Twilight Sparkle
I relate heavily to Twilight now that I'm older and see a lot of me in her. She's a comfort character for me and really her character is what brought me back to FimFic. However, S1-S4 Twilight had some of THE best moments but her character arc throughout the whole show was still done wonderfully 
Rarity
Honestly, I wrote her off as a girly character with no depth and avoided paying attention to her when I was younger. Rewatching the show proved me so wrong and I love the care she puts into everything. She works so hard for her family, friends, and her dreams, she truly embodies the Element of Generosity, and is just fabulous, Darling! 
Princess Celestia
I had a soft spot for her when I was younger and that soft spot has only grown. I love the symbolism in her character and while the show doesn't really give her much depth until the later seasons, the expansion of her character in the comics is wonderful. However, I adore the flexibility in her character. You can mold her character into anything and give her that depth. And God, am I a sucker for character studies. 
Princess Luna
Princess Luna was my favorite Princess growing up and while I now love all of the princesses equally now, I still heavily relate to her character more than ever. I love the symbolism and the depth of her character, especially in the other media pieces (Books/Comics). She tries so hard and is so thoughtful. 
Applejack
An oldie but a goodie! When I first watched MLP, I heavily related to AJ since I was considered "country" by some of my friends. While I don't find myself reading or finding content, I still enjoy her character, I still have my Applejack plushie, and I still have room for Applejack in my heart

Yeah, I feel like being in the fandom for so long gives a particular perspective/honor. It looks like we joined at about the same time. I started watching MLP 1 week before the S3 finale. After watching it I couldn't help but see how the community reacted to Alicorn Twilly. Several hundred fanfics were read later and the rest is history.
That's awesome! Overwatch is great. I am still a little disappointed by how little was added in OW2, but I still play it every now and then. I play mostly support and tank. Mercy is in a really good place in this patch. I don't play it competitive though, just casually. If you're looking for someone to play with, give me a poke.
Otherwise, I mostly play DotA 2 (A terrible lifelong game I care far too much about). I also have played a lot of Valheim and Hades, both great games!
It sounds like you enjoy strategy games, Civ 5; classic. I am a game designer so I really should play Civ 5 or one of the Civ games, but I've never gotten into it.

I used to put most of my hours into Overwatch but have taken a step back from it since it was revamped into OW2
