Chapter One: First Impressions

It's been a while since Sugar Dream had a job, but know she needs more than ever.
She needed money to pay her bills and food. Badly.
After months of checking newspapers and talking with some friends, she was losing hope. She even tried the job center.
Manehattan was a great and beautiful city, always busy.
Unfortunately for Sugar that was going to be one those days, still searching for a job, in the end of day still nothing.
Feeling tired from trotting around, she decided to take a break, also a little hungry.
She ordered the waiter a glass of water and a chocolate muffin.

"This is so pointless, I won't be able to find a job in time."- she thought.
She only had a few days to pay her bills, if she couldn't...
"I never thought finding a job was going to be so hard."
The waiter came back with her request. Carefully, he placed the glass of water and the chocolate muffin on the table with his magic.
He went back inside after she paid.
Sugar placed a hoof on her forehead.
"Dear Celestia, please help me."- she continued deep in her thoughts.

Grabbing the muffin she took a few bites, she glanced on the other tables trying to find a newspaper or something.
By random luck, one of tables had a newspaper. Opening the newspaper in job section, she looked in high expectations.
Until Sugar raised her left eyebrow.

Help Wanted

Security guard needed to take care of restaurant. Night shift. 6 hours.
5 bits per hour.

She kept reading more until she found a phone number and a address.
A smile grew on her face. Using her right hoof, she grabbed and drank the water with one big sip. After that she picked the rest of the muffin and she ate it, actually, devoured.
Lifting from her seat, she trotted down the street hoping to find a phone booth.
Finally, after days and days of searching she had found one, but one question remained in her mind.
Minutes later, she was dialing the number.
The phone rang for a couple of seconds, until somepony finally answered. Sugar breathed softly.

"Hello? Hello?"- said the voice, definitely a stallion's voice.
She took a deep breath. This was her chance.
"Hey there!"

"How are you?"- the stallion asked.

"Fine, thanks for asking."

"How can I help you?"
Still holding the newspaper, she answered.
"Well, you see, I was looking for a job and then I found this one about being a security guard for a restaurant."
After a brief silence, he continued.
"I remember now, I posted myself. What's about it?"

"I was wondering if there was an opening for me?"- she asked with a hopefull tone in her voice. "You see, I really need this job."- she pleaded.
The stallion thought for a while.
"Sure, it's a simple job."

"D-Do I need any kind of skill for this job?"
He laughed.
"Actually, you don't. You only need to check the cameras, nothing else." Sugar sighed, this was the question she had in her mind.

"Great, when can I start?"

"How about tonight?"- he questioned.
Sugar lifted a hoof to her chin while tilting her head to the side.
"Sure, why not?"

"Alright, I'll be waiting for you in the restaurant security office."
After placing the phone down, she started jumping around from the deep happiness she was feeling until she noticed everypony was looking at her. She blushed, her reaction remembered her from certain pink mare she knew.
Calming herself, she decided to go back home to take some rest.

It was night time when she arrived at the restaurant. Perfect timing.
She noticed the establishment seemed to be pretty old. "Freddy Fazbear Pizza"
"I can do this!"- she thought.

While trotting through the dark hallways, she found some drawings, propably from young ponies. Good thing she actually thought about bringing a flashlight with her.
Before she made her way to the security office, Sugar decided explore the place to become accustomed.
The main room was big, having six rectangular tables with some party hats.
She turned her head around to see three animatronics standing still. One of them was a brown bear with a classy hat.
The other one was a yellow chicken holding a small pink cupcake. For some reason the cupcake had eyes.
Finally, the third member was purple bunny. Also holding something, a red and white guitar.

Trotting past them, she didn't noticed a strange pairs of eyes following her closely.
Shivers went through her spine. Almost like a bad feeling.
Shifting her gaze behind her, she stared at them.
"Nah, you silly."- she thought before continuing through the room.

She came across with a door saying "Service Parts - Only employees". She tried to open, but the door was shut tight.
Continuing her journey, she found Pirate's Cove. Unfortunately the board said "Out of Order".
Taking a sneak peek through the curtains, she saw what appeared to be a fox dressed as pirate. That made some sense.
The most strange thing, he seemed to be in a bad state, with several holes.

Now, sitting on the office chair, she grabbed a tablet. The tablet was connected to the cameras, showing some places she passed by.
Also, it showed the layout of the restaurant.
The place was really quiet, besides the sound of the fan.
Suddenly, the phone rang.
Sugar Dream almost fell from her chair. Quickly, she picked up the phone.

"Hello? Hello?"

"Hey again!"- she said with some relief.

"I'm sorry for not being there, but I got sick. Oh, by the way, my name is Purple Mystery ."

"Oh, don't worry, I'm fine, I'm Sugar Dream."- she told him. "I gave a little check through this place. Looks a really nice place to stay."
There was brief moment of silence.
"Yeah anyway your job, well basically is just check the cameras and see if everything is in place."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Like I said, it's a simple job. Doesn't require a lot to do."

"If you say so."- she said while smiling, but she had a certain feeling about all this.

"Alright, I guess that all for tonight, See ya in the flip side." With that said he ended the phone call, not even waiting for her reply.

"Okie!"- she said to herself. Looking to the clock, she saw it was already 3am. "This is going to be fun!"- she stated while grabbing the tablet.
Not even noticing a strange presence she continued with her job.
"Indeed!"- he spoke in a low voice while smiling.
This was going to be long night for sure.

A couple of minutes later.
"Maybe not..."- she regretted immediately. Sugar didn't really have nothing to do, besides using the cameras and drinking some coffee, which helped a lot against the sleepiness.
The restaurant was silent, only the fan was the only sound around to be heard.
She kept a close eye on the cameras while with her right hoof grabbed the cup of coffee.
"Nothing here!"
*Click*
"Nothing over here!"- she whispered, letting out a yawn.
*Click*
"Seems fine..."- she continued checking while taking a sip of coffee.
*Click*
"Everything's in place..."- Sugar raised an eyebrow. "Wait a second..." The camera was pointing towards the stage area.

Strangely, there was only two animatronics instead of three.
The brown bear and the yellow chicken are still in place. Sugar took small breaths, quickly switching cameras views.
*Click*
"I swear I saw at least three..."

The sound of the fan blinded the incoming footsteps, going towards the office.
Sugar Dream was too busy trying to find the missing one.
*Click*
"Not here!"
*Click*
"Clear!"
Sugar was starting to feel tears of sweat going down her face. With her right hoof, she wiped those tears.
Unaware, a pair of two purple eyes watched her from the hallway.
"This should be easy."- he thought. Carefully, he got in the office, trying not to make a lot of noise, fortunately the fan did the trick.
He bent on his knees, reaching the same size as Sugar. The purple rabbit lowered his ears, they were quite big. Now, he was ready.

Sugar, on the other hoof, wasn't paying much attention, she only focused on the camera, trying to find the missing animatronic, which was already right in front of her.
*Click*
"C'mon!"- she thought to herself. "Where is he?"" Thats when she heard a noise, a really close noise. Her heart skipped a beat.
She wanted to lower the tablet, but the feel of fear frozed her movements. "Stay calm, stay calm..."

The purple rabbit raised his left hand to the tablet, and using two fingers, he placed them on tablet.
He knew by experience, the security guard could see his fingers, giving the poor pony a feeling of regret for choosing that job.
Still that wasn't the best part, at least for him.

Like the rabbit thought, Sugar was glancing at the two purple fingers, sending shivers down her spine.
Possibly the missing animatronic couldn't move? Right?
She gulped when she felt a sudden pressure on the tablet. She wanted to something, but what?
In a matter of seconds, she could see two purple ears.
"I saw that before..."- she recalled back when she passed the stage, remembering the animatronics. "Oh no!"

Without notice, deep in her thoughts, she gave up, now both are staring at each.
It took a few seconds to realize that moment.
"Wait! She's a mare!"- he thought with less enthusiasm. He was hoping for a stallion to scare, but this sudden change of plans, messed up with his plan, still he could try. "Here goes nothing---Aaaaah!"

Much to his surprise, the yellow mare didn't move one inch or said anything, instead she was...smiling?
This made him even more confused. Wasn't he that scary? Did he do something wrong?

"You're so cute."- she finally spoke.
His jaws dropped, did he heard that well? Did she just said "cute"?
"Excuse me?"

Sugar giggled.
"You're also funny." He was more confused than before. "Cute" and "Funny"? She really wasn't afraid of him, this changes everything.
"You are not you afraid of me?"- he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sugar tilted her head to the left, somehow surprised by the sudden question.
"Not really."

The purple rabbit stepped back and stared at Sugar, trying to see if was telling the truth. The look in her eyes said everything.
He scratched the back on his head, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Heh, sorry for the jumpscare..." Turning his gaze from her, he looked at the pink cupcake with eyes. Still, after many years, he really didn't liked that thing. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a growl.
The yellow mare covered her belly with her hooves, with a sheepish smile.
"It's been awhile since I last ate."

He let out a low giggle.
"Follow me." He said, turning around and leaving the security office. She got out of the chair and followed him down the hallway.
They finally entered the party room, Sugar gasped, the stage was empty and Pirate Cove was now open.

"Don't worry!"- he assured her. Getting close to one of the chairs, he pulled back. "Please, take a seat."
She nodded while sitting down, he pulled the chair forward.
Clearing his mechanical throat, he spoked.
"We have pizza, if you want."
She looked at him with a strange face.

"Oh, don't worry. The pizzas are fresh, Chica likes to take care of that."

"Chica?"- she thought. "Well, in that case sure, why not?" Her belly growled again.
He smiled, he turned around going towards the kitchen, but he stopped and looked back.
"By the way, I'm Bonnie the Rabbit"- he spoke with a tone of pride in his voice.
Sugar smiled back.
"I'm Sugar Dream, nice to meet you!"

This was a weird new experience to her. Still she was enjoying, Sugar always liked making new friends.
At the moment, she was alone in the party room, a few lights were on.
She took a deep breath, then she remembered the clock was in the security office. Sugar considered getting the clock, but the decided to wait for Bonnie and the pizza, she was feeling hungry.
"What's taking him so long?"- she mumbled.

Suddenly, she felt something touching her shoulder. She quickly turned her head, but she saw nothing. Only a set of chairs behind her.
The yellow mare sighed. Maybe being hungry was making her seeing things.
She turned around until she met a pair of brown eyes glancing at her. "Hey!"

Sugar didn't move, instead she stared back at the brown animatronic. A brown bear. With a top black hat.
"H-Hey there! I didn't see you coming." She giggled feeling bit a nervous.

"Of course not." He laughed. "I'm Freddy the Bear."- he let out a hand towards her.
Shaking his hand, she greeted him with a small grin.
"I'm Sugar Dream."

"I'm Chica the Chicken!"- said a voice behind Freddy.

"I'm Foxy the Pirate."- another voice spoke behind him.
Sugar raised an eyebrow. From behind Freddy, a yellow duck and a red fox appeared, both smiling.
Freddy raised from his chair, also smiling. With their arms in the air, they shouted.
"Welcome to Freddy Fazbear Pizza!"

Freddy then leaned foward.
"I believe you already met Bonnie?"- he asked, already knowing the answer. Sugar nodded. "Good, now let's talk, shall we?"

"So," Freddy continued while sitting down, followed by Chica and Foxy. "I suppose you're the new security guard?"
Sugar nodded. Now, she felt more relieved, after all they showed to be quite friendly.
"May I ask why?"

"I needed bits to pay my bills and after a long search, I found this job on the newspaper."- she answered.
Of all the jobs she could pick, she chose this one. Still, this wasn't a bad job, at least she had someone to talk with and maybe eat some pizza. "By the way, do you know what time it is?"
Freddy shrugged.
"Unfortunately, I don't know."- he paused. "Where's the clock?"

"Inside the security office." Freddy thought for a while, before turning to Foxy.

"Say Foxy, you don't..." But before he could even manage to finish his phrase Foxy was gone, the only thing left in his place was a spinning chair with some dust. "Well nevermind..." And like that, Foxy was back with the clock on his hand. "Thank you!"

"No problem sailor"- he said with a good smile. Freddy grabbed the clock and took a quick look at the time. 3:56.

"We still have plenty of time left before your shift ends." He gave her the clock. Sugar was surprised. Time flies when you're busy.
Two more hours and she could go back home, but now she was more curious about this place. A few questions wouldn't hurt anyone.
Also that was a way for her to distract herself from the hunger. Bonnie was taking a lot of time with that pizza. Did something happen?
"Can I ask you a question?"- she asked with some uncertainty.
Freddy nodded with a grin on his face.
"You already did!" Chica and Foxy chuckled.

Sugar giggled. The yellow mare took a deep breath.
"What happened to this place?"
Freddy leaned back on his chair, his smile seemed to faded. Chica and Foxy looked at Freddy with a sad expression.
The brown bear glanced to a nearby party hat and grabbed it gently with his big hands.
Chica placed her hand on Freddy's shoulder. He lifted his eyes, gazing at Sugar.
"Have you heard the expression, good things always come to an end?" Sugar nodded, trying to understand. "This place is a good example. Back in the good old days, this restaurant was a happy place filled with joy." Carefully, she heard every single word from him, also she notice Chica that was still supporting Freddy's sadness while Foxy was looking at his hook. "Until ponies stop coming, unfortunately Foxy had a little accident."

She took a glance at Foxy.
"That's why he looks like that.- she thought, returning her attention back to Freddy.

"Also, we had a fourth animatronic."- Freddy paused. "Basically, he was like me, but yellow. Golden Freddy, he was only used in special occasions."

"What happen to him?" Sugar looking around, trying to find the yellow bear.

"You won't find him. He's been scrapped for money, the employees needed their last paycheck. Weeks later, the restaurant closed."
Poor animatronics. They could hear noises coming from somewhere, Chica glanced back, carefully the chicken whispered something into Freddy's ear. "Anyway, we have...things to do."
Foxy turned his head towards Freddy.
"We do?"
Quickly, Freddy covered his mouth. "Of course. Don't you remember that thing?" He tilted his head.

"Oooh, that thing!"
Taking his hands of his mouth, he gazed to Sugar Dream. "We need to go, bye!" With that, the three animatronic left their chairs, running into the security office not before Freddy gave her a wink. By then Bonnie returned with a tray, along with three slices of pizza.
"Sorry for the waiting, but I had some issues with the microwave."
Sugar turned around, forgetting that awkward moment. The smell of the pizza filled her nostrils.
"No problem."- she smiling while licking her lips. "By the way, I met your friends!" Bonnie placed the tray on the table, with a raised eyebrow he asked.
"Oh, really? What did they said?"

She grabbed one slice of pizza before answering.
"We had a small talk, mostly about the restaurant and his past." The purple bunny sighed, or at least he tried. That was a part of his life he didn't wanted to remember. "Where are they?" He glanced around.

"In the security office."- she immediately said, taking a bite on the pizza.
Bonnie leaned to the corridor. He narrowed his eyes. A yellow chicken head suddenly disappeared.

Looking back at wall, the camera was looking at them. Really guys?- he thought, turning his gaze at the yellow mare. "There's a place I like to go also, that way you eat without the one being watched."- he giggled, pointing towards the camera. Grabbing the tray, them left the room. "Don't tell anyone about this, OK?" He opened the door behind the curtain on the stage.
They climbed the stairs. "Welcome to my favourite place, besides the stage of course!" Then he opened the door, revealing the outside.

"The roof?"- Sugar asked, a little confused.

"Soon you shall know why."

Minutes later, the two of them rested on the roof, Sugar was now eating the last slice of pizza.
"This is an incredible view." From the roof, they had a nice view of the city, especially the night sky.
The sky was filled with stars, they seemed blinking at them.
"I know!" Bonnie was glancing at the stars. After finishing eating the pizza, Sugar leaned on Bonnie.
Sugar was surprised, for a animatronic, he sure was fluffy almost like a pillow. On the other hand, Boonie was comfortable with that.
"I could get used to this." She get more closer to him, wrapping a wing around the rabbit. He did the same thing, but using his right arm.

"To cuddle with me or glancing at the stars?"- he laughed.
She blushed.
"Maybe both."- the mare smiled.
Unfortunately, the first beams of light sprouted, that meant that her shift was ending.
She sighed, but she to admit this job wasn't bad, at least she could eat pizza and take a moment to relax looking at the stars.
"Are you coming back later?"- he asked. Bonnie hoped her answer was "yes".

"Only if you want."- Sugar gave him a wink. Bonnie for a brief moment, he looked away.

"I would like it." She then kissed him on the cheek.

"Anyway, I need to go, see ya later." He watched her heading downstairs. If she was returning later, he needed to get fancy, slightly.
Fortunately, he knew the right bear for the job.

Chapter Four: Mechanical Feelings

View Online

When Sugar Dream finally arrived her home, she was exhausted and very, very sleepy. This was the first time she had job like this one, the yellow mare wasn't used to stay late at night. Not like this.
She wanted to reach her bed, but her body was too tired to move, so she decided to just sleep on the couch. At least the couch was fluffy.

The pegasus laid her back on the couch, looking at the ceiling with half open eyes. She started recalling the events of today. Never in her life, she would actually meet, well living mechanical beings.
Slowly her eyes closed, she would need a lot of rest, after all Sugar intended to return to the old restaurant, to visit a certain friend.

Back in the restaurant, that friend was walking back or forward, glancing at the ground intensely.
He stayed awake up since last night, the events still in his mind, creating several questions. Each time the restaurant would get a new security guard, he would scare them, after all this was their home, even if was very old, but the memories still remain inside these very walls.

But this time was different. He tried. Yet, he failed. And now they had a new cute night guard. Scratch that part.
Even if they're robots, they could still have emotions, that small part made their job a lot easier.

Why is she so different? Why do I feel happy next to her? Why isn't she affraid of me?

"If you keep doing that, we might need a new floor."- a voice disturbed his thoughts.
Bonnie raised his eyes, meeting a brown bear wearing a nice black bow tie with a top hat.

"Sorry, but I have a lot in my circuits."
Freddy chuckled.
"You mean in your memory?"
He gave a confused look, finally coming to a stop.
"I don't get it."

The mechanical bear wrapped an arm his neck, giving him a simple smile.
"We notice you two last night."

The purple rabbit glanced away.
"I don't know what you are talking about."

After a couple of seconds, Freddy decided to break the silence.
"You like her don't you?"

Bonnie wasn't sure, but he could swear his systems crashed and something like that.
"No, of course not! That ridiculous, I'm a robot and she's a pony!"

"Argh maty, I see you're lying, only using one eye."
Freddy and Bonnie turned theirs heads to meet Foxy. Apparently he had a chef hat on his head, saying Let's Cook Yep, definitly from Chica. The pirate glanced up. "Ups, me bad." With his hook, he took off the hat.

"But you have two eyes."- Bonnie replied, getting a giggle from Freddy.

"That's not the only thing."- the bear added.

"Hardy Har! Don't you change the cannon on me rookie." Foxy stepped inside the service parts room. "I heard the conspiracy." Bonnie huffed, sometimes dealing with Foxy and his verbal expressions wasn't well, and with the current state it wasn't clearly working, Foxy noticed his expression. "Alright, time to drop the act, answer the question!"

"What question?"- he pretended.
Foxy scratched his chin, looking into his eyes.
"If you don't answer, I will tell Chica who burned the cupcakes." When he said that, Bonnie's jaw dropped. He knows? How? The rabbit was new when it came to cooking, let's just say the first time was...bad. "I'm a fox remember?"

Freddy and Foxy stared at each other before gazing back at Bonnie. He dropped his shoulders in defeat.

"Yes, I do..."

"So why don't you just tell her?"

"I thought you heard me, I'm a robot and she's a pony, we don't combine. Metal and Flesh."
Foxy facepalmed.
"Say the truth." When Bonnie refused to answer, he turned around, heading towards the door.

"Wait! Please!

Works everytime. The fox smiled. "I just...don't know how to tell her..."
Still keeping his arm around his neck, he pulled him closer.
"That's the easy part. Here, Uncle Freddy will teach you."

"Don't forget about me sailor."

"But you are not uncle."
Freddy and Foxy both facepalmed, which made Bonnie even more confused.
"It's just an expression Bonnie."

After finished sleeping for an entire day, Sugar woke up. Her mane was a mess and she decided to take a quick shower, she still had one hour left to get ready.
The shower made her relaxed her muscles, but during her bath, her thoughts about Bonnie came into her mind once more.
Sugar once had a very special somepony, unfortunately he left her. Sugar was a happy mare, even in the worst case scenarios, but deep in her heart she missed one true thing.

Love.

Being loved by somepony else.

He's very gentle and funny. Even for a robot.

She already admitted he was cute. Maybe tonight she could spend more time with him.
After cleaning herself, she went to the kitchen and made a flower sandwich. Her favourite. A quick glance to the clock made her eyes shot open. Oh no, I'm late!

Sugar grabbed her keys and closed the door behind her. I still have fifteen minutes left, I guess I lost track of time in the shower.

She kept trotting down the street, due to being late, the sidewalks are nearly empty, at least she didn't have to dodge incoming ponies.
Manehattan was a busy city during the day, but at night it was rather peaceful.
Eventually she arrived the old restaurant, gasping for air. I need to do more exercise.

When she enter the establishment she felt something strange. It's too quiet. She gazed at the stage, confirming her suspicions. Where did they go? Sugar looked at the other side of the dinner room. Foxy was also missing.

A cough caught her by surprise. She quickly turned around, her eyes meeting Bonnie.
"You scared me, you know that?" She continued to stare at him, until she notice he was wearing a black bow tie and a top hat.

Strange, I could swear yesterday he didn't have those.- Sugar thought to herself.

Nice start dummy...- Bonnie mentally facepalmed.

Chapter Five: Let's Have Dinner

View Online

The two of them stood there, in a very awkward silence.
Bonnie glanced around, trying to find his friends, but he couldn't see them.

Think, think you metal head!- Bonnie thought to himself.

Freddy and Foxy gave him several tips and some help on how to court a mare. Unfortunately for him, he forgot everything, either he wasn't paying attention or his computer didn't recorded properly, either way he needed to act.
Bonnie was about to say something, but Sugar got him first.

"So...I guess I'm going to my office, I probably need to answer the phone." - She gave him an awkward smile, her eyes looking at everything, but him.

"Sure, I...have some things to do, yeah. Dishes and stuff." The pony and animatronic stood there for a few seconds, before Sugar took her leave, heading towards the office. Bonnie watched as Sugar kept walking further until she turned to her right and disappeared.

"I'm a idiot..." - Bonnie muttered to himself.

"You got that right sailor."

"Eeyup."

"Don't say that." Bonnie turned around and pulled the stage curtains, revealing his friends. "Hey Bonnie." - said Chica.
Freddy and Foxy pretended they didn't know what just happened. Foxy was using a guitar, upside down, even if he couldn't handle with his hook. The bear was messing with the drum, trying to clean it with a cloth. Bonnie did cleaned the drum a few days ago.
As for Chica well, she wasn't actually doing anything. Like spying.
"What are you guys doing back there?" - he asked.

"Can't you see?" - Freddy answered. "We're making sure everthing is clean and in perfect conditions."

"Oh, really?" - he asked again, crossing his arms.

"Either that or they just wanted to spy on you." - Chica said with a slight giggle.
Foxy lifted his eyepatch.
"Ah, traitor!"
Bonnie just shook his head.
"Thank you for being honest Chica." In return, she gave him a hug.

"How is it going?" - Chica inquired, sounding a bit concerned for his friend.
Bonnie scratched behind his head.
"It could be worse I suppose."

"Worse than this?"
Chica gave Foxy a glare that said 'You're not helping'. He chuckled a little. "Sorry mate."
"No, you're right. I messed up."

Freddy approached him with a smile.
"Fortunately for you, we have at least six hours to work it."

"To begin," - started the fox pirate. "have you prepared dinner?"

Oops...- he thought to himself. "Hehe, no?" Foxy and Freddy facepalmed.

"And the table?" - asked Freddy, but Bonnie looked away. "I see, don't worry we can handle the food and the table, just...talk to her for a while, until we get things done."

"Really? You would do that for me?" The three animatronics nodded. "Thank you all."
Foxy waved at him with a dismissive hook.
"Leave that to us, now go talk to her sailor!" Bonnie gave him a quick salute and walked towards the back office. "Well, we got some work to do." - he said to the others.

"I take care of the food." - suggested Chica.

"Leave the music to me!" - said Foxy.

"In that case, the table is mine. Let's go!" - ordered Freddy.

Meanwhile in the back office, Sugar was at the phone talking to Purple Mystery.
"S-so, no problems so far?"

"Nope, everything seems fine for now." - she took a small sip from her coffee.
He chuckled.
"Good, good to know, but if something happens you know what to do right?"
Sugar nodded to herself.
"Don't worry, I know."

"Alright, in that case I won't bother you, keep up the good work, bye!"

"See ya later." - she hung the phone and let out a sigh. Purple Mystery sometimes seemed to be...stressed about something. She wanted to ask why, but that would probably be asking something personal.
Sugar leaned on the chair, simply enjoying the silence and her hot coffee. Then she noticed Bonnie approaching from the left small window.
"Hey, done talking with Purple?" - he asked.

"Yep, do you know him?"
Bonnie shrugged.
"Only a little, what I can really tell you about him, is that he's a very shy pony, but he has a big heart."

"He's the owner?" - Sugar asked.
The purple bunny shook his head.
"No, but he was the first guard." - he scratched his chin. "Night shift, if I remember well."

"Did you guys talk to him?" Again, he shook his head. "Why not?" - she inquired tilting her head.

"Company policy, no animatronic or employer must have or maintain contact." Sugar was more than confused by that statement. After all, they did had contact with the little foals, why not with employees?

"Did you know why?" Bonnie just shrugged. "That's odd."

"I know right?" Sugar was about to ask a rather more personal question, but her stomach interrupted. Bonnie giggled. "Hungry?"
Sugar nodded, feeling a little embarrased. "Give me a second please, be right back!"

"Okie." Bonnie got up and walked down the hall. His eyes searched for his friends, instead he found everything arranged, the table had been set, the lights and a gentle music was playing.

"Impressed?" - voice called next to him. He turned to see Freddy with a smirk on his face.

"Yep, thanks for the help."

"Don't sweat it kid."
Bonnie crossed his arms with an annoyed look.

"I'm not a kid."

Freddy chuckled.

"For me, you'll always be my kid, now go have your dinner with Sugar, the food is ready." He nodded and went back to the office. "Chica, Foxy, bring the food. This is going to be very interesting!" He winked at anyone in particular.

Sugar's belly kept on rumbling, the sandwich had proven not to be enough. Maybe next time she should buy something to eat along the way.

"Ah, Sugar?" With all that rumbling and thinking she didn't noticed him. For a odd reason she blushed. Many ponies had called her name, but the way he said it was...different.

"Hehe, sorry, deep thinking and hunger."
He smiled and waved her to follow him.

"Don't worry about that." Sugar rose from her seat and followed the purple animatronic.

"This looks amazing." After a close inspection, she could see somethings seemed more cleaned or organized. "Let me guess, you got a little help?"
He blushed a little, somehow.
"Yes, do you like it?"

Sugar though for a while, she wasn't sure why he doing this for her, maybe... "Of course I do."
The two came to the table.

"Pizza and french fries with orange juice. Unfortunately that's what we have." He pulled the chair for Sugar.

"No problem, I don't eat that much either." After Sugar sitting down, he took his seat across the other side of the table.
Bonnie grabbed a slice of pizza and smiled.
"Let's eat!"

"Can you actually eat?" - asked Sugar.

"Well, I can try."
The yellow pony simply giggled.
"Then that's a no."

"Yep." She grabbed one slice of pizza, before Bonnie could say anything else, it was already gone. "You don't eat pizza, you devoured it."

The light blush didn't go unnoticed by Bonnie. "Maybe I was just a little hungry?"

"Enjoy yourself then."
The two sat in absolute silence, Bonnie at this point didn't know what to say or do. The beginning of the dinner seemed to be going well but now what?
"Hmm," - that got her attention. "So, what do you do when you're not here?"

"You mean in my spare time?" - he nodded. "Mmm, not much really, sometimes I just like to lay in my couch and watch TV while I'm eating popcorn covered in exotic butter." Sugar grabbed another slice. "Other times I go out for a walk or hang out with my friend."

"Who's your friend?" The robot leaned closer, placing his elbows on the table while his chin rested on his hands.

"Pinkie Pie, or Pinkie for short. Now that I think about it, she loves parties, I bet you guys would like her. All she thinks is throwing parties, even for the smallest of things."

"Maybe one day we will meet her. Have you told her about your job?"
The yellow pegasus gasped, she completely forgot to tell her. Honestly her life took a big turn in the last couple of days. A letter was in order to send. How could she simply forget that? "Sugar, you ok? Something wrong?"

She shook her head. "Nothing much, besides the fact I forget to tell my friend I have a job now..."

"She's not going to dislike or hate you for that, if that is your fear."

"How can you tell?"

"Simple, she's your friend." He boop her noose, each earned him a light blush from the pony. "I'm sure if you explaining, she'll understand."

"Oh ok. I guess you're right."
Bonnie smiled, mostly to himself. The dinner was going smoother now. He enjoyed seeing her cute look, especially when she was blushing. It made his circuits sparkle. "Bonnie can I ask you something?"

"Of course you can."

"Do you have feelings? I know you're basically a robot but how does that work?"
Well it was a rather curious question really. They never got the chance to ask their maker about that, he only knew one thing for certain though.
"Magic." - he said it casually.

"Um, just that? I know magic can do a lot but still, there's more to that right?"

"I wish I could answer your question, but I really have no idea. We never asked." Sugar grabbed a cup of orange juice and drank it all. "That also means you can feel love right?"

"Yea, well I can, among other things." - he scratch his head, looking away from Sugar.
The yellow pegasus had a slight suspicion, but she couldn't guess what it was, at least not yet.
The way he was acting around her was odd, yet funny and she was growing to like him more and more. One of the few reasons why Sugar was starting to like this job, also she couldn't forget the rest of her new friends.

Time slowly went by while they kept talking, and even laughing once in a while.
Meawhile they were completely unaware of the three pairs of optical lens staring.
"They look so cute together." - stated Chica.
Foxy simply rolled his eyes which earned him an elbow on the belly from Chica. Admittedly, he didn't really care much about feelings, unlike his friends. The one thing he cared about the most was making the youngs one happy. His thoughts were interrupted by Freddy.
"He's going well so far, but I got an idea to make it even better for them. Follow me."

"And because of that his face was covered in cake, it took a long time to clean him up."

"Hahaha, poor Foxy."

"Well he kinda set himself up for that." - he shrugged, smiling. When Sugar was finally done with her dinner, she let out a satisfied sigh.
Bonnie got up, grabbing the plates and cup. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, I wished I could have made something better."

"Don't worry about it, I really liked it." With her hoof, she asked him to approach closer and doing so Sugar gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. "Thank you Bonnie."

Bonnie could swear his systems almost crashed. Almost.
"Y-your welcome...I'll umm just get these back." - he said moving into the kitchen.

Once he got there, Bonnie gently placed down the stuff on the counter. He could believe what just happen. She actually just kissed him. Well it was on the cheek, true, but it got him fired up.
"Take it slow kid or you'll end burning the restaurant." - stated Freddy, stepping into the kitchen.

"You saw?"
The brown bear nodded with a big grin.
"I sure did. I'm proud of you."

"Well, you guys did most of the hard word decorating the place and such."

"But who was out there by himself using his charm?"

"Me?"
He clapped his big fluffly hands.
"We have a winner, but the show isn't quite over yet."

"What do you mean?" Meanwhile Freddy got behind him. "What are you doing?"

"You two should go check the roof." And with that being said, Bonnie was pushed out of the kitchen.

Sugar raised an eyebrow.
"You ok Bonnie?"

"Yea,yea, umm want to go on roof and see the stars?"

"I would like that."
It only took them a couple of minutes to reach the roof, Bonnie was still wondering what they have been up to.
Upon opening the door, Sugar and Bonnie's jaw dropped very slightly at the sight of the new roof improvement.
"This is..." - he started, but Sugar cut him off.
"Beautiful." True to her words, whole roof was redecorated with lights, and right in the middle of the floor was a large red carpet. A little bit to the side was a colorful jukebox currently playing a quiet melody. It was simple lullaby, yet it brought him such joy and good memories.
He glanced between the jukebox and Sugar. "Oh, I see." Bonnie let out his hand towards his companion. "Care to join me in a dance?" Sugar blushed at the gesture, for two reasons.
"There's one tiny problem."

"What is it?"
Her blush become more noticable.
"I'm not a good dancer."
The animatronic laughed.
"It's alright, I'll teach you. Just follow my steps."

"Ok." - she finally said it as her right hoof made contact with his hand.
The duo spend the rest of their night dancing. Bonnie began with something a bit slow. Fortunately his feet wouldn't feel any of misteps from Sugar, even though she apolagized several times. Slowly, Sugar was starting to pick up the pace and enjoy herself even more.
By the time they were finished dancing was when the first rays of light poked through the sky, that's when they knew had to say goodbye and see each other much later. They left with a satisfied smile, knowing everything went well.
Bonnie watched from the roof as the pegasus left the restaurant, going down the road until he lost track of her.
Bonnie was so happy that Freddy couldn't bring himself to say that he needed to clean the roof and downstairs. At least not yet anyways.

Chapter Seven: Old Friend

If Bonnie could be standing right in front of a mirror, he would see his dopey grin.
Much to his surprise the whole night went astonishing well. Yea, he got a bit nervous at first, but a little help here and there got the show rolling in the right direction.
"Equestria calls Bonnie." - a familiar voice chinned in.

"Umm, oh, Freddy, sorry I didn't noticed you."
The brown bear smiled.
"I wonder why."

"You guys helped a lot, thank you for everything."

"Don't sweat it kid." - he waved his hand. "However, you're cleaning the dining room and the roof."

"Okay." Just like that he was gone. Freddy simply tilted his head. He was waiting for him to complain or something.
"Well, he just killed the fun."

Sugar decided to wake up a bit more earlier than usual. Afterall she intented to pay her friend a visit and tell the lastest news.
After eating her breakfast, the yellow pony made her way towards the train station. It had been a rather long time since she last saw Pinkie.
Working night shifts wasn't proving to be difficult, granted she had someone to spend the nights with. As she boarded and took her seat, Sugar's thoughts drifted to Bonnie.
He had been so gentle and nice to her in the last couple of nights. It was surprising really. Sugar was never really lucky when it got to love or relationships.
She just wished she could spend more time with him. Well, there was a way, but probably not the best.

"Next stop, Ponyville."

Sugarcube Corner. "After all this time, it didn't change, not even one bit." - she thought.
Sugar took a deep breath and opened the door, immediately being assalted by the sweet smells.
"Sugar!" - someone quickly yelled and was caught in a crushing hug.

"Pinkie...air...please!"

"Oh, sorry." The pink pony let her go, rubbing the back of her head with a smile.
Being able to breath again was nice, but it was even greater seeing her friend.
"It's been a while." - commented Sugar.

"Yep, just give me a few seconds to serve the other tables." - and with that said she was gone in a flash of pink.

Sugar decided to take a seat in the far side of the room, away from the others and watched Pinkie going from table to table, until it was her turn.
"Let me guess, apple juice with a chocolate muffin right?"
The yellow pegasus raised an eyebrow.
"You still remember what I like?"

"Of course I do, silly."

Her eyes scanned the little shop, nothing much changed, besides being more table and chairs. It still had that cozy look she loved.
The party pony came back with her order, setting on the table and taking a seat herself.
"I'm so happy to see you again! What brings you here?"

"Pinkie have you ever heard about a restaurant that used animatronics for parties back in Manehattan?"

"Hmm, I think so, Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria? Wasn't that place closed?"

"It is, but I'm working there as security guard doing the night shift."

"Oooooh! How is it?" Pinkie practically jumped over the table. She knew about that place and always wanted to go there one day.
Sugar simply giggled.
"It's actually quite fun since the animatronics are still there."

"Gotta tell me more!" Pinkie could barely contain her excitement.
One hour went flying away as Sugar told how her shifts went, getting a few giggles here and there from her friend.
"You know, I think Bonnie likes you~"

"I like him too, he's nice."

"You silly, I'm saying he likes likes you."

"Oh." Her cheeks suddenly got red from the sudden realization, that would explain some of his behaviours when around her. Was it possible though? To feel love?
"Well, he's been nice to me since I got there."

"Go on."

"He's also quite funny and helpful."
Now that she now had a moment to stop and think, a lot of stuff was starting to make sense. The dinner, dancing on the roof, the way he talked to her. How could have she been so blind? How had she not noticed this before?
"By sweet Celestia, he does like me!" For the most part, Pinkie just clapped her hooves.
"What are you going to do?" - inquired Pinkie.

The question caught her off guard a bit. What was she going to do now? Bonnie had shown a clear interest in her. It's been such a long time since... Deep down, her own heart also showed certain feelings for him. Could she love someone again? Could she be loved? Was she worth it? For real this time? The questions, the doubt, it was slowly eating at her.
"I-I...I don't know..." - that was the only reply Sugar was able to give.

"Don't let those questions take you down sunshine."

"How do..." - for a brief moment she forgot that was Pinkie, in other words, just toss logic out the window but her friend had a fair point. "Nevermind.". She couldn't let these questions get in her way. Perhaps this was the chance to finally find that special one, the one to share her life with.
She glanced at her friend with a determined look.
"You're right Pinkie!"

"Well duh." - Pinkie giggled.
She gave her friend a hug.
"Thanks Pinkie. Now let's talk a bit about you."
The pink pony shared many of her crazy aventures with her friends and a romantic interest in a pony named Cheese.
When the time was right they had to give goodbye's, Sugar promised to write her letters once in a while.

Sugar took a deep breath and with a new found determination, she entered the old building.
Sugar took her seat in the office, slowly drinking her coffee while looking at the cameras, more specifically towards Bonnie.
"You know I'm watching you silly." - she said to one.

The purple bunny turned his head to face the camera and winked, just as the screen flickered. The bunny was soon gone from his spot.
The yellow pegasus laid back waiting for him. She had a few things to ask and tell him, still not sure how though. Things related to love always have been somewhat confusing to her.

*knock* *knock*
The knocking caught her attention as she noticed Bonnie as just outside her office door.
"Something wrong Sugar?"

"Ah no, just thinking." Sugar looked down at her mug of coffee and then back at him. "Actually we need to talk."
