Thirty Minute Ponies! · 11:52pm
If you're following me, there's a good chance that you enjoy my writing. (Why you do, I'm still trying to understand.) There's also a fair chance that you find the wait for a bit more of my writing to be a tad long. I'd pin it as a near-certainty that you also enjoy the writing of some of FiMfiction's other fine authors, and a remote possibility that you might want to try your own hand at writing a quick little story or two.
If any of those apply, then have I got a solution for you!
Thirty Minute Ponies is a writing blog that has been started by six great writers (and me, Zoidberg!) in order to challenge ourselves and others, to encourage authors to expand their horizons, and just to get people writing in general. Besides myself, you may recognize Donny's Boy (of Seeking Beauty and Not Unless You Mean It fame), Baby Seal Burritos (the admirable and agile author of Alliteration), Kyronea (the keeper of The Secrets We Share), NorsePony (who wrote a story without using the letter E, as well as Darkly Dreaming Pinkie), Bookpony230 (who really needs to take a moment away from Still Alive to change his name here to The Bombastic Bookpony!), and RWL (who I'm certain is on FiMfiction or not, but who runs How Do Ponies Work?).
Each day, one of the mods of Thirty Minute Ponies will post a prompt, from which participants are to craft a story around within thirty minutes. Submissions are open for six hours after the prompts are posted, giving authors a reasonable time frame to allot their half-hour of writing. After submissions are closed, the submitted stories are posted, with comments from the mods about each piece.
Mods are allowed to write for any prompts save for their own, so I've already written four short pieces involving comatose pegasi, bets on the secret habits of unicorns, Sweetie Belle inadvertently saving a life, and extraterrestrial activities. My designated prompt day is Wednesday, and I already have my first one planned.
So check it out, read what we've written, and feel free to toss your hat in the ring. We'd all love to see you there!

Wheee! First comment on awesome page! (lawl failure!)
Enjoy the watch. Also you made mention of the fact you wrote short fanfics under time limits as if it were a bad thing. When I first started writing Game reviews freelance for a mag I cannot name here, I had no concept of a word count. It was only after I was given 300 word to explain 40 hours of my life that I realized how important each word needs to be. That kind of razors edge is actually one of the best teacher you can imagine on the battlefield of writing. Do keep in mind though my past writing experience is in Analysis and reporting, (the enthusiast press in my case) so if you read one of my stories and realize it's shite you'll understand it's because I'm new to telling stories rather than just being a mouth on the wall. Also, no editor now.
Keep up the good work,
Starlitomega
I will read all your Twinkie stories.
