Princess Luna is told by Princess Celestia that she must take on two students. But something is different about these two and there is a specific reason Luna was chosen for this task. As the students grow and learn, The fate of Equestria could hang in the balance.

It has been a long time since Twilight Sparkle has written to the Princess. She has been living her life, with what was thought to be a complete knowledge of friendship.  When Princess Celestia receives this letter from her student, it comes with a disheartening message.

Princess Luna has been back for only a short time, but is already lonely. She feels the reason may be because all the ponies sleep through her night, as well as the fact she has some unanswered questions.  She decides to take a look and see if she can find a way to be happy with the way things are, and some answers too.

Note:This implies a history (Before Discord) and a lifecycle, that I may elaborate on if I continue this story.
