Tau Niem is an alien - a Danarian to be specific, an extraterrestrial ancestor of the Human race. Once an honored diplomat for the Third Interstellar Federation of Danarian Clans, he was dismissed from service. Without any attachment to his former life, he took to hopping through time with the aid of a prototype time-machine that may, or may not, exactly be legal...? Somehow, he fell asleep one night in his past, our present, and awoke somewhere else...somewhere with a lot of ponies.

Taken from his home and thrown into Equestria, a 'primitive', pre-space age society, he must now decide what do do with himself? Can he discover what pulled him from his life? And why? What's more, can he find a way home? Will he want to return...or will the weight of his past convince him to stay in this paradise? What's more, what of the Equestrians? Will the two parties discard their suspicions of the other and learn to trust? Or are the two just too different to ever live together?

AN: The Names of Chapters are the written in Danarian (as best as they can be, using the Latin-alphabet). First the number of the chapter, then the title, followed by its meaning in English.

In the years following Celestia's seizing both my crown and kingdom from me, she banished our sister to the moon...but what really happened? Why did Celestia banish Luna? What role did Nightmare Moon play and more importantly, just who, or what, exactly was she? Could my demure little sister really have planned on setting the world in an eternal shadow?

These answers I would be denied, since the only pony that could answer them had been magically imprisoned in the moon! Soon after confronting Celestia, I renounced my claim on these lands and left Equestria, fleeing into the farthest reaches of the known world, an exile from my own kind... However, before I did so, I promised my so called sister that one day Luna would return and when she did, I would learn the truth. Now that time has come, and this stallion always keeps his promises...

You know very little about the events surrounding both her exile and those occurring after her return to Equestria. If it was up to Celestia, you might never know the dark truth... If you still desire to know, merely listen to this story, for it is the tale of Luna and her return...

My name is Jack...at least it is now. I wasn't always an earthbound pony, wouldn't you know? No, I suppose you wouldn't. There are a great many things you don't know. Times with which my fair sister does not speak... Our past is limited only to our memory...that is, if she even bothers to remember me?

Though I assure you, I remember her.

After more than a thousand years of ruling Equestria without opposition, it is time you heard the truth. Do forgive me if I shatter the porcelain image of your beloved princess, but her lies have stood as history a bit too long for my tastes...
