With a dead pony looking strangely like an older version of himself appearing in his living room, Starswirl discovers a journal containing fantastic spells and ideas, the likes of which a primitive Equestria has never seen. Chief among these is a revised time spell, allowing a pony to travel through both time and space with no time limit flaws. Never one to withhold curiosity, Starswirl sets out bounding across now, then, possibly, and everywhere in between.

Ever wake up one day, and realize you're a tree?

Probably not, unless you happen to be one very unhappy Pegasus. After waking up deep inside the Everfree, our hero (who may or may not remain nameless) quickly finds naught but disappointment as he lies trapped inside a massive oak. Of course, he doesn't stay trapped long, and soon he finds himself escapading around the Everfree with a rather odd entourage following in his footsteps.
