Another set of short stories that take place in the same universe as my previous stories.
I noticed that the last set of short stories weren't getting much attention anymore, even when I uploaded a new short story, so I decided to discontinue it and put any new short stories here instead. Like the last set of short stories, the cover art was made with Project 64 and one of my various color codes.
Stories will be added as ideas come to me.
Super Mario 128/Too Many Marios/I Think I'm a Clone Now
A soft snoring noise can be heard coming from a small house with a red roof and green door as Mario is resting from his recent escapade to rescue Princess Peach.
"Ah, spaghetti.' Mario says as he starts to talk in his sleep. "Ah, ravioli." He says before he snores again. "Ah, Mama Mia." He says just as a sharp knock on the door startles him out of his slumber.
"Let's go!" He says as he punches in an delirious attempt to defend himself from the non-existent threat before he hears someone knock on the door again.
"Coming!" Mario says with his usual Italian accent as he runs for the door, careful to avoid the flip panel that leads to Luigi's "secret" basement. He arrives at the door and opens it, surprised to see Twilight at the door with another Twilight, this one without glasses, by her side.
"Oh, hey-a Twilight! And uh, other Twilight?" Mario says confused as to how there could be two of them here. "What-a are you-a doing here?"
"We heard that you might know what it's like," the Twilights say unanimously.
"I might-a know what what's-a like?" Mario asks as he steps out of the house so he won't disturb Luigi.
"Having two of you." Princess Twilight explains before Sci-Twi starts to tell Mario about the other universe that connects to the other side of the Wondercolt statue. She explains to Mario that it's a universe of ponies and that the Twilight standing next to her is a princess there. Mario stops her as realization dawns on him.
"Is it anything like-a the Paper Mushroom Kingdom?" Mario asks as he walks down the small staircase and passes the blue and white mailbox as he leads the Twilights to a pipe at the edge of the clearing.
"The what?" Sci-Twi asks Mario as Princess Twilight enters the pipe and Mario moves to enter the pipe.
"The Paper Mushroom Kingdom. Luigi once happened to-a knock over a book in-a the castle that contained an entire paper version of the Mushroom Kingdom, down to the inhabitants." Mario says as he and Sci-Twi move through the pipe with Princess Twilight. "If I can, I'll try-a to bring Paper Mario out of the book to meet you," Mario says as he leads the group to the pipe that connects to the Princess's Castle. Upon exiting the pipe, Mario leads the group to the castle entrance and unlocks the door with a key. He then proceeds to lead them up three flights of stairs, opening several doors in the process, and leads them to a set of stairs that he jumped up and pulled them down by grabbing a little rope that was attached to the bottom step before he leads them up the stairs and enters the attic.
"This is-a where Luigi found the book," Mario says as he walks over to a bookshelf and pulls out a red book with a red mushroom on the cover and opens it. "Hello? Paper Mario? I have some friends who'd-a like to meet you." Mario says before a paper-thin version of himself emerges from the book. Upon touching the ground, Paper Mario looks around and notices Princess Twilight. Upon seeing her, he gets up and waves.
"Paper Mario doesn't seem to-a be able to speak," Mario says as Paper Mario nods his confirmation as he looks towards Mario and sees Sci-Twi standing behind Mario. He quickly looks back over at Princess Twilight, then back to Sci-Twi, before he jumps back with a startled expression on his face.
"Relax, Paper Mario," Mario says, attempting to calm his Paper self down. "They're like-a you and me, two versions of the same being from different universes." Paper Mario puts his hand upon his chin as he considers what Mario said, before he nods and gives a thumbs up. He turns to Sci-Twi and offers her his hand in greeting. Sci-Twi reaches over and shakes his hand, surprised that someone made of paper could actually shake hands without their hand getting crumpled up. After he finishes shaking Sci-Twi's hand, he turns to Princess Twilight and bows to her. Princess Twilight curtsies back, uncomfortable with the formality of the situation.
"Uh, Mario? Why did Paper Mario shake my hand, but bowed to my Equestrian counterpart?" Sci-Twi asks, confused.
"Well, it would appear that Paper Mario noticed-a something regal about her." Mario says as his Paper self nods vigorously in confirmation.
"Okay, but how would he be able to-" Sci-Twi starts to ask before Mario cuts her off with a stern glance. "What?"
"Like me, Paper Mario has to-a rescue Paper Princess Peach from-a being kidnapped once every other week." Mario says, explaining as he pulls out a Hammer and leans on it. "So, like-a me, he has become fairly observant, noticing things that-a most people don't. Things that have prevented many a kidnapping."
Princess Twilight interrupts Mario. "So, Paper Mario noticed something about me?"
Paper Mario nods as Mario starts to speak. "I know he-a did. Because I-a noticed it, too. There's a special energy flowing in-a you that's non-existent in-a your human counterpart." Mario says as the book that Paper Mario emerged from starts to shake. Paper Mario gets a shocked expression on his face, runs over to the book, and opens it. He looks back at the group and salutes before he jumps into the book, which closes behind him.
"Well it looks like-a duty calls," Mario comments as he turns to leave the attic, and the Twilight's follow suit. "Speaking of which, Luigi and I just finished ours, so I can accompany you around the kingdom as long as you want me to." Mario says after they exit the castle.
"That's okay, Mario." Sci-Twi says as she turns to look at her counterpart.
"Yeah, I'm going to be needing to return to Equestria soon anyways." Princess Twilight says as the group starts heading to a Warp Pipe that would lead the Twilights back to Canterlot High. "Like you said, duty calls." Princess Twilight says as she enters the pipe.
"Thanks for introducing us to your counterpart, Mario." Sci-Twi says as she steps onto the edge of the pipe.
"You're welcome, Twilight!" Mario says as he starts waving. "Maybe next time, I can introduce you two to one of my other counterparts."
"I'd like that," Sci-Twi says before she enters the pipe and disappears from the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario then turns to go home, covering his mouth as he yawns.
"This was an amazing idea, Fluttershy." Rainbow says as she tosses a suitcase onto a bed.
"I have to agree with Rainbow, dear." Rarity says as a bell hop enters the room pulling a luggage cart through the doorway.
"It's nice tah get away from all of the magic business for a little while." Applejack says as she hangs her Stetson on a hook by the door.
"Yep!" Fluttershy says, smiling. "That's why I asked Luigi if we could come here." Flutershy sits down on one of the beds. "According to Pinkie, Pi'illo Island is a sleepy, peaceful location with no magic whatsoever."
"Until now."
"Twilight, please tell me you didn't bring your pendant!"
"And you didn't, Sunset?"
"I thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to. I don't want to accidentally read the minds of the islanders."
"Okay, but seriously?" Twilight says as she turns t look at the others. "No one else thought to bring their medallions?"
Everyone looks at Rainbow before she sighs and pulls her pendant out of her pocket at the same time that Fluttershy pulls hers out of her luggage and Rarity pulls hers out of her shirt.
"Okay, it doesn't surprise me that Rainbow brought hers, but why did Fluttershy and Rarity bring theirs?"
"Oh, I never take it off, dear." Rarity says to Sunset as Sunset rolls her eyes and Fluttershy blushes and puts her pendant on.
"Pinkie told me about all of the creatures that inhabit this place. I wanted to be able to talk to them, especially the Yoshis." Fluttershy says, squealing at the thought of talking to the friendly dinosaurs.
"Okay so now that's out of the way," Rainbow says as she starts to head for the door.
"And where do ya think you're going, Rainbow?" Applejack asks as she steps in front of the door.
"I'm going to the Battle Ring." Rainbow says as she reaches for a pillow. "Fighting against powerful foes in my sleep is my kid of pastime." Rainbow attempts to slip out of the room, but is quickly stopped by a firm hand gripping her arm.
"Okay, but no getting in trouble, and obey the rules!" Rainbow attempts to roll her eyes at this but stops upon seeing the stern look on Applejack's face. "Ah mean it! Don't forget about what happened at Hotel Defino!"
Rainbow groans. "I know! I disobeyed Mario and gambled underage! I didn't know that the Pianta would have given Mario such a severe punishment because of that." She says, remembering that Mario had been forced to pay 10000 coins and work in the casino for a year.
Applejack sighs as Rarity slips out to examine the furnishing of the castle. "Fine!" Applejack says as she lets go of her arm and Rainbow quickly runs towards one of the rooms in the castle. "Just don't do anything that would get ya or Mario in trouble!" Applejack yells after her as Twilight pulls out a complex looking piece of scientific equipment.
"OOHH! What's that for?" Pinkie asks as Twilight puts it beside her bed.
"It measures sleep related activity." Twilight says. "It's to see what those strange occurrences you mentioned would look like scientifically." Twilight says before she, Sunset, and Pinkie go out to find things to do. This left Fluttershy and Applejack, who was going to rest for a bit, in the room before Fluttershy leaves to find a Yoshi.

"How did I get here?" Fluttershy says looking around seeing that she appears to be in a young child's bedroom. She eventually hears a groaning noise and sees that Rainbow is attempting to sit up from her position on the bed. Fluttershy walks over and helps her up, seeing a plushy that resembles a golden bear.
'Oh my! How'd we wind up in this mess?' Fluttershy thinks to herself as she realizes where they are. She turns and looks towards one of the entrances as she hears breathing. She runs over to the door, surprising Rainbow, until she hears a familiar laugh. Recognizing her peril, Rainbow runs over and slams the other door closed. The two look at each other in relief, until they hear laughing from behind them. They turn and see a giant robotic bear head on the bed. The girls attempt to find something to defend themselves with, but can find nothing. Evetually a giant robotic bear attempts to attack them as they see a pair of boots land on the robots head. The girls look up and see that a mustachioed man dressed in overalls and a green shirt and hat jump off of the animatronic. As soon as the man's feet touch the ground one of the doors is slammed open and a familiar face enters the room.
"Mario? What are you doing here?" Fluttershy says as Mario approaches the girls.
"We-a thought you could use-a some help!" Mario says as he turns and jumps at Nightmare Fredbear.
"How could you help us?" Rainbow asks confused.
"Well, we are-a the Dream Team." Mario says as he turns to the man in green. "Dreamy Luigi, we need Luigination!"
"Okay!" Dreamy Luigi says as he begins to spiral into Mario, giving Mario a green aura. Mario runs away from Nightmare Fredbear as the house starts to fade. Dreamy Luigi jumps out of Mario as a bunch of Luiginoids appear, forming a ball as a line of Luigis appear before them. Mario jumps onto the ball and starts rolling over the Luiginoids, making the ball bigger in the process. He continues this until he gets close to his target when he kicks the ball at Nightmare Fredbear, bowling over the foe. This enraged Fredbear runs forward and plows over Mario as the green aura reforms over Mario, knocking Dreamy Luigi out of him as Mario is launched away from the girls. He lands on his side as Nightmare Fredbear starts to approach the girls. Dreamy Luigi looking smug, reaches down and offers Mario his hand. Mario, realizing what Dreamy Luigi is planning on doing, reaches up and grips his hand. Almost instantly, Luiginoids start to combine with Dreamy Luigi as Dreamy Luigi starts to grow to a gigantic size. After he finishes growing Mario leaps up his body until he's gripping the top of Luigi's cap as Luig pulls out a giant hammer and wallops Nightmare Fredbear away from the girls with it. Before he can get up, Luigi runs forward and jumps as Mario leaps off of his hat and starts to spin in midair before he plunges onto Luigi, causing a powerful drilling stomp on the foe. They repeat this two more times before a pillow emerges from Mario.
"It is time!" The pillow yells as Luigi nods and crouches before he leaps into the sky. The girls look in awe as Luigi disappears in the sky before a gigantic star appears a few moments later, careening towards the golden bear. The star collides flying through the animatronic before it explodes causing a bunch of stars to fly out of him as it disappear from view as Luigi lands on his feet. Shortly afterward, Luiginoids burst forth from Luigi as Mario approaches the girls.
"It's time to wake up." Mario says as he and Luigi walks out the door, followed by the girls, where they can see a multi-hued cloud. Mario leaps into the cloud and travels through it as Dreamy Luigi waves and the view before the girls starts to fade.

Fluttershy woke up in a cold sweet. She looked over and noticed that Rainbow was awake as well, and she appeared to be breathing heavily.
"Rainbow?" Fluttershy asks as she gets out of bed before she trips over someone lying on the floor. She gets up and sees Luigi sleeping with his head on an orange pillow. She gets up and dusts herself off as she walks over to Rainbow's bed. "Rainbow? Are you alright?" Fluttershy says as she notices tear stains on Rainbow's face.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Rainbow says as she gets out of bed. "I just had a bad dream is all."
"Nightmare Fredbear?"
"Yeah. How did you know?"
"I had the same dream, and Luigi is sleeping by my bed." Fluttershy says as a multi-hued cloud appears above Luigi's head and Mario emerges from it.
"Ah, glad to see-a you're awake!" Mario says as Luigi snaps awake and gets up before the pillow gets up and reveals itself to be Prince Dreambert.
"Yeah, because there's no knowing what would happen if you had stayed asleep." Luigi says before Prince Dreambert brings up the topic of Dreamy Pi'illo Island.
"As Mario knows, Dreamy Pi'illo Island is just as real as the real world. Any injury you receive there will appear here." Prince Dreambert says, finishing his explanation.
"And there's no knowing what else would have appeared if you stayed asleep, seeing as you control your dreams and, given the locale, it would be likely that more Nightmare Animatronics would have appeared, and since we wouldn't have been there to help you . . . " Mario says trailing off.
Fluttershy blushes as she thanks Mario. Rainbow walks over and shakes Luigi's hand before she asks Mario to keep what happened a secret. Mario promises to do so before the door is busted in and Mario is tackled to the ground, which causes the rest of the girls to wake up. Upon waking up, Applejack notices that Mario has been tackled to the ground before she looks over at Rainbow angrily.
Mario enters the door to the courtroom and sighs as he sees the girls there. He knows that one of them is responsible for him being here, but he doesn't know what it is. He looks at Rainbow as he remembers what happened in the past. First, Rainbow gambled when they stayed at Hotel Delfino. Then she participated at the Battle Ring and placed a bet on herself after she had convinced him allowed her to fight, once again gambling under age. Now Maro can only assume the worst, seeing as he had been brought to Rogueport after he was ruthlessly arrested at his home near Toad Town. Mario remembers that Rogueport is notorious for being a town of criminals, and just hopes that no one died.
"So, what-a happened this time?" Mario asks as he walks up to the girls.
"You remember how we were going to go to Poshley Hights?" Applejack asks Mario. Mario nods his confirmation before she continued. "Well, when we got to the train, we found out that Rainbow wasn't with us." Applejack says as Rainbow starts to slump in her seat. Mario stops Applejack before she could continue.
"Let-a me guess, you found her in the Pianta Parlor." Mario says certain he knew that she went to the local casino.
"No, we found her at Westside Goods." Twilight says as Mario cringes.
"Please-a tell me she didn't buy a Dried Shroom and a Dizzy Dial." Mario asks as the girls look at each other before Rainbow nods her confirmation.
"Oh, this is not-a good," Mario says as he puts his face in his hands.
"I'm sorry, Mario! I didn't know it was the password to meet a mob boss!" Rainbow says, knowing she's really screwed up this time.
"It's-a okay, Rainbow. I'm sure the judge will be lenient." Mario says as the judge enters the room and starts the court session.

A hour later the girls leave the court house with Rainbow looking down in shame.
"Well, I hope your happy, Rainbow!" Pinkie says glaring. "Now Mario has to enter the Pit of 100 Trials! That's practically a death trap!" Pinkie says as Rainbow starts to cry in shame.
"I'M SORRY! I never meant for this to happen! All I was doing was buying some souvenirs!" Rainbow says as she runs after Mario, who was being led to the sewers.
"Does anyone else get the feeling that Rainbow is going to follow Mario into the pit?" Sunset asks as the rest of the girls look at each other and nod before they run after Rainbow.

"My that was-a difficult!" Mario says as he emerges from a pipe and arrives in the hundredth floor before he hears a demonic roar come from the shadows. Mario turns and sees a creature that looks like a dragon emerge from the darkness. Upon closer inspection, though, Mario could tell that the dragon was nothing but a skeleton.
"Heh, you're-a kidding me, right? I could destroy this in-a my sleep." Mario says to himself before the dragon growls again and attempts to bite Mario. Mario jumps back, then leaps and stomps on Bonetail's head. This enrages the dragon before it breathes a blue colored mist from its mouth, which freezes Mario. Its then that another set of feet land on the ground as Rainbow arrives, who notices a frozen Mario about to be eaten by Bonetail.
"Hey!" She yells before she uses her super speed to snatch Mario away from Bonetail and quickly run around him to produce a thermal tornado around Mario, thawing the ice he had been encased in before Bonetail attempts to stomp on them. He was stopped though by Mario, who had been thoroughly thawed, using a Super Jump Punch on Bonetail's underside, which launches him into the sky as a stream of coins emerge from him. He lands on the ground a few moments later on his back before he coughs up a chest and stops moving. Mario walks over to the chest and opens it to see a purple badge shaped like a square with an arrow on it that approaches the left side of the badge before it bounces back to the right. Mario pulls it out and turns to Rainbow before he places the badge in her hand.
"I-a want you to have it." Mario says before he turns and sees a pipe that will take them back to the surface. "Now let's-a get out of here." Mario says as the two of them walk to the pipe.
"Quiet everyone! She's coming!" The pink skinned girl says to everyone as Rainbow turns off the lights and Pinkie pours some sprinkles into her hand.
"Hello?" Someone asks as they turn the lights on before Pinkie and the rest of the girls jump out yelling "Surprise!" as Pinkie throws the sprinkles in her hand, which explode like miniature fireworks.
"What's all this for?" Twilight asks as Applejack brings a cake into the room and Pinkie puts a party hat on Twilight's head.
"We wanted to celebrate your birthday, sugarcube." Applejack says as she puts the cake on the table, which had chocolate frosting with the words 'Happy Birthday, Twilight!' written in purple frosting, and starts to cut a slice for Twilight.
"You girls didn't have to go to all this!" Twilight says as she accepts the piece of cake and looks around noticing hundreds of purple and magenta colored streamers and balloons that had been placed around her humble home.
"It was Pinkie's idea, darling." Rarity says as Pinkie walks over to them with a cup of punch in her hands, which she hands to Twilight.
"Yeah, I wanted to make sure your birthday was super perfect!" Pinkie says as Twilight laughs.
"Girls, just being with you makes it perfect!" Twilight says smiling at the girls as the party truly begins.
"You said you wanted to talk to me?" Vice Principal Luna said as Pinkie entered her office.
"Sure do." Pinkie says as a mustachioed man follows her through the door.
"What's with the guy in the Mario costume?" Luna asks as Mario pulls over a chair and sits in it.
"Vice Principal Luna, I'd like you to meet Mario Mario fro the Mushroom Kingdom." Pinkie says as Luna stares at her skeptically before Pinkie continues. "You remember when you and Principal Celestia were possessed by Giygas?" Luna nods, realizing where this was going. "Well Ness told us that every world that appears in a video game exists within another universe. I figured that Mario would like to talk with you." Pinkie says as Luna begins to look uncomfortable while she does something on her computer.
"I already know-a." Mario says quickly, surprising the vice principal.
"You know what?"
"About the ROM-hacks." Mario says as he walks over to the other side of the desk. "You have-a nothing to be worried about. I'm okay with-a people making the hacks, although the Kaizo ones tend to upset me." Mario says noticing that she had up a folder with Lunar Magic in it. "But anyway, I'm here about Luna Magic." Mario says as he thinks back upon going through the levels. "I think you should keep hacking. Luna Magic proved to me that you have potential in it." Mario says as he turns to leave before he turns back suddenly. "Oh, and Luigi wanted to let you know that he feels lonely and wants to be played as once in a while." Mario says before he exits the room and Pinkie turns back to Luna.
"That was not what I expected," Pinkie says as she rubs at the back of her neck. "I thought Mario would have hated ROM-hacks as much as Nintendo does." Pinkie turns and leaves the room, leaving Luna alone with her thoughts before Celestia enters the room.
"What was that about Luna?"
"It was about my ROM-hacks, Tia." Celestia sighs before Luna continues. "Pinkie found out I made them a while back."
Celestia contemplates this before she ask Luna a question. "Who was with her?"
Luna sighs. "It was Mario himself." Luna says before she explains about the portal to the video game universe.
