So, still in the phase of debating rebooting the story, but I did say that I was looking to get a commission done based on it and so I did. So, it's been a while since I said I was going to write stuff, and then never did, but the good news is I'm actually working on the introduction to the next arc! I'm hoping to get it out later this week, actually. This arc will hopefully give me a chance to start branching out into a wider cast of characters, and a few years of writing will have helped me hone things a bit. So, good news/bad news time.

Bad news is I didn't get lucky with the academic job market, so gonna be staying with my grad program another year instead. Good news, is that means I now have a finished dissertation basically and don't have as high as stress (beyond normal stress of teaching, research, etc.) and can have a bit more spare time to start thinking on the fic!
