Twilight Sparkle and her friends are snowed into the library one evening, and they happen upon that rarest of specimens - a book Twilight doesn't recognise. However, the ancient tale of adventure and intrigue they find inside ends up shattering their worldview and sending them on an adventure of their own.
This is basically what came to my mind when I heard that Lauren Faust's original concept for the show was of a more arc-based, magical girl style (this turned out not to be true, but my mind ran with it anyway), but this story ended up a long way from magical girls and well into high fantasy by the time I started writing. Also draws on select Homestuck and Dungeons & Dragons themes, and plays with a lot of things the canon leaves unexplained.

Getting back to the stuff about my OC, Wolf, I MEANT to tell you that, in my fics and such, "Whitewolf" is Wolf's FIRST name, but I was in kind of a hurry the day that I replied to you (my time was running out at the library, and I'm absolutely TERRIBLE at trying to do stuff when I'm in a big rush like that).
Anyway, ANOTHER scenario (cutie mark-wise that I came up with for her IF I decide to go with the "Whitewolf" name, rather than the "Stormrunner" one, is that she's good with wolves (NOT the kind that was seen in the "Family Appreciation Day" ep ("timberwolves", that are REALLY "made" out of timber? THAT had to be THE corniest thing I've EVER seen...in ANY TV series!), but REAL, flesh-and-fur wolves (gray OR white; doesn't matter)), and THAT's how she earned her Cutie Mark, rather than being BORN with it. (I'm just going THAT way with her in my fic because it adds a bit more mystery to her ALREADY mysterious past.)

And I quite understand about the deal-breaker thing. I wasn't planning on making her related to any of the canon characters (just close friends with a few (like AJ, Rainbow and Twilight), but that's all), anyway. I'll leave things like THAT for my fics. Promise.
And civil is my middle name, bro. NOT being that way CAN get you kicked OUT of forums like yours in one HAY of a hurry, so I generally try to mind my manners and be nice. I play nice, too, so NO worries on that.

And where her NAME is concerned, I'm prevaricating back and forth between using "Whitewolf" OR "Stormrunner", but, given the history of Wolf's Cutie Mark, I'm now leaning more toward the "Stormrunner" one, with the nickname of "Storm". Whatta you think?
And I'd planned to be a lurker just long enough to get the hang of thing around the forum. I generally do THAT with ANY forum that I join. So I hope that that's okay.
Alright, I'll answer the easier one first:

Your character as it is there actually looks like it has a decent start to it! We have no problem with players contributing to the lore as long as it's all discussed fully (having a deer tribe in the Everfree Forest actually sounds pretty nifty) and the name is actually a valid (but not amazing) pony name. 'Stormrunner' is a perfectly good name by itself, but tacking 'Whitewolf' on to the front throws it off a bit, like it's stuffing too much into it. The cutie mark thing though, that... might be a touchy subject. But, this is just my opinion - the other admins would be perfectly happy to help you and answer questions.
As for lurking, it's not like we can stop you! If you want to just hang around and spectate, and maybe chat once in a while, that's perfectly okay. We're really pretty relaxed and friendly at TLD.
Okay, SECOND quick question: are the Ponies TWO legged (like in your "Harmonies Wrath"-Verse) OR aare they just your normal, run-of-the-mill FOUR-legged, four-hooved Ponies like we see in the show?

Hey, bro. I'd like to join your "The Longest Day" MLP RPG Forum, but I'm a bit confused on some things (I would have posted this comment on your Blog entry about it, but this danged library comp doesn't seem to want to LET me!
). Okay, I FULLY understand that one of the "deal-breakers" (which I'm guessing is a good way to get yourself tossed OUT of the game (and, by extention, the forum itself)) is the "being a relative of one of the canon characters" (say like, Rainbow's older fraternal twin sister, or something along THAT line), but what about the "unusual name" thing? My MLP OCs name is Whitewolf Stormrunner, and she's a pegasus, raised by the Great Deer Folk of the Everfree Forest (I'm guessing that THEY'RE a no-no, too, though). She's also a scout and explorer (if your read her ("my") Bio over on my page here, it pretty much tells all about her), and where her Cutie Mark comes from is pretty much a mystery to her (according to her back-story, she was BORN with it...probably ANOTHER non-no).
Anyway, I'd love to join up, but I'm a little bit shy of doing it at the moment. Can you join and just be a lurker, or whatever? Or DO you HAVE to participate? I'd LOVE to join, if for no other reason than to just have fun watching OTHERS play.
