Honestly, I kind of (not so) secretly hope that Applejack's parents make an appearance in season four; and that they turn out to be annoying, abusive jerks that everypony ends up hating. I would just love to see them in passing, to see the moment of the writers semi-intentionally shooting half the fandom in the foot. That would be funny.
