The sun was starting to rise and a beam of the bright golden sun struck on Discord's face, forcing him to wake up. The birds started singing their morning song which apparently always made Discord gag every morning. Discord moaned and stretched, making weird sounds every time he did. It has been 6 months since Discord has been reformed and he has been living in Celestia's castle ever since.
Out of nowhere, a letter came in from the open window and floated infront of Discord's face. Discord moaned and read it.
Dear Discord,
I have some major tasks for you to do. Please meet me in my throne room in 5 minutes.
Yours truly,
Princess Celestia
"What does she wa-" Discord asked himself before 2 royal guards stormed into his room and dragged him to the princess's throne room. "LET ME GO FOOLS! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! I AM THE LORD OF CHAOS! NOW LET ME GO NOW OR I'LL UNLEASH CHAOS UPON YOU ALL!" Discord hollered while he tried his best to struggle out of the guards' grasps. He tried to teleport out but Celestia has put a spell on the castle which made Discord have the inability to use his magic.
"Well well, you're finally here Discord." Celestia said while signalling for the guards to leave. The guards threw Discord across the room right infront of Celestia before trotting towards the doors and slamming them shut.
Discord got up slowly and brushed the dust off his fur. "I'm sorry for my guards' behavior. I hope you can forgi-" Celestia tried her best to apologize but Discord rudely interrupted her, "HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YO- Oh my...... Celestia- Celestia your Highness I'm so sorry!" Celestia smiled calmly and walked over to Discord. 'It's alright Discord.' She smiled. 'Follow me.' Discord gravely nodded and followed Celestia around the castle. He saw ponies hanging up decorations and practicing for the gala. They were rather chatty and happiness filled the air around him. Discord scoffed and wondered what all this was about.
"Uh whats the purpose of this? Why did you want me here again?" Discord asked, a hit of concern grew on his face.
"Discord, remember the letter?" Celestia asked.
"Yes. You needed me to do an 'Important' task or something stupid thing like that."
"Well, as you know, the Grand Galloping Gala is in 5 days and I need you to clean the castle before the Gala starts."
"WHAT?! CLEAN?! THE 'IMPORTANT' TASK IS CLEANING?! Why dont you use that horn of yours??" Discord said while hitting Celestia's horn. "And may I remind you that my magic is gone because of you."
Celestia sighed. "I had to take away your powers. What if you decide to take advantage of my trust for you?"
"But Im reformed, remember? By....Fluttershy.....' Discord let out a small dreamy sigh and smiled at the thought of Fluttershy. Celestia raised an eyebrow when she noticed Discord's expression. Celestia has always noticed his reactions when a topic involving fluttershy was brought up. Could the God of Chaos be possibly in love? Celestia cleared her throat. With that, Discord broke out of his trance and straightened up. He pretended like nothing happened, although he was blushing uncontrollably.
"I believe you'll do a good job in cleaning the castle. I have to visit Princess Cadance for a while. I'll leave my sister in charge." Celestia announced before flying off to the Crystal Empire.
A dark blue alicorn soon appeared behind Discord with a mop, two buckets of water, a broom and another bucket with a cloth.
"You better start working on it," Princess Luna smirked.
Discord rolled his eyes but took the cleaning equipment gravely. "Yes, your highness." Discord bowed, at the same time making the water from the buckets spill. Discord groaned. "Didn't think that one through!"
Celestia, Cadence and Shining Armour sat around a rather grand, circular table in the Crystal Castle. Celestia asked Cadance and Shining Armour if she could discuss something and they agreed. "Um, if I may ask Princess Celestia but what exactly do you want to discuss with us?" Shining Armour asked while his wife nodded in agreement.
"Well, as you might or might not know Discord is free bu-"
"WHAT?!" The couple shouted in Celestia's face, throwing spit in front of the poor highness's face. "HOW DID HE BREAK FREE?! IF HE HAS DONE SOMETHING WRONG TO MY SISTER OR ALL OF MY FRIENDS IM GOING TO-!" Shining Armour practically spat, raising up from his seat and swinging his hoof infront of Celestia's face but stopped immediately when Celestia raised her hoof signalling for him to calm down. Princess Cadance was too shocked to stop her husband.
"I assure you that Discord has changed. He has done nothing to Equestria and has not harmed Twilight or her friends, for now....but I do believe he has feelings for one of them." Celestia explained. Silence filled the room but Cadence was the one who broke it. "D-d-discord has f-f-f-feelings for one of Twilight's f-f-friends? Who will t-that be may I ask?"
"I'm not really certain on who exactlly but I have a feeling that it's Fluttershy. However, like I said, I'm not certain." Celestia replied calmly whiel turning to Cadance's suprised face. "That's where I need your help Cadence."
With that, Cadence cleared her throat and placed a hoof on Shining Armour's shoulder, beckoning for him to sit down. Cadence calmed down and said, "Of course I will help your highness but what I need is a DNA sample of some sort. A strand of hair or..."
"I got it right here." Celestia replied, while taking out a blue feather from her saddlebag. She placed it on the table. She then giggled at the memory of how she got the feather.
Celestia and Shining Armour watched with alluring eyes as Cadence used her magic on the feather.The feather started to glow a light purple shade. The feather then slowly started to float above the table top and shined very brightly, blinding the three of them and burned into a pile of ash which slowly fell and piled up onto the table. The two of them looked at Cadence who was surprisingly grinning with amusement. "Wow, I never knew Discord could fall in love..." Cadence said with a bit of happiness in her tone. She stared at the two ponies who were grinning as well.
"I KNEW IT!" Celestia raised from her seat and slammed the table with her hoof, causing it to shake. "That softie!" she said with a giggle. The rest couldn't help but laugh with the Princess of the Sun.
"May I ask why do you want to know so much?" Shining Armour looked at Celestia, still smiling. "Well that's because I have a plan." Celestia grinned. She then, with no hesistation explained her plan to them, grinning throughout.
Discord sighed in relief. He finally finished his job. Cleaning the castle and making sure every window was sparkly shining, every inch of the floor glistering with radiance and no signs of dust to be seen throughout the whole castle. He looked back at his work and nodded in agreement. "Discord you have outdone yourself this time," he praised himself. He decided to slowly go back to his room when Celestia called out his name. She had brought Cadance and Shining Armour with her. Discord was surprised but approached them anyway and greeted them.
"Ah! You've finally returned. And I see you've brought...guests." Discord said cooly before greeting them again with a smile. "Do you like what i've done to the place?"
Discord stepped aside to reveal his work. Celestia smiled at Discord and nodded her head but the other two exchanged looks and stared at Discord. "You did this yourself?" Shining asked in disbelief.
"Why yes. Is it too much? It's too much, isn't it? I know it's to much. Just say it, it's too much."
"Its just fine Discord. Its amazing. Amazing enough that maybe you could earn something from this?" Cadance giggled and nudged Celestia and Shining softly.
Discord raised an eyebrow at the sound of that. "Its not bits, right?"
"Oh no, nothing like that. But perhaps, maybe an invitation to...I don't know...the Gala perhaps?" Celestia smirked trying her best to hide her need to laugh.
"WHAT?! Oh no can do your highness. As much as i 'love' hanging out with snobby ponies like yourself but I'll pass. Anyways I- wait just one split second. This is a prank, isnt it? I know it is. You cant fool me! I've created pranks!" Discord accused.
"What?! No! No it's not! We promise!" Shining confirmed. "We just want to help you!" Cadance continued.
"Help? Help?! The spirit of chaos and disharmony doesn't need help from any pony at all!" Discord growled.
"Well... maybe you don't but you might want to see some pony who will be at the Gala. A pony you care about, alot," Celestia admitted.
"Oh yeah? And who will that be?" Discord scoffed, inamused with such tactics these ponies are doing in order to persuade him to go to the Gala.
"Oh I don't know. Perhaps a pegasus with a yellow coat, a pink mane and beautiful teal eyes. The pony who reformed you maybe," Clestia teased. Discord blushed at the discription and immediately turned his back against the ponies. "Fluttershy..." he said with another dreamy sigh. He could feel his cheeks turning bright pink. "What makes you think i want to see her?" he replied.
"We know about your feelings for Fluttershy and we want to help you." Cadance admitted, feeling a little guilty. "And you definitely don't want to feel lonely ever again. Loneliness is the worst feeling you can have in your life." a mysterious voice came from behind them. "Luna!" Celestia squeeled. "Why are you eavesdropping?!"
"What do you think sis?" Luna answered sarcastically.
Discord looked at the four of them in embarrassment. "Alright alright fine i'll accept the invitation to the Gala." Discord answered coldly. "Is there anything else?"
"Well there is one more thing.Your not going to the Gala as a draconequus but as a pony. We will put a spell on you that will change you into a pony for a while."
"But I can change into a pony whenever I want!" Discord argued. "You will still have your...err...disformed features as well. I'm sorry but you need to be changed into a pony for a while,"Celestia explained. "Argh! Fine, whatever! When will you change me into a pony?" Discord asked with irritation.
"The day before the gala. And at 11 o-clock sharp. Dont be late!" Cadance instructed.
It was finally the day before the Gala. Ponies were running about frantically, making sure everything was ready and set for tomorrow. Ever since Princess Twilight Sparkle was in charge of this year's Gala, she has been super busy about it. She had to make this Gala the best! She also promised, no, she pinkie promised that her friends would have an amazing time at the Gala but she has been so caught up with her work that she did not even realize about the importance of the princesses, Cadence, Shining, Discord or even herself.
While Twilight was making sure everything was going alright, she bumped into her big brother. "Twily!" her brother exclaimed.
"Shining? Cadence!" Twilight ran towards her sister-in-law.
"Twilight!" Cadence and Twilight exclaimed, and started doing their traditional greetings.
"Sunshine Sunshine, Ladybugs Awake, Clap Your Hooves And Do A Little Shake!""What are you guys doing here?" The purple princess questioned.
"We have some important business to discuss with Celestia and Luna." Shining answered. "But enough about us. How about you Twily? You've become a princess! How does feel like?"
"Stressful and tiresome...but fun! I still can't believe I'm a princess! And now, I'm in charge of the Gala! And when did you guys get here? I really missed you guys! I haven't seen you two ever since the coronation! I really missed you!" Twilight hugged them both, trying to hold back her tears.
"We missed you too Twily!" Shining said before he and Cadence returned her hug. "And we're definitely sure you would make an amazing princess and of course a wonderful Gala." Cadence added. " Have you picked out a dress yet?" Twilight's eyes widened. She has been so caught up in the Gala that she had forgotten about herself. "Oh no! A dress! I forgotten about my dress! Oh well, maybe Rarity will help me with the dress. Its nice meeting you two again. I'll meet you at the Gala tomorrow! See Ya!" Twilight mentioned before running towards the train station.
"Um.. Cadance. Shining. I'ts time." Celestia came out from behind them and brought both of them to the throne room where Discord and Luna were sitting and waiting impatiently.
Discord looked at them nervously while they got ready to cast the spell. "I've got a bad feeling about this..." Discord said under his small and distant breaths. "Are you sure this will work?"
"Positive." Celestia assured. "Cast the spell on the count of 3...1..."
Discord took a deep breath and slowly rubbed his hooves together. "...2..." Discord's mind flashed with images of how he will look like. "...3." Discord closed his eyes. He felt his body tingling. His paws and claws slowly turning into hooves, his neck becoming shorter, his wings becoming smaller. He has never felt this wierd before in his whole life.
When there was complete silence, he slowly opened his eyes. He looked at the princesses in awe which had their jaws dropped and their eyes full of shoked. "We-" He quickly covered his mouth. His voice was deepened. He looked at his reflection and he too had the same expression as the princesses. He was an alicorn! His coat was a shining coat of grey, his mane was pitch black with red alluring tips. His eyes were amber red. He even had a cutiemark! It was a heart which was made out of fire and ice. He couldn't believe his eyes! He had to admit, he was good looking, for an alicorn that is.
"Ahem, well well Discord , I hope your happy with your look!" Shining said calmly, breaking the awkward silence.
"Very. So how long will this spell last?" Discord asked.
"Tomorrow, till midnight, so I suggest you leave the Gala early." Celestia advised.
"Midnight?! Why is it always midnight. Its so typical and old.' Discord scoffed. Why can't it be noon or dusk? Discord complained. "Well I guess that's it then." he sighed deeply.
"Not quite. You have a backstory and you NEED to follow this backstory. You're Prince Strife from Baltimare. You're our brother and is visiting Canterlot for a few days." Luna explained.
"Your BROTHER?!" Discord scoffed. He didn't like the idea of being related to Celestia at all but if he doesn't, who knows what Fluttershy would think of him. Soft, desperate? Besides, it's only for a day...right? "Is that all?" he asked gravely.
"Oh wait! You need a tux if you want to impress Fluttershy," Shining nudged Discord's shoulder and walked out, signaling Discord to join. Discord groaned and followed Shining out.
After the door closed, the three princesses looked at each other and smiled. "I have to admit, he does look very handsome. I'm sure Fluttershy would definitely fall for him." Cadence said with a chuckle.
"I just hope her friends will accept him as well," Luna added, smiling.
Discord started to get restless. "Where is she? Where is she? Where is- ow," Shining Armour nudged him. Discord was in his tux with Shining Armour, Princess Cadance, Luna and Celestia, who were waiting at the entrance of the Canterlot Castle greeting other ponies and welcoming them to the Gala. Discord noticed some mares winking at him and flirting with him from afar which made him gag and roll his eyes countless times. He wanted to see Fluttershy so badly. The thought of her beautiful teal eyes, her butterscotch coat, her smooth silky pink mane, her soft and lovely voice and of course her smooth and loving touch. These thoughts started to make him nervous. He tugged on his collar as he started to perspire. "Hey Shining, I think I'm going to get a drink. Find for me once she comes," he whispered to Shining before a bunch of royal guards lined themselves neatly in front of the entrance. "Behold Princess Twilight and her friends," a guard announced.
"Okay but I think she's already here" Shining whispered
"Oh thanks Captain Obvious ," Discord snapped with a voice slightly louder than a whisper. He paid his attention to the entrance and waited for his Fluttershy.
Twilight walked in first with a shining purple dress with and her cutie mark on its side and a white strip of fur on the bottom of it. She wore pure blue glass shoes, a pair of sky blue star earrings and her crown.Next was Rarity with a dress made out of beautiful blue peacock feathers and a lavender scarf. The ends of her mane and tail were curled with highlights of light blue and lime green in it. Next bounced a happy pink pony in a dress made of ocean blue, purple, light pink and sky blue silk layered above one another. She wore a pink hairband with white strips and a blue sweet shaped bow. She wore a pair of ocean blue shoes on her front hooves and her mane was. Rainbow Dash flew in next in a partially translucent purple dress with sequence on the top. She wore a pair of electric purple shoes and white laces wrapped around her front hooves, a pair of cyan lightning shaped earrings and her mane covered one of her eyes. Next came in Applejack in a translucent duke blue dress and a bunch of electric blue feathers on the top of it. She wore a pair light pink shoes and her mane down.Finally, Fluttershy walked in shyly wearing a long beautiful green dress with golden rings around the ends and a bunch of butterflies scattered all over the dress. She wore a butterfly earring made out of gold. Her hair and tail were curled with pink lilies in it.
Discord was in awe as he watched his beautiful Fluttershy walk in. He could have sworn that his eyes were turning into hearts and little mini hearts were floating around him."She's beautiful" Discord whispered.Shining and the other Princesses heard what he said and let out a little giggle. Discord gave them a death glare which silenced them. Twilight and her friends bowed to the princes and princesses. Rarity looked at Discord. "Who is this young, handsome stallion?" Rarity asked. Discord held in a chuckle. 'I'm not young and handsome but if this disguise could fool Rarity, this plan might actually work', he thought and turned his attention back to Fluttershy. "This is Prince Strife. My...brother" Celestia looked at Discord and nodded but Discord was too engrossed in his crush standing right infront of him.
Shining nudged Discord harder than before which made him wailed in pain and gave him a stern look. He used his eyes to signal that he needed to introduce himself.
"Ah yes. Hello Princess...and..." Discord started and looked at the 6 of them. He pretended not to know any of them as he didn't want them to be suspicious.
"I'm Princess Twilight sparkle and this is Rarity,"
"Hello there handsome prince" Discord gaged silently
"Pinkie Pie,"
"Hiya! My new friend!" Discord nodded and gave a quick smile
"Rainbow Dash"
Rainbow took out a pair of sunglasses and wore them ."Sup". Discord raised his brow "Do you carry that around with you always?" Rainbow scoffed. "Yea. It makes me 20% cooler and 1000% awesome!" She flew up into the air and did a few somersaults before landing back down. "Okay...interesting," he said awkwardly
"Applejack"
"Howdy' sugarcube. Mighty nice to meet ya" Discord nodded "And to you too"
"And lastly, Fluttershy"
"Um...hello" Fluttershy moved a step back and used her mane to cover her eye" This made Discord grin and giggled softly. "Hello my lady, you look stunning tonight." Fluttershy blushed. Rarity frowned and looked at Fluttershy with envy. "T-thank you," Fluttershy stammered
"I am Prince Strife from Baltimare. Brother of Celestia and Luna and is visiting Canterlot for a few days. With the Gala coming up i thought why not. This is my first time at the Gala so mind if you fine ladies accompany me around?"
"Oh we dont mind at all. Come on." Twilight said and led him and the others into the ball room.
Celestia gulped "I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen".Luna shrugged "Everything seems to be going well, just don't worry about it,"
Discord and the other 6 ponies stood at the back of the ballroom, where the glass windows were, showing the exquisite scenery of the garden and a door leading to it.
Just then, a mare with glasses and a clipboard appeared through the doors and lightly tapped Twilight on the shoulder. He proceeded to show her something on the clipboard. Twilight looked at it, but panic and worry etched on her face almost immediately. She bit her lip. "Um there is a...uh... slight problem and uh I need to do something about it..." said Twilight nervously before rushing off with the other mare.
Discord took a moment to look at Fluttershy. How beautiful and adorable she was in her dress, not that she wasn't beautiful without that dress of course. She just seemed to glow with more perfection in that dress, probably because the fine details of that dress suited her fur colour extremely well. Come to think of it, her yellow fur seemed to sparkle with magnificence under the bright and striking moonlight. He tool a glance around the crowd and noticed a few stallions smiling at her. He scoffed and stared at them with fury, anger showing on his face. He decided to spawn an egg above each stallion's head. He then dropped the eggs causing them to crack and spill onto their manes. Since these stallions were unprepared with such a series of events happening all at once, they started to run around screaming like little fillies and trying to get the mess out of their mane. Discord chuckled quietly, then shifted back quietly beside Fluttershy, his one and only, true love.
Fluttershy looked at the stallions running around. She only knew one pony...or draconequus who would this for her. She noticed the stallions smilling at her before the eggs dropped and to know that he was protecting her made her smile. But she soon remembered how long he was away. Discord, She missed him. Oh Discord. I miss you She frowned. If Discord was far away, who would do such a thing for her?
Discord noticed her frown. He started to worry. He cleared his throat and asked,"What's wrong? You look troubled. A little pale if I might add!"
Fluttershy looked at him and quickly covered her face with her mane. "Uh I-I-I'm fine. I-I just miss Discord. T-That's all" She muttered under her breath, but loud enough for Discord to hear it.
"You mean the amazing and awesome lord of chaos and disharmony? " He said teasingly. Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked at him with the same disgusted look. He mouthed the words "What? I'm just trying to help!" They rolled their eyes and proceeded to clear up the mess that DIscord had made in the ballroom hall.
Fluttershy realized what she had said and to whom. He doubt for this prince grew even more. He's a stranger but somehow...I feel like I can trust him. Like someone familiar...but who...she thought to herself. She shook it off. He's a Prince. Of course I feel like I can trust him! Sher grinned a little to herself, but blushed afterwards, knowing that he was looking at her with such an intense glare."Y-Yes?"
"Ooh candy!" Pinkie ran over to the candy section in the ballroom in less than a second, knocking some ponies out of the way.
"Pinkiiieee" Rainbow dash moaned angrily, while trying to catch up with her.
Discord stared at Pinkie as she gobbled down all the candy, cupcakes and treats there. Fluttershy noticed Discord's distraction from her and took that opportunity to take a walk around the garden where she could just clear her mind or if she was lucky, see her draconequus friend. She quietly sneaked away from her friends and headed for the garden.
Twilight walked onto the stage and tapped on the microphone. "Testing,testing. Alright. Welcome everypony to this year's Gala!!! I'm sorry to inform all of you that there will be a delay for the wonderbolt's performance but don't worry, they will perform just after midnight. Thank you!" Twilight informed and left the stage and did a small little gesture from the bottom of the stage. With Twilight's gesture noticed, a group of ponies walked up on stage and started playing a slow song.
Rainbow Dash looked around. "Awww man! What am I supposed to do now?!" groaned Rainbow, crossing her hooves and frowning at the crowd.
"Ya' could...dance?" said Applejack pointing at the crowd.
"Dance?! I hate dancing! Even if I would want to dance, I wouldn't dance with these snobby ponies!" complained Rainbow while pointing at a pair of fancy dressed ponies, who looked at Rainbow with anger.
"Not even me?" a stallion's voice came from the sea of ponies dancing.
Rainbow immediatly turned around to face him."Soarin! I-I didn't...wait... shouldn't you be preparing for the peformance later?" asked Rainbow, a little shocked to see him in a suit instead of his wonderbolt attire.
Soarin scratched the back of his head nervously "Yeah...well i kinda sprained my wing. Its nothing too bad but they don't want it to get any worse so I'm not peforming. And you still haven't answered my question." he explained, reaching his hoof out in front of her.
Rainbow blushed lightly and took his hoof "Of course not!"
Soarin smiled and pulled her close. They swayed to the music together. Discord watched as Rainbow willingly took his hoof and danced with him.
Then he realised that him and Fluttershy has not done anything memorable but talk. Then an idea popped into his head. I should dance with her! Why didn't I think of that before?! This spell must be messing up my brain.
He turned to his left where Fluttershy was and got the shock of his life. She was gone! " Where is she? Where is she?!" he panicked, pacing around Applejack and Rarity trying to find her.
"Where is who dear?" Rarity asked. "Flutt-!" He stopped himself from shouting at them and took a deep breath. "Fluttershy" he said calmly although with a little bit of annoyance. Rarity would never call him "dear" and he wouldn't want her to start now.
"She's probably in the garden" staring at Big Mac as he was dancing with some other mare. A mare with a bright purple and lavender mane. She couldn't see her face or cutiemark as many ponies were destroying the view.
Discord looked at Applejack's direction and realised what she was looking at. He went down to Applejack's ear "It's Cheerilee" and ran out of the ballroom to the garden and smiled. He looked around and moaned as memories of him being turned into stone flashed across his mind like a speeding arrow but stopped when he heard beautiful singing from a distance followed by chirping of birds. His ears twitched a little at the sound as he followed the sound and saw her dream mare standing in the garden surrounded with beautiful flowers which didn't have enough beauty as her. Birds perched on her head, butterflies flying around her. The light shining from behind her makes her much more amazing. Looking at her makes his legs wobble. He quickly used his wings to balance himself. "You have a beautiful voice" He said walking towards her.
Fluttershy looked down and smiled slightly. "T-Thank you Prince Strife" She said timidly.
Discord placed his hoof on her cheek and slowly slid it down to her chin and softly lifted her head up and looked into her sparkling cyan eyes. "You don't have to call me that. You can just call me...Strife," It felt weird to call him a "prince". He wasn't actually a prince, then why call him that? "and Whoever the lucky stallion is, is very very lucky," He continued.
Fluttershy blushed at his touch. It felt so familiar. She looked back into his eyes. Those eyes....they look so....familiar... "...Huh? Oh...uh...I don't have a special somepony...um Strife", She said. Trying that name for the first time
Discord tried to hide a smile but turned away as he couldn't contain his happiness. The urge to jump around like how Pinkie pie does is overwhelming. He looked around to try to distract himself and remembered why he came here for. He took a deep breath and turned back. "Would you do me the honour of having this dance my lady?" He bowed slowly holding his hoof out.
"Uh...um...I-I dunno..." Fluttershy nervously said staring at his hoof.
"Why not? " Discod asked raising from his bowing position.
Fluttershy gulped and backed away from him "Um...I don't really know...how. A-and I don't really want ponies to see me. What if I mess up and they laugh at me?!" She explained shutting her eyes closed and using her hoof to cover her face afraid that ponies are watching her now.
"What about we dance out here. It doesn't look like anypony is out here anyways. At least the music can be heard through the glass panes. Just follow my lead. Okay?," He said giving her a warm smile and holding his hoof out again.
Fluttershy opened one eye and looked at his hoof. "o-okay.."
She grabbed his hoof and Discord pulled her close to him. Fluttershy squeaked at the sudden movement which made Discord's smile wider. He guided her left hoof onto his shoulders as he wrapped his right hoof around her waist and softly held her hoof in his and they both swayed in sync with the rhythm of the music. Fluttershy smiled as she got the hang of it."See its not that hard," Discord said softly, realizing her smile. "If you want to get a little fancy," He said as he twirled her around. "Eek!" Fluttershy tightened her grip. When she returned to him, He smiled at her, telling her that there is nothing to be scared of. Fluttershy opened her eyes and realised that there was nothing to be scared about. "I see you're getting the hang of it."
"Y-yea. I guess I am," she said proudly as she started to move around more easily. Fluttershy slowly rested her head against his chest as she saw several ponies from the ballroom do it thinking that it was a dance move. This action made Discord's heart beat faster than ever and blush deeply. Discord rested his head above her's and smiled triumphantly. SHE LOVES ME!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHH He kept screaming in his head. Discord twirled her countless of times till the song was about to end.
He quickly leaned forward causing her to fall but his hoof around her waist stopped her from falling. Fluttershy squeaked again at this sudden movement. She let go of his hand and locked both hooves around his neck. Discord used his free left hoof around her waist, locking it together with his right hoof making sure she doesn't fall. He gave her a trusting smile which made Fluttershy relax. They looked at each other in the eye. Fluttershy blushed. Their faces inches away from each other. The song has ended but they have not moved at all. They were too mesmerised by each other. Discord noticed how close they were to each other. Should I or should I not? Discord thought as he was thinking on what to do next.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he slowly moved his face closer to hers. Fluttershy blushed brighter and slowly moved closer to his face. She felt her heart start to beat closer to him. She felt so happy to be with him although she didn't know him. She felt like the world stopped. She didn't know why.
"FLUTTERSHY!!!" a voice nearby shouted. Fluttershy and Discord turned to the direction of the voice."R-Rarity-Applejack-I-I- this..." Fluttershy stammered as she stood up. "Awwwww!" Rarity said as she and Applejack walked over to Fluttershy " Rainbow is lookin' for ya' sugarcube." Applejack said "Don't worry, you can have her back later Prince Strife" Rarity said cheekily as they both guided her back to the ball room. Rarity and Applejack shared a look and gave Discord a cheeky smile before entering the ballroom again.
Discord smiled dreamily and leaned against a tree nearby. He couldn't stop smiling. Once Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack entered, Luna landed next to Discord. Discord looked at her and immediately went tough.
"Oh stop acting Dissy! I saw the whole thing" Luna said kneeing him in the shoulder. Discord and Luna acted like siblings ever since Discord's reformation. Besides they've been through the same thing.
Discord rubbed his shoulder "Wait...you saw everything?" Discord panicked a little.
Luna smiled and nodded cheekily. "You know she really loves you right. I could see the way you two looked at each other. Clearly true love."
"Wait where exactly were you?" Discord asked, curious. Luna pointed at the tree close to Discord. Discord frowned "She's not in love with me. She loves "Prince Strife" not me...".
Luna shook her head " That's where your wrong. Fluttershy isn't like other mares. She cares about what's in here-" ,Luna said as she pointed to his heart, "-not all this" She continued as she moved her hoof in a circular motion around his face. Discord smiled and wanted to thank her but got interrupted by the wonderbolts, who were ready to start their performance. "Wait doesn't the wonderbolt's performance start just after midnight?" Luna said.
Discord shrugged. "Maybe Celestia was wrong!"
Luna agreed with him and shrugged. They both watched as the wonderbolts performed.
"I love you Discord, more than anypony in Equestria" Fluttershy whispered, her arms wrapped around Discord's distorted body. Discord smiled and looked down at her and brushed her soft pink mane with his claw. "I love you too my dear" he replied softly. He wrapped his tail around her and closed his eyes, enjoying every second of the hug.
"Discord..." Fluttershy said, her voice as soft as silk as she looked into Discord's eyes.
"Yes, my love?" He asked sweetly, looking back into her beautiful, sparkling eyes.
Fluttershy's eyes slowly started to well up with tears. "How could you?" She said, her voice trembling with sadness and pain. Discord backed away from her. "I...I don't understand...what did I do?" He muttered, staring at his only friend who stared back at him with anger and disgust. "I trusted you! I thought we were friends! How could you?!" Fluttershy cried out. "B-but we are..." He stammered. He was so confused and hurt. He watched as Fluttershy ran away from him.
He wanted to ran after her but trees started to sprout around him, destroying everything in sight. Discord started feeling nauseous and fell to his knees as his vision started to fail.
Just as he started to regain his sight, vines started to wrap his body, pulling him into the ground. Discord tried to teleport out of their grip but with no prevail.He tried to escape but it was no use. With every struggle, the more his body sunk into the dirt. Just before his body was fully sunken, he heard a scream. A familiar scream.
"Fluttershy!" He shouted, sitting up from his bed, panting as beads of sweat ran down his face. He looked around the room and noticed two alicorns right next to him. One had a soothing white coat while the other had a blue-violet coat. He grabbed the covers right before he fell of the bed. "Celestia! Luna! What the buck are you two doing in my room!" He shouted at them, removing the covers off his face.
"Luna told me about your problem," said Celestia, examining his state. Discord continued to lay on the floor as he tilted his head at that remark.
"What do you mean?" He questioned with a scoff. Luna used her magic to carry a mirror to the front of his face. Discord looked into the mirror and screamed. He stopped and threw the covers off the rest of his body and screamed even louder. "Wh-...how...I..." He stammered, crawling back up onto the bed, "I dont understand. Why didn't I change back? You said I would change back!" He accused Celestia of his situation.
With a flash, a book floated infront of his face. Discord looked back at Celestia and Luna who both signalled to read it. "Ponifying Spell...Alicorn magic...to change back...you need a...LIVING SPECIMEN OF SUBJECT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HOW DID YOU MISS THIS?!" Discord shouted with anger and frustration.
Celestia sighed as Luna tried to hide her erge to laugh. She usually enjoyed Discord's little fits, especially when it is with her sister. Celestia turned around. "I have asked Fluttershy to pick you up. You will be staying at Fluttershy's cottage as we find a way to get you into your draconquess self again. She is waiting for you in the train station in Canterlot right now. I'd advise you to start packing now," she said, sternly, as she left the room and slammed the door. Luna and Discord looked at each other with the same looks. Discored moaned in annoyance and rolled his eyes, "What's sunbutts problem?".
Luna smiled. "I'll leave you to packing. I'll be waiting outside," she informed and left the room. She sighed and bit her lower lip. "This is such a bad idea..." She whispered under her breath and waited for him to finish.
Fluttershy flew around her cottage, humming a beautiful tune whilst she fed her animals. "So uh Fluttershy what did you need me for?" a voice from below asked.
"Twilight! I-I forgot you were here," Fluttershy said shyly as she landed infront of the purple alicorn. She grabbed a small pink letter from under her wing. The purple alicorn levitated the letter closer to herself.
"Another letter to Discord I presume?" Twilight said, smiling at her friend.
Fluttershy blushed as she hid her face behind her mane and gave a shy smile. "I-If you don't mind," she stammered, rubbing her hoof slowly.
Twilight saw this and raised an eyebrow at her. She always helped send letters to Discord but with each request, it has become more and more, frequent. Then, a reason popped into her head. SHE HAS A CRUSH ON DISCORD! She gasped at that idea. Fluttershy looked at her with concern. Twilight wanted to slap herself countless of times from how ridiculous that idea was. Of course she doesn't have a crush on him. What kind of pony would like such a monster...but...Fluttershy likes animals and well Discord is well,made of different types of animals...but.... Twilight began to debate with herself.
"I-Is something wrong?" Fluttershy stared
Twilight shook her head and smiled at her friend warmly. Fluttershy smiled back. "No no yes I'm good" Twilight replaid to her friend.
"SPIKE!...um..." Spike's head poked out from Fluttershy's door with a mouthful of green mush. "yesh philit?" Spike said, a few lumps of green mush dropped from his mouth.
"SPIKE!" Fluttershy and Twilight shouted in unison. "Your not supposed to eat that! That's medicine for the sick animals! Spit that out now!" Fluttershy shouted as she ran to aid Spike with the medicine he ate. Twilight stared at the letter and bit her lower lip. She looked at her timid friend. "I'm sorry Fluttershy" Twilight sighed under her breath and with a blast of purple light, the letter was gone, leaving a few sparkles which faded as they fell. Fluttershy and Spike looked over.
"Wheres the letter Twilight?" Fluttershy said with a little panicky tone in her voice.
"I decided to send it myself" Twilight answered
"Uh why?" Fluttershy asked, alot more calmer.
Angel poked his head out of Fluttershy's mane, yawning. He looked at Spike and Twilight angrily as he neatened his snow white coat.
Twilight's iris shrunk as she stiffened from the question. How did i not think of that?! she yelled in her head "Uh...um...well...cause uh...S-Spike ate all that medicine and...uh...I'm afraid it might mess up the delivery...hehe" Twilight stammered with a timid chuckle at the end. As Twilight ended her sentence, Spike started to clench his stomach and gagged over and over again. Twilight placed her hoof over Spike's shoulder. "See, now his getting si- ouch!" Twilight tried to continued but was interrupted by Spike's fiery breath and a letter thrown into her face.
Spike picked up the letter and began to read it out loud.
Dear Fluttershy, Element of Kindness
You are requested to meet Prince Strife, my cousin from the Gala and Princess Luna at the Canterlot Train station now. Prince Strife will be staying at your place as me and my sister have important tasks ahead and will not have time to entertain him. I am sorry for this inconvenience.

Twilight, Fluttershy and Spike shared the same look. "Wait did she say right now?" Twilight asked.
Spike looked at the letter and nodded. Twilight panicked and grabbed Spike and Fluttershy by the arm as she flapped her wings and headed for Canterlot.
"Wait...Twilight! What just happened?" Fluttershy asked as she was dragged to the skies. Angel shrugged as he grabbed a few strands of Fluttershy's mane and wrapped it around his waist.
Princess Luna tapped her hoof against the floor. Where is he? Luna asked herself. Luna turned to walk to Discord's room but was stopped by a unicorn with a light grey coat and a black mane which parted against his horn. He had lavender eyes which looked down at Luna with a warm embrace. He had two blue music notes as a cutie mark."Arpeggio?! Fancy meeting you here. I thought you went to spend the week with your family at Manehatten?" Luna asked as she took a step back and brushed his coat where she bumped into him.
Arpeggio stopped Luna and groomed his own coat "Ah yes well, my family decided to meet me here when i told them i had a performance in canterlot this weekend. You are coming to my performance right? Your highness," He asked as he bowed infront of her.
"Arggi please...you know I don't like it when you call me that. And bow too, a-and yes I will be attending your performance " Luna said, blushing. Arpeggio stood back up and rubbed with Luna's mane. "I'll see you there then," The unicorn said before leaning forward and kissing the forehead of the blue alicorn before leaving with a warm smile. Luna's face began to glow pink.The unicorn waved goodbye as he walked off.
Just as Luna waved back, she could hear a large outburst of laughter coming from behind, when she turned, she saw an alicorn laying on the floor clenching his stomach, "Arggi-ahahahaha-wh-what-ahahahaahahaha" . Luna's face started to change from pink to red as she stomped toward the alicorn. She lifted a broom which was nearby and whacked the alicorn in the head, hard.
"SHUT UP!" Luna's scream echoed through the entire castle
Discord frowned at Luna and she frowned back. Discord used his magic to press an icebag on his head, where a bruise laid as he moaned in pain. Luna rolled her eyes when he did that. "Why did you have to hit me so hard?" Discord asked, looking away from her.
"I don't know. Why do you have to be so annoying?" Luna answered back with anger.
"Well if you don't like it then why are you following me. I'm perfectly capable on walking on my own!!" Discord answered, raising his voice louder than Luna's previously was
"Because I think you'll need help giving proof to Fluttershy that you underwent a spell making YOU, DISCORD, AN ALICORN WHO DANCED WITH HER LA-hmmph"
"QUIET DOWN WOMAN!" Discord shoved the icebag into Luna's mouth silencing her as he looked around vigorously, checking if anypony heard. Though, The nearest pony was about 20 feet away, drunk. Probably from last night's Gala
Luna tried to push the icebag out of her mouth with her magic but to no avail. She didn't expect Discord to be that strong. "well..." Discord started, scratching the back of his neck. " I thought of not...telling her about that..." Discord admitted slowly.
Luna spat out the icebag at him, hitting him in the neck. The sudden change in temperature made him cringe. "Wath? Wai?...liphs numph." Luna spoke and immediately rubbed her lips. The cold from the ice had made her lips numb.
"Well yesterday, Fluttershy...She...She.." Discord said, looking down sadly. Luna stared at him, trying to convince herself that he wasnt crying. But she could confirm it. She looked at his head where the bruise was and bit her lip. She felt bad. "Please, tell me whats wrong," Luna hesitantly wrapped her arm around his neck but before she could, Discord looked at her, his eyes slowly clouded up with tears. "She fell in love with somepony else...She fell in love with this...this...handsome and charming prince, Prince Strife," Discord said, mocking the name at the end, with his shaky voice, forcing himself not to break down infront of Luna.
Luna stared at him awkwardly. She hesitated. She had no idea on what to do. She wrapped her hoof around his neck. "Do you really think she fell in love with the Prince looks and not the Prince's personality?". Discord lifted his head slightly. "Do you really think Fluttershy is that kind of mare? A mare who cares about somepony's looks more than their personality?" Luna questioned. Discord stood up without knowing and continued to walk. Luna frowned at him. "Rude" Luna said under her breath and hurried to Discord's side. Discord was lost in thought. Maybe Luna was right. But ... The way she looked at me last night, the way she reacted. Was towards the Prince and not the draconequus. Sure Fluttershy doesn't judge somepony's looks but she can be attracted to them. I too changed my personality to make myself more...likable. Discord's train of thought halted when he was knocked onto the floor by somepony...familiar. His head was hazy from the impact but the texture of the pony's soft fur was too familiar to him. "F-fluttershy?" He shook his head to clear up his vision and looked at the yellow pony slouched ontop of him" He immediately helped fluttershy up and checked if she was okay. "Fluttershy, Dear are you okay?". Fluttershy stumbled a little and shook her head. "Y-y-yes I'm- Prince Strife! Princess Luna!" She bowed down infront of royalty. Discord smiled and brought his hoof infront of her. "Like I said last night, You don't have to do that," Fluttershy looked up and shyly grabbed Discord's hoof. He pulled her back up to her hooves. Twilight, who crashed into the ground next to them slowly regained her consciousness. "Are we late?" Twilight asked faintly, gripping her head which is throbbing after crashing into the ground. Straight after, A train chugged its way into the train station which was right next to them.
"There's your answer" Discord said bluntly. The sound of steam leaving the train followed by a loud voice shouting "all aboard" snapped Twilight out of her trance. "We should leave, don't want to miss the train" Discord stated while walking over to the station, Fluttershy nodded and followed afterwards. Twilight lifted her hoof to walk over them but Luna used her magic and pulled Twilight's. She stared at Luna.
"Keep an eye on him" Luna said in a low and serious tone. Twilight looked at the two who were chatting while waiting for her to join them in the train. He seems innocent. she thought. Twilight looked at the princess of the night with concerned eyes. Luna let go of twilight's tail and she flopped onto the floor, face first. Luna stopped her when she was in the middle of a step.
"Final call for ponyville!" The pony in a conductor's hat shouted as the train began to start up again. Twilight lifted her head and darted to where Fluttershy and Discord are. She turns back and looks at Luna. Luna gave her a stern look and a nod. Twilight nodded back before the train doors closed on her.
