cake fight huh?! Twyin ta wuin my biwthday pawty, Sunnybuwst?!”
Sunburst grumbled, “I taught ya didn wan a foawish biwthday pawty.”
Shining replied. “So wha?! Now ya make a mess, and ya goin to get a spankie!”
“Wew, I betta make ta most of it ten!” Sunburst replied, he and Shining waddled towards each other and threw cake right into each others faces. They then stopped, plopped on their rumps, and wiped the cake from their faces, giggling at how funny they looked with cake and frosting covering their muzzles. Shining pointed to Sunburst and babbled. “Ya wook wike a snowmawe.”
“Ya wook wike a cwonw.” Sunburst replied, they both started to laugh, as Twilight took them into her magic and shouted “That's it, I warned you two about causing trouble! Both of you are getting spankings!”
But Twilight Velvet just came over and cooed. “Calm down, Twilight, they were just having fun. You and Shining used to do stuff like that all the time when you were my little foals,” She took the colts and placed them on her back as she added. “I'll get these two cleaned up. Now I’ll have an excuse to spend time with my little Shiny!”
Twilight rolled her eyes and gave a exasperated sigh, “Alright, Mom, guess I'll help Dad clean up this mess.”
Starlight came up to Twilight and asked. “Is it okay if I go with your mom to help clean them up too? Sunburst is supposed to be my responsibility after all.”
“Sure.” Twilight mumbled as Starlight set off with Twilight Velvet.
Starlight and Twilight Velvet were now busy changing the colt’s diapers (which were full of cake frosting inside and out). Starlight couldn't help but tickle Sunburst’s tummy from time to time. As Twilight Velvet was taping up Shining’s new padding, she asked. “So Starlight, you enjoying being a mom?”
Starlight giggled and blushed, “I don’t mind it, it’s been quite the experience if you ask me.”
Twilight Velvet looked over at the giggling and gurgling colt that was her son and said, “It’s so unreal, I haven’t changed a diaper in over twenty years. But somehow, it’s like it was just yesterday.”
Starlight replied, “Well...before a week ago, I’d never changed a diaper at all. I’ll bet you got lucky, my first diaper change was a stinky one from Sunburst!”
Twilight Velvet laughed, as hugged her son and patted his now clean rump. “Now let's get these two back to the party.” She cooed.
Starlight took up Sunburst and asked, “Can I ask you a question, Mrs. Sparkle?”
Twilight Velvet turned and said happily, “Sure, ask away.”
Starlight blushed and hesitated before asking, “Um...I...I wanted to ask, did you enjoy having foals?”
Twilight Velvet looked down at her son and sighed, “I won’t lie, foals are hard work. But I really do miss have Twilight and Shining in the house,” She then turned to Starlight looking at the ground and asked, “Are you thinking of having foals of your own?”
Starlight looked up and quickly replied, “Oh no, definitely not at the moment! I’m much too young! I was just wondering about how you're dealing with...you know..” She pointed her head to Shining.
Twilight Velvet laughed, “I have to admit, at first I was shocked and a bit angry at how Cadence is handling things. But I know it’s not permanent, and she promised to give him a proper birthday party once this is over. Besides, I think Shiny is slowly growing on me. I might just take him home, get him in his old crib, and wake up every few hours to either change or feed him.”
Starlight laughed, “Trust me, these two together have made me and Twilight run ragged for the past day or so. You wouldn’t believe how much trouble they’ve caused.”
Twilight Velvet whispered, “That's what I don’t miss about being a mom. That and the terrible twos phase, let’s just potty training wasn’t the only headache during that time,” Starlight laughed, as Shining began getting fussy. Twilight Velvet immediately patted him on the back until he burped, and she cooed. “Did little Shiny get gassy?”
Starlight asked in amazement! “How could you tell?”
Velvet replied with a smile. “Oh, Shining’s body language is second nature to me. You’ve probably figured out a thing or two with Sunburst.”
Starlight nodded and replied. “Yeah, I can tell when he's hungry or needs a change. Overall he's a calm foal, but he's quite the mess maker. And I think he's competing for attention with Shiny.”
Twilight Velvet then asked. “So, how is Twilight handling all of this? I know she can be stubborn at times and tries to make things more complicated than they need be. I think I was a bit less patient with getting her out of diapers than I was with Shining.”
Starlight simply replied by saying. “Oh, Twilight's been very helpful. She does a great job with Flurry Heart and Shining, despite him being a trouble maker too. She’s getting a handle on being a foalsitter. In fact I'm learning from her how to care for Sunburst.”
Starlight and Twilight Velvet were now in the main hallway, where a clown was making the foals laugh by making balloon animals and giving them to the foals. He was a crystal pony with a white make up covering his face wearing a goofy multicolored suit, a bright red bow, a big red nose, and a giant rainbow colored wig was on top of his head. But he two giant gleaming green eyes and wide goofy smile. While he continued to entertain the foals. Starlight and Twilight Velvet soon put Shining and Sunburst back in the playpen, and went off and sat next to the tired Twilight. She looked up and asked. “Hey Mom, are Shining and Sunburst all cleaned up?”
Twilight Velvet nodded and hugged her daughter as she said. “Everything’s fine, sweetheart, Shining and Sunburst are just two rambunctious foals.”
Twilight replied with a sigh. “I didn't think being a foalsitter would be this difficult. I mean they got cake literally everywhere!”
Starlight laughed! “Yeah, I can't believe how crazy Sunburst has been acting. I mean even as a school colt, he was really timid.”
Twilight nodded as she commented. “I would never imagine Shining making a mess like that either. It’s like, as foals he and Sunburst are totally different ponies.”
Twilight Velvet cooed. “Oh, you should've seen yourself as a foal. You would make Flurry Heart look like a timid Sunburst.”
Twilight blushed and whispered “I was that bad as a foal?”
Velvet hugged her daughter and nodded as she replied. “Despite how much you and Shining drove me and your dad crazy, we love you, and that's all that matters.”
Twilight hugged her mom back and asked. “But really, do you like having Shining as a foal again?”
Twilight Velvet cooed. “Of course I do, changing his diaper brought back so many memories. Hopefully later, I'll be able to feed him a bottle and put him to bed. I know your father would want to as. Speaking of your father, where did he go?”
Twilight shrugged and replied, “I think he left to hang out with Shining’s old friends that came by later. I think he said he was done with foals, and wanted to hang with some stallions. I suppose Shining’s behavior brought back some memories he’d rather forget.”
As the grownups continued to talk, Flurry crawled over to the colts and asked in a worried tone. “Di ya two get spankies?”
They both shook their heads no as Shining explained. “My mommy wiked us gettin a wittwe messy. Bu Sunnybuwst statwed it!”
Sunburst crossed his forelegs and gave a pout. “Wew, ya gettin aw ta attention!”
Shining babbled. “So, is my biwthday. I can hawe as much attention as I want.”
Sunburst whined. “Wew I taught ya didn even want a foawish biwthday pawty?”
Shining replied. “I didn at fiwst, bu...I kind of wike it. And if ya gonna keep doing stuff wike tat, I gonna find a way to fwush you down the toiwet! This time, youw daddy’s not gonna be hewe to save you fwom going down the dwain!”
Sunburst whimpered a bit. “You wowdn’t dawe!”
“Twy me!” Shining retorted.
Flurry started to cry and whimper. “Can ya two stop fightin, pwease? I dun wike it.”
The colts sighed and hugged Flurry together. Then Shining got up and said. “Otay, Sunnybuwst, wets go see tis cwown.”
They waddled together, along with Flurry, as the clown shouted and smiled. “Oh, and here’s the birthday colt!” The foals all squealed and clapped their hooves, as Shining blushed and scrunched his diaper. The clown dawwed. “Oh, is the birthday colt embarrassed?” He then made something with his balloons, it was a blue pacifier. He popped it into Shining’s mouth and said to him. “There, that should make him feel better.”
All the foals burst into laughter, and despite it being quite embarrassing Shining thought,“This isn't so bad, I might actually enjoy being a foal, just for a little while.”
Shining bounced up and down excitedly as the clown cooed “Oh, does shiny like his new paci?” Shining nodded in approval. The clown then started making another object with his balloons, soon he had crafted a makeshift pink bib, and twisted some white balloons into a diaper, which he dressed Shining up. All the foals giggled, as Shining got up and waddled around in his balloon diaper, the rubber making crunching noises along with the crinkling of his actually diaper. The clown laughed and instructed, “All bow to the balloon prince!” making every foal giggle and laugh even more. While the parents watching just dawwed at the scene. Then Shining looked up at the clown, who was now making something else with his balloons. The clown made a crown, and placed it on Shining’s head, making him squeal in excitement, and the rest of the foals coo in amazement. The clown whispered, “A crown for the little prince,” Everypony cheered, as Shining babbled a “Thank you”. The clown couldn't understand, but he ruffled the foal’s mane and said to him. “Don't you worry, it was nothing, Prince Shining.”
Gemstone, Pumice and Turquoise came up to Shining and admired him dressed up in the balloons as Gemstone commented with a giant smile, “Hey, Shining, ya wook coow in those!”
“Yeah, can I hawe the bawwoon diapee?” Pumice asked with a wide eyed expression.
Shining took it off and hoofed it over to Pumice, who quickly started to put it on.
“So daddy, di ya wike ta cwoon?” Flurry Heart asked.
Shining squealed and babbled excitedly, “I woved him! He’s so funny, and vewy tawented! I wan him ta come fow ya biwthday pawty, Fwuwwy!”
Flurry also squealed and hugged her dad, “Tank ya, daddy!”
Sunburst just looked over at the clown and asked with a thoughtful expression, “Bu, wha do we know about him? He wooks supicous.”
Shining replied with confusion. “Wha do ya mean? He wooks fine ta me.”
“Weww, he just comes out of nowhewe and he cawies tat bag fuw of stuff.” Sunburst whispered.
Shining laughed at this and said, “No way, he can’t be ta one who tuwned me to a foaw.”
Gemstone giggled and started to bounce on her diaper and shouted “Ya, tats siwwy! Cwoons awent eviw, tey funny!”
Sunburst retorted, “Come on Shiny, tink. A cwoon is a pewfect disguise! He cowd of easiwy made ta guawds waugh, so he coud sneak inside ta pawace.”
Flurry gasped and put her hooves in her mouth as she garbled, “Ya wight, Sunnybuwst! And because tey were waughing, they woudn’t be abwe to stop him fwom escaping!”
Sunburst continued with a determined look, “And di ya see how he makes bawwoomns so fast?! He couwd wven hawe pwobaby used tem to hewp steaw ta fowmuwas in Twile’s woom!”
Pumice looked at his balloon diaper and whispered, “Maybe, but I dun tink tat bawoons can steaw stuff.”
Flurry turned to Pumice and shouted at him, “Ya dun know tat! If he can make diapees and cwons, teb he definetwy can make somthin ta steaw Twilie’s stuff!”
Shining sighed, rolling his eyes as he asked Sunburst, “Otay, so how do we pwove ta cwown is ta one who tuwned me into a foaw?”
Sunburst put an orange pacifier (which Starlight had given him earluer) in his mouth, sat on his diaper, and crossed his forelegs and pondered the issue until he replied while pulling out the pacifier. “We gots ta captuwe him, whoevew he is!”
But before Sunburst and the others could think of a plan. Cadence exclaimed with a smile, “Alright. I think we’ve waited long enough! It's time for shiny to open his presents!”
Shining blushed as the rest of the foals giggled and squealed in excitement. Cadence took him onto her back, and carried him to the coach, where he sat in his wife’s lap, looking at all the foals who were staring right back at him with excited gleaming eyes. His mom came over with the first present and all Shining could think about was “Well, I guess opening presents can’t be as bad as the cake.”
The foals were watching Shining open his first present. He tore through the blue wrapping paper with his teeth and hooves. It was quite a struggle, but he eventually threw the paper out of the way and soon looked upon a normal looking brown box. He paused for a second, scared that his parents got him something super embarrassing. But then he pondered. “Wait, they didn't know I was a foal until they got here. Whatever it is it can't be that bad, at least it’s not gonna be like my second birthday party when they got me that stupid clown potty. I hated that thing, it was more scary than the toilet was to me at the time. What’s even worse is that they got rid of it and got a normal potty for Twilight.” He then opened the box slowly, revealing a familiar turtle plushie, and he gasped! He hugged it close as he shouted “Bwutus Fowce!”. Of course to everypony not a foal, all they heard was a cute squeal followed by foal babble.
Twilight Velvet came over, kissed him on the forehead, and whispered, “You like your gift, Shiny?” Shining nodded and hugged his mom’s nuzzle, as she gave his diaper a few pats (which Shining didn’t mind, he was too distracted with his plushie). She then got up and went to get some other presents.
Shining waited patiently, kicking about and trying to get comfortable. Then his mom came back with a lumpy package decorated with pink wrapping paper. She dropped the present in his lap and Cadence read the tag before dawwing, “Oh this is from Sun Stone.” A yellow crystal coated mare came from the crowd and with a light smile whispered. “I thought it would be cute for Shiny and Flurry.” Shining gave a polite smile, then he continued to tear through the pink wrapping paper, gulping as he thought “Please don't be something embarrassing, please!”, only to reveal a white sleeper with bunny ears and a fluffy tail. He groaned as the mares dawwed. Sunburst started to laugh out loud when Twilight Velvet came over and hugged Shining making him shout “Mom! I not gonna weaw tis! Is stupid!”
Velvet just kissed him and cooed. “We'll dress you up later after we finish opening presents, Shining. And when you’re back to normal, we’ll give it to Flurry Heart as an early birthday present.” Shining turned to see Sum Stone looking down as he sighed and faked a smile as he hugged it, causing the mare to perk up abit. Twilight Velvet gently took the sleeper and went off to get the next present.”
Shining waited, sweat starting to drip from his forehead as he looked upon the mares with hopes that they hadn't brought anything worse. His mom returned shortly with another present and placed it into Shining’s shaking hooves. He started to tear through the wrapping paper more slowly this time, and he groaned upon peeking inside the box. What was inside was more embarrassing than the bunny sleeper. It was a baby blue bib with “Mommy’s Little Prince” written on it, a blue foal bonnet with white frills, and a pack of “Little Prince” brand diapers (the kind that always had those stupid wetness indicators and printed wastebands). Turquoise’s mom asked. “So do you like them?”
Shining just gave a small smile and reluctantly nodded, making every mare clap. Cadence replied to Turqouise’s mom. “How thoughtful of you, I'm sure Shiny will love his new brand of diapers. I’ll even let Flurry Heart try them on. Celestia knows she could use more diapers, I’m starting to think she’s going to be known as the Princess of Diapers.” Everyone laughed, but Shining only thought "Hopefully Cadence won't change me in front of everypony, being made to sit on your new potty on your second birthday is embarrassing enough, even if my parents waited until everypony went home to do it.” To Shining’s relief his mom went onto the next present and presented him with another box, this one wrapped in purple wrapping paper. He tore through it and opened the box to reveal a foal blanket with shields all over it. Smiling and seeing how cool it looked, Shining snuggled it, delighting in how warm it felt. Twilight came over and asked. “Hey Shiny, you like it?” Shining nodded with eagerness and babbled happily. “Tanks Twily I wove it! I’ww sweep wike a baby with tis!”
Twilight didn’t understand what Shining had said, but hugged him anyways and kissed him on the forehead. “Happy birthday Shiny.” She cooed.
The gifts kept on coming, as Shining was given all sorts of foalish stuff, foam blocks, a mobile, a ton of foal clothes, and tons of different types of diapers with different patterns. The whole time Shining stood there and endured one humiliating present after another. He just hoped he’d one day to be able to live the humiliation down (in his mind he wondered if perhaps this was his punishment for sticking Cadence with diaper duty all the time?). After he finished opening his last present (in which he showed off a poofy sailor suit) and made every mare coo all he could think was, “Please, Cadence don't make me have to wear this!”
But Cadence immediately asked. “Now that all the presents have been opened, how about we dress our little prince?” The mares all came up instantly, huddling over Shining and getting him dressed up in foal clothes. They had him try on the sailor suit first, the sailor suit only came down to his belly, blatantly showing off his diaper. He just crossed his forelegs and let the mares daww at him, while Twilight Velvet took a lot of pictures, before Cadence picked him up and began taking the sailor suit off. She started to put on the bonnet and bib leaving him pretty much just in his diaper. The mares cooed even more and whispered about how adorable he looked, which just made Shining pout. After his mom was satisfied with the photos she got, Cadence took off his bib and bonnet, buttoned him up in the bunny sleeper, and put the hood over his head so the ears could flop over. She then placed him on the ground and whispered. “Go on show off your cute little sleeper.” Shining mumbled under his breath, but crawled anyways and let the mares watch and talk about how adorable he looked. He them heard the flashes of the camera from behind him, and could only hope the pictures would never see the light of day. Cadence then took him back into her lap and as she undressed him Twilight Velvet commented. “Well that was quite the adorable fashion show, I’ve got plenty of new pictures for my photo album.”
Cadence giggled as she whispered lovingly. “Well don’t put your camera away just yet Velvet, there is one more outfit I would like Prince Shining to try.” She drifted over a small package covered in red wrapping paper. Shining especially weary after wearing the bunny sleeper, reluctantly ripped apart the wrapping paper and opened the box, surprised to see a suit that looked oddly similar to the one he wore on his wedding. But this one was made for foals, with the gold shoulder pads removed and there now being a button crotch at the bottom for obvious. Cadence nuzzled him as she cooed. “I had it made last night by Rarity, on one condition. I had to make sure I send some pictures with you in it to her. Don’t worry honey, she won’t share them with anypony. She just needs them for reference for her new foal fashion line.”
Shining blushed and sighed. “So much for keeping this confined to the empire. At this rate it’ll be a miracle if all of Equestria doesn’t know about this by week’s end.” He thought, and let Cadence dress him up in the foal suit that looked similar on him as it did on his wedding, except for the button strap around his crotch leaving only his diaper peeking through the leg holes. The mares all applauded him as Cadence set him down and asked, “How about you go show off your new suit, honey?”
Shining reluctantly obeyed and waddled around, showing off his suit to the other moms and their foals. Surprisingly, he soon started to enjoy the attention and jumped up and down, making his diaper crinkle quite audibly!
Then Cadence came down to his level and asked “Shiny likes his new foal clothes, huh?”
He nodded and hugged Cadence’s leg as she held him close and kissed him on the forehead. She then took him back into her lap, and he cuddled her belly as she gave his rump some gentle pats.
She then put him down into the playpen as she said to him. “Now go play with the other foals while I get all this wrapping paper cleared away.” He looked up at his wife and gave her a smile before crawling over to play with the other foals. Once he met up with his friends Flurry babbled, “Wow Daddy, tat foaw suit wooks nice.”
Shining blushed and whispered, “Tanks Fwuwwy, I wowe somthin wike tis when I mawied ya mommy.”
Gemstone gasped, “Weawwy?! Ya weaw foaw cowthes on ya weddin day?!”
Shining blushed and explained, “No, I wowe a suit fow stawwions.”
Pumice giggled and babbled, “Tat wowd be funny if ya was in diapees at ya weading.”
Flurry babbled, “I tink it wowd be awsome! Daddy, can ya hawe a weadin in diapees? I wanna have my weadin in diapees!”
Sunburst gave an evil grin as he joked, “Yeah Shiny, wan ta do a weadin in diapees? We can use Fwuwwy Heawt ow one of hew fwiends fow Cadence!”
Shining groaned and babbled, “No, I dun wan ta do a weadin in diapees. I’d wathew die!”
Sunburst changed the subject, deciding that the more he teased Shining, the more he risked retaliation from the foalified prince (Sunburst doubted Shining had the strength or means by which to flush him down the toilet, but Sunburst preferred not to take his chances). ”Otay, wew I tink we gots to go get tat cwown befowe he weaves.” He suggested to Shining.
Shining rolled his eyes, doubting that Sunburst was right about the clown. “Fine, bu we showud twy ta at weast jus wook in his bag and see if he even has ta potiowns fwist.”
Flurry babbled, “Wew, I wants to go pway with him anyways. And I wan a bawoon diapee!”
Shining sighed, “Awight, bu wait. Wet me twy tis fwist!” He went over to a piece of paper and drew on it making a letter as he babbled, “Hewo I Pwince Shiny. Sunnybuwst tinks ya tuwned me into a foaw, bu I dun and he gonna tawkwe ya. I tink ya funny and I wowd wan ya to come to Fwuwwy’s biwthday pawty, so pwease dun mind my fwiend, he’s cwazy. Fwom, ya pwince, Shiny.” He took the letter and placed it in his mouth and went over to Sunburst who commented, “Otay, so we gots ta get out of tis pwaypen without the gwon ups catchin us, or we suwey gonna get spankies.”
Flurry laughed and said to the two, “I’ww handwe ta distwactiown, ya aw get goin and I’ww meet ya watwa.” She got up and flew off as Shining sighed, “I dun know abou you, Sunnybwust, bu I tink wew bein a bad infwuence on hew.”
Sunburst muttered, “She jus wants ta hewp ya, and foaws wiww be foaws.” He then waddled off.
Twilight, Cadance, and Twilight Velvet were looking over the photos of Shining in his foal clothes, all giggling at how cute Shining looked. They knew they could never show these to anypony (except of course Rarity and Night Light), but that didn’t mean they couldn’t enjoy them.
Flurry then jumped up onto her mother’s lap, and she giggled and hugged her little alicorn as she asked, “Do you think daddy looks cute in his new foal clothes?”
Flurry nodded and bounced excitedly, making the mares laugh. Twilight Velvet picked her up and cooed, “Oh you’re just a little cutie, I wish you could stay this cute forever.” Flurry babbled happily, and tried to grasp her grandma’s nose.
Twilight Velvet placed Flurry into her lap and let her nuzzle her belly. Twilight smiled as she commented, “You know, when she’s not making a mess or causing a disaster she really is cute.”
Cadence scoffed, “Oh thanks, Twilight. Of course you would say that since you practically never have to take care of her. Let’s not forget I had to help your parents take care of you sometimes, Celestia knows the number of headaches you caused me were practically unending.”
Twilight gasped, realizing her mistake! ”I’m sorry Cadence, I didn’t mean it like that! What I meant to say was…”
But Cadence burst out laughing and exclaimed, “Oh, it’s fine, Twilight! You were actually a fairly well behaved foal and filly, though I admit you were quite the stinky one.”
Twilight gave an exasperated sigh as Twilight Velvet looked around and asked, “Wait, where’s Shining?”
Cadence looked up and saw that Shining, Sunburst and some other foals were missing and sighed, “They probably waddled off while we were looking over the photos. We should probably go find them before they cause trouble.”
Then Flurry jumped off and started flying off as Twilight exclaimed, “Flurry was just trying to distract us! She’s in on the jail break!” She got up as Cadence replied, “I’ll go find Shining, he couldn’t have gotten far.”
Twilight Velvet laughed as she commented, “Oh, I think I know where our little troublemakers are going, and what they’re up to..”
The foals were crawling down the castle halls, and they came upon the clown laughing with some guards as he was telling jokes, “If you thought that Sombra was bad, you should've seen this bratty colt I had to throw a birthday party for.”
One of the guards commented, “Yeah, he does sound like a jerk. But do you really remember Sombra? We can’t remember a thing about him that we want to remember.”
The clown coughed and explained, “It was a joke. I don’t really remember anything about Sombra, I just heard about it from another town..”
The guards both blinked and said at the same time, “Ohhh.” Though the exact details of the Crystal Empire’s past were not known, parts of it had slipped through the cracks.
The clown sighed as he thought to himself, “I'm still really rusty. I’ve got to be more careful”
Shining was looking down the hall at the clown as he asked, “So what's ta pwan?”
Sunburst replied “Awight now we gots ta-”. But before he could explain the foals were crawling off and were coming up towards the clown, making one of the guards giggle “Looks like you’ve got followers.”
The clown turned and smirked, “Wow, they thought my act was that good huh? Well fine, I suppose I can play with them a little more,” The clown pulled out a few balloons and made Gemstone a bouquet of balloon flowers. She started to bounce up and down giggling and laughing as the clown ruffled her mane. Then the other foals began shouting and whining as the clown cooed, “Do you all want some balloons little ones?” But they all just continued coming up to him. He started to back up, freaking out a bit as one of the guards laughed, “Looks like the foals are after you.”
The clown began sweating as he started tying up some more balloon flowers and balloon animals for the foals, and to his relief they looked at him with newfound interest. He gave a balloon dog to Turquoise who squealed in laughter hugging them as the clown smiled, “Oh, is that all you foals want? Balloon animals and flowers?” They all nodded and started babbling. The clown laughed, he continued to make balloon animals and flowers and started hoofing them out to Pumice and Turquoise. He smiled as he thought, “For a second there those foals were acting a bit weird.” But before he could dwell on the matter, Flurry Heart jumped onto his face and started to tickle him, making him laugh! Soon, the other foals had drawn close! They all tackled the clown at once, pushing him over as they began to tickle his belly! He burst out into laughter shouting, “Stop it, that tickles!”
Pumice shouted, “Good, becawswe I tickiwn ya ta most!”
Turquoise shouted in protest, “Na uh, I am!”
Gemstone teased them as she protested, “Na uh, I gonna tickwe ta cwown ta most!”
Flurry was under the clown’s face, playing with his nose while unaware of the other foals. With all the other foals were distracting the clown, he was unaware that Sunburst was digging in his bag full of balloons.
Sunburst looked through the saddle bags, finding only unused balloons, and groaned, “I don see anythin.”
Shining helped look through (in case Sunburst missed something) and commented, “Yeah, I don see the potion. I tink tat ya was wong. The onwy cwown I didn’t wike, was the one on my owd twaining potty.”
“At weast youw pawents got you a unique potty, I got the owd ‘My Witte Potty’ to twain with. Starwight used to tease that hew potty was coower than mine’s,” Sunburst groaned, as turned to see the clown was now just playing with the foals and sighed, “I tink tey fowgot why we hewe.”
Shining laughed at that, and then he heard a whole bunch of mares shout ‘There you are!” Shining turned to see his mom, Twilight, and Cadence coming down the hall and he groaned, “Oh, we’we going to be in so much twoubwe.”
Cadence took the foals in her magic and placed them all on her back as the clown got up. Twilight Velvet came up to him and asked, “Are you alright?”
The clown snickered, “Oh, it’s fine, the little cuties just wanted some balloon animals.” He picked up his bags as Cadence replied, “Well it’s good to see that you and the foals are fine.”
The clown nodded and said, “Indeed, now I better get going. I have another party to get to and I certainly can’t be late for that. Such is the life of the great Laughing Rump.”
Cadence came up to Laughing Rump and said to him, “Well, I hope this experience hasn’t soured your experience here, because I would like to hire you again for Flurry Heart’s birthday party when it rolls around.”
Laughing Rump smirked, “Of course I’ll come back, maybe Shining will be potty trained by then.” That made Twilight, Cadence, and Twilight Velvet laugh, but everyone else just gave light giggles as Laughing Rump sighed, ” My jokes need work.”
After Cadence found the foals, the party came to an end. Most moms wanted to get home before their foals began acting up. Meanwhile, at the castle, Twilight Velvet was putting the foals to bed, tucking Sunburst and Shining into their crib, placing Shining’s new foal blanket over him, Shining now dressed in his bunny sleeper. She was kissing him goodnight and was tucking his Brutus Force doll into his hooves as Twilight mumbled, “I don’t get it, it took less than a few minutes for you to put them to bed, but it took me and Starlight hours to do the same..”
Velvet joked, “You just don’t have the touch yet.”
”Um, the touch? I’ve never read anything about the touch.” Twilight nervously pondered.
“You can’t read about it, it comes with experience. And I’ve got years of it.” Velvet explained and winked at Twilight.
Just then Starlight came into the nursery and asked, “Hey, is everything alright? I heard about what happened with the clown.”
Twilight and Twilight Velvet turned as Twilight explained, “Everything’s fine, Starlight. Hopefully nothing else crazy will happen today.”
Suddenly, Spike came bursting through the nursery doors as he shouted, “Twilight! Starlight! I think I found the pony who turned Shining into a foal!”
The sudden shout made the foals start crying, prompting Twilight to reply ”Spike, you woke the babies!”
Spike blushed and backed up, “Sorry, guess I forgot. But you need to come quickly.”
Twilight Velvet cooed at Twilight and Starlight as she told them, “Go ahead, I’ll get the little ones back to sleep.”
So Twilight and Starlight went out into the hallway with Spike. Twilight then asked, “So Spike, you said you may have found the pony who turned Shining into a foal. How did you find this stallion or mare, and where are they?”
Spike explained as he replied, “Well, I heard from ponies that a strange pony wearing a cloak was seen near the palace. Considering what happened with Sunburst and the fact that his parents are still working at the daycare, it can’t just be a coincidence!”
Twilight nodded and as she asked, “Alright, but did they see where this pony went?”
Spike nodded and said to Twilight and Starlight, “Yeah, the pony was spotted not too long ago, running towards the empire’s outskirts. We could catch him or her if we hurry.”
Starlight agreed, but then she asked, “But what about the foals? We can’t just leave them unattended.”
Twilight Velvet replied. “I’ll watch them, you two go on ahead. I need to wait for my husband to come back anyway.”
Twilight turned and whispered, “Okay mom, just be careful. Shining and Sunburst are trouble.”
Twilight Velvet giggled, “You should be the one being careful. If this pony could turn Shining into a foal, they might try to do it again.”
Twilight turned and sighed, “Alright Starlight, let’s go. Spike show us where the pony went!”
Spike saluted and replied. “Alright, Twilight, follow me.” Then he lead Twilight and Starlight as they ran off down the hall.
Twilight Velvet returned to the foals and resumed tucking them in, putting on their mobile, and giving all the foals pacifiers. Shining whimpered. “I gonna get a spankie.”
Flurry babbled, “No, Gwanma said she not gonna give us spankies. She nice.”
Sunburst responded. “Yeah Shiny, ya goin ta be otay. I sowie fow chasin ta cwown, Shiny. I showud of wisten ta ya eawiwa.”
Shining smiled and lisped. “It’s otay, bu my daddy is goin ta be mad.”
Flurry asked. “Ya mean Gwanpa?”
Shining nodded and Sunburst whispered. “Ya tink, he’ww give us aw spankies?”
Shining shook his head and babbled. “No, he’ww onwy spank me. And his spankies huwt!”
Just then, the nursery door opened, and Night Light strode in. Twilight Velvet came up and kissed her husband as she asked, “So how was your time with the stallions, including Shining’s old royal guard friends?”
“It was good, but I thought I’d come by to see Shiny,” Night Light replied. “I’m sorry I missed opening presents.” He whispered. Twilight Velvet held him close as she whispered something in his ear, making him chuckle. He came over to the crib and picked up Shining, who began to kick about and shake all over. Then he heard a steady hiss and Shining started to cry. Night Light just held him close and cooed. “There, there, Shiny. It's alright, I’m not going to spank you,” Shining stopped crying, he just garbled “Daddy”, and hugged his dad’s fur as Night Light gave his son’s diapered rump a few light pats before setting him back into the crib as he commented, “I'm glad you like your Brutus Force. I thought that it was a bit foalish, but I guess now that you are a foal he's perfect. You used to never do anything without him, heck you wouldn’t sit on your clown potty unless Brutus was there to watch you.”
Shining nodded and hugged Brutus Force close. Sunburst and Flurry began crying as Night Light came over to them and tickled them as he cooed. “Oh. do you two want attention as well?” He then pecked both foals on the forehead and asked. “Honey, want to change Shiny’s diaper? I think he peed himself a little.”
Twilight Velvet prodded Shining’s padding, making him giggle as she said. “I suppose I’ll give him a quick change before his nap so he doesn’t get a nasty diapee rash, but at least he didn’t make a stinky.” She lifted Shining from the crib and placed him on the changing table, effortlessly changing his diaper that was so slightly soaked it could hardly qualify. After the change, she tucked him under his blanket and kissed him on the cheek.
As the foals drifted to sleep Sunburst whispered. “Ya mommy and daddy awe weawwy nice, I hope we can pway with them afta owa nap.”
“Me too Sunnybuwst, me too.” Shining babbled under his breath, sucking his pacifier contently.
Twilight Velvet and Night Light watched Sunburst, Shining and Flurry Heart all curled up and sleeping together. Each foal had their tiny legs sprayed out, with their pacifiers bobbing up and down. Twilight Velvet was just smiling at the scene as she whispered to Night Light. “Oh honey, doesn't this remind you of when we would wake up early to find Twilight and Shining sleeping together?”
Night Light laughed, “Yeah, I think Twilight was in her two’s and she was scared of the dark.”
Twilight Velvet giggled,”I would say they grow up so fast, but now Shining’s back in diapers.”
Night Light nuzzled his wife as he whispered, “Yeah, it seems we got our little Shiny back for a little while.” They then heard a hisss and the two turned to see Shining’s diaper growing yellow. Twilight Velvet cooed, “Oh, looks like Shiny made a wettie.”
Night Light kissed his wife and said, “Let me change him, it’s the least I can do after being gone during the birthday party yesterday. I remember how much I hated missing his first birthday party, and I got him that clown potty on his second birthday as a present. It’s a pity he didn’t seem to like it that much.”
Twilight Velvet smiled. “Alright, honey. But do you still remember how to change a diaper? It’s been years since we potty trained Twilight.”
Night Light laughed “Of course I do, I didn’t take all those parenting classes when you were pregnant with Shining just to forget what they taught me once my youngest child was out of diapers.” He then took up Shining, placed him on the changing table, and started to untape his wet diaper.
Shining woke to the tapes of his diaper being pulled from the plastic. He blinked with surprise, looked around for a bit, then looked up at his dad. He smiled up at him and gurgled and babbled, “Dada.”
Night Light dawwed and whispered, “That’s right Shiny, Daddy is changing your soggy butt. It’s been so long since I did it, I think it was on your second birthday. You sure gave me a ‘present’ I couldn’t ever forget,” Shining giggled and kicked about. Night Light continued to place a new diaper under his butt and placed foal powder all over Shining’s bottom. Upon seeing how playful Shining was being during the change, Night Light bent down and blew a raspberry into his tummy, making him squeal as Night Light laughed, “Oh, you like that now? Just a few hours ago you got all pouty when I did that.”
Shining grumbled and turned his head as Night Light chuckled. He picked up Shining and turned to see Twilight Velvet with the other two foals as she whispered, “How about you go play with Shining while I get these two changed?”
Night Light smirked, “Alright, but don’t take too long. Shining is being grouchy today.” He then went over to Flurry’s toys and placed Shining among them.
Shining grumbled, as he reluctantly started to stack blocks with his dad. Then after Flurry Heart and Sunburst were changed, Velvet placed them next to Shining who looked at them and asked, “I dun get it, why do we wet ta bed aw ta time?”
Flurry shrugged, “We not potty twained yet, and it’s aw pawt of bein a foaw.”
Shining knocked the blocks over and babbled, “I hate bein a foaw, aw ta castwe staff and eveywpony at the pawty tink aw I do now, is mess my diapees and wook cute.”
Sunburst crawled over and poked Shining’s diaper making it crinkle as he retorted, “Shiny, ya a foaw. You supposed to mess ya diapees and act cute.”
Shining growled and brushed Sunburst’s hooves away as he mumbled, “Na uh, I awwowed to do gwown-up stuff too.”
Sunburst sat back, crossed his forelegs, and babbled, “Otay, since ya tuwned to a foaw, tew me one thing ya did tats gwonw up?”
Shining put his hooves in his mouth and thought for a few minutes as he babbled, “Wew, I wote ta wettas.”
Sunburst and Flurry Heart laughed, and Flurry Heart replied, “Tose wettas wew funny.”
Sunburst nodded. “Yeah, thews no way tose count. And dun mention you twied to use the big potty eithew, you feww in and Cadence had to fish you out!”
Shining got up and shouted, “I gonna pwove, I stiw a adwt! Ya two jus watch. You especiwway, Sunnybwust.” He looked around for a bit, unsure of what to do. Then he heard the door open and a royal guard from Canterlot came in. Said guard had a white coat, gold eyes and a blue mane and tail cut short. His cutie mark was a cannon with feathers blasting from it..
Twilight Velvet smiled, “Hello Cannon Feather, how are you doing?” She greeted.
Cannon Feather smirked, “Hey, um...I just wanted to say that the ceremony for Shining’s birthday is today.”
Twilight Velvet tried to refrain from further smirking as she asked, “I heard, so what are we going to tell the nobles? I don’t think Shining would like that kind of humiliation.”
Cannon Feather continued, “Cadence said something about telling them that he’s sick.”
As Shining listened to the grown ups taking, he went up to them babbling, “Hey, I not sick! I wana go to ta cewemony!”
Twilight Velvet and Night Light turned to Shining’s babbling (which they couldn’t understand) and dawwwed. Night Light cooed, “Aww, does Shiny want to go to his ceremony anyway?”
Twilight Velvet laughed, “Could you imagine all the nobles seeing their prince as a foal, in diapers no less?”
Shining got angry and stomped his hoof babbling louder. Cannon Feather laughed, “Oh looks like Captain Shining is giving out orders.”
Shining smiled and babbled at Cannon feather who saluted him, “Of course, Captain. I could take you to the ceremony but I don't think you’d want all the nobles to know you're a foal.”
Shining got angry and started to shout! He’d already had his planned birthday party scrapped, he wasn’t about to have the ceremony be dropped because of his condition. The nobles needed to know he was still in charge, despite his current state of appearance.
While the grown ups were laughing at Shining’s antics, Flurry Heart whispered to Sunburst, “Hey, how about we pway a wittwe pwank on my daddy and put some foaw powda in his diapee to get him to wighten up?” Sunburst eagerly nodded, even if doing so increased the risk of retaliation from Shining (going down the drain would be worth it to know he’d gotten to Shining).
Flurry Heart then levitated a bottle of foal powder with her horn as Sunburst used his magic to pull Shining’s diaper back and let Flurry dump a whole bunch of foal powder into it. Shining only noticed the sudden sensation of the foal powder going into his diaper when he turned and shouted, “Hey, what was tat?!” He started to waddle towards the other two foals, noticing clouds of foal powder burst through the leg holes of his diaper. He groaned, “Aw, wah di ya two do?!” He demanded. He started to shake his rump, trying to get the extra foal powder out, while the other two foals laughed. Shining groaned, the foal powder wasn't coming out no matter how hard he tried. So he started to bounce up and down on his padded rump. This made Twilight Velvet gasp as she whispered, “Look honey, it’s Shiny’s diaper dance!”
Night Light turned and blushed, seeing the clouds of foal powder bellowing from the leg holes of his son’s diaper, “Oh wow, I didn’t think I put that much foal powder on him.” He commented.
Twilight Velvet laughed, “It’s fine, I need to go get my camera! No way I’m missing a chance to capture it this time!” And she ran off.
Shining barely noticed his mom leave, he was more concerned with the foal powder getting all over the place. He was now rotating between shaking his diaper and plopping it on the ground. Each time he did either, giant clouds of foal powder poofed around him. His mom soon returned with her camera, and was taking pictures of him.
Cannon Feather whispered, “Is this the famous diaper dance?”
Night Light chuckled, “You heard about that?”
Cannon Feather whispered, “There's a rumor around the palace in Canterlot that Velvet talked to some royal guards about how Shiny used to do a diaper dance as a foal and soon the entire castle knew about it, but we swore to never tell Captain Shining we knew. He’d have us all court martialed.”
Night Light laughed, “Yes it's a little secret in the family. On Shining’s fourth birthday my wife and I were having a birthday party for Shining with some relatives who worked in the royal guard. She was talking about his diaper dance and Shining made her swear to never tell anypony. Looks like word got out anyway, but it’s far from the most embarrassing thing he did as a foal. We made sure to keep his truly embarrassing moments a true family secret.”
Shining Armor was still bouncing up and down in his diaper, clouds of foal powder now enveloped him completely, while the other foals rolled around, laughing. Twilight Velvet just continued to snap pictures as she cooed, “Oh I can't wait to tell Twilight about Shiny’s diaper dance. I already told Shining about Twily’s diaper dance that she learned from him.”
Cannon Feather chuckled, “Oh man, if I have ever foals of my own, I’m gonna have to be extra careful to keep their embarrassing moments a secret from my royal guard buddies.”
Shining looked up in horror at the adults who were all smiling at him. He started to whimper, and feeling so embarrassed he started crying. Twilight Velvet dawwed, picked him up and hugged him close as she cooed. “Oh honey are you embarrassed? I’m sorry, I guess we got carried away with your fun with you,” Shining turned his head in anger and mumbled under his breath. Velvet continued to coo as she added, “Come on, let's get you out of that over powdered diaper,” She put him onto the changing table and dressed him up in a new diaper she whispered, “Don't worry, I’ll make sure Daddy puts less foal powder on your rump from now on.”
Shining just grumbled as he was changed. Velvet then dropped him off with the other foals. They were still laughing as he shouted. “Not funny guys, ya ben mean!”
Flurry rolled her eyes and babbled. “Aw come on, Daddy. It was funny. Gemstone and I do tat aww the time to each othew, and ouw mommies dun mind.”
Sunburst babbled, “So ya stiw wan ta go to ta bowin meetin?”
Shining nodded, “Yeah, I done bein a foa! I wan ta find ta cupwit and be a stawiion again!”
Flurry sighed and asked, “So wha? Awe goin to escape ta nuwsewy again? We gonna get in big twouble if we do, tis time we suwe to get spankies.”
But Shining replied. “Well, I goin to ta cewemony. If ya dun wan ta come, tats fine. I woudn’t wan you guys to get into twouble because of me. Bu sometimes a baby’s gotta do what a baby’s gotta do!”
Flurry nodded and said, “Oh, I otay with it. Bu you do weawise ya can’t tawk ta gwon ups wight?”
Shining thought for a few minutes (unconsciously he started bouncing on his diaper) and suddenly he shouted ,”I’ww wite anotha wetta! Tis one with pictuas so I can show tem aww I got tuwned to a foaw! With evewpony wokkin fow ta cupwit, tey find ta pony fasta!”
Sunburst put a hoof to his chin, “Tat does sound wike a good idea, I goin to go get cwayons and some papa.”
Shining nodded and instructed. “Do tat, Sunnybuwst! I’ww wite ta wetta, ya and Fwurry make ta pictuas.”
As Sunburst crawled off to get crayons and paper, Twilight Velvet sighed, “We should go to the ceremony just to say we were there, and come back. Plus, that way we can make it look like we didn’t know about Shining’s current condition so the nobles don’t suspect anything. They don’t know about the birthday party or that we came here on the train yesterday.”
Night Light nodded, “Right, good idea, honey. We need to preserve Shining’s reputation with the nobles,” He turned to Cannon feather and asked him, ”You can watch the foals for a few minutes, right?”
Cannon Feather nodded. “Sure, I don’t mind. Just don’t be long, I have no experience with foals, not even diapers!”
Twilight Velvet laughed. “Just make sure they stay in the nursery. And if you need help, just flag down a passing guard. We’ll be back soon though, so I doubt they’ll be much trouble.” The two then left, leaving Cannon Feather to guard the nursery.
Flurry Heart was drawing a white coated stallion turning into a foal, with a bug looking pony standing over him. She babbled. “I made Shiny tuwing into a foaw by tat meanie queen.”
Sunburst giggled as he told Flurry Heart. “We dun know if she did it.”
Flurry Heart babbled, “She took us before, and I heawd she twied to wuin Mommy and Daddy’s wedding. I bet she ta one who tuwned Daddy into a foaw. She a butt head, and she wucky I didn’t get to hew, or she’d be needing diapees!”
Sunburst shrugged at Flurry’s comment, he simply held up his drawing as he explained. “I made Shiny in a biwthday hat with his cake.”
Flurry giggled, “How about dwaw and ya tackwin ta biwthday cwown?” She suggested.
Sunburst nodded and shouted, “Gweat idea! And ya gotta dwaw Shiny’s diapee dance!”
They both giggled as Flurry babbled saddly, “I gonna miss Daddy when he tuwns back into a big pony. He was so much fun. Even mowe fun than you, Sunnybuwst”
Sunburst nodded and mumbled, “Yeah, he was kind of fun. I gwad he didn’t get a chance to twy and fwush me down the toiwet though. I’d weathew not smeww wike a dwity diapee aww the time.”
Flurry looked up and asked, “Do you wike Daddy as a foaw despite those thweats?”
Sunburst replied with a nod, “Yeah, I do. I gwess I was a bit jeaowus at fiwst, and I stiw am.”
“Why?” Flurry asked Sunburst.
“Becawse I jus wana pway with you as a foaw, and when Shiny tuwned into a foaw, I tought ya wowud pway with him mowe ten me.” Sunburst confessed.
Flurry groaned and rolled her eyes, grown-ups (even ones turned into foals) were always so stupid. “Come on, Sunnybuwst! I pwayed with both of ya at ta same time.”
Sunburst nodded, “Yeah. Besidwes, I wove tese adventuas. I gonna miss tem when I too have to go back to being a big pony, and I hope thewe’s a speww out there that’ll wet me change mysewf into a foaw at wiww so we can do stuff wike tis again.”
Shining then came over and asked, “So, di ya two make ta pictuas?” They showed them to him, and he sighed seeing how bad they were. But he could at least kind of make out what they were trying to portray so he reluctantly said, “Tey gweat, bu Chwysaiss pwoababwy didn tuwn me into a foaw. She’d pwobabwy have foawnapped me by now if tat was so.”
Flurry Heart shrugged. “Weww, she might of anyway just to be a butt howe.”
Sunburst, eager to change the topic, asked. “So, can we see the wetta?”
Shining gave the letter to Sunburst, it read as follows:
“My deaw Cwystal Subjects,
I, Pwince Shiny, am a foaw. Pwease hewp me find ta pony who tuwned me into a foaw so tat I can change back
Sincewy,
Pwince Shiny of ta Cwystal Empiwe.”
As Shining stuffed the letter and the drawing into his diaper he babbled, “Now we gots ta get to ta thwon woom. Wucky fow us, Cannon Feather isn't ta smawtest guawd and we can twick him eaiswy.”
Flurry asked her father. “How we gonna do tat?”
Shining grinned. “I gots an idea! Do you gots mowe foaw powda?”
Flurry Heart and Sunburst now had their diapers filled with foal powder. as Shining giggled and asked them. “Weady fow ta diapee dance?”
Flurry Heart replied, “Not weawwy, why dun ya do it?”
Shining shook his head, “Ya two awe doin it so I can sneak by.”
Sunburst gave Shining his best pair of puppy dog eyes as he pleaded. “Can ya teach us how to do it, pwease?”
Shining sighed. “Otay, pay attention!” They both looked at him as he stood up and put out his diaper rump. “Now it’s easy. Stawt by shaking youw diapee about a bit,” He instructed. Flurry Heart and Sunburst both started shaking their rumps as Shining continued. “Now bounce ya diapees on ta fwoow,” They all started to bounce on their diapered rumps and started giggling. Even Shining lightened up as he instructed, “Now, if ya feew ta powada settwin neaw ya wump, sit down and wet it poof out of the weg holes,” He plopped down, making his diaper wheeze, but Sunburst and Flurry’s diapers burst with clouds of foal powder! Shining nodded. “Told ya it’s easy!” He proudly boasted.
Flurry giggled, already scheming on how to show this off to her mom. “Otay, wet’s distwact Cannon Featha!” She shouted.
Cannon Feather was busy picking dirt from his coat, when he heard foalish babble. He turned to see Flurry Heart and Sunburst crawling up to him. He smiled and asked, “Hey, what are you two doing here?” They started to bounce on their diapers as he laughed, “Oh, is that Shiny’s diaper dance? Did he teach it to you two?” They both just continued to babble and shake their diapered rumps. Cannon Feather laughed, “Oh this is too cute.”
All the while, Shining was sneaking past Cannon Feather. He saw the door wasn't fully closed, so he opened it and ran down the hall. He soon found the throne room, packed with nobles. Twilight Velvet and Night Light were there, along with Twilight and Starlight Glimmer. All of them of talking together in hushed voices as Cadence was giving a long, boring speech. Shining looked up at the podium and scrawled through the crowd, going completely unnoticed. As he climbed up beneath the podium all the ponies looked at him and whispered. Some ponies cooed. He then babbled, “Can I hawe everypony’s attention?” They all looked at him as he took out the drawings and showed them, “See, I Shiny...I got tuwned to a foaw.” He pointed to the drawings as the ponies dawwed.
Cadence was busy reading off her scroll, not realizing what was going on. Meanwhile the nobles dawwed and started to whisper amongst each other, making comments such as, “What is it?” “They’re so cute, did he make those?” and. “What a clever artist.”
Shining sighed, realizing he was getting nowhere, he took out the letter and showed it to the crowd. The nobles closest to him tried reading it. Some whispered, “Is that Prince Shining?” “Why is he a foal?” Shining whimpered and pointed to the drawings. One of the adults examined the pictures and said. “Oh, Chrysalis turned Shining into a foal,” The nobles all started laughing, as one replied, “He must have an overactive imagination.”
Shining groaned and sat back down on his diaper. He then bounced again and smirked as he thought,“My diaper dance, I wonder if anypony will recognize it?” He started bouncing up and down on his diaper making the nobles laugh and giggle softly. He then started to shake his diapered rump at the crowd and sat down, making his diaper wheeze. But then he groaned and felt a sudden mess push into his diaper. He blushed and gasped as it made everypony start laughing out loud.
“What’s going on?” Cadence shouted, her attention finally broken by the laughter and Shining’s audible messing. Then she heard (as a foul stench hit her nostrils) “Prince Shining, get back here!”
Everyone turned and gasped to see Cannon Feather running down the hall, sweating and covered in foal powder, with the other foals on his back still bouncing around, foal powder going everywhere!
The entire hall erupted in laughter, quickly turning their attention away from Shining. Cadence looked down at Shining, who looking around with a confused look. She quickly placed a hoof on her face, both to block out the smell (though it wasn’t as potent as Flurry Heart’s dirty diapers) and to keep herself from laughing..
A short time later, Cadence held Shining (who had been changed into a fresh diaper)in a foal carrier on her side, standing near the front entrance to the castle. He giggled and waved as the nobles passed by and told him “Happy Birthday”. He just gave them a smile and waved his hoof.
As the last of the nobles left, Cadence closed the doors and sighed, “Well, now the entire empire knows Shining’s a foal.”
Twilight nodded and commented, “And what’s worse is that the tip Spike had just led us to a old mare.”
Starlight Glimmer had Sunburst on her back as she replied, “So what happened? I mean what were the foals doing this time?”
Cadence laughed as she said. “Just being foals of course. I think Shining did his signature diaper dance in front of everypony, then he made a messy. Luckily his mom was there to quickly change his stinky butt.”
This made all the mares laugh out loud, but made Shining blush and curl up in his carrier. Twilight then replied, “Well now everypony knows he's a foal. But we still don't know who the culprit is. Any suggestions or leaders, Cadence?”
Cadence who was exhausted sighed, “Who knows? Maybe you just misplaced the potion and it somehow got on shining?” She then got up and suggested. “Let’s get the foals to the nursery and from now on they will be supervised by me or a trusted grown-up twenty four seven.” The mares nodded in agreement as the foals were carried back to the nursery, with Shining looking down, unsure of what to do.
A few hours after Shining’s escapade, the foals were now all back in the nursery in a playpen, with Cadence hovering over them watching them like a hawk. Flurry, Sunburst, and Shining were all building a city made of blocks together, trying to see how big they could make it before bed. The foals were quiet, as they were unsure of what to say. Shining finally broke the silence with an exasperated sigh and babbled, “I sowie ya two fow gettin ya in twoubwe. Sunnybuwst, ya wight, I shouwd jus stayed and pwayed with ya and Fwuwwy, instead of twyin to act wike a gwown-up.”
Sunburst looked up at Shining and smiled at him as he replied, “It’s otay, I was a meanie too fow teasing ya. I sowie ya got spankies by Cady.” He crawled up to Shining and hugged him close.
Flurry started clapping her hooves and squealed, “Yeah, ya two finawwy made up! Now I dun need to wowwy about you two fighting ow twying to fwush the othew down the big scawy toiwet!”
Shining rolled his eyes and mumbled, “Yeah, we fine fow now, be hawd to fwush Sunnybwust anyway with Cadence watching us. I gwess we showd jus pway and be good foaws, we caused enough twoubwe awweady.”
Sunburst nodded and agreed, “Besides, this city of bwocks is wooking nice. Hopefuwwy we can finish it befowe night nights.”
Flurry giggled and commented, “Yeah, ya see wha ya two can do when ya wowk togetha?”
Shining looked out the window and saw the sun setting, which made him ponder. “I gwess we dun got awot of time weft to pway tough, it’s gettin dawk.”
Sunburst babbled. “Ten get a move on! I wanna buiwd a castwe of bwocks befowe night nights.”
As the foals hurried to finish their block city, Starlight Glimmer who was busy talking to Twilight, before she turned around and asked, “Hey Cadence, since it’s almost time to put the foals to bed, can I change Sunburst?”
Cadence laughed out loud before she caught herself and whispered, “Of course. Besides, I think I smell a stinky Shining.”
Starlight picked Sunburst up, while Cadence picked up Shining and soon the two were placed on the changing table to have their stinky butts changed. Sunburst began to groan though, as Starlight began making a big deal about it, laughing, “Oh, there’s my Sunny Bunny’s stinky rump! Never thought I’d be getting used to you doing it! What’s next, am I gonna have to help re-potty train you?!” She started wiping him, making Sunburst giggle and coo.
All the while, Cadence was doing the same to Shining. The prince sighed, he was (reluctantly) getting quite used to these diaper changes now. Still, he he smiled at his wife and giggled as she wiped his rump clean. Strapping on another diaper, Cadence gazed at her tiny husband, flailing his limbs and making cute crinkling noises with his diaper. She just sighed and cooed, “You're lucky you're so cute, what with all the trouble you caused today,” Shining gasped and put his hooves over his eyes, making Cadence laugh, “Oh, don’t think you can disappear from me, Shiny!” She gave him a raspberry, making him giggle and squeal in laughter, as she blew another one. “Oh no, Shiny, you owe me! Here comes another one!” She then came down and blew a second raspberry, eliciting more laughter from the foal prince. She then picked up a cute blue sleeper with little crystals decorating it. She zipped Shining into it and let him crawl off to the blocks, Sunburst was then settled right there with him who was also in a new diaper and a cute sleeper. Starlight Glimmer ruffled his mane and cooed, “Go on and play, you still have a few minutes before bed.”
Sunburst nodded and waddled off towards Shining and Flurry Heart building their block tower. Shining turned towards the crinkling sounds and giggled at the sleeper as he babbled, “So Sunnybuwst, ya have enough powda on ya wump?”
Sunburst bounced on his diaper. “Yep, no nasty washies tonight.” He then helped build the tower of blocks as Shining asked, “So Sunnybuwst, how was ya change?”
Sunburst shrugged, “Fine, Starwight aways does the best job.”
Shining shouted in protest, “Nah uh! Cady is the best diapee changea of aw time! She’s an actuaw foaw sitter, so she’s got expewience!”
Flurry got flustered and shouted, “Guys, I thought ya said no mow fightin?! Da I have to sepewate ya too and give ya spankies with my magic?!”
The colts blushed, shuddered at the thought of Flurry Heart punishing them like that, and babbled, “Sowie, Fwuwwy.”
Flurry grumbled, as she placed another block on top of Shining’s block, while Sunburst asked, “so now tat evewy pony knows Shiny’s a foaw, ya tink we can finawwy go to ta pawk?”
Flury Heart nodded and exclaimed, “Yeah, I wants ta go to ta pawk tomowwow and pway in the sandbox again!”
Shining shook his head and babbled, “Nah, I dun wana! I got embewassed enough today. I dun wan to be seen as a foaw by anymowe ponies.”
Flurry grumbled, “Tat was aw ya fawt, Daddy. I towd ya ta just stay in ta nusewy.”
Shining nodded and blushed, “Awght, Fwuwwy, ya wight about tat. I was bein a poopy head.”
Flurry giggled, crawled over and hugged her dad, and whispered, “Oh Daddy, ya just funny. Ya not a poopy head.”
Cadence just watched the adorable scene unfold, and let Flurry Heart finish her hug. She then came by and scooped the foals into her magical embrace as she cooed, “Alright you three, time for night nights,” She tucked them all under a foal blanket and spun the mobile overhead. After Cadence slipped a pacifier into each of the foal’s mouths, they all began to fall asleep, until Shining looked around and began to whimper. Cadence was confused for a second, then she looked on the floor, saw Brutus Force, and dawwed, “Oh, Shiny just wants his snuggle buddy.” She drifted it straight into his waiting hooves. He snuggled it close and started to drift off to sleep, making Cadence blush at how foalish her husband was now. “I can’t wait to tell Flurry Heart about this when she’s older.”
After the foals had fallen asleep, Cadence talked to Twilight and Starlight, “Tomorrow, I’m going to be gone for most of day trying to explain to the kingdom that Shining’s problem is temporary.” She told them.
Twilight sighed, “I’m so sorry about today, Starlight and I should of been here.”
Cadence smirked, “Oh, it’s nopony’s fault. When foals have their mind made up they’ll do anything.”
Starlight then commented. “Well, I’ve been dealing with Sunburst and Flurry Heart all week. I won’t mind one more day I suppose.”
Twilight nodded, “Yeah, I won’t mind it either. We’ll make sure the foals don’t cause anymore trouble, Cadence.”
Cadence hugged the two and whispered, “Thanks you two. Now I better get some sleep, there’s a lot I have to do tomorrow,” The tired pink coated alicorn sighed as she walked off.
Twilight followed Cadence outside and bowed her head as she explained, “I'm so sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused. I’m the one who made the potion that got Shining turned into a foal. If there are any repercussions for that, let me take them.”
Cadence gave Twilight a motherly smile and hugged her. “It’s okay, Twilight, everything’s going to be alright. I’ll just make sure all the ponies of the Crystal Empire know that Shining will only be a foal for a week. Trust me, this is partially Shining's fault too. He’s the one who ran off and did his little dance in front of the nobles. I wanted to keep them in the dark.”
Twilight looked up at Cadence, “You sure? I mean there’s no royal punishment?” She asked.
Cadence giggled, “Well unless you count diaper duty no, nothing is going to happen to you. Now go get some sleep, you’ll need it to keep up with the foals tomorrow.”
Twilight blushed and nodded, “Right, thanks Cadence,” She then walked back into the nursery and after closing the door, she looked at Shining and whispered, “For someone who didn’t want to be a foal, you sure are causing a lot of trouble.
Starlight then took out some sleeping bags and suggested, “Seeing how rowdy the foals have been, I thought it best if we slept in the nursery to make sure they don’t escape.” She drapped them both on the floor, as Twilight came up to them.
“Thanks Starlight, this is a good idea. Now if they try to escape again, we’ll be right here to catch ‘em.” Twilight commented, and smoothed out her sleeping bag.
“No problem, Twilight.” Starlight commented, as she crawled into her sleeping bag.
Twilight and Starlight snuggled underneath the sleeping bags as Twilight sighed, “I really hope the foals are done causing trouble.”
Flurry Heart woke later that night and saw Shining sleeping soundly. She crawled up to him and stared at him for a moment. He was grasping Brutus Forces and smiling under his pacifier as it bobbed up and down. He looked so peaceful, which only made Flurry Heart feel really guilty.
She whispered to her dad, “I sowie, Daddy. I didn't wan ya ta be waughed at. I just wanted to pway with ya becawse ya aways busy aww the time. I pwomice I’ww make ya a big pony again now,” She then stood up, looking at her bars before she effortlessly flew over them.
Both Twilight and Starlight were fast asleep in their sleeping bags, so they saw and heard nothing.
Flurry Heart carefully went over to her toy chest and pulled out a teddy bear. Looking around to make sure no one was watching her, she opened the sticky tabs on the back where the stuffing would usually be inserted. But instead of stuffing, the insides of the bear contained several tubes of different colored substances that Flurry Heart had confiscated. She gulped, eyeing the unmarked tubes, “Uh oh, I fowgot which one was ta cuwe,” She nervously whispered to herself, and she knew she didn’t have much time.
Reluctantly, Flurry Heart picked out the nearest one, a tube with a blue colored powdery substance inside it and flew back to the crib, taking care not to drop or spill it. Nervously, she tossed the contents onto Shiny, watching as he breathed in the magical dust.
Smiling, Flurry went back to sleep as she whispered, “See ya tomowwow, Daddy. You wewe fun to pway with and I hope you wun fowget aww ouw fun times togethew when ya tuwn back into a gwown-up.”
Twilight woke the next morning to Celestia’s sun streaming down on her face. She mumbled, “Princess Celestia, a few more minutes, please.”
Starlight, meanwhile, was stumbling awake. She yawned, walked over to the crib and peered at the foals. Eyeing their diapers she mumbled, “All asleep, good. But it looks like you three could use some diaper changes,” She then saw that where Shining was supposed to be, there just Brutus Forces! Frantically, Starlight rubbed her eyes, hoping she had seen things! She looked over Flurry, Sunburst, then Brutus Force, but there was no sign of Shining anywhere! She immediately shouted. “Shining’s gone!”
Twilight shot up from bed and rushed over to the crib, she looked all over and groaned when she saw her brother was nowhere to be seen. “Oh no, not again!” She exclaimed. The other foals got up and started to look around in panic, then they started to bawl. Twilight snapped and turned to starlight as she gave orders, “Starlight, I’ll get them changed. Go get the stroller and some foal supplies! We’re going to find Shining, he couldn’t have gotten far.”
Starlight nodded, rushed off to a closet, and grabbed a pink foal buggy which she began to stuff with things like diapers, powder, wipes, toys, and even blankets. Meanwhile, Twilight quickly drifted Sunburst and Flurry Heart to the changing table, and changed them out of their soaked diapers.
Sunburst babbled, “Whas goin on?! Wha happen ta Shiny?! Did he fwush himsewf down the toiwet somehow?!” Flurry turned away and began to whimper as Sunburst looked at her and asked, “Flurry, did ya see him weave at aww?! Did he mention anyting to ya?!”
Flurry Heart turned her head and sadly replied, “I sowie, Sunnybuwst, is aww my fawt!”
Sunburst eyed Flurry Heart and asked, “Wha ya mean is youw fauwt?! Did ya do someting to Shiny to make him disappeaw?!” But before Flurry Heart could explain, Starlight brought the fully loaded, frilly looking, and pink colored foal buggy. Sunburst stared at it with dismay as he groaned, “Aw, why di she coose tat foaw buggy?!”
Flurry just giggled, forgetting about what she was going to tell Sunburst. She got excited, kicking about and cooing. Twilight took the freshly padded foals and strapped them in as she asked, “Starlight, what did you pack!?”
Starlight reported in military fashion, “Diapers, wipes, formula, foal toys, pacifiers, and extra foal blankets.”
Twilight nodded, “Good job, Starlight! Now come on, we’ve wasted enough time already! Celestia knows where Shining could be!” She then grabbed Starlight and teleported herself and the foals out of the palace!
Shining woke up hearing two voices talking about something. He looked up to see a dark orange coated mare with a brown and red mane and tail, and her husband arguing. The stallion shouted, “Honey, we need to bring him back to the Crystal Palace! Every second we have him, we look like the culprits who actually did this to him. ”
“Oh come on, they’ll blame us that he’s a foal!” The mare argued back. “We’re already in trouble as it is, or did you forget Sunburst?” The mare responded in a worried tone.
The stallion shouted in protest, “So what then? We just keep him?!”
The mare shouted back “I don’t know, why don’t we just drop him off at the Crystal Playplace and let them inform the castle!”
But the stallion only shouted, “Oh come on, haven't you learned your lesson yet?!”
Shining just blinked with surprise at what he was seeing and thought, “Are these the ponies who turned me into a foal? Did they foalnap me while I was asleep?” He looked around, taking in his surroundings. He realized he was on a park bench, hopped off, and crawled away from the yelling stallion and mare as he thought, “Yeesh, these two need marriage counseling or something,” He waddled around for a while trying to figure where he was. All of a sudden, he saw crystal ponies who were playing games and enjoying some kind of celebration. Shining gulped and was looking around as he thought, “Where am I? How did I get here?” Then he gasped as he suddenly realized something, “Ah, is a bithwday cewebwation! Must be fow one of Fwuwwy Heawt’s fwiends!”
Shining started to crawl around and avoid the ponies, but soon he saw Pumice and Turquoise with their mom, sucking on bottles on their mom’s laps, while said mare was talking with another one, both of them eating some salad. The foals quickly spotted him, they both got up and climbed off their mom’s laps as Shining met them under the table. He hugged the two and shouted, “Puwmice! Tuwquoise! I so gwad ya two awe hewe! Gwad to see some fwiendly faces!”
The two foals squealed “Shining!”, and hugged the prince back. But their hooves were filled with buggers and drool, which caused Shining to step away with a blush. As Shining was trying to clean himself off, Turquoise asked. “So wha ya doin hewe, Shiny?”
Pumice giggled as he babbled, “Yeah, Shiny. Come to show off ya diapee? We heawd aw about it.”
Turquoise giggled and started bouncing in his diaper, “Yeah, now aw ta foaws in ta Cwystaw Pwaypwace awe twyin to do ta Shiny diapee dance. Ya famous! You come to show us how is done?!”
Shining’s jaw just gave the foals a dumbfounded expression, he couldn’t believe how fast word had travelled of that dance of his. He then shook his head and told the foals, “Nu, I not hewe to teach ya two tat. Wight now, I need to get back to ta pawace.”
Turquoise suckled his hoof as he pondered, “Wew, my mommy cowd hewp ya.”
Pumice held up a hoof, “But first, teach us the diapee dance ya famous fow.”
Shining shook his head, “Na uh, I won’t do that eva again. Especiwway not aftew I made a messy whiwe doing it in fwont of the nobews! I nevew gonna wive tat down!”
Turquoise crossed his forelegs and babbled, “Wew ten, we not gonna hewp ya get back to ta pawace.”
Shining grumbled as he bounced on his diaper, pondering the situation. Then he reluctantly said to the foals, “Fine, I’ww teach ya two when I get to ta pawace, bu not befowe. Deaw?”
They both nod as Pumice stuck his hoof out. “Deaw.”
Shining gulped and shook it real fast, then wiped it on the ground, as he gave a queasy smile and said to the foals, “Sounds gweat, now let’s go see ya mommy.” He then crawled off with the other foals and came up to Turquoise’s mom as she whispered, “I heard that the nobles got treated to Shining’s diaper dance, that must of been so adorable. I wish I was there to see it, Celestia knows Turquoise would try to imitate it if he knew how.”
Shining grumbled as he thought, “I think i’m going to need another vacation after this.” He then tugged the mare’s tail as she turned to see the three foals.
Turquoise’s mom gave a stern look as she began to ask, “Turquoise what are…” But upon seeing Shining she gasped in surprise, “Prince Shining?! My goodness, how did you get out of the palace?” She then scooped him into her loving embrace and held him close. “Don't you worry, I’ll going to get you back to the palace.”
The other mares gathered around dawwing over the prince and cooing while making comments such as. “Is that Prince Shiny?”, “Oh he’s so adorable.”, and even, “Aw, you think he'll do his diaper dance for us?”
The other foals started to bust into laughter as Shining just groaned and thought to himself, “This was a bad idea. Nopony will ever be able to take me seriously ever again.”
Shining Armor was now being swarmed by all the mares in the area. They dawwed and cooed over him. Asking him embarrassing questions such as “Is the little guy doing okay?”, “Does he need a diaper change?”, “Is he hungry” Completely embarrassed, Shining put his hooves over his eyes. This elicited only more daws from the mares as some cooed “Oh, is little Shiny embarrassed?”
Seeing how Shining was embarrassed and scared, Pumice’s Mom took him up and started to strap him into a stroller. Then a clown peeked over at them, Shining and Pumice both gasped, as Shining recognized the clown as Laughing Rump! The clown smiled down at Shining and cooed. “Hello little prince, and how are you doing this fine evening?”
Shining put his hooves over his eyes again and all the ponies nearby dawwed out loud as he groaned. Laughing Rump joked, “Aww, looks like little Shiny is a grumpy pants,” Shining started to tear up and looked ready to bawl at the remark. Seeing how agitated Shining was, Laughing Rump quickly made him a balloon flower and placed it into the foal's hooves as he cooed. “Hopefully that cheers you up.”
Shining took the flower and hugged it close, and for some reason he began to suckle it as if it were a bottle or a pacifier. He blushed as he realized what he was doing, and popped it from his mouth. He looked up at Laughing Rump who smirked. “Oh, don't be nervous. You must really like your balloon flower.” All the colts and fillies laughed out loud, as Shining covered himself in the foal blankets.
Pumice’s mother sighed, seeing that Shining was still nervous, and whispered to Laughing Rump. “Thank you, but we better get going. I need to get Shining back to the castle, I’m sure everypony there is looking for him.”
Laughing Rump bowed and ruffled Shining’s mane as he cooed. “Sorry I went a bit far, but you really are such a good foal, Shiny. I hope you’ll remember me when you turn back to normal.” He and the other mares then backed off and gave Pumice’s mom some space, so she could push the stroller down the road.
Shining was still nervous and hugged the balloon flower close to his chest for security (normally this is what Brutus Force was for, but Brutus was back at the castle and had not teleported with Shining). Seeing how nervous Shining was, Pumice’s mom kissed him on the forehead, then kissed her own son. Shining blushed and smiled a bit at the mare, at least she was willing to respect what dignity he still had. She smiled back, slipped two pacifiers into the foals mouths, and strapped the two in snuggly as she cooed. “Now you two be good little foals and relax. We should be at the palace in no time.”
Shining settled in the buggy and suckled his pacifier as he thought, “I hope so, I don't know how much more of this I can take.” Shining suckled his pacifier contently, as a small smile spread over his face. Pumice’s mom couldn’t help but pinch Shining's cheeks and coo. “Oh, I wish you were always this cute, Shiny.” He rolled his eyes as she giggled and started to push the stroller down the road.
As the stroller rolled along, Pumice turned towards Shining Armor and babbled. “So Shiny, di ya wan to come out hewe?”
Shining shook his head. “Na uh, I didn't wun aw tis attention. Aw ta ponies in ta Cwysta Empiwe awe goin to tweat me wike a foaw now, even when I a gwown-up.”
But Pumice shook his head and protested, “No, tat’s not twue. We awe happy ya and Cady saved us fwom meanie Somby.”
Shining looked up and asked. “Weawwy, even ta foaws tink tat?”
Pumice nodded. “Yeah, no amount of diapee dances and oopsies in ya diapees is gonna change tat youw owa hewo.”
Shining blushed at the compliment and curled up, unintentionally scrunching his diaper. He then whimpered. “Still, I so embewassed, I dun tink anypony is gonna fowget tis.”
Pumice shrugged. “Maybe, but I bet Fwuwwy woved pwayin with ya. And she woves ya awot. Bu ya aways busy when ya was a gwown up, and she was sad she neva gots ta pway with ya.”
Shining gasped and whispered. “Weawwy, she said tat?!”
Pumice nodded and explained. “Yeah, bu now tat ya a foaw, ya can pway with hew awe day instead of doin bowin gwown-up stuff.”
Shining groaned as he put his hooves over his face and whined, “I a bad daddy, I sowie Fwuwwy! I didn mean to not spend anytime with ya!”
Pumice hugged him and whispered. “It otay. Even when ya was busy, she stiw woved ya. She just wanted ya to spend a bit mowe time with hew,” This made Shining smile and he snuggled under the blankets with Pumice right by his side. Pumice then whispered. “Well, if it make you feel betta, ya don't have to do the diapee dance if you don't want to, otay? I was just pwayin.”
Shining smiled in relief and whispered, “Tanks Pumice. I’ww rewawd ya somehow when I a gwown up again.”
Pumice pondered a bit before asking. “Can I have a pack of Fwuwwy’s bwue diapees? I kind a wike tem.”
Shining laughed out loud before agreeing. “Suwe, Pumice. I’ww buy ya enough bwue diapees ta wast ya untiw ya potty twained, pwobabwy even beyond then!”
While Shining was riding in a foal buggy with Pumice. Twilight and Starlight were with Flurry Heart and Sunburst looking all over for Shining. They were calling out his name as Flurry and Sunburst were looking about too. Flurry cried and whined. “This is aww my fawt. I sowie, Daddy.” And she started to cry.
Sunburst hugged her and whispered. “It's otay, Fwuwwy. We goin to find him.”
Flurry whined. “How do ya know? He cowd be anywhewe!”
Sunburst replied and explained. “Wememba when I was wost? Ya found me, and we got home togetha. We goin ta do ta same fow Shiny. We wiww get him back!” He poked his diaper as he added. “I pwomice on my paddin, we goin to find him!” This made Flurry giggle, and Sunburst smiled upon seeing how happy she was now. He thought to himself. “Even though she turned Shining into a foal, I don't like seeing her sad. She is just a foal after all. Besides, I know she didn’t mean it. She didn’t even tell me about her plan.”
Flurry cheered up a bit, and hugged Sunburst back. They snuggled together for a while, just lying in their foal blankets, and listening to the foal buggy gentle rolling along. All of a sudden, Sunburst heard some familiar voices. He poked his head out of the foal buggy and saw two familiar looking ponies. Eyeing the two he shouted! “Mama?! Dada?!”
Twilight turned and saw Sunburst’s parents still arguing with each other. She glared at them and sighed. “They probably foalnapped Shining. Should've known. I guess they didn’t learn their lesson the first time,” She charged at them and shouted. “Stop right there, foalnappers!”
Sunburst’s parents turned towards Twilight, and gasped in horror! They tried to step back, nervously sweating, but Twilight got right into their faces and shouted. “Hold it right there! You two have some explaining to do!”
They both stopped and gulped as Twilight asked. “Prince Shining got turned into a foal and has disappeared. I know that you two turned Sunburst into a foal, so I need to know something: Did you have anything to do with my brother’s disappearance? You better not lie to me.”
The two shook their heads as Sunburst’s mom said in response. “No, we had nothing to with Shining’s disappearance. We just found him as a foal, honest.”
Sunburst’s dad continued. “Sadly though, we lost him. And we have no idea where he is.” Mrs. Sunburst glared at her husband who just shrugged.
Meanwhile, Twilight looked around and realized that this was another foal’s birthday party. This one had balloons and older colts and fillies running about. Starlight came up to Twilight while pushing the foal buggy and asked. “So find out anything of use?”
Twilight glared at Sunburst’s parents for a moment, making them sweat more, before she turning to Starlight and told her. “Well, no leads on Shining’s location. But from what these two told me, he could be around here somewhere, seeing as they found him as a foal before he disappeared on them,” Twilight turned to Sunburst’s parents and apologized. “Sorry for accusing you, I've been really stressed out. I guess I should’ve known you’d have no reason to foalnap Shining. But can you two help us find him, please? We could really use the help, it’s important that we find Shining as quickly as possible.”
Sunburst’s mom was unsure and was going to say something. But her husband quickly responded. “Of course, we would love to help find Shining.”
Then they looked over at Starlight and smiled at her, who blushed as she came up and said to them. “Hey Sunswirl, Sunspot. Been awhile.”
Sunspot came up and said to Starlight. “It's good to see you, Starlight. How’s our little Sunny Bunny doing?” He then came over to the buggy and looked down at Sunburst who blushed and pulled the foal blanket over his face. Sunspot dawwed and tickled Sunburst’s belly, making him giggle.
Sunswirl came up right behind her husband to admire her son, before Twilight coughed loudly and all the ponies stared at her as she explained, “Look, I hate to be rude, but we really need to find Shining. Every passing second means it’ll be harder to do that.” The adults all nodded, and soon the four adult ponies and the two foals, were looking all over the party for the lost prince.
As they were going down the road, Sunburst popped up, saw the birthday clown and started to bounce up and down excitedly as he shouted, “Look is ta cwown fwom Shining’s biwthday! He might know where Shiny is!” Flurry nodded in agreement and the two jumped out of the stroller and waddled into the crowd. They both were now with the rest of foals as Sunburst told Flurry. “We nee to get his attention and ask if he knows whewe Shining is. Any ideas?”
Flurry turned to a cake and suggested. “We can make a pictuwe using the cake!”
Sunburst eyed Flurry and asked. “Fwuwwy, tat sounds wike a good idea, bu awe ya suwe? We might get in mowe twobwe.”
Flurry Heart exclaimed, “It doesn matta! We gots ta find Daddy, even if we get spankies. It’s wike he said ‘Sometimes a baby’s gotta do what a baby’s gotta do’!”
Sunburst smiled and nodded. “Otay, ya wight, wets do it!”
Flurry Heart flew Sunburst up to the cake and the two started to smash the cake, starting to form it into a sculpture. Sunburst giggled as he chuckled. “Tis is wike making a snowmawe.”
Flurry gasped. “Wai, ya made snowmawes befowe?! Mommy and Daddy neva wet me go see the snow.”
Sunburst babbled. “Is dangewous outside, ya gotta get aww bundwed up if ya wanna pway in the snow. Bu when I become a gwown up again, I cowd bwing some to wet ya pway.”
Flurry giggled. “Yeah, that sounds gweat! Hopefuwy Mommy and Daddy wets ya do tat.”
The foals continued forming and smearing their hooves in the cake, until they made a picture of a white foal in a big diaper. The two foals then looked up at their creation, as the clown turned, saw what the foals did to the cake and his mouth dropped open! The other foals all turned to what he was staring at. Flurry blushed as they all laughed, seeing the cake sculpture of a foal. The clown eyed it and asked. “Who's this supposed to be?”
Sunburst pointed to the sun hitting one of the houses as one of the moms whispered. “That foal looks a lot like Sunburst.”
The clown gasped and laughed outloud. This brought the attention of Twilight, Starlight, and Sunburst’s parents. They all came over as Twilight picked up Flurry Heart and started cleaning her up, while Starlight got Sunburst and did the same. Twilight turned over with a blush as she apologized. “I am so sorry. We were busy looking for Shining, and we got distracted.”
Laughing Rump shook his head. “It’s fine, Princess Twilight. Looks like these two are inspiring modern artists if you ask me.”
Starlight giggled. “They are, aren't they? I mean Flurry Heart sprays the walls all the time with mashed peas, and Sunburst here loves to draw.”
Twilight groaned a bit. “Okay, we get it, they're cute. Now Laughing Rump, um...I don't know if you know this, but Shining has gone missing. Have you seen him around here?” She inquired of him.
Laughing Rump pondered for a second before lighting up. “Well Shining was here. I think Pumice’s mother took her son and the prince down the road near the Crystal Playplace.”
Starlight smiled. “The Crystal Playplace?! That's wonderful! I'm sure we can catch up from there!”
Twilight nodded in agreement as she got behind the foal buggy, “Right, let's get moving! Thanks for your help, Laughing Rump!” She pushed the foal buggy down the road with Sunburst’s parents and Starlight following close behind.
Pumice’s mom was now near the Crystal Playplace. Shining was trying to hide under his blanket, but ponies constantly came by and leaned in to to take a peek at him. They cooed and pinched his cheeks. Some mares checked his diaper, and one old mare even gave him a rattle. He just sat there and endured the embarrassment as best he could.
Upon entering Crystal Playplace, the caretaker came up and cooed. “Oh, is that Prince Shiny?!” She then picked him up and hugged him as she asked. “What are you doing out here?”
Pumice’s mom cooed and told the caretaker. “I found him wandering about. Looks like these foals just love to explore.”
The caretaker blushed as she replied. “Well, I'm glad he found you,” She then turned and asked Shining. “I need to ask you a favor, Shiny. The foals here adore your diaper dance and they’ve all been doing their own. And I would bet they would love to see yours. I promise no big ponies will be around, and I'll never tell a soul,” Shining shook his head at and pouted. The caretaker sighed. “Alright, you can have it your way. I know it's embarrassing. Still, the foals would have loved it.”
Shining groaned as he chewed on his hoof and reluctantly nodded, he was still technically a prince, and a prince was usually obligated to fulfill the wishes of his subjects. The caretaker squealed and Pumice’s mom giggled. “Oh, could Pumice come see? He wouldn’t want to miss this.”
The Caretaker nodded and said with a smile. “Of course he can.” Pumice’s mom took her son out of the carrier, as the caretaker took Shining inside the nursery, and set him down in the middle of all the foals, who all gawked at him.
They all giggled and clapped as Shining blushed and curled up. Pumice waddled over and hugged him as he whispered. “Ya can do it, Shiny. Just fowget abou beina a gwown up fow a bit and have fun. Ya nevew gonna get anothew chance wike tis.”
Shining reluctantly nodded as he got up, and started to bounce up and down. The other foals clapped and cheered as Shining began to get up and started to bounce about in his diaper. The other foals squealed in joy, while imitating him bouncing up and down. Shining suddenly felt something be poured inside him. He just continued to dance about, making his diaper crinkle and bounce, foal powder flying everywhere, causing him to realize someone must’ve poured a rather “generous” portion into his diaper while he wasn’t looking. He finished his dance by jumping right onto his padding, making the padding give off a wheezing sound, and causing foal powder to billow all around him. He was rewarded with squeals and laughter from the foals. And he sat there with a smile as he thought.“I know this is embarrassing, but I think I'm starting to enjoy being a foal, just a little. Sure beats that boring paperwork.”
Night Light and Twilight Velvet were enjoying the day, walking together through the Crystal Empire, and enjoying looking upon the tall crystal houses that lined the streets. Twilight Velvet leaned into her husband and sighed. “It's so beautiful here, it makes me kind of jealous of Shining.”
Night Light nuzzled his wife and whispered. “We could move here if you want. We’ll be right next to Cadence and Shining. And we could babysit Flurry Heart whenever we want.”
Twilight Velvet nodded. “Yeah, that would be nice,” Then she frowned a bit as she started thinking of what leaving Canterlot would involve. “But our current house has so many memories. It’s the house Shining and Twilight grew up in, and the house where we met Cadence and Spike.”
Night Light gave a slight smile as he reflected and mumbled, “It does have a lot of memories. But we can make new ones here caring for our granddaughter, if we decide to move that is.”
Velvet turned to her husband and asked. “But do you really think we can afford to live here? I don't even know if a house is available, or what it goes for.”
Night Light scoffed, “Honey our son and daughter are royalty now. We can move wherever we want. It might even better to be live here, we wouldn’t have to put up with the pesky nobility or ponies trying to conduct interviews with the parents of Equestria’s youngest members of royalty. Heck, if Twilight has foals one day, we could move closer to her too. Let’s not forget that amazing crystal castle she lives in.”
“Honey, it sounds nice. It really does,” Velvet replied. “But we should give it more thought before we make these kinds of decisions. I’ve still got a lot of Twilight and Shining’s old foal stuff, and you know how many memories they bring back.”
Night Light stopped pressing the issue and chuckled. ”Speaking of memories, seeing Shining as a foal brings back fond memories of those days of him crawling around the house. I can remember when we first taught him about the toilet, and he clocked it up by flushing a bunch of stuff down it, including Brutus Force and his diaper.”
Velvet blushed as she whispered. “Yes, I remember that experience quite well. It’s a good thing we learned our lesson with Twilight. And it's so surreal changing Shining’s diapers again, I don’t think I did a day past his fourth birthday. I was even tempted to breastfeed him again.”
Night Light gave a light chuckle as he said to his wife, “I think we embarrassed him enough with the presents and his diaper dance. But that would be cute if you did do it. Perhaps if you did it in private he wouldn’t mind.”
Velvet turned her head away as she whispered, “Oh, I don't know. Maybe if he wants to, and if Cadence will let me. Besides, I’d have to get some of those special pills, because I don’t think I can remember the spell used in place of them.”
Night Light couldn’t help but chuckle as he nuzzled his wife’s mane, it was amazing what seeing your oldest son as a baby again could do for the mind.
The two soon came upon the Crystal Playplace, where they heard. “Oh Shiny, you’re all stinky, huh?”
The two stopped and turned towards the building as Velvet whispered, “Did you hear that? Please tell me you did and I’m not going crazy.”
Night Light slowly nodded his head. The two entered the daycare and looked around, what they saw made their eyes grow wide. Shining Armor was on a changing table as his diaper was being changed by the caretaker. She was nuzzling Shining, as he giggled and flailed his tiny limbs. Twilight Velvet and Night Light watched as the diaper was taped up around Shining Armor. The caretaker turned and smiled at the two parents as she asked. “Oh, you two must be Shiny’s parents, huh? I’ve heard about you,” The two nodded as she carried the foal over, “Well, it's such a honor to meet you. I’m Crystal Heart, the main caretaker here at the Crystal Playplace.”
They all shook hooves as Twilight Velvet asked, “Um, Crystal Heart? What is our son doing here? Did Twilight or Cadence drop him off?”
Crystal Heart shook her head, “Oh no, a mare came by with him and her son. He’s been having a wonderful time here. He’s really active with the other foals, though I think that’s partially because they all wanted to see his famous diaper dance. He had only one really soggy diaper though, and he just made a big poopie before you got here. He must have a big appetite if he can make such a huge mess.”
Velvet tried not to sicker, as she recalled in her mind. “This reminds me of all the times I would pick up Twilight or Shining at daycare back in Canterlot. They actually were the inspiration behind one of my novels about baby ponies who go on adventures with their imagination, as they try to make sense of the world around them. It was such a big seller, practically everypony told me it helped them see their foals in a new light.” She then said to Crystal Heart, “Well, he looks so happy to be all nice and clean. Thank you for taking care of my son.” She took her son and nuzzled him, as he babbled and played with her mane.
Velvet chuckled a bit as Night Light sighed and asked, “So, I’m guessing he went on a little escapade, huh?”
Crystal Heart nodded as Velvet turned to her husband and suggested, “Well, we could stay here awhile and wait for Twilight to come. Chances are she’s looking for him.”
Night Light shrugged, “I don’t mind, but um… if you want to do that thing you mentioned earlier. I can go get something, I think I saw a pharmacy nearby.”
Velvet’s face turned to a deep red, “Well, you could pick it up if you want. I’ll just play with little Shiny.”
Night Light laughed as Crystal Heart cooed, “Before you go, do you want to see his little dance? It’s so adorable.”
Velvet and Night Light both laughed out loud as Velvet nodded. “Of course. Come on, Shiny. Show Mommy and Daddy your diaper dance again.” She dropped him off with the rest of the foals.
They all stared at him eager to see his dance. Shining looked up at his mom. who nuzzled him. He blushed as he got up, and gurgled as he began to bounce around, making the foals giggle and his mom smile. “Well as long as it’s only her and dad, I don’t mind doing it again. At least this time I hopefully won’t mess myself.”He thought, relieved that he’d just been changed.
Meanwhile, Sunburst’s parents, Twilight, and Starlight Glimmer, were running down the streets of the Crystal Empire. They were in a frantic state by the time they reached the daycare! Twilight turned to Sunburst’s parents and shouted, “You two stay here!”
They both nodded, and the rest of the group burst through the doors! They gasped upon seeing Shining Armor still doing his adorable diaper dance in front of all the foals. They were all giggling and clapping, as Shining was bouncing around in glee. Crystal Heart came up to Twilight, who blushed and whispered “Is...is that really Shining?”
Crystal Heart giggled and whispered. “Yeah, he's been doing this nonstop for a few minutes now.”
Twilight’s eyes soon fell upon a white coated mare with a white and moderate purple mane, and a cutie mark of three blue stars. Twilight gasped upon recognizing her and shouted, “Mom?!”
Velvet turned to her daughter and laughed. “Oh hey sweetie, it's so nice to see you.”
Twilight came over to her mother and whispered, “Mom..is Shining okay? Is he hurt?”
Velvet shook her head, “Oh no,he’s been taken care of quite well here. I'm really impressed with this daycare, I would even say it's better than the one in Canterlot, and I used to leave you and Shining there a lot when you were very little.”
Twilight sighed in relief and sat with her mom, and watched Shining continue his dance.
Sunburst and Flurry Heart were also watching Shining’s dance, both of them surprised to see him do it so eagerly (when he’d taught them how to do it, he’d been rather reluctant).
Flurry then whispered to Sunburst, “I dun tink he noticed us yet. Da you tink he has?”
Sunburst shook his head. “Nope, I tink that he’s weawwy enjoying himsewf.”
Then Flurry asked Sunburst with a smirk, “Wana go up to him and pway?! I weaway wana pway with Daddy!”
Sunburst giggled and said, “Suwe, I tink it wowd be awot of fun. And I wun have to wowwy about wha he might do to me aftewwads.” The two once again got out of the foal buggy. They waddled over to Shining, who didn’t notice they were there until they pounced on him, making him squeal. He turned to see Sunburst and Flurry Heart both grinning at him. He blushed as he scrunched his diaper. “Wha ya doin hewe?”
Flurry smirked as she commented. “So, ya wike dancin in ya diapees, Daddy?”
Shining blushed even harder. “Na, I was jus showin ta otha foaws how ta do it. Dun you stawt doing it too though!”
Sunburst chuckled. “Weawwy? Ya suwe ya wewn’t havin a witwe bit of fun? Is okay if ya awe.”
Shining shook his head again, before Flurry Heart slowly crawled up to Shining and with a shout she hugged him close while crying. “I sowie, Daddy! I tuwned ya into a foaw!”
Shining blinked a few times before saying. “Weawwy, Fwuwwy?! Ya ta one who tuwned me into a foaw?! Why wouwd ya do tat?!”
Flurry Heart began to bawl. “I was wowwied, when ya got back fwom vacation ya wouwd go back to wowk. So I wanted ta pway with ya, and I tought if ya tunwed into a foaw one day it wouwd be fun. But ten I saw ya do ya diapee dance in fwont of ta gwon ups, and ya was sad. So I twied to tuwn ya back to a nowmaw pony, but ya dissapeawed. I weawwy sowie! I didn’t mean to cause aww of tis! I okay if you gonna teww Mommy on me and give me spankies.”
Shining thought for a second before tears filled his eyes. He then hugged Flurry close as he babbled, “Is oaty, is pawtiawwy my fauwt too. I sowie fow not pwayin with ya mowe. I pwmoice when I becomw a gwown-up, I gonna spend mowe time with ya. And I dun tink ya need to get spankies, just a time out with one of my bubbwe sheilds so ya can’t fwy ow use magic will suffice. As wiww getting wid of whatevevw ya used to tuwn me into a foaw and make me disappeaw! Tat stuff’s dangewous!”
Flurry smiled at her dad, with tears filling her eyes as she hugged him close. The adult ponies watched the adorable scene with motherly smiles.
Then suddenly, Night Light came in and shouted, “I got the special pills-” But the rest of his sentence was cut off, as all the ponies turned towards him. Night Light blushed and asked, “Sorry, did I just ruin the moment?”
Twilight was now pushing the foals back towards the palace, where a whole bunch of ponies were taking photos. Some asked questions like, “How long is Shining going to be a foal?”, “If you can’t find a cure, will he be your son?”, and even, “Are you going to remarry?”
Cadence cleared her throat, making all the ponies quiet down. She then proclaimed loudly for all to hear, “Now, I know all of you have many questions. As I have explained before, Shining Armor was turned into a foal. But we have contacted Princess Celestia, and she is making a cure. He will at most only be a foal for a week. Now I have other business to attend to, so please leave. And under no circumstances are you to repeat any of this to anypony, this stays within the boundries of the empire, no exceptions!”
The press started to ask questions again and taking photos as Twilight and Starlight pushed the foal buggy through the crowd, while Cadence confiscated the cameras and told the ponies “No pictures!”.
Twilight came up to Cadence, sensing her sister in law needed help. The frazzled pink coated alicorn smiled and helped Twilight and Starlight inside, using her wings to protect them from the photographers. As they came into the castle and Cadence slammed the doors with her magic, Twilight looked at the tired and frustrated Cadence and whispered, “I'm so sorry you had to go through all that.”
Cadence smiled at her sister in law and giggled, “It’s fine, Twilight. Now let’s get these cuties back to the nursery for some rest and relaxation.” They pushed the foals straight to Flurry’s room, unstrapped them from the stroller, and placed them on the floor, where they immediately began playing together.
Starlight smirked, ”It’s like they completely forgotten how much trouble they’ve caused.”
Cadence looked at the two mares, “Trouble? What happened?” She inquired.
Twilight sighed and explained, “Shining disappeared, some of the tracking powder I made to find Sunburst must of fallen onto him somehow. Because we found him with Sunburst’s parents, who made the powder. But he ran off on them before we got to them, and he ended up in the Crystal Playpalace.”
Cadence nodded as she realized, “That means the powder is still around here! But who made him disappear?”
The mares shrugged as Straight exclaimed, “Nopony was with us in the room, except Twilight, the foals, and I!”
Twilight turned to Starlight and asked, “You think some of the dust was lying around and it got on him?”
Cadence sighed, “We can’t know for sure, but I suggest we clean up Flurry’s nursery before we let them play. We don't need these cuties disappearing on us,” Then the door to the nursery slowly opened, and everypony turned to see both Twilight Velvet and Sunswirl come into the room, blushing. Cadence turned and smiled, “Oh, hello.”
Velvet immediately asked “Sunswirl and I have been talking. And we thought, since you want to clean up Flurry’s room… why don’t we take the foals and nurse them?”
Cadence, Twilight and Starlight all blinked a few times, as Twilight giggled, “Mom, you really want to nurse Shining?”
Sunswirl sighed and apologized, “Look, this is all my fault, if you think about it. If I hadn’t tried to turn Sunburst into a colt, Shining probably wouldn’t be a foal, and you wouldn't be dealing with all of this stress. So if you say no…”
But Cadence interrupted with a laugh and exclaimed, “Of course you can, you're their moms! I have a better idea, we can all do it together.”
Twilight nodded and commented, “Right, Starlight and I can clean while you three are ...um, yeah.” She and Starlight had queasy smiles, as the moms took the foals in their magic, placed them on their backs, and walked out of the room.
After the feeding, Velvet came back to the nursery and looked upon the room with astonishment on how clean it was. Twilight and Starlight looked up from scrubbing the changing table with smiles as Twilight asked with a blush, “Hey, how was it?”
Velvet giggled and explained with a motherly smile, “Oh, it was just wonderful. But I think these three are quite full.” she then placed the foals back onto the nursery’s floor. They all fell on the ground, all bloated with their mom’s milk.
Flurry belched as she whispered, “I wish Mommy fed me her milikes mowe often, tey taste betta ten ta fowmuwa.”
Shining nodded as he patted his tummy, “Yeah, tat was ta best ting I eva had!”
Then Sunburst spotted the teddy bear with the vials peeking out and gasped, as he turned to Flurry and said to her. “Fwuwwy ya gots to show ya daddy, wha ya showed me!”
Flurry sighed and mumbled, “Wight, wets go, Daddy. I’w show ya ta cuwe and ta wegwession powda,” Flurry lead Shining to the teddy bear where she had stored the potions, she opened the back, revealing two vials, as Shining gasped upon seeing them! Flurry whispered, “So Daddy, ya wana tuwn back to a gwown up?”
Shining looked up at the mares all talking to each other as he said to Flurry. “Yeah, wooks wike I gotta tuwn back to a big pony. Ya mommy can’t do evewythin on hew own.”
Sunburst whimpered. “I sowie fow beain a meanie. I gonna miss ya, Shiny. I gonna stay a foaw fow at west a wittwe whiwe wonger. Pwobawby tiww Twiwight and Starwight weave and my pawents can spend time with me as a foaw. I dun tink I wanna go thwough potty twaining again.”
Shining hugged Sunburst close as he cooed. “I gonna miss ya too, Sunnybuwst. Sowwy fow aww the times I thweatend to fwush ya down the toiwet,” He kissed Sunburst on the head. Then he turned to Flurry Heart and hugged her close, as she hugged him back and kissed him while she whimpered. “I gonna miss ya, Daddy.”
Shining whispered. “Dun ya wowwie, Fwuwwy. When I gwow up, I pwomice I gonna pway with ya mowe. Maybe I’ww even wet ya have Bwutus Fowce if ya pwomice not to pway too wough with him.”
Flurry choked up and hugged Shining one more time. Shining held her close and kissed her, then he took the vials and waddled to Twilight and Starlight Glimmer.
Twilight turned and gasped upon seeing the vials, and shouted, “Shining, where did you find those?!”
Shining started babbling, pointing to the teddy bear, and then started to bounce up and down, making the mares laugh. Twilight sighed, “I better change Shining back now.”
Velvet whispered and asked, “Like right now? I mean…”
Twilight turned and whispered, “Mom, I have to change him back. The Crystal Empire needs its prince, and he certainly can’t be that if nopony can understand a word he’s saying.”
Velvet went up to her son, quickly took him up in her embrace, and smothered him in kisses. “Oh, I’m going to miss you being a foal. But I guess it was nice while it lasted.” Twilight and Starlight just giggled and watched, as Velvet gave Shining’s padded rump a few pats, before placing him on the ground.
Twilight’s then lifted one of the vials and poured the powder onto Shining. He began to glow and he instantly started to grow big! He was now his normal self, standing in Flurry’s nursery. He blushed as he asked, “Twilight? Starlight? Mom?” They all went up to Shining and gave him a hug. He laughed and hugged them back. After they broke off he sighed, “It’s so great to see you all...while not being foal.”
Twilight nodded and whispered, “Yeah, it's great seeing you out of diapers, you big stinker.”
Shining blushed as he turned to Flurry Heart and Sunburst. He smiled, came up to the two and nuzzled them. They hugged his face as he cooed, “Oh, I’m going to miss our little adventures. I forgot how different the world was to foals.”
Then Shining heard, “Shining, is that really you?!” He turned to see his wife at the door. He teared up and ran to her, and gave her a long kiss while he hugged her close. He then apologized. “I’m so sorry for what I put you through! I know you weren’t prepared to have two padded trouble makers to take care of”
Cadence kissed Shining, then cooed, “You were such a naughty foal, but you also were very adorable. But I have to ask, where did you find the vials?”
Shinin turned towards Flurry Heart who hid her face with her hooves as he explained, “I found them underneath a teddy bear. Flurry Heart was the one who turned me into a foal. I got it straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak.”
All the mares gasped as Twilight asked, “Flurry Heart? But why?”
Shining looked at Cadence as he explained. “She said she just wanted to play with me, she thought the powder wouldn’t last that long. I was thinking a time out in one of my no flying and no magic bubbles would suffice, once we’ve disposed of those vials and their contents of course.”
Cadence laughed out loud, “And all this time we thought Chrysalis did it!”
Shining smirked, “Yeah I thought it was the clown, Laughing Rump. Sure am glad he didn’t get upset about being attacked by foals.”
All the mares laughed again. Cadence came up to Flurry who was whimpering. She picked her up and cooed, “Well Flurry, I trust you’ll learn your lesson when Daddy and I put you in time out. You better not turn ponies into foals ever again, that was a very naughty thing to do. Even more than getting chocolate covered hoofprints on the carpet. Do you understand?” Flurry Heart nodded as Cadence snuggled her.
Twilight nodded as she said to all in the room. “I'll dispose of the regression powder, and save the rest of the cure. Sunburst still has about four more days of being a foal. Maybe a few more if his parents want to spend time with him. But he’ll be out of diapers and back to being that big, important wizard by the end of the month,” Sunburst squealed and clapped his hooves. Twilight giggled and left the room as she started shouting. “Spike! I need you to send a letter!”
Cadence then turned to the foals and cooed, “Now Shiny, we can talk about your little adventure later. I need to put these cuties to bed.” She then picked up Sunburst and carried him and Flurry Heart to the crib.
But Velvet asked. “Um, Cadence, would it be alright if Starlight and I finish putting the foals to bed for you? It sounds like you and Shining have something important to discuss.”
Cadence smiled. “Of course. Besides. Shining and I have so much to talk about.” She skipped out of the room, as Shining went up to his mom and kissed her as he whispered. “Thanks for being my mom again for a bit, and thanks for Brutus Force. I never imagined I’d miss him so much.”
Velvet placed the doll onto Shining’s back and cooed at her son. “No problem. Now go on and talk to your wife. I can handle these little troublemakers.”
Shining looked back at his mom one last time, before trotting off towards the master bedroom.
Shining was with Cadence that night in their master bedroom. Shining was sitting on their bed after finishing his entire story of what happened while he was a foal. He could only ponder mentally. “I really hope I didn't put Cadence through too much stress. From what she told me, it seems I caused a lot of problems. Stupid diaper dance, everypony in the Crystal Empire probably knows about it now.”
As Cadence came in from the bathroom, she sat by her husband and hugged him close as she cooed, “So, besides the diaper dance, did you enjoy being a foal?”
Shining smirked as he looked up, “Yeah, I guess I did. It was interesting to really get to know our daughter. She’s so imaginative, smart and creative. All those messes and disasters she creates, it really is just her exploring. Shouldn’t have surprised me though.”
Cadence laughed, “I guess you were the same way, huh? What with you trying to use the toilet and writing those notes.”
Shining looked up and sighed, “Yeah, and I got jealous of Sunburst, and kept threatening to flush him down the toilet. I think I might still be a bit jealous, but I’m glad I turned back to normal when I did. I like not having to make messes in diapers, never thought I’d be so glad to be potty trained.”
Cadence kissed her husband again and whispered. “Well, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. But I'm more happy that you're back to normal. It’s nice to have an extra pair of hooves to take care of our little rugrat.”
Shining nuzzled Cadence as he whispered, “Me too, but…”
Cadence eyed him, “But what?”
Shining paused for a bit, before he proposed, “I think the two us of should try turning into foals and playing with Flurry once in awhile. Could be a good experience for us as parents, and Flurry Heart. I’m sure we can find a temporary age spell that’ll do the trick.”
Cadence pondered this a bit before she happily replied, ”Sure. Maybe we can set up a few days and have one of us turn into a foal to play with Flurry. But the first time we do it, it’s my turn.”
Shining crossed his hooves, “No fair,” This made Cadence daww, and Shining blushed at what he’d just said, prompting him to give a nervous chuckle. “I mean sure, that’s fine with me. Just give me a few weeks of notice. We should also think about getting a training potty, so we don’t exhaust Flurry Heart’s diaper supply, and so we can start getting her used to the idea of using the potty when she’s old enough for potty training.”
Cadence gave Shining a motherly smile then she kissed him one more time, before they both got into bed and under the sheets.
