Rainbow Dash finally gets into the Wonderbolts but she has feelings for one of then then Spitfire finds out and tries to make Rainbow Dashes life a living Tartarus
It was just another boring day for a certain rainbow maned mare, she was bucking a patch of stray clouds that was wondering over to Ponyville. She was eagerly waiting for a letter back from the WonderBolts for whether she got in or not.
Just a few weeks prior she went to go and tryout for them, she amazed them with all her daring stunts and tricks and at the end she made a last second decision to do a SONIC RAINBOOM!! She got the highest score in the history of the WonderBolts, the mare got over 1000 points! Her score was even higher than spitfire's which was just over 700 points.
About half an hour later Rainbow Dash was done so she decided to head back to her cloud manner. Her manner was simple, it had 4 floors and each was different. on the first floor was the living room, kitchen and the dining room.
On the second floor was the gaming room, the whole floor was full of games and a flat screen TV on the wall which she played her P-Box, she liked to play Call Of Cutie, PonyLands, PinkieShock, Luna OPS 2, Portal 2 and Cutie Marks Creed. The room had a giant sofa and table to put tonnes of snacks on for a gaming marathon, and in the corner there was a small toilet because Rainbow Dash was lazy so she didn't want to have to walk all the way upstairs and then walk all the way downstairs (in rainbows way it would be more like fly).
On the third floor was the exercise room where there was weights, a treadmill, yoga mat for wing ups and a lot of other equipment also a small shower in an identical room to the toilet on the floor below but instead of a toilet it was a shower made out of a rain cloud.
Finally on the fourth floor was her bedroom it was bigger than Rarity's room which always made her annoyed. There was a simple double bed with rainbow dashes cutie mark on the cover, the pillows had the WonderBolts insignia on them. there was a couple of closets that various things in them. and to the side there was a big bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet, sink and a couple of cabinets.
As she was heading inside Rainbow Dash noticed the mail on the porch. She picked it up and went inside. She went through the mail noticing that some of the mail didn't belong to her and put it into a basket she had where all the mail that wasn't hers would go and probably the next day she would find derby and give the mail to her.
At the bottom of the pile she found a letter that was addressed to her, she turned it over and found that the stamp was the wonderbolts insignia. She squealed to herself and continued to open it. The letter said
Dear Miss Rainbow Dash, We are delighted to tell you that you have made it into the WONDERBOLTS! You must report to the WonderBolts HQ on wednesday at 10am and be prepared to train hard

Every time the rainbow maned mare read the letter she got more and more excited. She looked at the calendar and saw that wednesday was tomorrow. So she flew out of her manner at lightning speeds and sped down to the newest princesses house which happened to be a giant tree. On the way down rainbow dash preformed a sonic rainboom which she could now do whenever she wants.
When she got down to the tree she crashed through the roof for the 3rd time that week. Twilight looked up and said, " Rainbow Dash do you have to do that every single time!" Twilight was angry, really angry. Rainbow dash got back up and rubbed and remembered
what she came down to tell her. she jumped up and shouted, "I got into the WONDERBOLTS!!"
Twilight shouted back, "Thats awesome Rainbow!"
"Spike go get me 5 scrolls and some ink please" Twilight told Spike.
A moment later Twilight was writing the same thing down on the scrolls and ordered Spike to send them to Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Princess Celestia. a couple of minutes later they all showed up to congratulate her but Princess Celestia sent a scroll instead to congratulate her.
Rarity was the first to say, "Congratulations Darling, I knew you could do it!"
"Um.. yeah congratulations Rainbow" Fluttershy said quietly.
then Applejack shouted, "Congratulations R.D!"
"Do you Know what this calls for?" Pinkie Pie said.
Twilight said back, "Let me guess..."
"a.... PARTY!!!!" Pinkie shouted and pulled out her party cannon from no where. she fired it and suddenly the library was decorated from head to hoof in decorations, and a big banner said CONGRATULATIONS RAINBOW DASH!!!
The party went on late into the night. So they all decided to head home except for twilight and Pinkie Pie, Pinkie Pie was full of energy and when everyone left she just crashed so Twilight levitated her into the spare bed in her room and went to bed herself.
Rainbow Dash got back to her Manner and flew straight up to the fourth floor and looked at all the wonderbolt posters around her room. She sighed and went to bed. as she was dreaming about the Wonderbolts princess luna came into her dream to congratulate her and promised to keep her dreams under control for the next couple of weeks because the training that she was going to be doing was tough and she would most likely give her nightmares.
princess luna said, "You might want to wake up now or your going to be late."
"Thanks princess luna for the heads up on the time and for the congratulations."
After Princess Luna suggested to wake up she did so. She looked at the clock on her beside table and saw that it was 9:30 am! The rainbow maned mare shouted "HORSE APPLES!! I"M GONNA BE LATE!". She zipped into the bathroom and had a shower, then she got a power bar and went out the closest window.
As she was flying ponies from all around said congratulations to her, Rainbow Dash waved and shot off at lightning speed. She came up on the Wonderbolts HQ and zoomed in. She noticed that there was a group of wonderbolts in the centre of the HQ (the centre of HQ was covered in grass and it was circular) waiting for her. She decided that she would impress them and do a quick sonic rainboom and then with the solid rainbow trailing behind her she spelled 'WONDERBOLTS'. All of the wonderbolts looked up and
spitfire said " well... it looks like Rainbow Dash is here!"
As Spitfire said that Rainbow Dash landed on the ground with a loud thump. All of the Wonderbolts cheered for her, Rainbow Dash started to blush and she bowed.
After a quick introduction to all the wonderbolts they gave her, her uniform and showed her around the the base, then to her new suite at the HQ. Rainbow Dash was just amazed and Spitfire laughed quietly and said
" Well Rainbow Dash it looks like your having a pretty good time but you will think joining the wonderbolts was the worst idea ever for the next few weeks because of all the intense training you will be going through to get you up to speed with the program."
Rainbow Dash said back confidently "I think that getting into the wonderbolts was the greatest thing to happen to me now and i don't think i will change my mind anytime soon, besides Princes Luna said that she will be monitoring my dreams for the next couple of weeks because she fears that i will get nightmares."
"well thats good to hear. Soarin is one of are newer members and he will be helping you adjust." Spitfire said with a smile on her face.
Spitfire had left her to look around and check out her room. As she was looking at her map she had been given she bumped into someone, and that someone was none other than... Soarin!! Rainbow picked up her map, not wanting to look up she said quickly
"I'm so sorry i was just wondering where in HQ i am."
Soarin said calmly "Its ok Rainbow Dash do you need help?"
" Soarin?! sorry!" Rainbow nearly shouted and not wanting to accept the help she simply nodded. So they set to go find her room.
After a couple of minutes they got to her room in the east wing. They stopped outside and rainbow said "Thanks for helping me find my room Soarin." her cheeks were going bright red.
"Hey, no problem Rainbow Dash I'm supposed to help you and show you where to go for the next couple weeks so yeah happy to help!" Soarin said with a very cheesy grin. Then he left chuckling.
As Rainbow Dash walked into her suite and closed the door she took in her surroundings, there was a simple bed just like the one back at her cloud manner, a table with 4 chairs, a sofa, a bathroom and an eńsuite. she went and laid down on her bed thinking about what just happened and then she realised that she...she had feelings for... SOARIN!!
She was so shocked that she fell off her bed! She decided to shrug it off and be awesome like she always is. She walked to the mess hall and grabbed a big slice of apple pie because she only had an energy bar for breakfast and that sonic rainboom took a lot out of her. she sat down and began to eat.
Over the next week Rainbow Dash was completely wiped out! She had gone through the most intense work out she ever had done. All she had done over the week was sleep, eat, train and learn.
But she did get to talk to Soarin because he was helping her get used to everything. It seemed that everyday he was getting friendlier and friendlier! Although she started to have feeling for him she was trying to just ignore the feelings so that he wouldn't start to notice. He was teaching her some new tricks though, which Rainbow Dash thought was pretty cool. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was 5am and the Rainbow maned mare had to wake up to start the next week of her training. Spitfire had said that now she was a bit more used to the training she would go a little lighter on her, Rainbow Dash was so relieved when she herd that.
She looked at the alarm clock on her bed side table, it said 5:10am. So she rushed into her bathroom and hopped into the shower, which was mad of rainclouds and cloud glass which was a special type of glass made of clouds and pure white sand. She took only a couple of minutes and hopped back out. She looked at her self in the mirror and realised that her hair was getting a bit long for her liking so she would have to go an see her friend Rarity and ask her to cut it.
She quickly dried her hair and but put her costume on, which was a pain to put on because they are made for speed and agility. Once they were on they felt really compertable but it was a pain to put on because they were so tight. As she was putting on her costume she thought what it would be like for Surprise to put her costume on because of her of her surprisingly like pinkies hair but golden. All that fluffiness must be hard to get into the head piece that they are required to wear.
After she quickly put on her suit she flew out of her room at full speed almost making a sonic rainboom, she knew if she did she could reck the hallway because the Sonic Rainboom was was like fire and the boom rattled Cloudsdale the last she did one. She managed to slow down just enough not to obliterate the door opening into the mess hall.
Rainbow Dash found the tray that had her name on and looked around for a spot.
Soarin called her over "Hey Rainbow Dash, come sit over here with us." He said with his goofy grin on his face.
She nodded and said " Ok Soarin, but i can't sit for long because my training starts in just over 15 minutes.''
So she sat down and started to eat her breakfast that consisted of oats, cows milk, a banana, a fruit bowl and a tiny chocolate bar because Spitfire wasn't completely harsh. As she was eating they started to talk about their training. Rainbow Dash was stretching her wings out whilst they were talking, then she suddenly heard a loud 'CRACK!!!' Before Soarin knew it Rainbow Dash fell on the ground in agony. Her wing was bent out of shape, her feathers were slightly mangled and there was heavy bleeding at the joint because of the way her wing was bent and the fact that the the skin was completely torn through to the bone.
Soarin and the rest of the Wonderbolts looked in shock at what just happened, they were all speechless at what they just saw and heard. Soarin quickly went down on to the ground and started looking at her wing, after a second of looking at her wing and accidentally touching her wing which resulted in getting a slap from Rainbow Dash, he said with great panic in his voice "SOMEONE GO AND GET THE MEDICAL TEAM THIS IS SERIOUS!"' Misty Fly and FleetFoot shot off to the medical bay, leaving behind two solid streaks.
He saw the look on Rainbow Dash's face, it was a look of shear terror and there were tears rolling down her tightly closed eyes! One minute they were just talking and laughing at the strict training schedule Spitfire had made for everyone and the next minute she was on the ground in agony, crying and curled up in a ball with her wing sticking out.
He draped a wing around her and started stroking her mane trying to comfort her. Whilst trying to comfort her he said calmly "please don't cry Rainbow Dash, everything will be alright!"
Rainbow Dash smiled weakly and tried to lift a hoof to hug Soarin, before she passed out from the intense pain coming from her wing and spine.
Soarin was looked at her with a goofy smile so big that he would of made Pinkie Pie proud. When she passed out her hoof was laying limply around Soarin's neck and curled up in a ball on his lap. Just as she passed out Spitfire came flying into the mess hall to see why Rainbow Dash wasn't out on the training field.
Spitfire said in an angry tone "What the buck is going on Soarin!'' Her temper about to explode at the sight she saw. Soarin was on the floor with his coat slightly stained crimson red, Rainbow Dash curled up in a ball on his lap with a broken wing sticking out and her hoof laying limply on Soarin's shoulder. Wonderbolts were standing around them in a semi-circle with mixed looks on their faces.
' Spitfire, Rainbow dash has seriously hurt her wing, maybe her spine. She passed out from the all of the pain!" Soarin said with a still panicked tone.
"Well then... where is the medical team!" she retorted still angry.
As she was speaking the medical team, Misty Fly and FleetFoot arrived and came into the mess hall. They picked her up gently as they could out of oar in's lap and put her onto the cloud stretcher. They were now waiting to get the order from Spitfire.
Soarin said in a 'do not mess around with me right now' tone "Spitfire I am going to go with Rainbow Dash and the others to the medical wing."
Before Spitfire had a chance to say anything Soarin signalled the team to go, so they left and Spitfire's was thinking ''What just happened and does Soarin like... Rainbow Dash?"
Soarin, Fleetfoot and Misty Fly made their way to the medical wing but Rainbow Dash was no where to be seen. They looked around for a while and still there was no sign of the Rainbow maned mare.
Soarin was getting really annoyed and asked a doctor that was passing by looking at a clipboard " Excuse me doctor but where is Rainbow Dash?"
The doctor replied in a worried tone " Didn't Captain Spitfire tell you that Rainbow Dash was taken to The Royal Canterlot Hospital?"
"No Captain Spitfire didn't say that Rainbow Dash was moved." Soarin replied in a angry voice. They thanked the actor for the information and sped off to The Royal Canterlot Hospital. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They got to the hospital in a matter of minutes. They nearly slammed into the double doors when they stopped.
Fleetfoot said in a light heard tone "If we're not careful we will end up in the hospital as well!" Misty Fly started laughing and Soarin just looked more determined.
Mistly Fly saw him and asked "Whats wrong Soarin it was just a joke!?"
"Its not that its just Spitfire didn't tell us that Rainbow Dash was moved here a...and I'm really worried for Rainbow Dash's condition!" He nearly shouted and tears started to form in his eyes.
Misty Fly went over to him and put a hoof on his shoulder and said in a kind voice "You really like her don't you?" Soarin lowered his head and nodded his head.
"We should go in before we attract a crowd!" Fleetfoot said with a chuckle.
They went in and got a few gasps and smiles, they realised that they were still wearing their full uniform. They didn't care and walked up to the front desk
"Excuse me ma'am but we were wondering if you could tell us where Rainbow dash is" Fleetfoot said.
The mare at the front desk replied "Welcome WonderBolts, please give me a second to find the number to her room..... i'm sorry i can't find her number she was brought here in such a rush that no one told me her room number. I'm sorry i couldn't be of any help... but i guess its worth a try to look in the emergency ward?"
Soarin couldn't speak so Misty Fly spoke up "Thank you for your help" she said with a smile.
They turned around and went looking for the emergency ward.
They finally got to the emergency ward and looked around. They still couldn't find her so they went and asked a near by nurse "Excuse me Miss but you wouldn't happen to know where Rainbow Dash is?"
There nurse responded in a worried tone "Rainbow Dash.... Ah yes the WonderBolt! She went in for-"
But before she could finish Soarin interrupted "Surgery!?!?"
"No Sir I was going to say, she went in for some X-rays" The nurse replied still in a worried tone.
Soarin asked cautiously "Is her wing really that badly hurt!?" Sitting down on the floor and slightly drooping his head
"No one knows Sir, no one knows" The nurse said before walking off.
They silently went to the waiting room and asked the pony at the front desk to tell them when Rainbow Dash came back from the X-rays.
After a while of waiting and Surprise coming along to see how Rainbow Dash was doing, also playing a few games of BattleCloud which Surprise pulled out of nowhere (Surprise is Pinkie Pie's cousin, so she is totally weird and random). The mare from the front desk came and told them that Rainbow Dash was out of X-rays and was back in the emergency ward. Again they thanked the mare and trotted into the emergency ward.
When they got to her bed they were surprised that she had been put into a special bed that was completely made out of the softest clouds known to pegisi, her wing was suspended from the roof also her wing was in a thick temporary cast. They waited a for a bit to see if she gave any response but there was none. So Surprise got too bored waiting so she decided to prod her, but the only response they got was a slight ear flicker.
After a while of seeing if Rainbow Dash was going to wake up they ended up agreeing that they would come and visit her in the morning.
They were getting ready to leave when soarin spoke up "Hey guys I'm gonna stay here tonight with her just incase she wakes up." the others silently nodded fully knowing that Soarin had feelings towards Rainbow Dash.
They all said their goodbyes to Soarin and took off. Soarin went and pulled up a chair next to he cloud bed. Soarin gently whispered into her ear " Hey Rainbow Dash its me Soarin, you probably can't hear me but I am going to stay next to you the whole night a...and I...I LOVE YOU!!" He didn't know if Rainbow Dash heard what he said but he knew telling Rainbow Dash that he loved her was in his mind the right thing to say.
He lowered his head onto the soft cloud bed and before he knew it he was sound asleep, Rainbow Dash's mouth formed a small smile! Little did Soarin know that Spitfire was on the other side of the door, she was about to come in but when she heard what Soarin said to Rainbow Dash she froze to the spot and tears started to form in her eyes. Spitfire thought to herself "Rainbow Dash I SWEAR I will MAKE your life at the WonderBolts A LIVING TARTARUS!!"
Over the week Soarin stayed at Rainbow Dash's bed, the only time Soarin left her bed was to go to the toilet and then he was straight back at her side. Spitfire even tried to take him back to the wonderbolt HQ but he refused to move.
Soarin was getting more and more worried as the days went by and the surgery she went in for didn't help his anxiety. The rainbow maned mare had to get some reconstruction at the joint and at the middle of the wing. she was in surgery for 3 hours and the whole time soarin was annoyed, confused and just plain tired!
about an hour in to her surgery Twilight and her friends came into the waiting room. Pinkie Pie and Rarity went and sat down on the floor, well Pinkie Pie did but Rarity summoned a pillow and sat down to play battle cloud. Fluttershy was crying and Applejack was trying to comfort and calm her down, and Twilight was lost in a book called 'How To Heal A Wing'.
after about half an hour twilight finished reading her book and she was about to get another one out when she saw the stallion pacing around nearly making a groove in the floor, so she spoke up "Soarin whats the matter?"
"Sorry Princess Twilight I'm just worried about Rainbow Dash! She has been in surgery for over an hour and a half, and I'm annoyed at spitfire!" he said his coat going a little darker than usual and his mane going a little lighter.
Twilight replied "Well she has to get reconstruction on her wing and why are you angry at Spitfire?"
"Yeah why are you angry at me?" Spitfire said walking into the waiting room. Twilight and Soarin turned around in surprise to see the captain of the Wonderbolts standing there.
Soarin's coat and mane now the same colour he said icily "I'm angry at you because you yelled at me when Rainbow Dash passed out and was curled up in my lap. Then Misty Fly, Fleetfoot and I had to look around the medical wing for half an hour then ask a doctor where she was!, and if I didn't send letters to Princess Twilight and her friends they probably wouldn't of known that Rainbow Dash was even in hospital! She hasn't had a chance to send any letters to her frieds at all because the schedule you have for her meant she had literally no free time and everypony at HQ knows that we NEVER had to go through that much training in one week, and you know what your probably the reason Rainbow Dash is in surgery right now!"
Spitfire was taken back but she replied with an ever icier tone "I yelled because i didn't know what was going on and i didn't tell you because i had to go and do some paper work! My training schedule wasn't that hard everyone at the HQ could have done the schedule! It was HER fault that she broke her wing not mine!" Her mane was now smoking!
"No Spitfire you weren't busy you just didn't care and yes most of us at the HQ could of done your schedule but not Rainbow she was new and she is a rookie! we have done that sort of training for years but she had only done training with us for a couple of weeks!" his mane was now a very pale white and it stood up on end like icicles, and his coat was now midnight blue and it was straight and shiny!
"She is a rookie and i don't care if she couldn't handle her training she is the so called 'fastest and best flier in Equestria'! I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID TO HER!" Spitfire shouted her mane how on fire!
"You know what Spitfire! I said that because I DO!" Soarin was so angry that it was getting cold in the waiting room.
"Why do you, she is a pathetic excuse for a mare!" it was also starting to get very hot in the waiting room.
"Because I do and she is everything you will NEVER BE!!!" Ice clouds started forming.
Before spitfire had a chance to shout back applejack shouted "Who are you to call Rainbow Dash a 'pathetic excuse for a mare'! She is the ELEMENT OF LOYALTY for Celestia's sake! And like soarin said she is everything you will never be!!! Applejacks hair how in flames as well!
Soarin piped up and stood next to applejack "SPITFIRE I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND YOU WERE LIKE MY SISTER BUT NOW YOU ARE JUST A COMPLETE AND UTTER COW! I WILL CALL A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON THE GROUNDS OF YOU BEING A BAD CAPTAIN OF THE WONDERBOLTS IF YOU DONT STOP BEING MEAN TO RAINBOW DASH!!! NOW GO AWAY!!!" Soarin's eyes were white and Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Twilight and Fluttershy were standing in an attacking stance behind Soarin.
Spitfire was cowering in fear and what Soarin said had sunk in! She turned around and walked cautiously out of the room. When Soarin was sure that Spitfire was gone he collapsed down on the floor and passed out from all the energy he used! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soarin woke up about 3 hours later, his head was spinning and he had a big headache. He sat up and looked around the room, he looked to this left and stopped. He saw the most beautiful sight in Equestria, The Rainbow maned mare was lying there looking at peace, her hair was brushed back for the first time ever. He couldn't say the same for her wing though, it was in a cast and blood just managed to seep through.
He went over to the mare and draped a wing over her. The next thing he knew 10 ponies were in the room, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, fluttershy, Rapidfire, Misty Fly, Fleetfoot and 2 nurses. All around the room there were aww's. They sat down and the 2 nurses went about changing Rainbow Dash's cast.
Everypony started talking even the nurses. Once the nurses were done they put a needle into Rainbow Dash's arm and one of the nurses went over to soarin and changed the bandage on his head. As the nurse was changing the bandage on his head he asked "What did you put in rainbow dash's arm?" The nurse replied in a calm tone "It was just some medicine to put Rainbow Dash's body out of repair mode." The nurses said to keep the noise down low for when rainbow dash woke up and left.
After a couple of minutes the Rainbow Maned mare woke up. she blinked a couple of times and looked around, as soon as she saw the bathroom she ran to it and closed the door. Misty Fly spoke up "well that was awkward..." as soon as she said that she fell on the ground laughing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Rainbow Dash returned she said "Whats up guys?" Twilight said "Hi Rainbow Dash glad to see that your awake!" as Twilight said that Pinkie Pie came down from the celling and hugged Rainbow. "ooff, hi Pinkie Pie.." rainbow managed to say before throwing off pinkie pie. Soarin said happily "Glad to see that your finally awake" at that Rainbow Dash smiled then promptly fell asleep. "Or not...." He said then everyone laughed and Soarin placed his wing back over the mare and fell asleep as well
A couple of days later Soarin was allowed to leave hospital but he still wanted to stay by Rainbow Dash so he checked out and went straight back to Rainbow's room. He passed several nurses along the way but he didn't take any notice of them blushing and almost falling over. They just felt like fans to him, the only mare he really cared for was Rainbow Dash! She was such a unique mare and the only mare to pull off a SONIC RAINBOOM in over a century.
He rounded the corner and saw a little flower shop, he went over to it and asked "Could I get a buque specially made into a Rainbow please?"
"Sure sir any particular colours for the Rainbow?" the flower mare asked.
"Um... yeah, could I get the rainbow in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple please" He said trying to think of the colours of Rainbows mane. The flower mare was very quick i guess it helped that she was a unicorn, once she was done getting the flowers she asked again
"Any particular colour for the paper?"
This was a hard choice should he go with white or should he go with cyan. Once he made his mind up he said "Is it possible for the flowers to be wrapped in white and cyan?" The unicorn modded her head and got to work. Within minutes the buque was ready. Soarin got out his bit bag and gave the unicorn 6 bits, he thanked the flower unicorn and he was on his way.
He went up the elevator to the the second floor and came to room 42, Soarin knocked on the door and entered. There in the bed was none other than the Rainbow Maned mare herself. He walked over to the bed and said in the kindest tone he could do "Hi Dashie- SORRY i mean Rainbow Dash... I brought you some flowers!"
She was starting to wake up when she heard Soarin's voice, she blushed and threw her front hooves over the pale blue stallion, she burrowed her head deep into Soarin's mane and started to cry. Soarin was taken back by Rainbow because she never cried, NEVER! He hugged her back and started to stroke her mane. They stayed like this for a while until Soarin asked "Dashie- SORRY, Rainbow are you ok?" His voice was deep with concern
"Sorry.... Soarin why do you care for me? I herd what you said when I was unconscious, Why don't you go and be with someone who actually means something!" She replied still crying. Soarin was heart wrenched at those words 'why don't you go and be with someone who actually means something!'.
He said mustering up as much courage a he could "NO!, you do don't mean nothing! T..TO ME YOU M...MEAN... EVERYTHING!" She stopped crying into His mane and looked at Soarin. He continued "Rainbow you are like the
light to my darkness
the happiness to my sorrow
the sun to my moon
the heaven to my hell
the optimism to my pessimism I NEVER want to let you go! I-I LOVE YOU!" Rainbow never thought that Soarin would say that to her!
Rainbow said "Soarin I-" Before Rainbow could say anything else Soarin leaned down and their muzzles connected. Rainbow's eyes were as big as plates, she realised that soarin was kissing her. She closed her eyes and kissed back.
After about a minute or two Soarin pulled back, he realised what he did, his face and ears were bright red and he said "Sorry Rainbow I don't kn-" Rainbow stopped soarin.
She said "I LOVE you too!" then Rainbow kissed him back. This time Rainbow knew how she felt, she knew that she loved Soarin and that she would never let him go. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple of hours later, Soarin and Rainbow Dash were laying on the balcony that was connected to her room, Rainbow Dash was laying peacefully on Soarins shoulder and Soarin had a wing over her protectively. Soarin was looking at Canterlot and thought to himself 'Wow, Canterlot really does look beautiful in the evening! but not as beautiful as Dashie!' he looked down at the Rainbow maned mare, he didn't want to disturb her but he wanted her to see the sunset. He carefully nudged her and whispered "Dashie wake up, the sun is setting".
She woke up from her doze and smiled at Soarin and said "ok".
They both looked at the sun, Rainbow looked to the castle and she saw both Princesses lowering the sun and raising the moon. The Rainbow maned mare looked back at the sunset and it was a sight she would never forget. As the sun was setting behind the mountains she looked at Soarin and he looked back at her their muzzles were only inches away, then soarin leaned in and their muzzles connected.
They kissed for a bit before Soarin said "I never got the chance to say thank you for saving my life and my pie, also Thank You for coming into my life! This is got to be the best evening of my life so far!" He nuzzled her on the cheek.
"No, Thank you Soarin, you have been there for me and you helped me get through the first week of training, no thanks to a certain captain. Anyway you are one of the best things that has happened to my life and i don't want to loose you like i lost my sister and my mother." She remembered that she lost her sister and her mother to her dad who abused her for years until he was put in the dungeons for homicide. The Rainbow maned mare started crying again.
Soarin tried to comfort her but that did little effect. Soarin asked "What happened to you mother and sister?" Rainbow Dash looked at Soarin half in shock and half in confusion.
"Don't you know what happened to them?" She replied
Soarin shook his head and said "If I remember correctly the news paper reported that they died in an accident and nothing else."
"Its too painful to tell you right now, i'll tell you another time. Anyway you are one of the best things that has happened in my life and I Love You!" She said giving soarin a strong kiss.
Soarin pulled rainbow into a hug and whispered into her ear so no one could hear "I know Dashie I know" He pulled back and looked up at the stars "I think I can see your element Dashie" He said looking up. He looked down at the mare and noticed that she had fallen asleep, he nuzzled her cheek and carefully put her onto his back and walked inside.
He placed the sleeping mare down onto the cloud hospital bed and he placed the covers over her. He was debating whether to climb into bed with her, the thought 'Should i climb in with her or not? the bed is big enough for both of us... you know what i will'. He lifted the cover and slid under, he wrapped his wing around her protectively and the mare smiled. He nuzzled her lightly and their hooves connected. As Soarin was falling asleep he was thinking that he was next to the most beautiful sight in the entire world, he fell asleep moments later thinking of the Rainbow maned mare.
The next morning Soarin woke up and to find that he wasn't dreaming that he was sleeping next to the Rainbow maned mare, his wing was still wrapped around her but she wasn't smiling her face had fear and guilt written all over it. Soorin decided that he would go and talk to Princess Luna, it was only 5am so the sun wouldn't be coming up for another half an hour. he carefully removed his wing and stroked Rainbows mane out of her face, he nuzzled her softly which made her smile for a second then her face went back to fear and guilt. He got out of bed silently and went and found a piece of parchment and a quill and wrote
Dear Dashie,
If your reading this then its because I have gone to see Princess Luna about something.
Hopefully I won't be gone to long, stay calm I'm not going anywhere! =)

He put the letter on the bedside table, gave Rainbow Dash a quick kiss and flew out of the balcony.
When he got to the castle he went into the main hall and requested that he could talk to Princess Luna, being a Wonderbolt has some perks he thought to himself. A couple of minutes later and Princess Luna entered and sat on the throne which changed colour to match her necklace and crown, the Sun on the banner changed to a Crescent just like the Princess's cutie mark.
Princess Luna broke the silence "Hello Wonderbolt, how may we be of service?"
Soarin bowed to the Lunar sister and said "Your Highness, I have come here to ask you if you could tell me what Rainbow Dash dreams about."
"Why prey tell does thou want to know what Miss Rainbow Dash is dreaming about?" a look of curiosity and slight disgust on her face.
Soarin said nervously "Your highness its not what you think, Rainbow Dash is in hospital because she broke her wing in several places, she had to go in for surgery for some reconstruction, anyway I haven't left her side at all and every night she seems to have nightmare's. I know that everypony gets nightmares but Rainbow Dash is getting them every night! I am really concerned for her but every time I ask she told me that it was nothing but it obviously is something!" He was practically shouting now.
The Lunar Princess thought for a minute and then said "If thou wishes to see Miss Rainbow Dash's dreams then we will show thou but be warned these nightmare's Miss Rainbow Dash is having are uncontrollable, not even we can control them and we have had over a thousand years of practice, not to mention dangerous."
" Don't worry your Highness whatever her dreams throw at me I'm sure that i can handle it!" Soarin said with the most confidence he could muster.
"As you wish, follow us" The Solar Princess instructed. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About five minutes later they were standing on a balcony, the Princesses horn started to glow and suddenly they were in Rainbow Dash's dream.
It was a truly unpleasant sight, Captain Spitfire and Rainbow's demented dad were standing together and there were two bodies lying on the ground Soarin asked Princess Luna "What is going on here your Highness?"
The Solar Princess did not want to say but she forced it out "Soarin this is a moment that Miss Rainbow Dash has experienced, this was the moment where Rainbow Dash saw her father Lightning Dust murder her Mother and Sister. Miss Dash actually got hurt, there is a scar along the side of her stomach because Lightning Dust attacked her, Miss Dash managed to throw her father off but he was getting ready to pounce on her. If Miss Dash had not sent a letter to my Sister then Miss Dash over there would be dead. Right now Spitfire is one of Miss Dash's worst nightmares because of all the training she put Miss Dash through, so it is only natural that Captain Spitfire is here." Soarin was stunned by what the Solar Princess said.
Soarin said back in a nervous voice "Is there anyway for me to stop this dream?" He was filled with hope.
"We are sorry Soarin but thou can not inter fear with this dream now Miss Dash is far to involved with her dream, the only thing thou can do is to fly back to canterlot hospital and wake her up in time." Princess Luna said and her horn glowed once again and they were standing back on the balcony.
Soarin bowed to Princess luna and said "Thank you Princess, for showing me Rainbow's dream I must get going now" "It is quite alright Soarin we hope that you get there in time!" The Lunar Princess said.
With the conformation for Soarin to leave, he shot off to Canterlot Hospital at break neck speeds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soarin flew back into the room and shook Rainbow awake. He said "Dashie you need to wake up right now!" His voice was full of panic.
The Rainbow maned mare jumped up and said "Please don't hurt me dad!" She looked at Soarin who was looking really concerned.
Rainbow Dash sat back down on the cloud bed and broke down into tears. Soarin rushed over to her and hugged her tightly.
He said in a really calm voice "Dashie it was just a dream! Its ok now I'm here" He started to stroke the mare's Rainbow mane.
She lifted her head and whispered "Soarin... please help?" Soarin felt really sorry for her, so he put his wings around her and laid down on the cloud bed.
They stayed like this for a while until there was a knock on the door and a nurse with a trolley came in. She put down a tray of food on the bedside table, changed Rainbow's bandages and left the room. Rainbow put the tray on the bed and dove into it. A few minutes later the tray was back on the bedside table, Soarin came back over and laid down next to the mare.
Soarin asked Rainbow Dash "Do you know when you will be let out of the hospital?"
"The Doctor said that I would be let out in a couple of days so not long now" She said stretching her good wing.
Soarin said "One more thing, I saw what happened to your Mother and Sister and I am truly sorry for what happened!" He said Rainbow tear up again and hugged her again.
"T-tha-thank you" the cyan mare said. Soarin again wrapped his wings around her and laid down.
Soarin stroked her mane and whispered "Im here now and I will never leave you! You have nothing to fear anymore, your Father is in the dungeons and he has a life sentence, Spitfire is in the mountains where she can't get to you and you have an awesome job and awesome friends! I will always protect you!" Soarin kissed Rainbow Dash and he filled Rainbow Dash with joy and hope.
"Thank you Soarin for everything and you forgot to mention that you have an awesome marefriend!" Rainbow whispered back and locked muzzles again.
Soarin said "Now there is the Dashie I know and love!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple of days later, just like the Doctor said Rainbow Dash was released from hospital and was allowed to fly again but she wasn't allowed to do any stunts for a couple of days. Rainbow Dash was disappointed that she couldn't do any stunts but she was glad that she was out of hospital.
The cyan mare walked out of the hospital with a certain sky blue stallion. The stallion asked "Hey Dashie, do you think that you can make the trip back to base?"
"To be honest Soarin I don't know, I really don't know but I will try!" Rainbow Dash said, the two Pegasi took off and headed back to base.
They got to base with out any injuries, they touched down in the entrance to the HQ. They walked through the base to Spitfire's office, along the way Rainbow Dash and Soarin got 'Welcome back' from every one they passed. They walked to Spitfire's office and knocked on the door. A voice called out "Enter". They pushed the door open and walked in, they saw Spitfire in her normal uniform. She was signing autographs, Captain spitfire looked up and said "Welcome back you two, now we have 3 shows coming up and we need to get you two up to speed."
"Sorry Captain but I can't do any stunts for about a week, Doctors orders." Rainbow Dash replied with a light smile.
The Captian replied in a strict tone "Alright then Rainbow Dash you are grounded from flying with the rest of the team until such time as your wing heals." Her tone was slightly icy
"Yes Ma'am, what will happen to Soarin?" The cyan mare said in a puzzled tone.
Spitfire replied in her drill sergeant tone "Lieutenant Soarin Skies will return to his schedule. Show season for the wonderbolts will be ending in 4 weeks so you Rainbow Dash will be in that show, but for now you are grounded. Dismissed."
"Yes Ma'am" They both said and walked out the door.
They headed around the corner and Rainbow Dash broke down laughing. Soarin was puzzled as to why Rainbow Dash was laughing so he simply asked "whats so funny Dashie?"
"Sorry Soarin, I just couldn't take Spitfire seriously, her drill sergeant voice doesn't work on me anymore so I though it was really funny." She replied. Soarin simply nodded and they walked to Rainbow's room. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About an hour later and they were laying down on her balcony. Rainbow Said to Soarin "Hey Soarin, do you think that we should put in a request for a double room?"
Soarin looked over to his marefriend and said "I don't see why not, I don't think that there are any rules against Wonderbolts dating to share a room. I think that High Winds and Lightning Streak share a room and they are only engaged." He nuzzled Rainbow Dash on the cheek.
"True, but What about Spitfire, when I was in surgery even though there was a bit of noise I could still hear you argue! You really stood up to her, Thank you." She said hugging him.
Soarin thought about this for a second and the replied "We don't need to worry about her, she isn't the one we will go to see, we have to go to the dorm office to put in an application."
"Ok, are you sure that you want to do this because if you don't want to we can wait a while.."She said putting a hoof to her chin Soarin thought 'If I move in with Dashie we won't be apart, hopefully I can help stop the nightmares and I will get to spend time with her... yeah I will!' "Dashie?" Soarin asked.
rainbow turned her head "yeah?"
"Lets go and put in a request for a double room!" Soarin said standing up.
Rainbow stood up as well "Sure, lets go!"
They walked out of Rainbow's room, Soarin put a wing around Rainbow and she did the same, she also rested her head on his shoulder. They walked down the halls getting 'awes' from everyone, they didn't take much notice of them and continued walking.
They saw a door saying 'Dorm Assignment Office' Rainbow and Soarin were walking over, when Spitfire walking the other way stopped and barked "What do you two think your doing?" Rainbow almost fell on the ground laughing but she manage to restrain herself.
Soarin snapped at Spitfire "We're just walking Ma'am, do you have a problem with that?"
Rainbow snickered and Spitfire growled "Where too Lieutenant?" Spitfires hair was starting to smoke again.
This time Rainbow Dash answered "To the dorm assignment office Ma'am." Rainbows mane starting to flame and he coat was paler.
"Why?!" Spitfire's mane now on fire
Soarin's coat now midnight blue and icy sharp, his mane now pale blue and as sharp as icicles "We are going to get a double room Spitfire!"
"Your going to get a double room with this pathetic mare?!?!"
Soarin was now so angry there were ice clouds around him "YES I AM! SPITFIRE!"
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?" She said her mane was on fire and fire clouds forming.
"SPITFIRE! THE LAST TIME I CHECKED YOU COULDN'T DO A SONIC RAINBOOM AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO QUESTION WHAT SOARIN AND I ARE DOING!!!" Her mane was a rainbow flame and her coat was white. At that moment five team mates came around the corner and stopped.
Spitfire snarled "WELL AT LEAST I DIDNT LET MY MOTHER AND SISTER DIE! AND SEND MY FATHER TO THE DUNGEONS!"
Rainbow's flaming mane went back to normal intact it lost a bit of its colour and her coat went cyan, but her coat was a little duller "Wha... how did you..." Rainbow Dash couldn't finish what she was saying, her ears drooped and she took a few steps back, tears started rolling down her face and she tripped over her tail. Soarin turned around and rushed over to Rainbow Dash, he sat down and hugged his marefriend tightly, he started nuzzling her.
He whispered into her ear so no one could hear "Rain... PLEASE... its going to be ok!" Then he kissed her and a tear rolled down his cheek.
Before Spitfire said anything else Misty Fly, Fleetfoot, High Winds, Rapid Fire and Lightning Streak ran in front of Soarin and Rainbow Dash they flared out their wings!
Misty Fly stepped forwards and screamed at Spitfire "SPITFIRE! HOW DARE YOU NOT ONLY INSULT THE RAINBOW OUT OF RAINBOW DASH, BUT YOU BRING OUT HER PAINFUL CHILDHOOD INTO THIS AND CAUSE HER TO BREAK DOWN!? WHO THE BUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?" Misty Fly's screaming attracted the other team mates.
They came up to the scene and one look at the crying rainbow dash with soarin trying to comfort her, then at the five team mates in front of them and Misty Fly screaming at Spitfire said it all. They all knew that Spitfire was tough but they didn't know that she was a heartless cow!
Surprise and Blaze came running up to Soarin and Rainbow Dash, while the rest of the wonderbolt came up to Spitfire.
Surprise yelled "Somepony go and get a blanket!" High Winds darted off and came back a moment later.
"Here Surprise" Blaze handed Surprise a blanket
Surprise smiled "Thanks Windy!" Surprise laid the blanket over Rainbow Dash and put a hoof over her shoulder. Soarin got up and went over to Spitfire. Soarin was so angry that every step he took ice formed and the atmosphere was very cold!
Some of the wonderbolts manes fiery, icy, Silver Lining's hair went electric, Blaze's hair almost turned into lava, High Wind's mane nearly turned into a mini hurricane. Soarin pushed to the front where Silver Lining, Crescent Moon and Fire Streak were. Soarin roared at Spitfire "Why are you doing this to Rainbow dash?!"
All the people around him went "YEAH"
"Because she is a STUPID excuse for a mare, she has an ego bigger than Equestria and she is too PIG HEADED to see that she doesn't deserve you!!" Surprise and the others managed to calm Rainbow Dash down until Rainbow Dash heard what Spitfire had said about her! She started crying again! Everyone started growling at Spitfire when they saw Rainbow Dash crying again, Blaze hugged Rainbow Dash trying to calm her down.
Soarin roared again at Spitfire "HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!?" His ears were flat and his eyes were starting to glow!
"I said it because its true! SHE let her Mother and Sister die,SHE sent her Father to the dungeons, SHE broke her wing for no reason and SHE is so sensitive that she cries at the tiniest thing!!!"
When Rainbow Dash heard this she couldn't bear to take any more of what Spitfire was saying about her. She whispered "Soarin please help!"
Surprise, Fleetfoot and High Winds helped Rainbow to her hooves. Fleetfoot said "Silver Lining tell Soarin that we are taking Rainbow to her room." Silver Lining nodded and they left.
Silver Lightning walked over to Soarin and said "Soarin, Surprise and the others took Rainbow Dash back to her room, she couldn't take what Spitfire said anymore!" Soarin lowered his head and thanked Silver Lining. After a minute he lifted his head and looked at Spitfire with pure anger!
He growled "Rainbow Dash and I were having a peaceful afternoon, we decided to go and put in a request for a double room, we were walking peacefully enjoying each others company, yes are wings were draped over each other and every team mate we passed said 'awe' we were having a peaceful time. Then you came along and snarled at us just for walking and having our wings draped over each other, and then you go and remind her of her past! I know for a fact that every night Rainbow Dash has nightmare's! I went and asked Princess Luna to show me the nightmare she was having and you know what... it was the day when Rainbow lost her Mother and Sister, and her Father was sent to the dungeons! I saw someone else there as well.. YOU were standing next to her Father and both of you were laughing!" Soarin paused for a moment and then went on "Rainbow got out of hospital today! I was there the whole time, when she was unconscious and conscious! I knew what was happening! she was re-living that day over and over again! Even Princess Luna can't control Rainbow's dreams anymore even though she has had over a thousand years of protecting dreams!! ITS ALL THANKS TO YOU SPITFIRE!! ALL THANKS TO YOU! SHE JUST GOT OUT OF HOSPITAL AND YOU TREATED HER LIKE A BUNCH OF FRUIT BATS ON HARVEST DAY!"
Soarin sat down and tears started rolling down his cheeks, Misty Fly and Blaze went over to him and hugged him, everyone surrounded him. Wave Chill, Silver Lining, Lightning Streak, Fire Streak and Crescent Moon went in front of him. Soarin didn't say anything. After a minute he finally spoke "Spitfire what you did to Rainbow Dash... YOU HEARTLESS COW!!! STAY AWAY FROM RAINBOW DASH OR ELSE!!" He flew off to Rainbow's room.
Soarin arrived at Rainbow's room, he knocked and waited. A voice asked "Who is it?"
Soarin replied in a sarcastic voice "It's Spitfire... who do you think it is?!" The door opened and Soarin got a hoof to the gut.
"Oofff... Fleetfoot what was that for!?" Soarin managed to say
Fleetfoot said angrily "Don't you remember what Spitfire did, or did all those pies finally stuff up your brain?" Soarin just gave Fleetfoot a stare that would rival fluttershy's
"I just want to come in Fleetfoot!" Fleetfoot let him in and Soarin looked around for Rainbow Dash. He found Rainbow Dash curled up in a ball under a blanket on the balcony, He walked over and noticed that Rainbow was looking at Canterlot. She was obviously deep in thought, Soarin walked over and sat down next to her.
Rainbow jumped when Soarin sat down, Soarin looked at Rainbow "Hi Dashie... are you ok now?" He asksd nervously.
She smiled weakly "I think that I'm ok now... what Spitfire said really hurt!" she said looking over the city. Soarin sat and thought for a minute.
Finally he said "Hey dashie? Do you want me to go to the Dorm office?" He looked at Rainbow nervously.
Rainbow replied after a second "Only if you want to..."
"Ok dashie, I'll see what the others are going to do then i'll go" He nuzzled her lightly and went back inside.
Soarin walked over to Fleetfoot, High Winds and Surprise "Hey guys, I'm going to the 'Dorm Assignment Office'. Are you going to stick around here or head off?"
"We are probably going to stick around here for a bit!" Surprise said bouncing around.
Soarin walked out the door "ok, i'll be back in a bit" He walked off.
Soarin got to the 'Dorm Assignment' Office and knocked on the door. He waited a second until he got a "Come in". Soarin entered and sat down in a chair.
The stallion looked up "Hello, what can I do for you?" S oarin looked back "Hi Thunder Cloud, I would like to put in an application for a double room."
"Ok... you and?" Thunder Cloud asked.
Soarin smiled " Me and Rainbow Dash!"
"Ok, usually both the mare and the stallion would come here... Does she give consent?" Thunder Cloud asked concerned.
"Yeah she does give consent. Why do you need her to come here as well?" Soarin had a look of puzzlement on his face.
Thunder Cloud pulled out a form "Yes it would help because Miss Rainbow Dash needs to sign this form as well as you." He was tapping the signature lines on the form.
Soarin tapped a hoof on his chin "I suppose she could come in... but didn't you hear the yelling outside in the hall?"
"Yeah why?" Thunder Cloud nodded.
Soarin forcing himself "Long story short, Rainbow Dash and I were walking to your office when Spitfire stopped us and yelled at us just for walking. Then Spitfire brought up Rainbow's past and that caused Rainbow to start crying! Then Misty Fly, Fleetfoot and three others came running in front of Rainbow Dash and I, Misty started yelling at Spitfire for BUCKING yelling at Rainbow. Then because of Misty Fly's yelling that kinda attracted the other Wonderbolts!" Soarin rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"Spitfire kept on yelling at Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash couldn't take it any more so we had to get her out of there!" Soarin gave a small smile.
After a moment Thunder Cloud responded "I knew the yelling was bad but I didn't realise that it was that bad... Rainbow Dash doesn't have to come in if she doesn't want to." Thunder Cloud smiled.
Soarin thought for a minute and finally "I'll see if she will come in... I'll be back in about five to ten minutes" He got up and walked out into the hall way.
Soarin closed the door to Rainbow's room and went over to her. The Rainbow maned mare was sitting at the cloud table eating a zap apple pie from sweet apple acres, he went over to Rainbow Dash and sat down in the chair next to he.
After a minute Soarin spoke up "Hey dashie..."
"Hey Soarin what's up?" She smiled.
Soarin banged his hooves together nervously "Dashie.. apparently you need to be with me at the office because you need to give your consent in person and sign the form."
Rainbow finished the pie and smiled "ok, lets go!" She got up and walked out the door.
Soarin smiled and shook his head, he thought "one minute she is curled up on the balcony looking as if she is going to start crying, and the next minute she is happily eating a pie and looking like nothing is bothering her! She really is a UNIQUE mare!!"
Rainbow poked her head around the door "Soarin are you coming?" Soarin walked out the door and muttered to himself "Such a unique mare!"
Soarin and Rainbow Dash walked down the hall way, they draped their wings over each other and Rainbow rests her head on Soarin's shoulder. Rainbow looks up at Soarin "Take two!" Rainbow started giggling.
"Lets just hope we don't bump into Spitfire again!" Soarin started giggling as well.
They got to the 'Dorm Assignment' Office door and knocked, Thunder Cloud called "Come In". Soarin and Rainbow Dash entered and sat down in the chairs opposite Thunder Cloud.
Thunder Cloud looked up and smiled "Hello Soarin and Rainbow Dash"
Rainbow Dash smiled back "Hi Thunder Cloud!"
Soarin also smiled back "Hello again Thunder Cloud"
Thunder Cloud pulled out two forms, two quills and an ink pot "Straight to business i guess, these are the forms for the double room and i need you both to sign each form please" Both Soarin and Rainbow Dash picked up the quills and started signing the forms.
After a couple of minutes Rainbow and Soarin were done signing, Soarin said "Her Thunder Cloud all the forms are signed" Soarin pushed the forms to Thunder Cloud.
"Thanks Soarin, ok... give me about an hour and I'll come and find you." Thunder Cloud smiled.
Rainbow Dash nodded "Ok, bye!" They got up and walked out of the office.
Just as Thunder Cloud said about an hour later Thunder Cloud found Rainbow Dash and Soarin sitting together at a table in the Mess Hall (MH). Thunder Cloud went over to them and sat down, he said "Hi Rainbow Dash and Soarin!" Thunder Cloud smiled. "Hi Thunder Cloud! So whats the update?" Rainbow smiled. Thunder Cloud replied "The good news is that your application /has been approved and you can move in now if you want too." Soarin said happily "Thanks Thunder Cloud, where is the room" "Your room is in the North wing, your cutie marks are the doors to your room so your rooms should be easy to find." Thunder Cloud replied. Rainbow replied "Thanks Thunder Cloud I really appreciate this!" Rainbow's smile could rival Pinkie's smile! Soarin and Thunder Cloud shook hooves and Thunder Cloud walked off.
After Soarin and Rainbow Dash finished eating Soarin looked at Rainbow "Hey Dashie, how about we go and get our stuff and meet up at our new room?" "Sure Soarin, I was about to ask the same thing. meet up in about ten then?" Rainbow smiled. Soarin nodded and Rainbow Shot off to her room.
-=+* Rainbow's Room *+=- Rainbow Dash opened her closet and pulled out two bags and put them on her bed. In the first bag she put two flight suits, a casual uniform and some other clothes. In the second bag she put her toothbrush, picture of Soarin, Wonderbolts plush toys (HEY. don't. judge!), a few trophies and medals, 'Best Young Flier' crown and various other items. Rainbow Dash sat on her bed and thought "Wow. I never thought that I would be sharing a room with Soarin! I guess that its going to be fun... I can't believe that I am actually nervous!" She shook her head and picked up her bags, Pillow and blanket. Rainbow Dash looked around the room to see if she missed anything. After a moment she walked out the door and headed down the wing.
-=+* Soarin's Room *+=- Soarin looked around his room, there wasn't to much. He went into his ensuite and pulled out 4 bags, he put the bags down onto his bed. He opened his closet and deposited all of his clothes into the first bag. He opened the bedside draws and got rid of some rubbish, he put the rest of the content into the second bag. He put various awards, trophies and medals into the third bag along with his 'Horse Shoe of Honour', and a picture of Rainbow Dash and his family. Finally in the fourth bag he put a bunch of other things into the bag. He closed all of the bags and he looked around the room. He thought "I have had this room for a good year and it feels weird that I am leaving now... but I get to be with Dashie! Its going to be fun!" Soarin smiled and picked up the bags, Pillow and blanket. He went to the door and looked back to see if he missed anything. Eventually he walked out of the room and walked down the hall.
Soarin and Rainbow Dash meet up at their new room like they said. Soarin chuckled and said "Only three bags Dashie? i thought you would of had more!" Soarin got a hoof to the gut and whined "Totally worth it!" Rainbow snickered and said "Well you have four bags casanova!" Soarin nodded and smiled. Rainbow continued "Why don't we go inside before this gets into hoof to hoof combat?" Soarin nodded and the pushed the door open.
Inside was a cloud table with four chairs, a could sofa, a few cupboards and a hat stand.There was a balcony as there always is. There was a room leading off the main room, in the room was a queen sized bed, two bedside tables, a walk in wardrobe, a few cupboards, a flat screen TV opposite the bed and an ensuite.
They put their bags down on the table and opened them. Rainbow Dash put all of her clothes in the wardrobe. Soarin asked "I'll take the right side of the bed?" "Sure, I don't mind" She smiled and went back to unpacking. Soarin put his pillow on top of the pillows and laid down his blanket on top of the other blankets. Rainbow did the same thing.
After they unpacked they sat down on the balcony. Soarin's wing was draped over Rainbow and she rested her head ob him. Soarin broke the silence "Pretty weird huh dashie?" Rainbow looked up "weird in what way?" "I mean that its weird because we now share a room but its also pretty cool!" Soarin smiled. Rainbow smiled back "Yeah its pretty awesome! Hey Soarin look the sun is setting!" "Yeah, want to watch?" Soarin asked. Rainbow simply nodded and turned to watch the sun set.
As the sun lowered behind the mountain Soarin leaned down and connected muzzles with Rainbow, Soarin picked up Rainbow Dash and went inside. Rainbow pulled back and hugged Soarin. He whispered "Lets go to bed Dashie we have had a loooooong day!" Rainbow nodded and walked into the bedroom, Soarin closed the door behind him and walked over to his side of the bed, Rainbow did the same. Once they were both in bed, Soarin said "Good night Dashie!" Rainbow replied "Good night Soarin" "Dashie call me Soar if you want to I don't mind" Soarin smiled sleepily Rainbow smiled back "Ok, good night Soar!" Soarin kissed Rainbow and wrapped a wing around her. Rainbow smiled and they both fell asleep.
It was close to midnight and everything was silent, all of the Wonderbolts and staff were asleep, the night was cool and perfect for flying conditions. The waterfall was a beautiful light blue, everything was right. The moon shone down on to Equestria, the night sky was lit up like a million fire fly's, the stars twinkled and you could see most of the constellations. The moon was a glistening waxing crescent in the centre of the night sky.
Rainbow Dash and Soarin were peacefully sleeping, Soarin's wings were wrapped around the Rainbow maned mare. Rainbow snuggled up close to Soarin's chest. Everything was peaceful until Rainbow's stomach gave a loud 'rrrrrrr'. The mare shot straight up, pushed Soarin's wings off and quickly looked around.
Rainbow threw back the cover's just far enough to get them off her but not enough to throw them off Soarin. She jumped off and walked over to the balcony and pushed the door open. Rainbow looked around and under the balcony. The only thing she saw was Surprise and Fleetfoot having a sleep over two balcony's to the left. The mare sighed and took off into the midnight blue sky, a few feathers falling off in the process.
Soarin stretched his wings back open to put around Rainbow Dash but when his wing reached over, he only found cloud. He sat straight up and fell of the bed. Soarin slowly got up and rubbed his head moaning. He remembered why he fell off the bed and quickly flew into the centre of the room. He shouted as loud as he dared, "Rainbow?! Where are you?"
He got no response so he looked around and saw the doors to the balcony were wide open. Soarin rushed over to the balcony and found some cyan feathers laying on the cloud. He knew from only a glance at the feathers that they were Rainbow's. Thankfully on the bottom of the feathers there was no blood. He rushed around the balcony looking for any sign of Rainbow, after a moment the was no sign of her. Soarin sat down and whispered, "Rainbow where are you?"
As if to answer Soarin's question Rainbow Dash happened to preform a sonic Rainboom at that exact moment. At night a Sonic Rainboom is completely different; instead of fire it was sparkles and much brighter. Soarin looked up in awe, he had seen a Sonic Rainboom before but never at night. Rainbow flew at break neck speeds around and around and around. Soarin saw Rainbow heading towards a dark cloud, she tried to turn but it was to late. She slammed into the cloud and started falling, Soarin shot of to Rainbow and caught her before she hit the ground.
Soarin carried Rainbow to a near by cloud and sat down. Rainbow shouted, "Ow! Who puts an anvil in a cloud!?"
Surprise jumped up and laughed, "Haha! Sorry Rainbow!" The next second she was fast asleep next to Fleetfoot.
Rainbow pawed at the cloud for a second then she fell onto her back, wings open. Soarin laid down next to her, "Are you ok Rainbow? I thought Surprise was banned from putting surprises in clouds." He tapped his chin with his hoof.
"Im fine, thanks for catching me." She stood up and started walking to the edge of the cloud.
Soarin got up and started walking over, he didn't notice a stray tuft of cloud sticking out. His hoof connected with the tuft of cloud and he fell over on top of Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash was laying on her back with her wings spread wide open, her Rainbow mane draped over her shoulders, the moon light illuminating her perfectly and her cheeks and ears were crimson red. Soarin was standing over her, his mane also draped over his shoulders, his wings hanging limply by his sides and his ears and cheeks deep crimson red.
Soarin was lost in her sparkling magenta eyes and Rainbow Dash was also lost in his glowing Emerald eyes. He eventually blinked and realised what happened. He said sheepishly, "Sorry for tripping Rainbow."
"Its ok Soarin, sorry for crashing into an anvil." Soarin brushed a stray strand of Rainbow mane out of her face with his left hoof.
"Its cool Rainbow. Why were you flying out here at this time?"
"I heard a noise and went to check outside. There was nothing there so I decided to go flying to clear my mind of some issues." Rainbow tried to hide behind her mane like Fluttershy, tears in the corners of her eyes as she was remembering her past and Spitfire.
Soarin was broken as he saw Rainbow Dash, the love of his life, hide behind her mane on the verge of crying. "Rainbow, I'm here for you now and I will always be here for you. Come here." Soarin leaned down and their muzzles connected. He wrapped his wings around her and lifted her closer to him.
They kissed for a minute until they had to break for air. Rainbow remembered why she was woken up and said, "Soarin this might not be the best time to say this but I'm really hungry." Soarin chuckled and helped rainbow Dash on to her hooves.
"Come on then, lets go and get some pie!" He stretched his wings and took to the sky waiting for Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash flapped and stetted her wings individually to check for any damage. Luckily there was no damage and just a bruise on her head. She took to the skies as well. They headed down to the HQ.

Soarin and Rainbow Dash flapped their wings as quietly as they could though into the kitchen. They opened the first fridge and found some vegetables. The next fridge had all sorts of energy drinks and some milk. The third fridge had some set meals for some of the Wonderbolts, Rainbow Dash saw one of the set meals had Spitfire's name on it. She thought for a second and finally looked over to Soarin who was in the firth fridge, "Hey Soarin, I found Spitfire's set meal do you think we could give her a little surprise?"
Soarin looked up from the pies and said, "Yeah why not?" He trotted over with a pie in his hoof. "How about we mix some pie into her porridge, she completely hates pies for some reason and we can replace her juice carton with an energy carton."
"Sounds perfect!" They cut a small piece of Apple pie up and mixed it in with the porridge. Next they carefully pealed off the milk carton label, the put it on the energy carton and placed it back on the tray. Rainbow Dash carefully lifted the tray back on to the shelf. They turned around and went back to looking in the fridges. Rainbow Dash said after a minute of looking, "How about we go and prank some of the other Wonderbolts and eat some pie?"
Soarin's eyes lit up as he smiled wickedly. He trotted over to Rainbow Dash and they planned who they were going to prank and what with. They collected; A sack of flour, a bottle of purple food colouring, three big cartons of custard and a permanent marker. They quickly ate the pie and headed out of the kitchen.
Rainbow Dash and Soarin flew to Surprise's balcony and landed softly on the edge farthest away from the two sleeping mares. They carefully put their bags down trying not to make a noise. They pulled out the permanent markers. Soarin drew clown make up on fleetfoots face and Rainbow drew a Shadowbolt mask on Surprise's face. After they both finished they stepped back, nodded, put on their bags and flew to the Streak's room.
The Streak twins were notorious for their perfectly synchronised performances. Right now Lightning was staying with his brother because he thought it would be a good idea to give his fiancé some space after what happened today. Soarin and Rainbow slowly crept in and drew on their faces, set up a bag of flour over the door and with some of the purple food colouring they drew purple dots on Fire Streak.
They snuck out and hit the rest of the rooms with flour bombs, custard above the door and in slippers and everyone got a drawing on their faces. Rainbow suggested to Soarin, "Hey Soar, I was thinking if we don't want to get dugout then why don't we give each other a funny face with the marker so they won't suspect anything."
"Good idea Rain." Soarin pulled out his marker and drew a Freddy Kruger impression.on her. "Much better." Again he got a hoof to the gut.
Rainbow got out her marker and drew a Jaws bitten impression on his face, "Perfect!" She smiled happily and yawned.
Soarin picked her up in his wings and carried her back to their room, "Let's go to sleep Dashie you need it."
Rainbow said nothing and simply nodded. She curled up into his chest and closed her eyes.
Soarin smiled and walked over to their bed. He flapped his wings and tested around in the air so Soarin was flying on his back and Rainbow was curled up on his chest. He slowly lowered them to the bed and pulled the blankets over them.
Soarin kissed the Rainbow mare in his chest for second and whispered in her ear 'good night Dashie I'm here for you no matter what!' He closed his eyes ad drifted into sleep thinking of Rainbow.
